Lov Fiasco Case Brief
HESPERIAAuthorities say a 45 year old man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly attacking a bus
driver. At around 10:20 a.m., Deputy LoVasco from the San Bernardino County Sheriff s Hesperia
Station was flagged down by a motorist who witnessed a male passenger attacking a Victor Valley
Transit bus driver. A male passenger got up and attacked the driver and was armed with a knife, said
Sgt. Doug Hubbard. After the attack, the bus had stopped at an intersection eastbound at Bear Valley
Road and I Avenue in the left turn lane, Hubbard said. Through investigation and witness accounts,
authorities learned that the suspect, identified as Ala Nifo, of Hawaii, suddenly, and what appeared to
be without provocation, attacked the bus driver when they stopped ... Show more content on

Authorities said Nifo, 45, failed to comply with LoVasco s commands and was ineffectively stunned
by a Taser once, officials said. After the citizen was able to flag down one of our deputies, he then
made contact with the suspect and was in a brief struggle, Hubbard said. Nifo reportedly continued to
be combative and fought with LoVasco before he was able the deputy again deployed the Taser, which
finally gained the suspect s compliance. Nifo was taken into custody without further incident and a
knife was recovered at the scene, officials said. The bus driver was taken to a local hospital for
treatment of his injuries. The bus was occupied with approximately 18 other passengers at the time of
the attack, officials said. No one else reported injuries in the incident. It was unclear Wednesday
afternoon what provoked the attack or what Nifo s intent was, officials said. Nifo was booked at High
Desert Detention Center on charges of attempted murder, carjacking and battery against a peace
officer, officials said, though jail records didn t show further information as of Wednesday

Age Discrimination At The Workplace
Age Discrimination in the Workplace
American workforce is getting older. Fact, in between 1970 to 1991, the workforce number over the
age of 40 in the U.S. has increased from 39,689,000 to 53,940,000. Because of that, the legislative and
judicial developments in the age discrimination in employment have occurred (1). The baby boomer
generation Americans born between 1946 and 1964 represents more than seventy million workers in
the U.S. workplace, and that around 50 percent of the whole workforce. The whole baby boomer
generation since 2006 has falls under the protection of the federal laws against acts of discrimination
based of age (ADEA) (2). In 2011 more than 40 million people in the United States are ages 65 and
older. Moreover, this number will increase to 89 million and that is more than double by 2050. Age
discrimination is continuing, as the workforce is growing old (3). A study by the federal Bureau of
Labor Statistics shows that the older workers unemployed longer than younger (4). Age discrimination
is harmful not only to the individuals who experience it. In 2004 alone, the cost of negotiated
settlements of federal age discrimination complaints totaled $69 million . Age discrimination is
possibly the most damaging of the various cases of discrimination that occur in the workplace.
According to Collins English Dictionary, ageism is the discrimination regarding to the age, especially
against the elderly. People who are in their middle of

Rome Was Different From The Steppes
Rome was different from the steppes.
For one, there were more trees. Dense forests dotted the landscape back east but here in the west they
rolled on for miles and miles, making it harder for the large horde to travel on horseback. At least the
roads helped. Romans were meticulous about their roads, and their insistence about the width made it
easier for riders to ride two by two, as well as for the large carts to pass through unscathed. Roads to
the east were merely dirt paths carved over time, little more than dirt impressions winding through a
sea of grass.
Although grateful for them, Attila didn t need the roads. Despite the trees he could have navigated his
men through the thick forests, though it would have admittedly taken ... Show more content on

It was a damning piece of parchment. Her brother had been sending legions to the east to stop the
encroaching Huns. He would not have allowed his sister to write the letter and if he had been
entertaining the idea of an alliance, then he would have written it himself.
This was treason.
Yet the idea was intriguing. Attila had been married once before, but both his wife and child were dead
and buried alongside the trails in the steppes. With no legitimate heir to his dynasty, there had already
been quarrels amongst the host as to who should step in if, and more importantly when, the king died.
Some suggested one of his acknowledged sons from the trail women. Though not born of a proper
union, they were still his blood. Others said that he should pick from his most trusted generals. Attila
had made no decision either way, however. In fact the inferred idea that he would not sire any more
children offended him. He was a young man, not a lecher too old to rise to the occasion... He could
still father a true heir.
And who better than a princess from the west, beautiful and young, and considering the ring that Attila
had wrapped around his neck with a bit of leather, who was also eager to become his wife?
So the decision was made. Attila chose from the main host a few hundred men to accompany him to
Rome. It was dangerous riding into the heart of the empire but with a smaller group travelling with
him, it would be easier to avoid patrols and outposts.

Business Operations And Administration Services
My research of business operations and administration services in an inpatient skilled nursing facility
expanded my knowledge of the responsibilities of an affective administrator. Although there are
various business operations within the healthcare facilities, environmental services is critical for the
aesthetics and maintenance of the facility. Therefore, I selected to research environmental services and
how that department interfaces with administration services. However, environmental services does
not have direct patient care contact, but without this service there would be no patients. Environmental
services determines the aesthetics of the facility inside and outside. Consequently, environmental
services has a lot of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Housekeeping is responsible for keeping the inside of the facility clean. Their duties consists of
cleaning patient s rooms, common areas, and visitor s bathrooms. The floor technicians are
responsible for cleaning and sanitizing the different floor types in all common area, ancillary
departments, and the hallways. Floor care is very pertinent to the aesthetics of the facility. Therefore,
all floors should be clean and free of offensive odors. Although floors are maintained around the
clock, usually the floors are stripped and waxed during the night when there is less traffic.
Environmental services and housekeeping is a business operation that has close scrutiny from
administration. Henceforth, the lack of aesthetics inside and outside of the facility will not attract all
types of families and patients. Although, environmental services does not provide direct patient care,
there would be no patients without quality service from this business operation. In my research I
mentioned that environmental services and housekeeping operates as one entity. Consequently, in my
SLP module I chose to interview the manger and a housekeeping aide. I wanted to get insight from the
personnel delegating, and the actual person performing the duties. Mr. Goralski is the environmental
services manager, and services both environmental services and housekeeping. Mr. Goralski has been
employed with the inpatient skilled nursing facility for over twenty

