A Certain Oil Refinery
The passage I will analyze in this close reading is from the works of Theodore
Dreiser in his newspaper article named A Certain Oil Refinery . In the article,
Dreiser offers a very bleak and realistic description of an oil refinery in Bayonne,
New Jersey. He describes the crude working environment in which the workers find
themselves toiling day and night in the dark, sinister caverns of the refinery. The
whole article gives off a feeling of industrial realism, illustrating the darksome
rooftops of the factories and the dreary, unkempt environment its smoke was
producing. In the passage, he pays particularly close attention to the work done there
and the workers doing it. He moves on from describing the outside of the refinery and
the actual town it is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He uses an example of vat filling to illustrate the sheer simplicity by saying: the
filling of one [vat] and another, for instance, and letting the same settle;
introducing into one [vat] and another a given measure of chemicals... (Dreiser,
188). The whole process is illustrated to be one lacking any sense of creativity or
other mental skill, which adds to the misery that Dreiser is describing in his
article. In the last part of the passage, Dreiser makes an interesting observation.
After having described the scene of the refinery and the work at the plant, he goes
on to wonder why men would work in such a place. He seems to be intrigued by
the fact that ...men work and toil here in a sickening atmosphere of blackness and
shadow, of vile odors, of vile substances, of vile surroundings (Dreiser, 188). Again,
the description Dreiser offers us is one of realistic details, recounting the dreadful
and abominable working conditions people chose to give themselves up to for
compensation. The scene Dreiser is painting in this passage is that of a very vile and
repulsive environment. He uses descriptions of the work within the plant to help
describe the

So, after reading all of this, what do you think about Lisa Kudrow? I, personally,
would love to have her on my friends list. She stands about 5 8 in height, has blond
hair and green eyes. She is an absolute beauty plus she is intelligent and has a great
sense of humor. In case you didn t know, People magazine viewed Kudrow as being
one of the Most Beautiful People in the World in 1997.
Just to recap just a few of her credits, Kudrow received many professional honors
including awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor (Screen Actors

HBO came to them with the idea. Can you believe it? Simultaneously, Kudrow is
hosting the improvisational network broadcast, Web Therapy with Jon Hamm,
Gwyneth Paltrow and Allison Janney on Showtime. Matt Leblanc appeared in
Kudrow s Web Therapy a time or two.
Kudrow also attended Milk Studios 2015 Vulture Festival in New York this spring.
Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner of Difficult People were there to mingle with the
star. No matter where she goes, it would seem that someone is asking the proverbial
question: Will there ever be a reunion for the cast and crew of Friends? Kudrow
answers by saying that they all can t even meet for dinner. Apparently, they all live in
different states so, getting together can be impossible, to say the least. However, they
do try to stay in touch.
Leblanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer haven t had much fame or success
when it comes to securing roles since 2004, but the girls, Courteney Cox and
Jennifer Aniston, have had plenty of other engagements to keep them occupied. I

Joey, played by Leblanc, is by far the most laughable and adored male character on
the show. Leblanc attempted a spinoff of the series with Joey, but it didn t do well at

Issac Newton had contributed many scientific research during his life, but he was
known for defining the laws of gravity and understanding universal law. Issac
Newton work was considered enlightenment because he was understanding the
functions of nature law. He would mention of how gravity cause certain actions to
the world. He mentions that sea gravitates towards the moon: all the planets

come with theories of motion and gravity for the outcome of what people saw in
their daily life. Issac Newton ideas weren t considered radical during that time
because majority of the people started to believe in natural law. People thought

Bromothymol Blue Lab Report
Objective
The purpose of this experiment was to determine the pKa of the bromothymol blue
(indicator) through absorption spectroscopy. Bromothymol blue being a monoprotic
acid base indicator, displays different colors at different pH because of the
differences in the ratio of the conjugated acid and base form. The fraction of
conjugate acid and base was interpolated for the solutions through the acquired
absorbance spectrum of the bromothymol blue at various pH. The rearranged form of
Henderson Hasselbalch equation was graphed as a function of pH to determine the
pKa of the indicator.
Methods
Approximately 3.4 grams of K2HPO4 was weighed on a triple beam balance and
dissolved in 100.00 mL of DI water by diluting to the mark in a volumetric flask.
Similarly, 2.4 grams of NaHPO4 was weighed on triple beam balance and dissolved
in 100.00 mL of DI water by diluting to the mark in a volumetric flask.
Seven clean 100 mL volumetric flasks were obtained and 2.00 mL of 1.551 Г—10^(

reagents including K2HPO4, NaHPO4 and NaOH were added though volumetric
pipets as instructed in the table below:
The objective of this experiment, to determine the pKa of bromothymol blue, was
accomplished spectrophotometrically. Bromothymol blue is a monoprotic acid (HIn),

The Importance Of Being Used During The Classical
Period...
In the first movement of Wolfgang Mozart s piece Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, it
presents numerous features of what is being used during the classical period of
music. The recording that was made by the Prague Chamber Orchestra is a good
way to hear all of the classical features in the first movement. The first movement is
the first track on the album that was published in 1985. While it has an excellent
recording of the movement, it is not a traditional quartet but a larger ensemble.
Along with that, the score to the piece itself is a good aid to see the features
presented as well. It is a good visual aid to pinpoint where the classical features are
in the first movement, and it is good to use along with the audio recording so the
listener can see where the features may be without fully analyzing the movement,
despite it being a mini score. With its features, it is also in a very popular form that
was used during the classical period. In his article Sonata Form , James Webster
breaks down and describes what sonata form is and how it was used. He also
briefly discusses the distinction between sonata form and its other related forms
even though the first movement to Mozart s piece is in one version of the sonata
form. One biography about Wolfgang Mozart, which was found on The
Biography.com, discusses his entire life. They talk about from when he was just a
child learning to how no one knows he died. Although it does go into great detail, it
does not mention his

What Is The Dialogue Between The Misfit And The

Grandmother and also The Misfit facilitate to point out problems on each a
personal and whole society level. O Connor crafts two characters that just about

applied to a bigger scale. The dialogue between the Misfit and the Grandmother in A
Good Man is Hard to Findtries to tackle deep queries of ethicsand what a good man

This is not unwarranted, as she merely tries to get out of the situation alive,
nevertheless it calls into question her character and also the strength of her
convictions. It conjointly makes the readers themselves question their own morals;
what would they be doing during a similar state of affairs? The reader will feel
sympathy for the Grandmother during this dangerous situation, nevertheless it s her
actions because what she says progresses and that causes the reader to pause and
actually question the character of the Grandmother. The Misfit s accomplices take
her family, as they re taken into the woods and shot dead. Throughout this point, the
Grandmother appears to solely be centered on preservation, along with her solely
recognition of something awry being after two isolated yells of Bailey Boy! O
Connor is showing the character of not just the Grandmother, however what she
perceives to be the common trend in 1950 s culture. The concept of family unity and
selflessness, even by people who propagate the concept, is forgotten once the
individual is vulnerable.
Whereas O Connor will have hints of existential philosophy with reference to the
individual, she is ultimately influenced deeply by her Catholic upbringing. This ends
up in the Grandmother being a highly religious character, perpetually asking the
Misfit if he prays. Whereas on the surface it might seem obvious the grandmother is a
more religious person than the Misfit , but in

Alex is the main character and the narrator of the novel; he gives us insight into
the minds of the unimaginably violent youth. He is, very likely, a sociopath he
greatly enjoys classical music and seems to be quite the escapist in this instance.
When he is not enjoying his music, he is the leader of a ruthless gang that haunts
the streets and attacks civilians at will. He is proud of his position as leader, but he
also possesses a self righteous arrogance that he uses to try to separate himself from
the pointless brutality of his gang. He is lost in his own kingdom, the one he has

F. Alexander s Cottage is in the countryside, ideal and marked HOME. It s a place
that would seem to be more safe than any other place to be and yet F. Alexander and
his wife are not exempt from the horrors that Alex and his gang decide to enact upon
them. It ironically ends up becoming a sanctuary to Alex later in the novel where
once he inflicted pain and damage, he now must seek refuge.
4. A Clockwork Orange was written in 1962 during a time where sexuality and
violence was becoming less censured in the media while the individuals who were
exposed to it became more jaded. Shows were becoming increasingly popular,
especially those that dealt with the future and the examination of the human
condition. This new obsession with the future likely stemmed from the scientific
advancements of the time and an interest of what might follow should it continue to
progress; the heightened obsession of human nature was probably influenced by the
conflicting desires to conform (think suburbs ) and establish individualism (in the
form of the new and accessible statements of fashion, television, and most especially,
music) as well as a fear of societies that would desire to control their people to the
point that there is
Mass Murderers Research Paper
The words mass murderers are two simple words that describe and categorize an
enormous group of people. Mass murderers are a danger to society and it is vital to
understand the diversity of these people. These criminals come in two types that
branch off into several subtypes. The profile of a mass murderer contains a specific
set of traits. These people are driven by a wide array of motives. To achieve their
goals, mass murderers utilize several different methods to fulfill their intentions. The
controversy of punishment inevitably arises when the subject of mass murderers
arise. The study of mass murderers is a study that requires breaking down the
numerous building blocks that make up a mass murderer, from their motives to their

