This document discusses how to attract and retain Millennials in the travel industry in Singapore. Millennials value constant progression and advancement. However, jobs in the travel industry are often not perceived as worthwhile, challenging, or offering opportunities for progression. To attract Millennials, the travel industry must rethink job frameworks to emphasize meaningful work, learning new skills, and clear paths for advancement. It must also improve perceptions of travel industry jobs by highlighting opportunities rather than limitations.

Why bill gates chose warren buffet as his role modelIvan Walsh
Should you use a role model to develop your business? Maybe you should: the top business magazines say, ‘be yourself, be authentic, share your story’ Or maybe you shouldn’t. For entrepreneurs, using a role model creates a dilemma. Does it mean you’ve sold out? Do you lose street cred? Can you really copy someone else and be true to yourself?

The digital and creative sectors really suffer from a lack of job-ready graduates. It’s time that we employ our skills to fix this problem.
I believe we can transform education to create better graduates with more opportunities and a healthier landscape for business growth.
For graduates, professionals and businesses, building a strong reputation or brand in the digital social sphere is now an important ingredient for success.
This reputation is no longer simply based on the work you do, it’s about the good you do too.
I'm proposing social utilities that help both individuals and businesses build their reputation through digital mentoring.

It’s not About the Job; it’s About Your Life!Ford Myers
When it comes to job search and career development, I think 99% of the population has it wrong and “does it backwards.” This realization comes from my more than 20 years of experience as a Career Coach, and after working with literally thousands of clients.
In today's competitive employment environment, it's more important than ever to understand and be able to articulate your value in the marketplace. Developing a Personal Brand statement, maximizing the use of social media to communicate and share your brand and identifying activities that allow your brand to shine are critical components of effective Personal Branding.
Why our executive team didn't write our culture deck, on Harvard Business Review: http://blogs.hbr.org/cs/2013/06/why_executive_teams_shouldnt_write.html
Is corporate culture really about organizational structure and incentives? What the company’s founders and executive team is on a mission to accomplish? How those same people ideally want their culture projected to investors? Or is company culture more about who people are and how they interact – what commonalities they share, and how they work and play?
Genuine culture is organic, not imposed. It’s why our executive team did not write our culture deck. Culture is what keeps people at Nanigans – not our mission statement or how our teams are structured. Our culture deck is a guide for company hiring and fit, as much as it is a signature of what’s made us so successful to date.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert

We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.
Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.