Cause And Health Effects Of Ethnic Violence In Kenya
In December of 2007 to February of 2008, Kenya experienced ethnic violence triggered by a disputed
presidential election held on 27 December 2007, over 1000 individuals were killed and 600,000 were
displaced during post election violence. The opponent s supporters of the new president, protested
saying that he had won due to election manipulation, the countries citizens went on a violent rampage
killing Kikuyus, the country s largest ethnic group. This is significant to global health because more
than half a million people were displaced from their villages, homes and their way of life, getting
uprooted due to violence especially those on Antiretroviral therapy for HIV which depends on
continuous access to medications during those months was impossible. The main topics I will talk
about in the essay will be the violence the country went through and the health effects on its citizens.
The lead, up to the 2007 elections, the two main parties that were fighting for government were the
Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and Party of National Unity (PNU), these two parties were
supported by different ethnic groups in the country. The ODM was backed by Luo, Luhya and
Kalenjin, tribes represented in the Western Provinces and Rift Valley, while the PNU was supported by
Kikuyu, tribe based in the Central and Eastern Provinces and strongly represented in the capital
Nairobi, the Coast Province and Rift Valley. Approximately 70% voters came out to participate the
country s highest ever percentage at that time. Polling results published before the election showed
that Raila Odinga head of the ODM party with a small lead. However, on 30 December 2007, Kenya s
Electoral Commission announced that Mwai Kibaki the head of the PNU the winner. Odinga and the
ODM rejected the results, stating the elections had been rigged, with which foreign election observers
agreed. The announcement of the results triggered widespread and systematic violence, resulting in
more than 1,000 deaths and the displacement of over 600,000 civilians. Clashes were mostly
ethnically targeted killings of those aligned with the PNU and ODM against each other. Following the
conflict, evidence arose suggesting that the pattern of violence during this period,

Female Roles In The Oresteia By Aeschylus
Female Roles in The Oresteia That woman she manoeuvers like a man (Aeschylus 103). This quote
from the Greek tragedy, The Oresteia by Aeschylus, introduces readers to a theme of the piece: the
role of women. Furthermore, this tragedy gives the reader a view on how women played a role in
ancient Greek society. Additionally, it highlights the reaction, from Greek men, to women in
leadership roles. In the following, you will find a historical account of the role of Greek women, and
how Aeschylus shows a different role of women. Therefore, by reading The Oresteia we can get a
glimpse into what characteristics Greek women embodied. Also, through the actions of female
characters such as Clytemnestra and Electra, we see examples of women ... Show more content on

After reading this quote, one can see that even a murder by a woman is seen as having less weight.
Despite the cruelty of the murder, Clytemnestra killed her husband / king to get revenge for him
killing their daughter years prior. Essentially, King Agamemnon sacrificed his and Clytemnestra s
daughter for better luck in a war. Furthermore, he was never punished for this killing. Therefore,
seeing that the male led judicial system failed to uphold justice, Clytemnestra took it into her own
hands. Overall, this shows a woman recognizing that justice was being put to the wayside and taking
action to make it right. Now, Aeschylus did not explain if Clytemnestra tried to advocate for her
husband to be punished for her late daughters killing. But, he does make clear that she is not happy
with the way in which the counsel dealt with it. Not surprisingly, a woman in charge of a kingdom
would not be taken so lightly in ancient Greece. As a clear example of this, Clytemnestra s taking of
the reins while the king was at war, was met with a fair amount of backlash. Although not publically
scrutinized, Clytemnestra was seen as not fit for the position because of her gender. In fact, this is very
clear when news of the war ending reached Argos. When the watchman told the queen about Troy
being beaten, Clytemnestra took the news directly to the counsel. When she relayed the message, she
was met with skepticism. For example, a chorus

The International Organic Food Market
Introduction A substantially growth of organic food industry globally has become one of the evidence
proving that people emphasize more in eating well, sanely, healthfully and even ethically nowadays
(Bittman, 2009).An estimation of US$ 47.2 billion is expected to grow in the international organic
food market within 5 years from 2010 to 2015 (Transparency Market Research, 2014). Consumers are
willing to pay more for organic, environmentally friendly or natural products even during recession
(Cummings, 2008). Demand for organic products are gradually increase every year, thereby this report
is to analyze the market of China precisely in overall environmental aspects and outline some
marketing implications the company will apply if it exports organic products into China. The company
mentioned is Country Farms SdnBhd, a company based in Malaysia and is totally owned subsidiary of
Berjaya Group Berhad (Country Farm Organics, 2014). It was founded in 1998. The aim of the
company is to promote healthier living in fast paced world nowadays in supplying high quality
organic products at affordable price. Country Farms offer a wide range of 100% natural products,
including foods, vegetables, Milk powder, Oil, beverages, fruit juice, personal care products etc. The
prices of organic products are higher compare to conventional products in the market (Bezawada, R.
Pauwels, K, 2013). Hence, target markets of the organic product are mostly those households with
middle to upper income.

It is a fiction book. One because the town messina does not exist. Two because no team in history has

2)How did the main character feel during the book? Give evidences of this.
Neely Crenshaw the star quarterback for his school Messina, felt conflicted. On pg.86 He gets in a
fight with their legendary coach who is always pushing his players the hardest they can go but with

the fact that both main characters struggle with a conflict of whether or not they should love or hate
something. These books also differ because bleachers takes place in bleachers on a small hometown
football field while The lost world took place in a lost world filled with prehistoric creatures.
4) Write another short story using the same characters. (This will be a page long.)
Neely crenshaw finally decided whether or not he was going to hate or love his coach who had just
recently passed away. He decided that he was going to love him because he had realised everything
his coach did was to make him better because his coach wanted him to achieve the impossible. 2
weeks after the funeral Crenshaw came to the conclusion that he wanted to take over the coaching
position for the football team. He wanted to be the next great coach, maybe not push his team as hard
and mean as his last coach but enough to make sure they stay champions for a very long time.

How Has War Changed Over Time
In war there is death, but where in death does it change to become what is known today as modern
warfare? Was it a landmark like the first use of a tool or tactic, or is it during a time as a society? The
impactfulness of guns changed the ways wars were fought still even today, but the tanks and airplanes
changed it on even a larger aspect. The other side of the coin is that the perspective of war has
changed through the ages. It changed from an all out barbaric massacre of people, to a gentlemanly
and honorable act, to a cold and cruel mechanized meat grinder. Where did death change to become
modern? In the early 17th century, the revolutionary flintlock was invented in France, changing the
way wars were fought forever. Instead of having ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the 19th century, war was mostly fought in a gentlemanly way. Swords were exchanged when
surrendering, white gloves were worn, and soldiers did When conversations about civil war come up,
it generally is generally known as what is know as volley fire. Volley fire against massed troops
delivered effective projectiles out to 200 yards, but at 300 yards balls from muzzle loaders lost most of
their lethality. Also, while well trained soldiers could load and shoot their muskets five times per
minute, volley fire led to a collective rate of only two to three shots per minute. This tactic was mostly
used up until World War I, where trench warfare became the dominant and obvious tactic due to the
introduction to large artillery. Trench warfare is the obvious solution because when on the battlefield,
death rains to everywhere that can be seen at eye level, the only obvious idea is to dig down because
machine guns can not shoot through the ground. Trench warfare was a puzzle to break and with each
week it was not solved, millions lost their lives. When tanks entered the battlefield in 1916, the barbed
wire was able to be broken and the fire from the enemy was useless. This is where the next tactic came
to age, the blitzkreig. The blitzkrieg, translated to lightning warfare, was most notably used by the
Nazi German army by combining fast moving tanks and dive bombing aircraft to take the area and
infantry to hold the area. Within a little over a year of the first attack of Czechoslovakia, the Nazis
were able to conquer all of europe using this tactic. The problem with this is that it is not very
defensive. Once both the Soviets and the Allied forces broke through the main line, it took 9 months to
capture Berlin. Some credit this victory for the Allies for the mass amount of propaganda first
developed in World War I and perfected in World War 2.