A primary trait of a mass murderer is social isolation. For example, Elliot Rodger
of the 2014 Isla Vista massacre slaughtered his fellow classmates and notably had
not had any friends since grade school (Kleinfeld, et al.). Another common trait
among mass murderers is psychological narcissism, another trait possessed by
Rodger who claimed that the world was being unfair to him and that he deserved
girls (Rodger). Two more traits of mass murderers are paranoia and depression,
both of which were distinctly documented in one of the Columbine High School
shooters, David Klebold. He was recorded by investigations to be paranoid and
depressed in addition to his own journals claiming that everything and everyone in
the world hates him (Sancier)(Klebold). Mass murderers are also known to have be
physically abusive like the Kansas shooter, Cedric Ford, a man with a notable history
of abuse and violence in his relationships. Finally, mass murderers are often suicidal,
explaining the many cases of suicides after shootings. For example, the Albertville
Realschule shooter: Tim Kretschmer killed numerous people before committing
suicide upon confrontation. Understanding traits helps to build and analyze the
profile of mass
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
CS was first described by Dr. David G Cogan in 1945 as a non syphilitic interstitial
keratitis with vestibuloauditory symptoms (1). CS is rare, with fewer than 250
reported cases in the literature, and is mostly described in young adult Caucasian
patients of both sexes (2). CS is an extremely rare disorder in Arabic and Middle
Eastern countries(3). The novelty of this study is represented by being the first case
reported within Jordanian population that is 7 million people.
The classical form of ocular involvement in CS is characterized by the interstitial
keratitis, but also, iritis or uveitis, scleritis or episcleritis, and conjunctivitis have been
also described, and the atypical CS exists in the absence of interstitial keratitis (2).
Some systemic manifestations have been reported in association with CS, including
vasculitis of the aorta leading to aortic aneurysm and/or aortic valve regurgitation,
fever, arthralgia (or arthritis), lymphadenopathy, splenomegaly, skin rash, and
peripheral or central nervous system involvement (2, 4).
The ocular involvement in CS usually gives a good response to topical corticosteroids
therapy, while, systemic corticosteroids are reserved for unresponsive cases or those
with posterior uveitis, it was reported that poor long term ophthalmologic outcomes
due to CS are unusual in contrast to vestibuloauditory affection(4).
Deafness is the most common serious outcome of CS and systemic corticosteroid
therapy is warranted as soon as

Potential students of social work can learn about the differences in the electives
offered. Each elective is different but they are all connected to being a social
worker. You need to focus on courses that have critical thinking for a broad
understanding of the liberal arts. Here is a list of different liberal arts classes that can
help students understand what makes up the core of the degree. Social Sciences, Legal
and financial Studies, Gerontology, Community Systems and dynamics, Leadership,
Communication Skills, Applied Research Skills, Evidence based practice,
Sustainability/Environmental Justice, International Studies and Substance Use and
Abuse. Within each elective, you have a more focused way to help individuals and

It s important to have this diversity to know what core elective that you have
learned and can pull that information and knowledge from in order to help. This
diversity makes it easier to help a broader base than if they were fewer electives.
Some students may want to concentrate on one elective more than others as a
potential profession. Each elective is a form of understanding and order. The
understanding is what that skill is for example if you wanted to concentrate on Legal
and Financial studies than you would focus on the understanding of the legal and
financial systems. Most of the fields of social work encounter a legal issue whether
you are helping a client needing a guardianship or if you might be helping them with
immigration just to name a few. These electives will inform you of the skills that
will help you in having a solid

The song American Pie is a representation of loss during the transition into the
1970s. It was written in 1971 by Don McLean and filled with his views on the state
of society, political changes, and cultural changes. The cultural changes and the loss
of everything society knew produced the lost generation that McLean was apart of.
He demonstrated his disapproval of the direction of the country by using music, faith,
and war as examples of the changes and loss his generation faced.
Music heavily influences and creates a voice for the people of the time period it is
written in and also reflects the tone of the time period. Mclean s generation was
impacted greatly by classic rock and roll artists, such as Elvis Presley and Buddy
Holly. Music direction and message portrayed the prosperous nature of the 1950s
and what life was like before the 1970s. The change in music direction rooted from a
tragedy that Mclean recognized with the verse, But February made me shiver . In
February 3, 1959 Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valensand J.P. Richardson died in a plane
crash. Theses musicians were Mclean s heroes and rock and roll legends. McLean
considered this to be the day the music died . After their deaths, music drastically
changed. New musicians and styles of music came into play. Buddy Holly and the
other musicians before the Vietnam war sang uplifting songs or songs with religious
references. The verse A long long time ago, is referring to the time period of rock and

Quickbooks Software, Created And Developed By Intuit Inc.
Introduction
QuickBooks software, created and developed by Intuit Inc., is one of the most
widely used small business accounting information systems in the world. QuickBooks
accounting software let people manage their business with little or no experience.
QuickBooks is designed to facilitate financial division in creating, recording and
tracking business transactional records that are necessary for producing financial
statement analysis reports. The purpose of my report is to have a general view about
QuickBooks such as its functions.
Main functions
QuickBooks has a lot of functionalities. There are five basic functions of QuickBooks:
Vendors, Customers, Employees, Company, and Banking (Viau, 2013). All of these
functionalities are vital to the integrity of your company file. Below, I will focus
mainly on Vendors. Vendors is the first function appeared in the top left corner. The
vendors function is primarily used by most businesses for the sole purpose of the
Enter Bills Pay Bills function along with Vendor Center. Other functions include
Purchase Orders, Receive Inventory and the subsequent Enter Bills Against Inventory
(Intuit, 2014). In the end this function is associated with Accounts Payable (A/P)
because it is money owed to an existing party and is counted as a liability on your
balance sheet. After Vendors comes Customers; this is where Accounts Receivable
works or better known as A/R. Most of the functions in Customers are quite useful.

Fence Rail Research Paper
Has the chain link fence rail surrounding your commercial property recently been
bent in a storm or as the result of an intruder? If so, you may be worried that
repairing this damage will cost a small fortune and require the use of a professional
contractor. However, the truth is, you can limit the impact that these repairs have on
your budget by simply choosing to do the job yourself. Best of all, completing this
task can be much easier than you think when simply following the steps outlined
below.
Supplies You Will Need

Step 1: Remove Damaged Rail
Begin by removing the section of damaged rail by cutting the rail into manageable
sections using a hacksaw. The friction caused by this sawing process may result in
hot metal sparks. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Begin by measuring the space between your fencing posts to ensure you are
choosing the right size rail for the job. Next, remove the post cap, brace bands, and
tension bands from the fencing post on one side of the new rail. This will allow you
to slide the new rail into place.
After sliding the rail into place, simply attach the end of the rail to the rail cap. Next,
replace the brace bands to hold the rail in place.
Step 3: Attach Chain Link
Stretch the chain link over the posts and ensure that the brace bands and post caps
are in place before using your pliers to tighten the bolts that connect this fencing
material to your newly installed rail. While this process can be completed on your
own, it is much easier to complete with two set of hands so don t be afraid to ask a
co worker or friend for help.
Once the chain link is in place, reattach the tension bars that were removed in the
previous step. This will hold the fencing tight between the surrounding fence posts.
Finally, use your tie wires to secure the chain link to your new top rail.

which were unpopular. Only a handful of flavors held the product afloat, this in
effect was due to the premium pricing of the product. The product in itself was

popular among a very difficult to define market segment. Snapple was neither defined
as a lifestyle brandor a fashion brand, it was somewhere in the middle, generally

Wendy Kaufman as the face of Snapple. Wendy was a person that consumers could
easily relate to and she helped Snapple maintain a corporate image of a relatively
small and caring company. Once Snapple merged with Quaker and Wendy was
fired, people began to question the brand s corporate image. Furthermore, Snapple
terminated relationships with shock radio personalities Howard Stern and Rush
Limbaugh, causing additional damage to Snapple s image in the eyes of many
consumers. Stern, a long time Snapple promoter with millions of loyal fans, began
to refer to the beverage as Crapple. Without these three figures promoting the brand,
Snapple began to lose its appeal and consumers felt that Snapple had sold out.
Snapple was now seen as just another one of the slick mega corporations and began
to lose its trendy, fashionable appeal. Snapple must find a way to recover its previous
image by reintroducing the brand back into mainstream entertainment by finding new

results of the study group, it appeals that most Snapple customers still associate

Formal Essay: Compare and Contrast Spade and Marlowe
When you first read or watch something dealing with detectives, as an observer, you
must
always pay attention to the actions of the characters. The characters are what makes
detective
stories mysterious, because each character is looked upon as a suspect and for the
detective to
figure out a solution, he must study everyone s actions, changes in their mood and
character and
once a detective has found something that leads him to his culprit, he would have

John Paul Athanasourelis s says that Raymond Chandler s character learns to identify
his flaws
and also identify the flaws in others. (Luhr, vol. 45 pg 299). Just like Spade, it took a
while for
Marlowe to grow into a role model, because when the characters were first made,
they were not
looked upon as anything special.
You can also see this in Dashiell Hammett s Sam Spade stories. What each author is
portraying is that, detectives, are people who go through a lot in their life like other
people and
the same why that the deal with the situations, is the same why they deal with others,
this is what
makes them unique problem solving, they don t go by the book but they figure things
out by
what they know from their own lives. But most readers who have read detective
stories, say that
Marlowe is one of the most interesting detectives, and just from his stories alone,
Chandler
makes him a model for other detective stories like Sam Spade. (Luhr, vol. 45 pg 299).
Sam Spade and Philip Marlowe are detectives who show skills of experienced crime
fighters like well knowed detectives. Reading the two Sam Spade stories, what they
have in
common with The Big Sleep is the control of dialogue, and what I mean from this is
that Spade

