David Hall created a small island level in Unity to allow players to explore scenic views and a cave. The level was inspired by Assassin's Creed Black Flag and aimed to recreate the feel of being a pirate stranded on an abandoned smuggler's island from the 1700s. Hall added terrain, vegetation, ruins, and a ship offshore to set the scene and encourage player immersion and storytelling without strict objectives. After blocking out the design, Hall focused on realistic lighting, water, and environmental details to polish the exploration-based demo level.