The Keynesian Fiscal Policy Solution Aggregate Demand
The Keynesian Fiscal Policy Solution Aggregate Demand Problems
The 1920 s witnessed a rise of a new economic policy which had not yet been seen prior to the great
depression. Before the great depression, the widely accepted economic policy which was implemented
and practiced around the world was called Natural Economics. Natural Economics was a fiscal policy
that embodied the idea that the economy would eventually take care of itself and run freely without
the government s influence. However, the duration of the Great Depression was so substantial that it
exposed natural economics to be ineffective. This lead British economist John Maynard Keynes to
invent his own economic policy that he introduced to economist around the world with the ... Show

In circumstances; such as war, Keynesians economic policy provides a near perfect solution for
boosting an economy. However, without a war to force an increase in demand, an increase in
government spending would snowball into a business cycle of aggregate demand problems. Aggregate
Demand is the total demand for goods and services within a market and consists of four main
components; investment, consumption, government spending and net exports. These coincide directly
with Keynesian s economic fiscal policy. For boosting aggregate demand is the primary focus and
supposed key to Keynesians fiscal policy solution. Since aggregate demand coincides directly with
Keynesian s economic policy, all of the policy s long term problems become aggregate demand
problems. With Keynes policy s increase in government spending comes an initial boost in consumer
spending which then boosts aggregate demand. Businesses increase supply and expand to meet this
boosted demand. However once the fiscal stimulus package runs out, the once increased aggregate
demand begins to decrease. The federal reserve begins to then print more money in order to
compensate for the recently depleted fiscal package in order to maintain the aggregate demand levels.
Additional printing of money lowers the value of the dollar thus causing inflation. As inflation rates
rise in the economy consumers purchasing power decreases. With consumers purchasing power

Transformational Leadership, Policy, and Change
Leadership, Policy and Change
Julian I
Abstract
This paper will focus on how effective Leadership can influence policy and change in the United
States healthcare system. The implementation of new policy, program, and institutional change is
often meant to improve the quality of the nation s ever changing healthcare system. Several journal
articles and texts have been selected particularly with a focus on leadership strategies to improve the
quality of healthcare, and leadership s ability to influence implemented changes to the system. The
question proposed is; does leadership encourage and influence both public and private initiatives that
measure health outcomes, and organize systems to improve health services when ... Show more

If those affected choose to abdicate leadership roles, they give others power over our future as health
care professionals .
An example used to illustrate my argument that the ability of leadership to impact, new procedures,
policies, can be noted in the passage of the Affordable Care Act, as noted by Heifetz; Leadership
Without Easy Answers (2012), While the Affordable Care Act offers the potential to positively impact
health care, we have a lot of work to do as regulations are implemented at the national and state levels.
Implementation of health care reform may offer yet another test of our political system as Democrats
and Republicans play out their very different health care visions. The federal health care reform law
does not create a new system but does fill gaps in our existing system. It is a product of both a
fragmented political process, which compels compromise, and our fragmented health care system,
which limits reformers options to move away from the status quo. Strong leadership will be required
to realize the potential and promise for health care reform . I do believe that because of
transformational and transactional leadership the passage of the Affordable Care Act was possible.
Below illustrates several fundamental institutional, program, and policies changes leadership will have

Obesity Is A Bad Addiction
Obesity is anabnormal accumulation of body fat, usually 20% or more over an individual s ideal body
weight. Obesity is associated with increased risk of illness, disability, and death. National Health
recommends 2000 kcal per day; of course it varies by people s physical engagement activity.
Nowadays there are loads of statistics which show that the substantial cause of obesity is not extensive
intake of food, but lack of exercises and intake of fatty and sugary food. For instance, 30 years ago
people used to eat more than today, yet they were more physically active and they ingested more
quality food.
Obesity is certainly a bad addiction, it is one of the most common bad habits, because it is easily
accessible and it is cheap. This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indirect tax it tax that increases the price of a good, so that consumers are actually paying the tax by
paying more for the products. An indirect tax is most often thought of as a tax that is shifted from one
taxpayer to another, by way of an increase in the price of the good. Fuel, liquor and cigarette taxes are
all considered examples of indirect taxes, as many argue that the tax is actually paid by the end
consumer, by way of a higher retail price. Those taxes include VAT and duties. There are some
arguments that those taxes can be either positive or negative to economic progression.
As we can see there are two different types of indirect taxes. One is inelastic and other is elastic. They
differ because of their steepness of grading, representing the demand curve. In this case sugar would
be some kind of hybrid, because it is not fully addiction substance, but many people can t imagine day
without one. When the demand is inelastic consumer have to spend more money on the tax than
producer, which makes government to raise most revenue. However this would decrease a really small
percent of consumers, which will not be willing to buy this item. So this would allow government to
set up gradually higher prices and there would be obvious increase in the country revenue, which will
allow government to spend more money and to cover all the cost of the sugar consumption.
Tax incidence is an economic term for the division of a tax burden between

Part 1: #1 Through various sources from the past, it was relatively easy to determine the overall
perception towards Africans that dominated much of the 19th and 20th centuries. During these times,
Africans were seen as primitive and savage. They were inferior and less evolved in comparison tot
heir Western counterparts. For the most part, they believed that Africans had made little, if any,
progress since some humans left the continent and established themselves in other parts of the world.
While this viewpoint may seem ludicrous to most modern people, Westerners actually based their
claims on various theories. A major theory used to promulgate this viewpoint was the concept of
Social Darwinism. This theory holds that human beings, like other organisms, ares subject to the
concepts natural selection and survival of the fittest (kiem article). Social Darwinism was readily
employed as justifications to why Africans were inferior, and had slipped behind in the race towards
progress (connah 1). They had stopped developing a long time ago, and, as a result, continued to live
in savagery. Africa was the past, and the Western world was the present and future. Research at the
time did little to abate African stereotypes. Research mainly served the purpose of studying human
evolution rather than the place...[because it is] merely a backdrop to studies pertaining to how Western
culture has managed to establish itself as superior

Summary Of The Millennial Malcontent
Ric Knowles said, funding structures, professional regulatory mechanisms, and stage management
have their most direct impact on conditions of production , and I agree. It is more difficult for the
University of Guelph s production The Millennial Malcontent to reach its maximum potential than it is
for The Incident of The Curious Dog in The Nighttime seen at the Princess of Wales theatre. The
latter, a big name Mirvish production we saw in Toronto, was extremely high tech and explored many
topics and issues prevalent in society today. Comparatively, The Millennial Malcontent was held back
by its attempt to incorporate technology and malignant issues, and was thus lacking due to funding,
perspective, and space.
The space in which you encounter a production is vital to how it is heeded by individual members of
an audience. Knowles says theatres are ideologically coded in ways that range from enforcing class
differences and interests through the tyranny of architectonic grandeur (71), meaning the more grand
the building, the higher the audience within climbs on the social ladder. The Princess of Wales Theatre
has thousands of seats, gorgeous architecture, and a high level of grandiosity. High expectations come
with such an exceptional location and the spectators are ready to be contented. Knowles says all
performances take place within specific architectural and geographic frames that serve to shape their
meanings (66), if The Incident of The Curious Dog in The Nighttime