The Works Of The Opera Billy Budd, The Handsome Sailor
There are two possible fates we each face in life. We either forget our mistakes or
carry them on our shoulders forever. This burden has evolved into a common theme
for operas, novels and other pieces of literature. For instance, Benjamin Britten uses
this motif as a threshold for his opera Billy Budd. He explores the hunting troubles
of captain Edward Fairfax Vere by setting up a narration on retrospect of the hanging
of Billy Budd, the handsome sailor . Inspired by Herman Melvilles novel, the opera
became well known. In effect, in 1997 John Dexter directed one of the
performances in the Metropolitan Opera. The story begins with captain Vere as an
old man who narrates in retrospect the story of Billy Budd on his ship the
Indomitable. Billy, the handsome sailor, kills the master at arms, Claggart, and is,
therefore, condemned to death by law. Vere decides not to influence Billy s verdict
and simply hears out what the other three highly ranked sailors have to say. Despite
the captain being against the ruling, Billy has to be hanged in order to follow the
laws and avoid mutiny from the ship s crew. The narration proceeds with Billy s
waiting for his hanging and the execution itself. By the end of the account, Vere
asserts that he has accepted Billy s death. It can be easy to believe this assumption,
but nothing could be further from the truth. Captain Vere has not come to terms with
this episode of his life, neither should he.
Vere is still plagued by this chapter of his
Explain The Main Organic Macromolecules In Living
Organisms
The main organic macromolecules discovered in living organisms are lipids,
carbohydrates, proteins and nucleic acids. These molecules contain small subunits
known as monomers. These monomers come together to create polymers which is
known as dehydration synthesis. Dehydration synthesis occurs when a hydroxyl
group is eliminated from one of the monomers and a hydrogen atom from the other,
which then releases a water molecule. Additionally, the process that a water molecule
is used to break the bond between 2 subunits in a polymer is called hydrolysis.
Lipids, otherwise known as fats are made up of hydrogen, carbon and oxygen atoms.
These molecule are used for energy storage. Lipids, are generally known as
triglycerides which means that it contains 3 fatty acid because of the hydrocarbon
tails are water fearing. Lipids include fatty acids, waxes, oils and steroids. Lipids are
an extremely important component of living cells. Along with carbohydrates and
protein, lipids are the main part of plants and animal cells. ... Show more content on

They re extremely important for the body, it provides extra needed energy for the
muscles and liver. They are broken down by the body, so it can sustain body
process. The ratio for these atoms are 1:2:1. The simplest form of carbohydrates are
monosaccharides which are made up of 3 to 6 carbon molecules. Glucose which is the
most important monosaccharides is the body preferred energy resource. One s
digestive system changes carbohydrates into glucose. Which is then used for energy
in the cells, organs and tissue. Disaccharides such as sucrose and maltose are formed
when monosaccharides are linked together using glycoside bond. Finally the largest
and most complex carbohydrate are polysaccharides that is often used for energy
storage. Examples would be, starch which are used in plants, cellulose in lands,
glycogen in animals and chitin
Customer Management System ( Cms )
The biggest benefit most businesses realize when moving to a Customer
Management System (CMS) is the act of directly having all your business data
stored and accessed from a single location. Past habits would spread customer data
in various office spaces and file rooms, email systems, and even Post it note entries.
Cargill, Nestle Purina, and Lockheed Martin all saw the value in storing all data in
a central location, giving management and employee s immediate access to data.
Also, Cargill, Nestle Purina, and Lockheed Martin each were able to strengthen
collaboration from within the company with the more efficient automated processes.
By providing a full view of all customer information, knowledge of what customers
and the general market wants, and integration with existing applications to
consolidate all business information in one common location for mass usage.
Cargill, Nestle Purina, and Lockheed Martin each have invested in various ways to
support an effective Customer Management System. During Cargill s Annual
Business Planning process, quarterly business reviews, and sales and product line
meetings, leaders evaluate organization processes. Data collection and storage is a
key focus during this evaluation period. Cargill Corn Milling decided to deploy
several applications to collect and transfer customer knowledge with touch points
shared using a database system supported by MasterCard (Cargill Corn Milling,
2008). Cargill s sales and customer service

The And Current State Of The Law Governing Workplace...
Critically assess the applicability of this statement as an analysis of the
development and current state of the law governing workplace relationships in
Australia including the decision of the Full Court of the Federal Court of
Australia in Commonwealth Bank of Australia v Barker [2013] FCAFC 83. To
what extent should this statement represent the object of labour law going
forward? The objective of labour law, in our common understanding of the subject,
is grounded in securing justice for employees (or workers) in their formal working
lives. The assumption that there is an imbalance of power in regards to the
relationship between employers and their employee has been established over a
significant period of time. With companies acquiring large amounts of funds and
expanding themselves on a global scale, those who hold managerial positions are
becoming more and more inclined to use their new found power in a way which
houses the potential to exploit the employees who are seen to have less of an
influence (in comparison with large profit maximising enterprises). It is for this
reason that regulation of the employment relationship between these two parties
ought to be properly regulated, as a means to ensure that companies do not take
advantage of their employees, a position which has been emphasised by law scholar
Sir Otto Kahn Freund, who has articulated that the main object of labour law has
always been, and I venture to say will always be, to be a countervailing
Abortion Executive Summary
Summary of objectives.
Data from Latin America have shown that women who have access to the Internet are
increasingly getting information about medication abortion online and that women
who have access to accurate information and reliable medication abortion drugs can
safely terminate their own pregnancies.
Safe abortion hotlines have become central to women s access to information about
safe medication abortion in restrictive legal contexts around the globe.3,10 Given the
stigmatized and often criminalized nature of abortion in many countries where
women s self management of abortion using medications is common, it is not
surprising that evidence is scarce regarding who accesses medications for abortion
outside of formal settings, how they access them, what information they have, and
what their experiences are.

Of those contacts not included in this analysis, 2799 (61.0%) were repeat contacts
those who called back or e mailed again for more information; 1371 (29.9%)were
follow up contacts that were made in the course of routine follow up contacts with
women having abortions; and 420 (9.1%) were contacts made for other reasons.
Conclusions
From the data that Samsara has collected to date, most of those contacting the hotline

Pathological Gait Parameters
Introduction
The basic gait parameters most frequently used are velocity, step length, and step
frequency. Many reports are concerned with pathological gait, but such data must be
compared with valid normal reference data to be interpretable. The aim of this study
was to compare the participant s present reference data with basic gait parameters for
normal subjects. The experiment involved one voluntary male Exercise and Sport
Science student aged 20 with a history of numerous ankle injuries in the last 2 years.
The participant weighs 72kg and is 1.76m tall with both legs measuring at 97cm.
Method
The experiment was conducted in the Biomechanics lab at RMIT Bundoora campus

Inferiority Complex In Adler
Adler came up with the theory Inferiority Complex in 1907/1917. This train of
thought would have been a very abstract way of thinking of personality as it was so
very different from the main voice on the matter at the time, that voice being Freud.
This theory mainly explained that everyone feels inferior some of the time
throughout their lives however; others may focus too much on their inferiorities and
therefore develop what Adler called an Inferiority Complexabout ourselves.
(Hergenhahn, 2013.pg.522). We then spend too much time thinking about our
inferiority therefore becoming defensive and untrusting towards other individuals.
According to Adler, individuals that present an inferiority complex tend to either over
compensate in areas of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This concept has a significant effect on the style of life which Adler explains is the
attitude in which one takes towards their life. (Maltby, 2010.pg.44). Birth order is a
prominent aspect in psychoanalysis that is still relevant today, it helps to explain a
great deal about the behaviour one displays and their personality. In reference to
the Universal movie Thor (2011), the character of Loki exhibits the main
characteristics of the youngest child. He is manipulative towards his parents and
older brother in order to get what he wants. (www.Marvel.com)Youngest children
like to push boundaries to see what they can get away with, but at the same time
they have a need for praise in the things that they do. They are in constant
competition to be the same or better than their older siblings almost to say that they
are just as able and worthy of the independence given to the older child. Robert
Lundin (1998) stated that youngest children strive to excel and to surpass the older
ones to become the conquering hero . (Lundin, 1998) Pg. 65) Adler suggested that
the order that one comes in the family can have an impact on their personality
because of their realisation of an inferiority that has come to light in their mind which
in turn can lead to neurosis. (Adler, 1927 as cited in Maltby, 2010). Pg.
Nationalism Is A Progressive Force
Introduction
There are many people supposing that nationalism is a progressive force in
international relations. However, there is also much debate in academic materials
which are identifying nationalism as a hindrance in achieving the possibilities
presented by globalization, as well as a risk factor in war. Therefore, there is a
division in terms of if nationalism is progressive or regressive, as far as international
relations are concerned. As a response to these conflicting views, this paper will
explore the relevant literature to support the thesis that nationalism is a progressive
force in international relations.
Nationalism is a Progressive Force
O Leary (1997) argues that nationalism is the most significant form of political
legitimacy in the modern world, as well as an astute component of modernity.
According to O Leary, nationalism is a principle that holds a nation to be
institutionally expressed freely and collectively under the rule of its own co nationals.
However, not all share the views of O Leary, with sections associating nationalism
with regression as opposed to progression with regards to international relations. For
instance, Anastasiou (2007) explains that Westerners and educated elites consider
nationalism, both as a regressive force and as exclusivist in its nature, which demands
reshaping of the future. Dione (2012) expresses arguably similar concerns by asking
whether the new nationalism which reduced the dominance of the West and facilitated
A Short Note On Engine Aircraft And Its Impact On The...
The B707 was the first aircraft developed by Boeing in 1958, it is a narrow body ,
mid size and a four turbo fan engine aircraft ( Pratt Whitney ) . Some people call it (
seven oh seven ) and it has different modules ( series ) that contains different
capacity from 140 189 passengers .The Boeing 787 was produced in 2007 , it is a
long range , wide body , twin turbo fan engine ( GEnx or Rolls Royce ) aircraft .
Passenger s seat varies from 242 335 dependant on the series of the aircraft. Of
course both aircrafts varies from the internal structures ,but almost the same design
for the outer structure (body shape ) , and I ll demonstrate the differences and
similarities between both aircrafts , from structure design to the innovations made to
the B787 , that surely made us look at the Boeing industry in a different perspectives.

