Vedic education was centered around spiritual knowledge and development of character. There were four main Vedas - Rig, Sama, Yajur, and Atharva - that formed the basis of curriculum. Education was provided through the gurukul system and differed according to caste, with Brahmins focusing on language and rituals. The teacher-student relationship was authoritarian, with students serving their gurus. Overall, Vedic education aimed to develop a balanced personality and help students progress through different life stages to ultimately achieve moksha or self-realization.