Communication Skills For Effective Communication
Criteria:
Based on your examples from each principle of effective communication (General, Interpersonal and
Written), describe the potential barriers (problems) to effective communication in the presentation, as
well. Remember to state the problem and then how this can affect communication.
Introduction
I am going to describe how communication skills are used effectively in the presentation.
General Communication Skills
General communication skills are a way of expression or exchanging ideas and thoughts between
people. We can use the different techniques of communication skills such as cultural differences,
adapting to audience, format of the language, accuracy of the related topic, engaging an audience and
be aware of the time zone. All these skills should be properly used between each others.
Cultural differences
It is known that cultural differences exist between people with different national traditions, languages
and religions. People may behave according to their own beliefs and this may look unusual. People
may misunderstand each other. For example Scottish and English have different accents. The words
are pronounced with a different dialect.
Other countries may have to use different meanings of the same hand gestures during the presentation.
For example same hand gestures can have a lot of different meaning in countries as United States of
America means OK, Japan means money, Russia means zero and in Brazil you can insult someone.

Racism By Kwame Anthony Appiah
Racism is a widely discussed topic, and everyone agrees that it is something that only causes harm.
People with racist views can view others from other groups as people who are lesser than them and
might use physically actions to show their dislike. In response to that, more and more people are
having their own ideas of how to identify and end racism. For example, Kwame Anthony Appiah who
brought out the idea of extrinsic racism, the perspective of utilitarianism, and the Kantian ethic are
views that show why racism is wrong and how it can be ended. Kwame Anthony Appiah who wrote
Racisms , believes that extrinsic racism is when people has a belief that different races are different
genetically and that results in different treatments. members of different races differ in respects that
warrant the differential treatment, respects, such as honesty or courage or intelligence that are
controversially held (held at least in most contemporary cultures) to be acceptable as basis for treating
people differently. (p.691) This is morally wrong to Appiah because it is not true at all. Humans are
humans, even if there are different races, the genes that contributes to race does not set different races
intelligence and moral standards, it is the teaching and environment that shapes the people. the genes
that account for the gross morphological differences that underlie our standard racial categories are not
linked to those genes that determine, to whatever degree such matters

Chemical elements can cause harmful effects on human health due to the use of plants that are grown
in contaminated soil. Through bioaccumulation, over plants that absorb an element from the soil,
elements enter into the food chain and shall be deposited in the human body. Root system in plants
plays an important role in the distribution of elements from the soil through the plant. Elevated pH
values can affect the lack of accessible forms of specific nutritious elements. The value of pH has a
decisive influence on the dynamics of all the elements in the soil, especially micro elements and heavy
metals. In the acidic environment the solubility of metals increases, they cross to the solution of the
soil from which the plant adopted them, which can lead to greater adoption of these elements by
plants. The increase in soil acidity reduces the amount of plant available phosphorus, which by

Lake Superior is the largest fresh water lake in the world by surface area and the third largest in the

Festival of Faiths in Louisville, Kentucky
Festival of Faiths in Louisville, Kentucky. This festival encourages calls on different houses of
worship and sponsors lectures on world religions. The author refers to several advocates of religious
reconciliation, including the Dalai Lama, Martin Buber, Abraham Heschel, Thomas Merton, and Pope
John Paul II. Interestingly, Professor Niebuhr seems to lack a basic understanding of the religions to
which he refers. For example, he at times misunderstands the scriptures he cites. The fundamental
teaching of the Bhagavad Gita, for example, is not selfless.... duty, which he is seemingly paralleling
to the Protestant concept of noblesse oblige. But it is indeed the more demanding Hindu practice
(yoga) of disinterested action, which demands renunciation of the fruits of any deed. Professor
Niebuhr views interfaith dialogue as a means to overpower the absolutism of fundamentalism in all
faith traditions. And yet, these are exactly the people who are the most reluctant to participate in
discussion with those of other faiths or even other Christian denominations. Professor Niebuhr sees
interfaith understanding as a civic discipline, akin to honesty in paying taxes. While many Americans
must travel a distance to discover a Sikh or Native American with whom to engage in interfaith
dialogue, Muslims are another subject. The bibliography as well as the notes is a good resource for
further reading. These resources are especially significant for a book on interfaith dialogue as

Preschool Classroom Observation
When I was observing the preschool lab there were many different activities that we kids were
involved in. There was one table for snack time, two tables for the kids who wanted to play with play
do, and then there were several other kids who were playing outside. In the room there were about 12
preschoolers and 4 teachers. I noticed that each teacher stayed with a group of about 3 4 kids. This is
important because each teacher can focus on the three or four kids they are with at that time. If the
kids need any help or assistance a teacher was always close by and paying attention to that individual
child s needs. The room was very well organized and the kids were spread out so that not all of the
kids were doing one activity at a time. Among

Arranged Marriage Research Paper
In the next 10 years, more than 100 million girls are going to be married before the age of 18. In most
cases, girls already are married off to older men when they are still children. There are so many
reasons as to why the United States has already banned child arranged marriages. Today, 20 countries
around the world still allow child arranged marriages. The points I will be discussing today are; what
child arranged marriages are, the emotional and mental effects it has on women, and lastly how the
girl s health is at serious risk. The past couple of days I have researched this topic to give me
credibility, and I have come up with some valid points as to why I believe arranged marriages are

Some Information about Rational Expectations Theory
The theory of rational expectations is particularly important for workers ideological of national
security , because it is derived from the consequences of the assumption that reaches people in social
policy in a rational way , and some of the consequences of its flavor from the ideological principles
such as the principle of expediency or Maximin Rawlsian ( see (1 ) for a survey ) . Research has
shown that the relevant bargaining in fashion that can be seen as rational from the point of the
individual s point of view , such as the Nash bargaining or Raiffa Kalai Smorodinsky bargaining , and
results in agreements that are fair in some sense. Because of the rigor of this research , much of which
depends on the mathematical proof , it is worth careful study of the effects of the ethical .
Arguments contract
One way to link an individual to work with the principle of rational thought is an argument of the
social contract . The basic idea , which goes back to Thomas Hobbes (2) , is that rational individuals
will participate in the social agreement to behave morally . They will do so because the alternative is
chaos , that life solitary , poverty and filth , irrational , and short . Most importantly , it will continue
to comply with the agreement , because (according to Hobbes ) it will install voluntarily and
authoritarian government , which gives them an incentive strong to do so.