as, fuel costs, ranges, fuel capacity, thrust and cabin. The fuel costs for the B787 is
26.23 $ per nautical mile whereas the fuel cost for B707 is 24.89 $ , so obviously
the B707 takes the win when it comes to fuel costs , but next facts will show that
the B787 supersedes the B707 ,starting with the flight ranges for the B787 is 7.635

Dance of the Tumblers is from an opera that is The Snow Maiden. The opera is
built in 1952. I do not know they are similar with each other or not, because I did
not see the opera before. This music is intense. It is 2/4 time. There are 2 beats per
measure and the quarter note gets one beat. The main melody is based on the violin
and violoncello. Let the entire opening sounds full of strength. Before this track has

Couples Therapy Case Study
2. Seeing couples individually during couples therapy is viewed differently in
various models of couples therapy. What are some of the reasons given in support of
individual sessions(s) with members of a couple?
Although various models for couples therapy differ on the means and approach to
individual sessions, they do share a common core of themes regarding the utility and
practicality of individual sessions as a component of couples therapy. These
commonalities include assessing and ensuring safety, skill building, information
gathering, and building therapeutic alliances.
Couples therapy is often an emotionally charged process. Therapists, therefore, must
be conscious of the risk of domestic violence and its varying forms not limited to
physical violence, but also in consideration of emotional abuse which can also disrupt
a treatment process. Engaging in couples therapy while there is active aggression or
violence places the victim at eminent risk of greater harm and exploitation. The
dynamic of relationships that involve domestic violence is often enmeshed, insidious,
and seldomly extinguish themselves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bowen discovered using Systems Theory that individual sessions or individual
coaching within conjoint sessions enabled partners to focus less on their maladaptive
exchanges and more on their individual clinical needs (e.g family of origin issues).
During split session work, couples experienced less distractions and interference with
one another, talked more calmly with the therapist (Bowen), and ultimately their
relationships with one another improved due to their opportunity to actively listen to

Assimilation Literature Review

All of the rhetors agree that assimilation is a problem. However, the issue is figuring
out whether the assimilation of immigrants is either a cultural and/or language
conflict, or, if it is an issue of whiteness. The reason this is an issue is because there
are some authors that focus on current situations with assimilation, and then you have
those who base assimilation on situations that are bygone.

Is Competitive Dance A Sport Essay
Is Competitive Dance a Sport And those who were seen dancing were thought to be
insane by those who could not hear the music. said by Friedrich Nietzsche. Although
many will argue that competitive dancing should be considered an art over a sport, I
have a different opinion. Though I do believe that dancing has many qualities that
would consider it an art, I still believe that there are even more qualities that should
make it considered a sport. Keep in mind that i m talking about competitive dance, not
just a couple classes throughout the week. Competitive dancers go to competitions
with a judging system that ensures objectivity, fairness, and transparency. Dancers
also require good stamina, speed, flexibility, and muscle. Dance also requires a
very strong level of discipline and strength. Being a competitive dancer myself, I
can say that the judging system can get pretty intense. There is a first, second, and
third place like any other competition. The judges judge you based on your skill
level, how well you re able to perform, the way you look as a group, and you also
have a time limit just like you have a time limit in football or baseball. Dancers train
all year and go to many competitions to prepare for nationals like football teams
would for something like the superbowl. According to the Grace Sim website, judges
take into consideration choreography, precision, showmanship and technique. The
website also says that judges usually award up to 100 points and the

The Real Slumdogs
The video The Real Slumdogs show us many different aspects of the culture
residing in Dharavi. There are several different types of statuses that people can
achieve from a sociological stand point, but the one I am referring to in the video
is achieved statuses. An achieved status is a position that is earned, accomplished,
or involves at least some effort or activity on the individual s part. Take the story of
Babu, the hard working trash picker for instance. This trash picker has worked most
of his life as a trash picker, and through this dedication he has finally become his
own boss. Although he is still picking trash, he oversees other workers and helps
them learn the trade. If he had not worked tirelessly and put in this effort to get...

I find myself looking at this trying to, as the sociological term goes, take the role of
the other . Taking the role of the other is defined as putting yourself in someone elses
shoes; understanding how someone else feels and thinks, so you anticipate how that
person will act. If I were to look at Lakshmi for instance, I see that she works in
terrible conditions with her family, and that she cares very much for her daughter,
Sheetal. I see that she doesn t like the conditions in which her family, or any family
in Dharavi for that matter, lives. This has made her provide an education for her
daughter, even though it is costly to her own salary. Since she knows how tough it
can be to make a living in Dharavi, she has helped with a program called Project
Acorn. This helps provide services to other slum dwellers and their children to get
an education. She is a very caring person, and wants to see the people of Dharavi
get into better living conditions so they aren t suffering or not getting anywhere.
Shailesh cares for his family, and wants them to have the best life they can. While
he wants this, he also wants to pursue his own dreams as a Bollywood actor. He
wants to become a star and this makes him use a good bit of his monthly earnings to
take acting classes. He is a very driven individual, and his efforts have finally gotten
him a foothold in the film industry, as a background dancer in a music
Wasserstrom s Arguments Relating to the Unimportance of...
In this paper, I will discuss Wasserstrom s arguments relating to the unimportance of
gender and how differentiating people based on their gender promotes the harmful
ideology of sex roles. I will then present Schlafly s arguments which regard the
differences between men and women as justifiable due to the fact that these
differences are not only natural, but also practical and obligatory, and show that they
are inferior to Wasserstrom s arguments. I will argue this by elaborating on
Wassertrom s argument of how there is no such thing as natural while providing
reasons for why this is so. Firstly, Wasserstrom argues that assigning social roles to
individuals based on their sex in inherently unjust. According to him, assigning sex
roles... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be described as what Engels describes a domestic slave. Furthermore,
Wasserstrom makes sure to introduce rebuttals to those who might say that a
society would not be oppressive if taught possible to have sex roles without one
being dominant. Wasserstrom replies to this statement by explaining how the sex
roles we are all familiar with assign women with the responsibility of having to
take care of children and to be the primary household maintainer. Wasserstrom
declares these types of burdens to be excessive and must be shared equally
between both men and women. Another rebuttal that Wasserstrom prepares is for
the people who might still insist that the existence of sex roles is necessary if we
were to suppose that the work load was equal for men and women. The problem
with this, according to Wasserstrom, is that any set of sex roles would suppress an
individual s unique talents and impair their ability to develop their characteristics,
capacities, and potential life plans. An example of how sex roles oppress women
in this way is how they have to take of children, as previously discussed, simply
because people believe that they can do it better. This responsibility keeps women
away from their interests and abilities. Men can easily be taught to take care of
children as well. Just because one is good at doing something does not
Essay on Fine Arts Education Issues
Fine Arts Education Issues
According to the National Art Education Association s goals for schools, all
elementary schools shall require students to complete a sequential program of art
instruction that integrates the study of art production, aesthetics, art criticism, and art
history, (Clark, 1987). Elementary schools are having difficulty because they are
cutting back on the fine arts programming and many non specialist classroom
teachers are expected to integrate the fine arts into their daily curriculum. Most of
these teachers feel inadequate and uncomfortable when teaching these subjects. The
children are receiving inadequate lessons in art education. All elementary schools

Will teachers have the money...more often than not, the answer is no, (Reardon,
1995). When budget cuts are underway in school systems, the allotted amount of
money for fine arts education is the first to be reduced. Fine arts education should be
considered a core subject in elementary schools. All budgeting should be done so that
all core areas receive an equal amount of money.
Because the fine arts are given a lower status than the traditional core subjects,
schools fail to hire licensed arts specialists. Schools then burden their classroom
teachers by implementing poor quality arts programs into their daily routines to
fulfill certain art expectations. This not only discourages and takes time away from
classroom teachers, but also misrepresents the fine arts. Even when a fine arts
specialist is hired, they often are pushed into trying to teach other areas of art than
what they were hired for. In some cases, the requirements for becoming an arts
specialist are so relaxed that many communities don t believe that the fine arts should
be taken very seriously. Luckily, national reports are pushing for higher standards to
become a fine arts specialist.

