Objectives
• By the end of a month (20 school days),
pupils will be able to recall words taught
in the topic “Pet’s World”.
Success Criteria
• Pupils will be able to recall 18 out of 20
words taught in the topic “Pet’s World”
Materials you need
• 3 boxes or containers. Label with good,
better, best.
• Flash cards written with words of focus
and its pictures.

• lungs
• skin
• wheat

• hatch
• fly

Movement

Step 1
• On 1 side of the card, teacher writes
word.
• The other side will have a picture to
reflect the word.
Step 2
• In class, teacher pre-teaches the words
with the correct pronunciation and
putting the words in context to promote
understanding.
Step 3
• Teacher revises the words on the cards
by showing the pictures.
• If the pupils manage to say the word,
teacher puts the card in the Best box.
• If the pupils can not say it correctly, the
word will go into the Good box.
Step 4
• The next day, teacher revises the
words in the Good box by showing the
pictures, if the pupils can say the
words, the words will go into the Better
box.

• If the pupils can not say the word in any
of the boxes, the word will move back to
the previous box.
Time Frame
• A month (20 school days).
Assessment
• After a month, words in the Best box
can be assessed by:
Listening to the teacher and circle the correct picture
(whole class)
Respond verbally to the picture shown (individually)

• Teacher will check on her list on the
words able to be recalled by her pupils.
• Pupils who able to recall words at least
once in any of the two assessments will
be considered successful.