Executive Summary
Qantas Groups performance over the 2007 to 2011 period has been relatively poor mainly as a result
of the global financial crisis adversely affecting the firm s international operations. Strategically,
Qantas is likely to continue to dominate the domestic airline industry with the success of Jetstar
prompting expansion into the Asia Pacific region. The most significant threats facing Qantas include
high fuel prices, the value of the Australian dollar and industrial action. A comprehensive financial
analysis reveals that compared to other airlines, Qantas is showing strong signs of recovery despite
there being inherent weaknesses in its liquidity. A review of the firm s annual report revealed the

The airports in major cities around the world are also operated on a monopoly basis and therefore are
able to charge airlines high fees. The above examples have showed that the bargaining power of
supplies for the airline industry is considerably large and often play an important role in the operations
and level of profitability amongst the airlines.
Rivalry among the Existing Players: The level of competition between the airlines is very high. One
reason for this is the increase in popularity of low cost airlines, who employ innovative business
models to differentiate themselves and drive the profitability of their businesses. Another reason is
attributable to the nature of operation of the airlines the marginal cost of having extra passengers on a
scheduled flight is close to zero, which implies that airlines are capable of varying the price of air
tickets from time to time, or even engaging in price wars with their rivals. For instance, the recently
banned operation of Tiger Airways has created opportunity for two other major domestic airlines in
Australia, Jetstar and Virgin Blue, to increase prices in order to take advantage of the less competitive
environment and to increase their market shares.

Graphic Design and Advertising Positive Impact on Our World.
Vision is the art of seeing the invisible ( Jonathon Swift). We have been indulging in the arts and have
used art as a way to express and interact with the people surrounding us. To the carved images on
rocks, and to the cartoons shown on the TV, the evolution of Graphic Design has shown us the
importance of typography, photographers, illustrators etc. have on our society. When paper, ink, and
pencils didn t exist, our ancestors would carve their warnings, messages, and emotions on rocks and
walls. Our ancestors don t realize that such small acts such as these was the beginning of a huge
movement, that wouldn t be recognized until thousands years later. During the 16th century, China
was able to establish a technique called woodblock printing or, the application of ink on raised curved
surface, that allowed multiple text and images to be made quickly. China s wide extension of printing
slowly reached the middle east and caused Europe to start producing woodblock broadsides and
printed books. The first printing press was constructed by Johannes Gutenberg, which was the first
metal movable type to create a large amount of printed books. In the Old days books were very rare,
expensive and were very valuable. The creation of the Printing press allowed books to be done faster,
cheaper and it allowed books to be more accessible to the public. Graphic Design or the art or skill of

Reflection On Ponics Lesson
Phonics Lesson Reflection

As a future teacher, you will be self reflecting on your teaching and the activity that you had the class
complete as part of the lessons. By reflecting on what you presented in class, you will learn how to
and what to modify in future lessons which will help you become a stronger teacher (Ed TPA). Please
answer the following prompts (honestly) with a minimum of 4 sentences for each section.
1. How do you think the lesson went?
I personally think that my lesson went pretty well. It seemed like many people were engaged and they
participated. There are things that I could have done to make the activity more challenging for the
consonant digraphs and consonant blends, but overall I think the activity was fun. I felt like the
students payed attention to when I was speaking at the beginning and the end of the activity, which
was ideal for any lesson.
2. What were the strengths about the presentation (lesson and/or teaching) and why?
The strengths of the lesson in my opinion was the fact that the students could play a game while also
participating with consonant blends and consonant digraphs. Even though throwing buttons into a cup
is fun and the lesson involved competition, it still made the students think about consonant digraphs
and consonant blends. I also think that it helped the students realize how many words are made with
consonant blends and consonant digraphs, which will help with their phonemic awareness.

Formalism In The Dark Knight
The Dark Knight The Dark Knight is an action hero film from 2008 directed and co written by
Christopher Nolan. It is Christopher Nolan s second film based on the comic hero Batman, and it s the
second movie to the 2005 Batman Begins. As Roger Ebert explains, It creates characters we come to
care about. That s because of the performances, because of the direction, because of the writing, and
because of the superlative technical quality of the entire production. The stars include Christian Bale,
Heath Ledger, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Aaron Eckhart, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan
Freeman. This is the second film to Batman Begins Batman is out to hunt down a crime mafia in
Gotham City, until a criminal named The Joker wants to make Batman fall victim to his schemes, The
Joker puts Gotham City into terror and obligates Batman to choose between being a hero or a
vigilante. Christian Bale plays Bruce Wayne also known as Batman, the protagonist who protects the
citizens of Gotham City, but at the same time throughout the movie he is forced to be in difficult
situations and has to make difficult decisions. At the same time the police department considers him a
vigilante, because Batman acts outside of the law fighting crime differently. The Dark Knight is a plot
of a classical paradigm film, but it has some aspect of formalism. In Understanding Movies 13th

Sexual Reproduction And Mating Systems Essay
Hi all, I just wanted to add information to what has been discussed. In topic 11, we learnt about
sexuality (Bingham, Paul M., and Souza J. 2009). A standout amongst the most intriguing parts of
human life is the manner by which we pick our mates. Animals likewise pick their mates, in some
cases with a lot of consideration. Mating systems are critical to comprehend in light of the fact that
they mirror the consequence of common choice on mate decision, and eventually on systems for
augmenting individual reproductive success. A mating system depicts how guys and females pair
while picking a mate. Males and females vary extraordinarily in the speculation every makes to
reproduce, and may along these lines approach mating with contrasting procedures. At the point when
picking mates, animals develop species regular systems for amplifying their reproductive success this
outcomes in significant diversity qualities among animal species in their mating patterns. In particular,
sexual reproduction frequently includes evolutionary differentiation of males and females. Females
commonly create fundamentally less gametes (eggs) than males and invest heavily in every one. Then
again, males produce numerous gametes (sperm) and put little into every one. These solid contrasts in
gamete investment between the genders prompts reproductive procedures between the genders that,
now and again, struggle. Females may spend more care than males selecting a mate because of the
high cost of their

Who Is James Taggart In Atlas Shrugged
James Taggart in Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand In the novel Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, one of the
major philosophies that is instilled is that there are productive people in the world and non productive

represent the individuals in society who are unproductive, weak and who thrive off other s success.