Global Warming Should Be The Paramount Struggle Of
Our Time
It is often said that humans are the largest threat to Earth, but not because of
violence between one another. Humans are the largest threat to Earth because we
as a species pollute the air, land, and water of the very planet we call home.
Without Earth all life as we know it will cease to exist. Global warming is the
product of the pollutants created by mankind. If mankind as a whole does not
change its ways we will ruin our one and only planet that is suitable to sustain life. In

The Market For College Literature
The market for college literature has expanded over the past few decades. College
students now have a choice in buying their text books in form of E Book, hypertext,

comprehension of electronic readingby using an example of a common YouTube

Some programs use up and down arrow keys, some use the scroll bar, others use a
swipe of the finger. The effect of the navigational procedure of scrolling, as
Wästlund concluded, has negative implications on the mental workload required
to read the article due to the shifting of focus to the page movement. Another
navigational problem with electronic reading was discovered by Manger et al.,
(2013) who found that difficult tracking placement due to scroll bar mechanics
would negatively impact the reader s ability to focus on the reading. Manger also
found that the ability to task switch between windows also made it difficult for
participants to keep track of their previous reading placement. The negative effect of
task switching was shown to also effect participants adjacent from the task switcher

has pointed to task switching being a direct influence on the negative performance
to comprehension in electronic conditions (Fried, 2008; Manger et al. 2013;

Makeup, Beauty, Makeup, Disney, And Dreams
When someone asks me, a teenager, what 3 things I love or interest me I reply with
makeup, anything Disney, and dreams. The reason I love all these things is because
they all correspond with one another. Disney is where all your dreams come true,
makeup is a thing that you put on to make yourself look and feel like a dream. Disney
is all about crazy makeup to make people look a certain way for characters such as,
villains, heroes, and damsels in distress, for you to remember them, maybe even in
your dreams. Makeup is a way to define your features and make you feel more
beautiful like the girls in Disney movies.
Makeup only used to be for men and women to enhance their beauty. Now makeup
is still used for that very same reason but it s for themselves, because they aren t
trying to impress anyone but themselves. From 3000 B.C. men wore wigs and
makeup to make them more eye catching. All women would use makeup to make
themselves prettier and so did men. The egyptians were the first people to create
cosmetics. They wore it for special occasions like festivals or celebrations. They
also would put themselves at risk because of the things they were putting on there
face to make them look more beautiful. Things like: using burnt matches for
eyeliner, they would use berries for their lip stains, they would try to make their face
paler (because it was deemed more beautiful that way) with leeches, arsenic, mercury
and lead (Gardner). They didn t have to do that though because Disney
Reflection Of Group Development
To begin, the very first part of group development but also the class, was to form a
group that you would work with throughout the whole semester. The class discussed
ways to assign group members, but ultimately, the decision was to let students pick
their groups. In all honesty, I was not fond of this idea, but I selected my group. I
began by wanting one of the two boys in my group, because I wanted a male s
perspective throughout the project. I decidedI wanted to work with Adam because I
had witnessed him ask challenging questions and succeed in debates with
previous professors, all characteristics I thought could be beneficial at the time.
With choosing Adam came Matt, because since they were the only two males in a
lecture dominated by females. Lastly, Alex decided she wanted to work with me
because we had a previous class together and she stated she liked the way I handled
myself within that lecture. Once the group was all in agreeance to work together,
we began to take part in small talk, such as, how old we were, what we were
studying, but mainly that we were all determined to get a high grade in this class, a
comment I had taken seriously at the time and thought was true of all members.
When the class was eventually instructed to discuss topics that were of importance to
us, there was no doubt that focusing on nontraditional students and their connection
to campus life was going to be the topic we focused on because it was of such
importance to Вѕ of our group.

Anti-Gliadin Case Studies
This study was conducted to confirm weather or not gluten sensitivity is a marker in
patients with neurological illness. Anti Gliadin antibodies are produced to counter
react gliadin, a protein commonly found in bread. These antibodies are also an
indicator of untreated coeliac disease within some patients that have been studied.
Since neurological dysfunctions are usually directly associated with coeliac disease,
the case study was conducted to show that a gluten intolerance would be common in
patients that have a neurological disorder of unknown cause. Data was obtained in
patients with known causes of neurological disorders, unknown causes of
neurological disorders and healthy patients to see the difference of anti gliadin
antibody count in bloodsamples. The study was conducted by taking samples from

Out of the 30 from group 1 that tested positive for antibodies, one patient had a IgA
deficiency, another was anemic and one more had low vitamin B12. All three of the
patients tested positive for coeliac disease, however the other 27 patients had no
issues with malabsorption. It was also found that patients with neurological
dysfunctions of unknown cause not only had a high frequency of anti gliadin
antibodies, but also had a higher frequency of individuals who had coeliac disease.
The results of antibody screening for group one was significantly higher than that of
groups consisting of neurological dysfunctions of known cause or the healthy control
group. Another important aspect of the study was the alternative hypothesis, given
that anti gliadin antibodies are directly involved in the neuropathological process and
are indicators of autoimmune activity with unidentified antibody presence to be toxic.
From the information obtained in the experiment, the hypothesis that gluten
sensitivity will be common in patients with neurological diseases of unknown cause
will be
The Early Solar System
Scientists have been researching about outer space for years but still don t know as
much as one may think. Scientists still do not know much about the early solar
system. Scientists believed that the solar system was reshuffled around in the past
which would explain the Kuiper belt and the Oort cloud of icy bodies, the inner
planets being destroyed by asteroids and why there isn t any super Earths around in
this solar system. But scientists recently discovered something that may change their
theory. In Michael D. Lemonick s Plant Nine from Outer Space, Lemonick claims
that scientists may have found a planetwith ten times the mass of Earththat is beyond
Pluto and may be the reason why objects from the Kuiper belt are following similar
orbits... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Levison, a planetary formation theorist from Southwest Research Institute, said it
most likely formed in the region of between about five and 20 [Earth sun
distances] and was scattered outward by [a gravitational interaction with] Jupiter
or Saturn. A man named Scott Tremaine from the institute for Advanced Study in
Princeton, NJ., says that if something was to hit a massive planet like Jupiter it
would be rebounded with such great force that there is no question it would be
shot out into interstellar space. Statistically, the odds for it to instead come into
orbit around the sun is so slim that it leads many theorists to believe that there may
have been a mistake. For example, Tremaine says that there may have been a
mistake in the prediction in the efficiency in the scattering process, he believes
that there may actually be a higher chance of an outward flung object to stay within
the solar system than what scientists actually believe. A prediction that scientist
Ben Bromley from the University of Utah has is that if the super Earth were to
scatter very early in the life of the solar system before any other planet was formed,
then it is possible for the planet to settle where it did. Another theory was made by
scientist Nathan Kalib, who theorized that if Planet Nine does exist, it most likely
came from another solar system and when those solar systems reshuffled and
ejected some objects, Planet Nine was caught by our sun. Scientists don t really
have much information on this Planet Nine, so it causes me to question why this
article was published with very little information. Scientists will have to follow this
planet Nine s orbit to figure out how it got to where it is now. This Planet Nine may
not follow the original theory of the early origins of the Solar System which is most
likely why this article was published but there isn t much certainty in the article. In
my opinion this article was not an interesting
Sources Of Alternative Energy Sources
Alternate Energy Sources
Alternative energy sources are becoming more and more popular. The most important
alternative energy sources are solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, ocean, and
hydropower energies. Their main advantage lies in the resumption of energy
resources. This paper will give information about each of sources as well as their
advantages and disadvantages.
Solar energy
The Sun is a leading environmentally clean energy source. The process of generating
electricity from sunlight has been known for over a hundred years. Edmond
Becquerel first observed the photovoltaic effect in 1839 (Zamostny, p. 1). Through a
series of experiments on electricity, he plunged two metal electrodes in a conductive
solution and exposed it to sunlight. As a result, there was a small electrical voltage
between electrodes.
Solar energy is used to produce electricity and heat water. The advantages of this
energy are noiseless, lack of air emissions, and renewability of source. The
disadvantages of solar energy include a dependence on solar power from the daily,
seasonal position of the Sun, weather conditions, and the need for large areas for the
construction of solar power plants. Also, a serious environmental problem is the use
of toxic substances in the manufacture of solar cells that cause a problem of their
disposal.
Wind energy
A second alternative energy source is wind energy. It is used for electricity and
actuates a windmill. Inexhaustibility is the primary advantage of wind
The Presentation Of The Portrait Of Jesus
Discuss the purpose behind the portrait of Jesus presented in one of the four gospels.
Use the gospel text as your starting point.
The opening verse of The Gospel According to Mark states, The beginning of the
good news of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (Mark 1:1, NRSV) From the outset of
Mark s Gospel Jesus is portrayed as the Messiah who has come to the world in God
s favour (Mark 1:1 11). Mark s Gospel proclaims the good news of Jesus which
would have helped to reaffirm the faith of Christian followers across the ancient
world. By examining the rhetoric within Mark s Gospel, readers are able to gain an
insight into the meaning of the text as well as an understanding of the purpose for
which it was written. As the audience reads the ... Show more content on

Whilst all of the gospels are proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ, the genre
behind each of these texts has a significant impact on how they are each viewed by
the readers in antiquity.
Strictly speaking, the author of Mark s Gospel is anonymous . However, there is
strong evidence that support the theory that John Mark was the author and that he
wrote as a result of his immediate association with the preaching and eyewitness
accounts of the Apostle Peter. Numerous scholars accept the theory that Peter was
martyred in Rome under the rule of Nero in approximately 65 CE. In line with the
date of Peter s martyrdom and along with the school of thought that accepts the
theory that Mark was inspired by Peter, The Gospel According to Mark was most
likely written approximately 65 to 70 CE in the Roman Empire.
Mark is part of the Synoptic Gospels due to the overwhelming similarities between
Matthew, Mark and Luke. Within the synoptic narrative framework, many scholars
believe that the gospels were all derived from the same original text. A commonly
accepted contemporary theory is that Mark was the earliest of the gospels written,
and as such, was the primary literacy source for the other synoptic gospels. As the
earliest of the Gospels written, Mark would have played a fundamental role in
developing one of the earliest portraits of Jesus for the Christian
Informative Essay On Roadmasters
Is it a car, sports car, super car? No, it s a super sports car While many cars have
been released by major automobile powerhouses, there are only a few that have
lived up to their hype. These are the cars that still retain their charm years after
their release, thereby earning themselves the name roadmasters . I recently found
one such car and just on first glance, I was sure it is what I needed so I explored
further, and here is what really made me fall in love with this new release. I am
talking about Lamborghini HuracГЎn Performante. Exterior Design: Exteriors are

