Information technology (IT) refers to computing technologies like networking, hardware, software, the internet, and people who work with these technologies. While IT has automated and increased the effectiveness of business functions, it has also led to some negative impacts:
IT can reduce the number of jobs as a few people can do the work of many, increasing unemployment. It also raises privacy issues as personal information can become publicly available, and lack of job security as skills must constantly be updated. Implementation of new technologies is also very expensive for industries.

Lee Rainie, director of Internet and Technology research at the Pew Research Center, gave the Holmes Distinguished Lecture at Colorado State University on April 13, 2018. He discussed the research the Center conducted with Elon University’s Imagining the Internet Center about the future of the internet and the way digital technologies will spread to become the “internet of everywhere” and “artificial intelligence” everywhere. He also explored the ways in which experts say this will create improvements in people’s lives and the new challenges – including privacy, digital divides, anti-social behavior and stress tests for how human social and political systems adapt.

Changes made by Information Technology (IT) in our SocietyJigyasa Singh
It would be ungrateful on our part not to recognize how immense the boons are which modern technology has given to mankind. Can we think of living without computers, mobile phones, electricity or modern methods of publishing? We all know the impact of technology in medical science & education system on us.

PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert
In this presentation, we examine the challenges and limitations of relying too heavily on PHP frameworks in web development. We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

State of ICS and IoT Cyber Threat Landscape Report 2024 preview
negative aspects of I.T.
1. Before understanding negative or bad impacts of
I.T.,one should understand the meaning of
information technology in the present scenario.
2. "Information Technology," and is pronounced "I.T." It
refers to anything related to computing technology, such
as networking, hardware, software, the Internet, or the
people that work with these technologies.
3. Information technology has transformed the way
companies do business.
Manual business functions have been automated with
the development of personal computers, business
software.
Companies develop internal business technology to
increase the effectiveness of business function.
4. Unemployment
Privacy
Lack of job security
Dominant culture
Implementation expenses
Health effects
Improper development of education
5. I.T. can create jobs of a few persons with the capacities of
doing the job of more workers.
This means that a lot of lower and middle level jobs have
been done away with causing more people to become
unemployed.
One example is the technological developments in the
photography industry. Several years ago, in the photography
industry, we have to depend on several parties. Start of
recording images (movies), washing the print (print laundry
services), store (photo album), and send (post office).
Now under digital camera technology, one can do all of above
jobs in a single shot.
6. Though information technology may have made
communication quicker, easier and more
convenient, it has also brought along privacy issues.
From cell phone signal interceptions to email
hacking, people are now worried about their once
private information becoming public knowledge.
With the help of camera technology now a days
criminals can take any type of pictures to blackmail
people.
7. Since the technology is changing day by day one
has to keep learning or updating his/her knowledge
or else the job he/she is doing will be not secure.
For the sake of development in the technology of
oracle many software engineers have lost their jobs
in some parts of the world.
8. While information technology may have made the
world a global village, it has also contributed to one
culture dominating another weaker one.
Globalization of I.T. made the world smaller. It
means different and variety of cultures in the world
are losing their values and ethics.
For example it is now argued that US influences
how most young teenagers all over the world now
act, dress and behave.
9. Implementation of I.T. in the industry is not a
single cost that means purchasing of program is
not sufficient. Because the purchased program is to
be developed over the period that is also additional
cost.
Personnel for running the program and
infrastructure to run the program are also extra cost
for the industry.
10. Recently mobile phone technology has been
developed drastically. So the radioactive waves from
mobile phones and other related equipment are
damaging the health conditions of people.
Similarly different types of unhealthy conditions
are begetting from various advanced technical
equipment.
For example regular and continious viewing of
computers badly affects eyes, brain and other parts
of the body.
11. Especially education field has become highly
technified. This technology has not been properly
introduced for proper development of education.
Mobile phones, computers, cameras are used for
mass copying, forgery and duplicating of
educational systems.