After Dagny s resignation from Taggart Transcontinental, James randomly without any consideration
put an inexperienced individual in her place, Clifton Locey. Locey had made arrangements for Dr.
Charles Morrison to travel on a diesel engine train to an important business meeting. The president of
Taggart Transcontinental, James, did not inquire in any means about this schedule, and was abruptly
awoken in the middle of the night by Dr. Morrison himself through an angry telegram. James was
highly intimidated by Morrison s words and called Locey to tell him to fix the situation immediately
as well as to tell Locey that he was never called in the night when Dagny was in control. These words
from James support, once again, the concept that he relies on more competent individuals of society,
and how he does not take responsibility when it is necessary. The words that James said to Locey also
imply that the success of Taggart Transcontinental was completely due to Dagny, and how she ran the
company. This point is magnified in the following actions taken by James once he finds out that the
Taggart Tunnel has collapsed, as well as the explosion between the diesel engine train and the Army
Munitions killed everyone on board. James immediately contacts Dagny though her assistant Eddie,
and then he destroys Dagny s resignation letter once she arrives at Taggart Transcontinental. James
actions are seen as highly manipulative, as well as irresponsible. James ignored the extreme situations
that were occurring at the company and used it to entice Dagny to return to Taggart Transcontinental.
These previously mentioned actions taken by James were foreseen by his first words in the novel,
which implied his evasion of his obligations, and his destructive and selfish

Does Nitric Acid Affect The Synthesis Of Nitroacetanilide
In this experiment, nitric acid and sulfuric acid were mixed to form nitronium ions, hydronium ions,
and hydrogen sulfate ions. The amide on the acetanilide is an electron donating group, an activator,
which means that when an activated electrophile is added to the acetanilide, it will add in the ortho,
para positions. In this case, the activated electrophile is the nitronium ions, which react with the
acetanilide and form an arenium ion. Then, the hydrogen sulfate ions pull off the hydrogen that is
attached to the same carbon as the nitronium ion, allowing the lone pair that is now on the carbon the
hydrogen left from to form a double bond with the electron deficient (positively charged) carbon next
to it. The products formed are the ortho and para substitutions of nitroacetanilide. ... Show more

they are known to secrete mucus, gastric juices and tears into the different ducts within the body. They
are also known for absorption and this is because they line the intestines and are responsible for
absorbing nutrients from digested food. The propulsion role has been found within the columnar cells
because they have been found in the lining of organs such as the fallopian tubes and lungs. Within
these organs they are known to move together to help propel material in one direction, in the case of
the lungs they are able to move mucus from within the lungs into the throat and within the fallopian
tubes they are known for moving eggs through th fallopian tubes and into the uterus. The last role of
the columnar cells is protection and this is because they are designed to protect the tissues in which

such as the ears, nose, taste buds, digestive tract, lungs and fallopian tubes simple squamous

Bushnell has two features to increase light transmission in the Elite Tactical scope. The first is the
oversize 50mm objective lens. A larger objective lens, or opening, simply allows the scope to gather
more light. This makes vision in low light conditions much better. Second, Bushnell applies their Ultra
Wide Band Coating to the lenses to cut down light reflection. Both of these features combine to
maximize this scope s light gathering ability.
Weatherproof

Teenage Suicide Is Becoming Increasingly More Common

and 4 videos. They should be prioritized in order of importance. They should be numbered.
The team must then come up with an actionable recommendation for each of the issues found. These

you are reviewing each week. What it takes includes your working together via the iConnect venue,
Team Discussions, and individual efforts all coming together as team efforts.
Be sure to use the skills and talents each of you has from your education programs and/or work

make a huge difference in these deliverables. Work together, uncover what you do (as well as do not)
know about CanGo and your recommendations, and be prepared for the rewards of efforts that will
demonstrate your future successes in this course, at work, with charities, and in your personal lives.
Team Leader Weekly Status Report
Each week, it is the weekly Team Leader s responsibility to complete and submit the Weekly Status
Report to track the team s activities and progress on current projects. This is also the place to point out
any developing issues with team members who are failing to perform their share of the work, or to
address any other issues that may affect team performance. Identify your Weekly Team Status Report