The trim version has carbon fiber seats. However, the option of leather upholstery is
also available. Before the ignition, the driver s information system shows the
perfomante outline. Large HD 12.3 TFT display acts as the information center or
virtual cockpit for the car. The display is available with GPS navigation (Google),
Bluetooth, Multimedia interface and 3D computer graphics all from Nvidia.
Lamborghini Infotainment system keeps you entertained. The dashboard has four
manually adjustable AC vents made out of composite materials and also has
illuminated glove compartments on the passenger side. There is a total of about 190
liters of storage capacity. 70 liters behind the seats and about 120 liters in the front
boot. Engine specifications and fuel economy: Lamborghini HuracГЎn Performante
houses a rear mounted 5.2 Liter V10 engine under the hood. At 8000 rpm it delivers
a power of 640 horsepower through an all wheel drive that is electronically
controlled. The boost in performance is also achieved through shaving off about 90
pounds of weight, by using composite materials and
Clinical And Clinical Research Project
Finlay (2001) investigated how schizophrenic symptoms are paralleled by complex
structural and functional abnormalities in brain regions such as the thalamus, the
prefrontal cortex and the temporal lobe. As a result of the delayed onset of symptoms
in early adulthood, abnormal development occurs in the nervous system which may
contribute greatly to the neurobiology of the disorder. Weinberger s (1988)
longstanding hypothesis focused on the dysfunction of the prefrontal cortex and the
association with schizophrenic cognitive deficits. Furthermore, Finlay s (2001)
research focused on the concept of a dysfunction of the mesoprefrontal DA neurons
that may relate to the cognitive deficits associated with schizophrenia. As the clinical
symptoms of this disorder emerge during early adulthood, abnormal developmental
processes are thought to contribute to the pathos physiology of the disorder. It was
discovered the the DA intervention of the prefrontal cortex undergoes significant
change up until adulthood which leads to Finlay s hypothesis that the abnormal
development of this system may be related to the emergence of schizophrenia.
Experimental and clinical research portrayed the relationship between this system,
and abnormalities in cognitive performance. Another interesting finding by Finlay
(2001), was that impaired function of mesoprefrontal DA may be the causation of
decreased density of DA which contains nerve endings within the prefrontal cortex of
afflicted individuals.
The Importance Of Japanese Culture
Japan is the region of the world focused on this research essay. The author will define
culture, and describe Japanese cultural traits with an emphasis on leadership
competency. The thesis statement hypothesizes that cultural study and research of
specific regions of the world will enable cross cultural competence and
comprehension in leadership roles.
There is a plethora of definitions which encompass culture. Dictionary.com
Unabridged (2017) defines culture as the quality in a society, or an individual, that
arises from a concern for what is regarded as excellent. Five characteristics of culture
may include: a particular form or stage of civilization, the fine arts, scholarly pursuits,
etiquette, and/or the drive towards excellence. The author of this essay adds to the
definition to include culture in present day as: All interactions between a member of
society and society.
The Japan is an archipelago, consisting of four major islands and over six thousand
minor island groups, which has enormous climatic variation. The Korean peninsula
is the closest point on the Asian mainland. Japan faces the Pacific Ocean along the
entire eastern and southern coastline. Japanese life has always been oriented toward
the ocean. Japan is a fertile land and has varied fishing grounds due to the currents
that converge offshore. To the north and west are the Sea of Japan, Sea of Okhotsk,
and the East China Sea (Countries and Their Cultures: Japan, 2017). From a

Serpentine War Research Paper
The Serpentine are former villains, but now they re pretty neutral characters. The
snake like creatures are always ready to fight. They re favorite pastime is the Slither
Pit, where they fight one another. They also use the Slither Pit to fight for
advancement in their tribe. All the generals have long tails instead of legs. The five
warring tribes (Hypnobrai, Fangpyre, Venomari, Constrictai, and Anacondrai) were
separated and locked underground long before the pilot episodes, because of what
happened during the Serpentine War. Each tribe has its own unique power: the

After his supposed death, Skales, voiced by Ian James Corlett, took over as leader
of the Serpentine until Garmadon used his Megaweapon to persuade the
Serpentine to join his side. When Skales had had enough, he got rid of Garmadon
and again assumed control. His first order got them locked underground again.
While in the tomb of the Stone Army, they changed their ways and became more
pacifistic and useless. Skales is still in charge of all the Serpentine, and he will
occasionally decide to help the ninja, but mostly they just keep to themselves.
Pythor does not have any connection with the rest of the Serpentine anymore. He
was in prison for a while, but was taken by Chen, since he was the last true
Anacondrai. After Garmadon s sacrifice, Pythor allied with the ninja because he
hated the Anacondrai Cultists more for disgracing his kind. After the battle, he went
on his way, but returned in Day of the Departed because he was still mad at Lloyd.
They fought, but he was defeated and he hasn t been seen
Upper Class Victorian Homes Essay
Upper Class Victorian Homes
The Victorian era was a time of ornate decorum, and grandiose homes for the upper
classes. Wealth was not to be concealed, but displayed in all aspects possible, most
importantly in the home. The structure of an upper class home often had at least a
few levels. The top and bottom floors, or basement and attic, generally reserved for
the servants of the household. Food preparation, and laundry activities were
common of the basements, whereas the attic often served as housing for those that
tended the household. Beyond these reserved spaces however, the splendor of
wealth could be found in every room, on every wall, of every floor.
The credo of the time could appropriately be stated as if you got it, flaunt ... Show

There was also an abundance of color and wallpaper. During the first half of the
Victorian era, walls were usually light colors... the second half of the period gave
way to much more vibrant rich colors, as a theory developed that dark, rich colors
enhanced the importance of a room ( Interior Design ). Floral print was a popular
choice for wallpaper. Many rugs had floral designs as well, but Aubusson and
Savonnaire types were also popular. The tapestries were typically made of heavy
fabrics, and coincided with the dark colors of the other furnishings. Of all the rooms
in the house, the office was the least decorated, being the masculine place of
business, but even then, the upper class could be counted on to have the finest desks
and bookcases.
The bedrooms were decorated much in the same fashion as the rest of the house,
with subtle changes depending on the sex of the occupant. Boys had more
utilitarian rooms, with less frivolous items, whereas girls rooms were often
adorned with lots of hand carved and painted furniture. (As crafts were seen as a
woman s preoccupation.) The four post canopy bed was popular for both sexes.
The drawing room was considered a feminine aspect as well, and would contain
draperies and carved furniture similar to what was seen in a female bedroom. Many
homes would have a porch or veranda, with furniture to enable the occupants to take

  • 2. A Certain Oil Refinery The passage I will analyze in this close reading is from the works of Theodore Dreiser in his newspaper article named A Certain Oil Refinery . In the article, Dreiser offers a very bleak and realistic description of an oil refinery in Bayonne, New Jersey. He describes the crude working environment in which the workers find themselves toiling day and night in the dark, sinister caverns of the refinery. The whole article gives off a feeling of industrial realism, illustrating the darksome rooftops of the factories and the dreary, unkempt environment its smoke was producing. In the passage, he pays particularly close attention to the work done there and the workers doing it. He moves on from describing the outside of the refinery and the actual town it is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He uses an example of vat filling to illustrate the sheer simplicity by saying: the filling of one [vat] and another, for instance, and letting the same settle; introducing into one [vat] and another a given measure of chemicals... (Dreiser, 188). The whole process is illustrated to be one lacking any sense of creativity or other mental skill, which adds to the misery that Dreiser is describing in his article. In the last part of the passage, Dreiser makes an interesting observation. After having described the scene of the refinery and the work at the plant, he goes on to wonder why men would work in such a place. He seems to be intrigued by the fact that ...men work and toil here in a sickening atmosphere of blackness and shadow, of vile odors, of vile substances, of vile surroundings (Dreiser, 188). Again, the description Dreiser offers us is one of realistic details, recounting the dreadful and abominable working conditions people chose to give themselves up to for compensation. The scene Dreiser is painting in this passage is that of a very vile and repulsive environment. He uses descriptions of the work within the plant to help describe the
  • 3. Lisa Kudrow Research Paper So, after reading all of this, what do you think about Lisa Kudrow? I, personally, would love to have her on my friends list. She stands about 5 8 in height, has blond hair and green eyes. She is an absolute beauty plus she is intelligent and has a great sense of humor. In case you didn t know, People magazine viewed Kudrow as being one of the Most Beautiful People in the World in 1997. Just to recap just a few of her credits, Kudrow received many professional honors including awards for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor (Screen Actors Guild), Best Supporting Female, an Independent Spirit Award nomination and Funniest Supporting Female Performer in a TV Series. Kudrow has six Emmy nominations for Friends alone and awarded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Timing is everything and 9 years after the conception, it was a part of HBO s lineup. HBO came to them with the idea. Can you believe it? Simultaneously, Kudrow is hosting the improvisational network broadcast, Web Therapy with Jon Hamm, Gwyneth Paltrow and Allison Janney on Showtime. Matt Leblanc appeared in Kudrow s Web Therapy a time or two. Kudrow also attended Milk Studios 2015 Vulture Festival in New York this spring. Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner of Difficult People were there to mingle with the star. No matter where she goes, it would seem that someone is asking the proverbial question: Will there ever be a reunion for the cast and crew of Friends? Kudrow answers by saying that they all can t even meet for dinner. Apparently, they all live in different states so, getting together can be impossible, to say the least. However, they do try to stay in touch. Leblanc, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer haven t had much fame or success when it comes to securing roles since 2004, but the girls, Courteney Cox and Jennifer Aniston, have had plenty of other engagements to keep them occupied. I can t speak for everyone, but there are plenty of us religiously watching the reruns. Joey, played by Leblanc, is by far the most laughable and adored male character on the show. Leblanc attempted a spinoff of the series with Joey, but it didn t do well at all it lasted for only two

