What is Technology?
Technology is a body of knowledge devoted to
creating tools, processing actions and extracting
of materials.
Communication Technology: technicaly means to
transmit information or data from one place to anothr
or from one person to another.
What is Social Media ?
•Social Media is the future of communication.
•Countless internet based tools
•Transfer of text, photos, audio, video, and
information in general increasingly fluid among
internet users.
Statistics about Impact of Technology

Less authentic
•One – third of younger generation admitted relationship end due to
social media

Advantages of using Technology
•Helps to us to communicate to others.
•Help us to aim better living
•Helps to improve teaching and learning process.
•Provide us entertainment.
•We can be updated through social happenings.
•We can buy stuffs through web (online shopping)
Disadvantages of using Technology
•Some people are addicted to it.
•Wasting money.
•Wasting time
•Lack of privacy
•Increase of cyber crime.
•Makes people lazy
•Change in Attitudes
•Poor eyesight
Disadvantages of using Technology
The Gateway to Isolation
•Today we are connected to one another more than
ever before in history
•But we are also more lonely in our unplugged lives
Social media provides an illusion of companionship
without the demands of friendship or intimacy
Families Before and Now
What happened to face-to-face
communication?
•People have become more comfortable with the
thought of texting a friend, rather than speaking
to them in person
•Less face to face interactions
•Non verbal interactions likes eye contact, expressions,
touch etc. are very crucial forms of social interactions
that are natural in humans but slowly these are slipping
away from our lives
Decline in outdoor activities
Regular recreational or social
activities take a back seat while
social networking is the prime
agenda
The younger generation today opts
for playing on an XBOX rather than
playing on the field and interacting
with other kids
The older ones too, are more interested in surfing
the net or exploring their smart phones and table
ts in leisure time instead of hanging out with
friends and family
An active life is slowly giving way to a rather
confined and lazy digital world.
Conclusion
Technology is undoubtedly one of the biggest
human achievement till date. While using it to
the right amount can be a great advantage, total
addiction can affect our social life and human
relations. Its up to us to decide whether to be
friend it or let it be our master!