  • 2. Lov Fiasco Case Brief HESPERIAAuthorities say a 45 year old man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly attacking a bus driver. At around 10:20 a.m., Deputy LoVasco from the San Bernardino County Sheriff s Hesperia Station was flagged down by a motorist who witnessed a male passenger attacking a Victor Valley Transit bus driver. A male passenger got up and attacked the driver and was armed with a knife, said Sgt. Doug Hubbard. After the attack, the bus had stopped at an intersection eastbound at Bear Valley Road and I Avenue in the left turn lane, Hubbard said. Through investigation and witness accounts, authorities learned that the suspect, identified as Ala Nifo, of Hawaii, suddenly, and what appeared to be without provocation, attacked the bus driver when they stopped ... After the citizen was able to flag down one of our deputies, he then made contact with the suspect and was in a brief struggle, Hubbard said. Nifo reportedly continued to be combative and fought with LoVasco before he was able the deputy again deployed the Taser, which finally gained the suspect s compliance. Nifo was taken into custody without further incident and a knife was recovered at the scene, officials said. The bus driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. The bus was occupied with approximately 18 other passengers at the time of the attack, officials said. No one else reported injuries in the incident. It was unclear Wednesday afternoon what provoked the attack or what Nifo s intent was, officials said. • 3. Age Discrimination At The Workplace Age Discrimination in the Workplace American workforce is getting older. Fact, in between 1970 to 1991, the workforce number over the age of 40 in the U.S. has increased from 39,689,000 to 53,940,000. Because of that, the legislative and judicial developments in the age discrimination in employment have occurred (1). The baby boomer generation Americans born between 1946 and 1964 represents more than seventy million workers in the U.S. workplace, and that around 50 percent of the whole workforce. The whole baby boomer generation since 2006 has falls under the protection of the federal laws against acts of discrimination based of age (ADEA) (2). In 2011 more than 40 million people in the United States are ages 65 and older. Moreover, this number will increase to 89 million and that is more than double by 2050. Age discrimination is continuing, as the workforce is growing old (3). A study by the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics shows that the older workers unemployed longer than younger (4). Age discrimination is harmful not only to the individuals who experience it. In 2004 alone, the cost of negotiated settlements of federal age discrimination complaints totaled $69 million . Age discrimination is possibly the most damaging of the various cases of discrimination that occur in the workplace. According to Collins English Dictionary, ageism is the discrimination regarding to the age, especially against the elderly. People who are in their middle of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Rome Was Different From The Steppes Rome was different from the steppes. For one, there were more trees. Dense forests dotted the landscape back east but here in the west they rolled on for miles and miles, making it harder for the large horde to travel on horseback. At least the roads helped. Romans were meticulous about their roads, and their insistence about the width made it easier for riders to ride two by two, as well as for the large carts to pass through unscathed. Roads to the east were merely dirt paths carved over time, little more than dirt impressions winding through a sea of grass. Although grateful for them, Attila didn t need the roads. Despite the trees he could have navigated his men through the thick forests, though it would have admittedly taken ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was a damning piece of parchment. Her brother had been sending legions to the east to stop the encroaching Huns. He would not have allowed his sister to write the letter and if he had been entertaining the idea of an alliance, then he would have written it himself. This was treason. Yet the idea was intriguing. Attila had been married once before, but both his wife and child were dead and buried alongside the trails in the steppes. With no legitimate heir to his dynasty, there had already been quarrels amongst the host as to who should step in if, and more importantly when, the king died. Some suggested one of his acknowledged sons from the trail women. Though not born of a proper union, they were still his blood. Others said that he should pick from his most trusted generals. Attila had made no decision either way, however. In fact the inferred idea that he would not sire any more children offended him. He was a young man, not a lecher too old to rise to the occasion... He could still father a true heir. And who better than a princess from the west, beautiful and young, and considering the ring that Attila had wrapped around his neck with a bit of leather, who was also eager to become his wife? So the decision was made. Attila chose from the main host a few hundred men to accompany him to Rome. It was dangerous riding into the heart of the empire but with a smaller group travelling with him, it would be easier to avoid patrols and outposts. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The main topics I will talk about in the essay will be the violence the country went through and the health effects on its citizens. The lead, up to the 2007 elections, the two main parties that were fighting for government were the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and Party of National Unity (PNU), these two parties were supported by different ethnic groups in the country. The ODM was backed by Luo, Luhya and Kalenjin, tribes represented in the Western Provinces and Rift Valley, while the PNU was supported by Kikuyu, tribe based in the Central and Eastern Provinces and strongly represented in the capital Nairobi, the Coast Province and Rift Valley. Approximately 70% voters came out to participate the country s highest ever percentage at that time. Polling results published before the election showed that Raila Odinga head of the ODM party with a small lead. However, on 30 December 2007, Kenya s Electoral Commission announced that Mwai Kibaki the head of the PNU the winner. Odinga and the ODM rejected the results, stating the elections had been rigged, with which foreign election observers agreed. The announcement of the results triggered widespread and systematic violence, resulting in more than 1,000 deaths and the displacement of over 600,000 civilians. Clashes were mostly ethnically targeted killings of those aligned with the PNU and ODM against each other. This quote from the Greek tragedy, The Oresteia by Aeschylus, introduces readers to a theme of the piece: the role of women. Furthermore, this tragedy gives the reader a view on how women played a role in ancient Greek society. Additionally, it highlights the reaction, from Greek men, to women in leadership roles. In the following, you will find a historical account of the role of Greek women, and how Aeschylus shows a different role of women. After reading this quote, one can see that even a murder by a woman is seen as having less weight. Despite the cruelty of the murder, Clytemnestra killed her husband / king to get revenge for him killing their daughter years prior. Essentially, King Agamemnon sacrificed his and Clytemnestra s daughter for better luck in a war. Furthermore, he was never punished for this killing. Therefore, seeing that the male led judicial system failed to uphold justice, Clytemnestra took it into her own hands. Overall, this shows a woman recognizing that justice was being put to the wayside and taking action to make it right. Now, Aeschylus did not explain if Clytemnestra tried to advocate for her husband to be punished for her late daughters killing. But, he does make clear that she is not happy with the way in which the counsel dealt with it. Not surprisingly, a woman in charge of a kingdom would not be taken so lightly in ancient Greece. As a clear example of this, Clytemnestra s taking of the reins while the king was at war, was met with a fair amount of backlash. Although not publically scrutinized, Clytemnestra was seen as not fit for the position because of her gender. In fact, this is very clear when news of the war ending reached Argos. When the watchman told the queen about Troy being beaten, Clytemnestra took the news directly to the counsel. When she relayed the message, she was met with skepticism. For example, a chorus ... Was it a landmark like the first use of a tool or tactic, or is it during a time as a society? The other side of the coin is that the perspective of war has changed through the ages. Swords were exchanged when surrendering, white gloves were worn, and soldiers did When conversations about civil war come up, it generally is generally known as what is know as volley fire. Volley fire against massed troops delivered effective projectiles out to 200 yards, but at 300 yards balls from muzzle loaders lost most of their lethality. Also, while well trained soldiers could load and shoot their muskets five times per minute, volley fire led to a collective rate of only two to three shots per minute. This tactic was mostly used up until World War I, where trench warfare became the dominant and obvious tactic due to the introduction to large artillery. Trench warfare is the obvious solution because when on the battlefield, death rains to everywhere that can be seen at eye level, the only obvious idea is to dig down because machine guns can not shoot through the ground. Trench warfare was a puzzle to break and with each week it was not solved, millions lost their lives. When tanks entered the battlefield in 1916, the barbed wire was able to be broken and the fire from the enemy was useless. This is where the next tactic came to age, the blitzkreig. The blitzkrieg, translated to lightning warfare, was most notably used by the Nazi German army by combining fast moving tanks and dive bombing aircraft to take the area and infantry to hold the area. Within a little over a year of the first attack of Czechoslovakia, the Nazis were able to conquer all of europe using this tactic. The problem with this is that it is not very defensive. Natural Economics was a fiscal policy that embodied the idea that the economy would eventually take care of itself and run freely without the government s influence. In circumstances; such as war, Keynesians economic policy provides a near perfect solution for boosting an economy. However, without a war to force an increase in demand, an increase in government spending would snowball into a business cycle of aggregate demand problems. Aggregate Demand is the total demand for goods and services within a market and consists of four main components; investment, consumption, government spending and net exports. These coincide directly with Keynesian s economic fiscal policy. For boosting aggregate demand is the primary focus and supposed key to Keynesians fiscal policy solution. Since aggregate demand coincides directly with Keynesian s economic policy, all of the policy s long term problems become aggregate demand problems. With Keynes policy s increase in government spending comes an initial boost in consumer spending which then boosts aggregate demand. Businesses increase supply and expand to meet this boosted demand. However once the fiscal stimulus package runs out, the once increased aggregate demand begins