Issac Newton had contributed many scientific research during his life, but he was known for defining the laws of gravity and understanding universal law. Issac Newton work was considered enlightenment because he was understanding the functions of nature law. He would mention of how gravity cause certain actions to the world. • 6. Bromothymol Blue Lab Report Objective The purpose of this experiment was to determine the pKa of the bromothymol blue (indicator) through absorption spectroscopy. Bromothymol blue being a monoprotic acid base indicator, displays different colors at different pH because of the differences in the ratio of the conjugated acid and base form. The fraction of conjugate acid and base was interpolated for the solutions through the acquired absorbance spectrum of the bromothymol blue at various pH. The rearranged form of Henderson Hasselbalch equation was graphed as a function of pH to determine the pKa of the indicator. Methods Approximately 3.4 grams of K2HPO4 was weighed on a triple beam balance and dissolved in 100.00 mL of DI water by diluting to the mark in a volumetric flask. Similarly, 2.4 grams of NaHPO4 was weighed on triple beam balance and dissolved in 100.00 mL of DI water by diluting to the mark in a volumetric flask. Seven clean 100 mL volumetric flasks were obtained and 2.00 mL of 1.551 Г—10^( 3) M bromothymol blue was added to the 7 flasks via volumetric pipet. Other reagents including K2HPO4, NaHPO4 and NaOH were added though volumetric pipets as instructed in the table below: The objective of this experiment, to determine the pKa of bromothymol blue, was accomplished spectrophotometrically. Bromothymol blue is a monoprotic acid (HIn), that is blue in basic solution and yellow in acidic solution: HIn ⇋ H^+ + In^ Yellow Blue Solutions were buffered using monosodium phosphate
  • 7. The Importance Of Being Used During The Classical Period... In the first movement of Wolfgang Mozart s piece Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, it presents numerous features of what is being used during the classical period of music. The recording that was made by the Prague Chamber Orchestra is a good way to hear all of the classical features in the first movement. The first movement is the first track on the album that was published in 1985. While it has an excellent recording of the movement, it is not a traditional quartet but a larger ensemble. Along with that, the score to the piece itself is a good aid to see the features presented as well. It is a good visual aid to pinpoint where the classical features are in the first movement, and it is good to use along with the audio recording so the listener can see where the features may be without fully analyzing the movement, despite it being a mini score. With its features, it is also in a very popular form that was used during the classical period. In his article Sonata Form , James Webster breaks down and describes what sonata form is and how it was used. He also briefly discusses the distinction between sonata form and its other related forms even though the first movement to Mozart s piece is in one version of the sonata form. One biography about Wolfgang Mozart, which was found on The Biography.com, discusses his entire life. They talk about from when he was just a child learning to how no one knows he died. Although it does go into great detail, it does not mention his

  • 9. Touro University Personal Statement As a child, I vividly recall my grandfather playing his mandolin at every family event. Under the control of his musical spell, everyone would burst into celebration. It was a family tradition that still warms our hearts as we often reminisce today. When my grandfather passed away, I was surprised to find that he had left me his beloved instrument. While I always had the desire to play, I didn t know where to begin. Inspired, I entered a musicschool at the age of eleven where I eventually graduated and became a teacher. I was anything but a natural, and my inability to perform during my early years caused many nights of frustration. It was there that I shadowed a rheumatologist, an experience that not only improved my understanding of the physical complications endured by individuals with this condition, but also provided me with insight into the emotional struggles faced by both the patient and their families. Under the mentorship of this physician, I also completed my Master s thesis on Joint Hypermobility Syndrome. It was engaging to be able to apply what I observed in the clinic with current research studies to create a tool to assist primary care physicians in the diagnosis of this condition. As research has always been an important component of my academic career, I hope to further explore aspects of clinical research as a

This is not unwarranted, as she merely tries to get out of the situation alive, nevertheless it calls into question her character and also the strength of her convictions. It conjointly makes the readers themselves question their own morals; what would they be doing during a similar state of affairs? The reader will feel sympathy for the Grandmother during this dangerous situation, nevertheless it s her actions because what she says progresses and that causes the reader to pause and actually question the character of the Grandmother. The Misfit s accomplices take her family, as they re taken into the woods and shot dead. Throughout this point, the Grandmother appears to solely be centered on preservation, along with her solely recognition of something awry being after two isolated yells of Bailey Boy! O Connor is showing the character of not just the Grandmother, however what she perceives to be the common trend in 1950 s culture. The concept of family unity and selflessness, even by people who propagate the concept, is forgotten once the individual is vulnerable. A Clockwork Orange was written in 1962 during a time where sexuality and violence was becoming less censured in the media while the individuals who were exposed to it became more jaded. Shows were becoming increasingly popular, especially those that dealt with the future and the examination of the human condition. This new obsession with the future likely stemmed from the scientific advancements of the time and an interest of what might follow should it continue to progress; the heightened obsession of human nature was probably influenced by the conflicting desires to conform (think suburbs ) and establish individualism (in the form of the new and accessible statements of fashion, television, and most especially, music) as well as a fear of societies that would desire to control their people to the point that there is

For example, Elliot Rodger of the 2014 Isla Vista massacre slaughtered his fellow classmates and notably had not had any friends since grade school (Kleinfeld, et al.). Another common trait among mass murderers is psychological narcissism, another trait possessed by Rodger who claimed that the world was being unfair to him and that he deserved girls (Rodger). Two more traits of mass murderers are paranoia and depression, both of which were distinctly documented in one of the Columbine High School shooters, David Klebold. He was recorded by investigations to be paranoid and depressed in addition to his own journals claiming that everything and everyone in the world hates him (Sancier)(Klebold). Mass murderers are also known to have be physically abusive like the Kansas shooter, Cedric Ford, a man with a notable history of abuse and violence in his relationships. Finally, mass murderers are often suicidal, explaining the many cases of suicides after shootings. For example, the Albertville Realschule shooter: Tim Kretschmer killed numerous people before committing suicide upon confrontation. CS is an extremely rare disorder in Arabic and Middle Eastern countries(3). The novelty of this study is represented by being the first case reported within Jordanian population that is 7 million people. The classical form of ocular involvement in CS is characterized by the interstitial keratitis, but also, iritis or uveitis, scleritis or episcleritis, and conjunctivitis have been also described, and the atypical CS exists in the absence of interstitial keratitis (2). Some systemic manifestations have been reported in association with CS, including vasculitis of the aorta leading to aortic aneurysm and/or aortic valve regurgitation, fever, arthralgia (or arthritis), lymphadenopathy, splenomegaly, skin rash, and peripheral or central nervous system involvement (2, 4). The ocular involvement in CS usually gives a good response to topical corticosteroids therapy, while, systemic corticosteroids are reserved for unresponsive cases or those with posterior uveitis, it was reported that poor long term ophthalmologic outcomes due to CS are unusual in contrast to vestibuloauditory affection(4). Deafness is the most common serious outcome of CS and systemic corticosteroid therapy is warranted as soon as

  • 23. The Works Of The Opera Billy Budd, The Handsome Sailor There are two possible fates we each face in life. We either forget our mistakes or carry them on our shoulders forever. This burden has evolved into a common theme for operas, novels and other pieces of literature. For instance, Benjamin Britten uses this motif as a threshold for his opera Billy Budd. He explores the hunting troubles of captain Edward Fairfax Vere by setting up a narration on retrospect of the hanging of Billy Budd, the handsome sailor . Inspired by Herman Melvilles novel, the opera became well known. In effect, in 1997 John Dexter directed one of the performances in the Metropolitan Opera. The story begins with captain Vere as an old man who narrates in retrospect the story of Billy Budd on his ship the Indomitable. Billy, the handsome sailor, kills the master at arms, Claggart, and is, therefore, condemned to death by law. Vere decides not to influence Billy s verdict and simply hears out what the other three highly ranked sailors have to say. Despite the captain being against the ruling, Billy has to be hanged in order to follow the laws and avoid mutiny from the ship s crew. The narration proceeds with Billy s waiting for his hanging and the execution itself. By the end of the account, Vere asserts that he has accepted Billy s death. It can be easy to believe this assumption, but nothing could be further from the truth. Captain Vere has not come to terms with this episode of his life, neither should he. Vere is still plagued by this chapter of his

