3) Eye contact – not staring or directly making eye
contact or intimidating them.
4) Polite tone of speaking and never aggressive or
rude tone. Keep voice at low volume and don't
argue
5) Listen carefully to take instructions from them.

6. Some of the other things to be kept in
mind while dealing with lady passengers
 Having a good mind set and attitude towards women
customers
 Not touching them physically at any cost
 Not leading them to dark areas.
 Don’t smoke inside or near the hotel while a lady is
around .
 Always take measures to safe guard women customers
specially all situations
 Get a lady to help another lady when is intoxicated.

7. Cross Cultural Sensitivity and
awareness
 Women may speak with fellow guests freely or on phone with their friends /
business associates freely.
 Urbane ladies may wear western clothes or may dress differently as per their
comfort level
 Not all women who come as guests in the cities are necessarily not of your
culture, and follow traditional cultures and beliefs that are different, eg.
some may be single parents.
 Speaking to customers in the language they are comfortable with is
important
 Addressing lady customers by Miss,Mrs,Ms. …. NAME…or as Madam is very
important. In case they may also prefer you addressing them as Smt.
 Not laughing on their appearance , dress and not taking any interest in their
personal life style and interests/beliefs, attire are also very important
 Being sensitive to their religion, culture (rural/Urban),
traditional/modern/ulta modern, region, language, height, weight, dressing
sense, hair color, nail polish color, shoes etc.
 Basic greetings like good morning, good afternoon, good night, thank you,
please, sorry, excuse me.

8. Beware
• No one can escape these acts:
– molestation,
– intimidation / threatening
– Inappropriate touch
– rape
These are heinous crimes.
Trying to act over smart with women would spoiling your
future, career & sinking the hopes of your family.
There is zero tolerance for such cases.

9. Crime against women
 Women safety and security is a major issue and very
important part of every organization providing any kind of
service to them
 Crime against women such as molestation, other heinous
crimes are punishable under section 294,509,353 under IPC
 Awareness of laws for sexual harassments.
 Rape is a crime, eg. Recently - US-based cab service provider ,
Cab driver , 32-year-old Driver allegedly raped a 27-year-old
woman executive, was caught and sent to police custody
 Specially how to ensure safety and security for women
working/travelling in night shifts.

10. If you wish to risk your future, you
should know
Section 294 : Whoever, to the annoyance of others-
(a) Does any obscene act in any public place, or
(b) Sings, recites or utters any obscene song, balled or words, in or
near any public place,
Shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a
term which may extend to three months, or with fine, or with both.
Section 509 : Whoever, intending to insult the modesty of any
woman, utters any word, makes any sound or gesture, or exhibits
any object, intending that such word or sound shall be heard, of
that such gesture or object shall be seen, by such woman, or
intrudes upon the privacy of such woman, shall be punished with
simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year, or
with fine, or with both.

11. If you wish to risk your future, you
should know
• Section 375, 376: Whoever, except in the
cases provided for by sub-section (2), commits
rape shall be punished with imprisonment of
either description for a term which shall not
be less than seven years but which may be for
life or for a term which may extend to ten
years

12. Beware of the morals & facts
– A woman is mother, wife or sister of some one.
You are her custodian during the journey. Show
your concern & care for her.
– A woman may or may not be physically weaker
than the male, but she can attract huge attention
& media glare.
– Giving wrong information with ulterior motives
will be handled with no mercy by law.