to decrease. The federal reserve begins to then print more money in order to compensate for the recently depleted fiscal package in order to maintain the aggregate demand levels. Additional printing of money lowers the value of the dollar thus causing inflation. As inflation rates rise in the economy consumers purchasing power decreases. Implementation of health care reform may offer yet another test of our political system as Democrats and Republicans play out their very different health care visions. The federal health care reform law does not create a new system but does fill gaps in our existing system. It is a product of both a fragmented political process, which compels compromise, and our fragmented health care system, which limits reformers options to move away from the status quo. Indirect tax it tax that increases the price of a good, so that consumers are actually paying the tax by paying more for the products. An indirect tax is most often thought of as a tax that is shifted from one taxpayer to another, by way of an increase in the price of the good. Fuel, liquor and cigarette taxes are all considered examples of indirect taxes, as many argue that the tax is actually paid by the end consumer, by way of a higher retail price. Those taxes include VAT and duties. There are some arguments that those taxes can be either positive or negative to economic progression. As we can see there are two different types of indirect taxes. One is inelastic and other is elastic. They differ because of their steepness of grading, representing the demand curve. In this case sugar would be some kind of hybrid, because it is not fully addiction substance, but many people can t imagine day without one. When the demand is inelastic consumer have to spend more money on the tax than producer, which makes government to raise most revenue. Questions On The Midterm Exam Ivana Ezeude ANTH 312 7 October 2016 Midterm Exam Part 1: #1 Through various sources from the past, it was relatively easy to determine the overall perception towards Africans that dominated much of the 19th and 20th centuries. During these times, Africans were seen as primitive and savage. They were inferior and less evolved in comparison tot heir Western counterparts. For the most part, they believed that Africans had made little, if any, progress since some humans left the continent and established themselves in other parts of the world. While this viewpoint may seem ludicrous to most modern people, Westerners actually based their claims on various theories. A major theory used to promulgate this viewpoint was the concept of Social Darwinism. This theory holds that human beings, like other organisms, ares subject to the concepts natural selection and survival of the fittest (kiem article). Social Darwinism was readily employed as justifications to why Africans were inferior, and had slipped behind in the race towards progress (connah 1). They had stopped developing a long time ago, and, as a result, continued to live in savagery. Africa was the past, and the Western world was the present and future. Summary Of The Millennial Malcontent Ric Knowles said, funding structures, professional regulatory mechanisms, and stage management have their most direct impact on conditions of production , and I agree. It is more difficult for the University of Guelph s production The Millennial Malcontent to reach its maximum potential than it is for The Incident of The Curious Dog in The Nighttime seen at the Princess of Wales theatre. The latter, a big name Mirvish production we saw in Toronto, was extremely high tech and explored many topics and issues prevalent in society today. Comparatively, The Millennial Malcontent was held back by its attempt to incorporate technology and malignant issues, and was thus lacking due to funding, perspective, and space. The space in which you encounter a production is vital to how it is heeded by individual members of an audience. Knowles says theatres are ideologically coded in ways that range from enforcing class differences and interests through the tyranny of architectonic grandeur (71), meaning the more grand the building, the higher the audience within climbs on the social ladder. The Princess of Wales Theatre has thousands of seats, gorgeous architecture, and a high level of grandiosity. High expectations come with such an exceptional location and the spectators are ready to be contented. We can use the different techniques of communication skills such as cultural differences, adapting to audience, format of the language, accuracy of the related topic, engaging an audience and be aware of the time zone. All these skills should be properly used between each others. Cultural differences It is known that cultural differences exist between people with different national traditions, languages and religions. People may behave according to their own beliefs and this may look unusual. People may misunderstand each other. For example Scottish and English have different accents. People with racist views can view others from other groups as people who are lesser than them and might use physically actions to show their dislike. For example, Kwame Anthony Appiah who brought out the idea of extrinsic racism, the perspective of utilitarianism, and the Kantian ethic are views that show why racism is wrong and how it can be ended. Kwame Anthony Appiah who wrote Racisms , believes that extrinsic racism is when people has a belief that different races are different genetically and that results in different treatments. members of different races differ in respects that warrant the differential treatment, respects, such as honesty or courage or intelligence that are controversially held (held at least in most contemporary cultures) to be acceptable as basis for treating people differently. (p.691) This is morally wrong to Appiah because it is not true at all. Humans are humans, even if there are different races, the genes that contributes to race does not set different races intelligence and moral standards, it is the teaching and environment that shapes the people. the genes that account for the gross morphological differences that underlie our standard racial categories are not linked to those genes that determine, to whatever degree such matters ... Please answer the following prompts (honestly) with a minimum of 4 sentences for each section. 1. How do you think the lesson went? I personally think that my lesson went pretty well. It seemed like many people were engaged and they participated. There are things that I could have done to make the activity more challenging for the consonant digraphs and consonant blends, but overall I think the activity was fun. I felt like the students payed attention to when I was speaking at the beginning and the end of the activity, which was ideal for any lesson. 2. What were the strengths about the presentation (lesson and/or teaching) and why? The strengths of the lesson in my opinion was the fact that the students could play a game while also participating with consonant blends and consonant digraphs. Even though throwing buttons into a cup is fun and the lesson involved competition, it still made the students think about consonant digraphs and consonant blends. A standout amongst the most intriguing parts of human life is the manner by which we pick our mates. Animals likewise pick their mates, in some cases with a lot of consideration. Mating systems are critical to comprehend in light of the fact that they mirror the consequence of common choice on mate decision, and eventually on systems for augmenting individual reproductive success. A mating system depicts how guys and females pair while picking a mate. Males and females vary extraordinarily in the speculation every makes to reproduce, and may along these lines approach mating with contrasting procedures. At the point when picking mates, animals develop species regular systems for amplifying their reproductive success this outcomes in significant diversity qualities among animal species in their mating patterns. In particular, sexual reproduction frequently includes evolutionary differentiation of males and females. These solid contrasts in gamete investment between the genders prompts reproductive procedures between the genders that, now and again, struggle. Who Is James Taggart In Atlas Shrugged James Taggart in Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand In the novel Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand, one of the major philosophies that is instilled is that there are productive people in the world and non productive people. Rand makes it apparent that there are increasing numbers of ineffective individuals who take advantage of the constructive people in society. James Taggart is the main symbol that Rand utilises to represent the individuals in society who are unproductive, weak and who thrive off other s success. After Dagny s resignation from Taggart Transcontinental, James randomly without any consideration put an inexperienced individual in her place, Clifton Locey. Locey had made arrangements for Dr. Charles Morrison to travel on a diesel engine train to an important business meeting. The president of Taggart Transcontinental, James, did not inquire in any means about this schedule, and was abruptly awoken in the middle of the night by Dr. Morrison himself through an angry telegram. James was highly intimidated by Morrison s words and called Locey to tell him to fix the situation immediately as well as to tell Locey that he was never called in the night when Dagny was in control. These words from James support, once again, the concept that he relies on more competent individuals of society, and how he does not take responsibility when it is necessary. The words that James said to Locey also imply that the success of Taggart Transcontinental was completely due to Dagny, and how she ran the company. This point is magnified in the following actions taken by James once he finds out that the Taggart Tunnel has collapsed, as well as the explosion between the diesel engine train and the Army Munitions killed everyone on board. James immediately contacts Dagny though her assistant Eddie, and then he destroys Dagny s resignation letter once she arrives at Taggart Transcontinental. James actions are seen as highly manipulative, as well as irresponsible. James ignored the extreme situations that were occurring at the company and used it to entice Dagny to return to Taggart Transcontinental. These previously mentioned actions taken by James were foreseen by his first words in the novel, which implied his evasion of his obligations, and his destructive and selfish ... • 35. Does Nitric Acid Affect The Synthesis Of Nitroacetanilide In this experiment, nitric acid and sulfuric acid were mixed to form nitronium ions, hydronium ions, and hydrogen sulfate ions. The amide on the acetanilide is an electron donating group, an activator, which means that when an activated electrophile is added to the acetanilide, it will add in the ortho, para positions. In this case, the activated electrophile is the nitronium ions, which react with the acetanilide and form an arenium ion. Then, the hydrogen sulfate ions pull off the hydrogen that is attached to the same carbon as the nitronium ion, allowing the lone pair that is now on the carbon the hydrogen left from to form a double bond with the electron deficient (positively charged) carbon next to it. The products formed are the ortho and para substitutions of nitroacetanilide. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The crude solid was dissolved in hot ethanol and then, was allowed to cool.