These molecules contain small subunits known as monomers. These monomers come together to create polymers which is known as dehydration synthesis. Dehydration synthesis occurs when a hydroxyl group is eliminated from one of the monomers and a hydrogen atom from the other, which then releases a water molecule. Additionally, the process that a water molecule is used to break the bond between 2 subunits in a polymer is called hydrolysis. Lipids, otherwise known as fats are made up of hydrogen, carbon and oxygen atoms. These molecule are used for energy storage. To what extent should this statement represent the object of labour law going forward? The objective of labour law, in our common understanding of the subject, is grounded in securing justice for employees (or workers) in their formal working lives. The assumption that there is an imbalance of power in regards to the relationship between employers and their employee has been established over a significant period of time. With companies acquiring large amounts of funds and expanding themselves on a global scale, those who hold managerial positions are becoming more and more inclined to use their new found power in a way which houses the potential to exploit the employees who are seen to have less of an influence (in comparison with large profit maximising enterprises). It is for this reason that regulation of the employment relationship between these two parties ought to be properly regulated, as a means to ensure that companies do not take advantage of their employees, a position which has been emphasised by law scholar Sir Otto Kahn Freund, who has articulated that the main object of labour law has always been, and I venture to say will always be, to be a countervailing

This theory mainly explained that everyone feels inferior some of the time throughout their lives however; others may focus too much on their inferiorities and therefore develop what Adler called an Inferiority Complexabout ourselves. Birth order is a prominent aspect in psychoanalysis that is still relevant today, it helps to explain a great deal about the behaviour one displays and their personality. In reference to the Universal movie Thor (2011), the character of Loki exhibits the main characteristics of the youngest child. He is manipulative towards his parents and older brother in order to get what he wants. (www.Marvel.com)Youngest children like to push boundaries to see what they can get away with, but at the same time they have a need for praise in the things that they do. However, there is also much debate in academic materials which are identifying nationalism as a hindrance in achieving the possibilities presented by globalization, as well as a risk factor in war. Therefore, there is a division in terms of if nationalism is progressive or regressive, as far as international relations are concerned. As a response to these conflicting views, this paper will explore the relevant literature to support the thesis that nationalism is a progressive force in international relations. Nationalism is a Progressive Force O Leary (1997) argues that nationalism is the most significant form of political legitimacy in the modern world, as well as an astute component of modernity. According to O Leary, nationalism is a principle that holds a nation to be institutionally expressed freely and collectively under the rule of its own co nationals. However, not all share the views of O Leary, with sections associating nationalism with regression as opposed to progression with regards to international relations. For instance, Anastasiou (2007) explains that Westerners and educated elites consider nationalism, both as a regressive force and as exclusivist in its nature, which demands reshaping of the future. Dione (2012) expresses arguably similar concerns by asking whether the new nationalism which reduced the dominance of the West and facilitated

Although various models for couples therapy differ on the means and approach to individual sessions, they do share a common core of themes regarding the utility and practicality of individual sessions as a component of couples therapy. These commonalities include assessing and ensuring safety, skill building, information gathering, and building therapeutic alliances. Couples therapy is often an emotionally charged process. Therapists, therefore, must be conscious of the risk of domestic violence and its varying forms not limited to physical violence, but also in consideration of emotional abuse which can also disrupt a treatment process. Engaging in couples therapy while there is active aggression or violence places the victim at eminent risk of greater harm and exploitation. The dynamic of relationships that involve domestic violence is often enmeshed, insidious, and seldomly extinguish themselves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 36. Is Competitive Dance A Sport Essay Is Competitive Dance a Sport And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music. said by Friedrich Nietzsche. Although many will argue that competitive dancing should be considered an art over a sport, I have a different opinion. Though I do believe that dancing has many qualities that would consider it an art, I still believe that there are even more qualities that should make it considered a sport. Keep in mind that i m talking about competitive dance, not just a couple classes throughout the week. Competitive dancers go to competitions with a judging system that ensures objectivity, fairness, and transparency. Dancers also require good stamina, speed, flexibility, and muscle. Dance also requires a very strong level of discipline and strength. Being a competitive dancer myself, I can say that the judging system can get pretty intense. There is a first, second, and third place like any other competition. The judges judge you based on your skill level, how well you re able to perform, the way you look as a group, and you also have a time limit just like you have a time limit in football or baseball. Dancers train all year and go to many competitions to prepare for nationals like football teams would for something like the superbowl. In this paper, I will discuss Wasserstrom s arguments relating to the unimportance of gender and how differentiating people based on their gender promotes the harmful ideology of sex roles. I will then present Schlafly s arguments which regard the differences between men and women as justifiable due to the fact that these differences are not only natural, but also practical and obligatory, and show that they are inferior to Wasserstrom s arguments. I will argue this by elaborating on Wassertrom s argument of how there is no such thing as natural while providing reasons for why this is so. Firstly, Wasserstrom argues that assigning social roles to individuals based on their sex in inherently unjust. According to him, assigning sex roles... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can be described as what Engels describes a domestic slave. Furthermore, Wasserstrom makes sure to introduce rebuttals to those who might say that a society would not be oppressive if taught possible to have sex roles without one being dominant. Wasserstrom replies to this statement by explaining how the sex roles we are all familiar with assign women with the responsibility of having to take care of children and to be the primary household maintainer. Wasserstrom declares these types of burdens to be excessive and must be shared equally between both men and women. Another rebuttal that Wasserstrom prepares is for the people who might still insist that the existence of sex roles is necessary if we were to suppose that the work load was equal for men and women. The problem with this, according to Wasserstrom, is that any set of sex roles would suppress an individual s unique talents and impair their ability to develop their characteristics, capacities, and potential life plans. An example of how sex roles oppress women in this way is how they have to take of children, as previously discussed, simply because people believe that they can do it better. This responsibility keeps women away from their interests and abilities. Men can easily be taught to take care of children as well. Just because one is good at doing something does not

Elementary schools are having difficulty because they are cutting back on the fine arts programming and many non specialist classroom teachers are expected to integrate the fine arts into their daily curriculum. Will teachers have the money...more often than not, the answer is no, (Reardon, 1995). When budget cuts are underway in school systems, the allotted amount of money for fine arts education is the first to be reduced. Fine arts education should be considered a core subject in elementary schools. All budgeting should be done so that all core areas receive an equal amount of money. Because the fine arts are given a lower status than the traditional core subjects, schools fail to hire licensed arts specialists. Schools then burden their classroom teachers by implementing poor quality arts programs into their daily routines to fulfill certain art expectations. This not only discourages and takes time away from classroom teachers, but also misrepresents the fine arts. Even when a fine arts specialist is hired, they often are pushed into trying to teach other areas of art than what they were hired for. In some cases, the requirements for becoming an arts specialist are so relaxed that many communities don t believe that the fine arts should be taken very seriously. Luckily, national reports are pushing for higher standards to become a fine arts specialist. Statistically, the odds for it to instead come into orbit around the sun is so slim that it leads many theorists to believe that there may have been a mistake. For example, Tremaine says that there may have been a mistake in the prediction in the efficiency in the scattering process, he believes that there may actually be a higher chance of an outward flung object to stay within the solar system than what scientists actually believe. A prediction that scientist Ben Bromley from the University of Utah has is that if the super Earth were to scatter very early in the life of the solar system before any other planet was formed, then it is possible for the planet to settle where it did. The most important alternative energy sources are solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, ocean, and hydropower energies. Their main advantage lies in the resumption of energy resources. This paper will give information about each of sources as well as their advantages and disadvantages. Solar energy The Sun is a leading environmentally clean energy source. The process of generating electricity from sunlight has been known for over a hundred years. Edmond Becquerel first observed the photovoltaic effect in 1839 (Zamostny, p. 1). Through a series of experiments on electricity, he plunged two metal electrodes in a conductive solution and exposed it to sunlight. As a result, there was a small electrical voltage between electrodes. Solar energy is used to produce electricity and heat water. The advantages of this energy are noiseless, lack of air emissions, and renewability of source. The disadvantages of solar energy include a dependence on solar power from the daily, seasonal position of the Sun, weather conditions, and the need for large areas for the construction of solar power plants. Also, a serious environmental problem is the use of toxic substances in the manufacture of solar cells that cause a problem of their disposal. Wind energy A second alternative energy source is wind energy. It is used for electricity and actuates a windmill. Inexhaustibility is the primary advantage of wind

Clinical And Clinical Research Project Finlay (2001) investigated how schizophrenic symptoms are paralleled by complex structural and functional abnormalities in brain regions such as the thalamus, the prefrontal cortex and the temporal lobe. As a result of the delayed onset of symptoms in early adulthood, abnormal development occurs in the nervous system which may contribute greatly to the neurobiology of the disorder. Weinberger s (1988) longstanding hypothesis focused on the dysfunction of the prefrontal cortex and the association with schizophrenic cognitive deficits. Furthermore, Finlay s (2001) research focused on the concept of a dysfunction of the mesoprefrontal DA neurons that may relate to the cognitive deficits associated with schizophrenia. As the clinical symptoms of this disorder emerge during early adulthood, abnormal developmental processes are thought to contribute to the pathos physiology of the disorder. It was discovered the the DA intervention of the prefrontal cortex undergoes significant change up until adulthood which leads to Finlay s hypothesis that the abnormal development of this system may be related to the emergence of schizophrenia. Experimental and clinical research portrayed the relationship between this system, and abnormalities in cognitive performance. Another interesting finding by Finlay (2001), was that impaired function of mesoprefrontal DA may be the causation of decreased density of DA which contains nerve endings within the prefrontal cortex of afflicted individuals.
