Type of copy – For my double page spread I will producea VIP copy; this is
usually conventional if you relate it to MIXMAG. Why I chose this kind of style
was because the layout is easy to follow and the structure of the spread is easy to
do. The VIP copy includes a main image on the right; this image usually sets the
mood and the theme of the article. On the left hand side of the copy there is
usually columns in which various questions and answers are written, these are
about the person you are talking about. Also there’s always a paragraph at the
beginning, this gives the audience an idea of who person is, this paragraph will
also talk about the person inspirations and background (information of artist).
The style of the VIP is usually informal, informative and casual; it lets the artist
lead the questions and makes everyone focus on that one person. If you involve
publication, having a VIP double page spread on a artist is conventional MIXMAG
do this regularly to inform the fans what’s going on and who’s up and coming.
The target audience for this type of spread will be people who would subscribe
and buy the MIXMAG magazine on a monthly basis, they are people who are keen
on learning and reading about something new, they might also be people who
club on a regular basis, aged between 24-26, predominately male, they might be
desperate to find out if the artist they are reading about will perform around
their local clubs meaning they will inform DJ’S, they will also want to know if any
gig’s and events related to this artist are set with dates and times.
Style - I am doing a VIP article this means that it will be laid out in a style in
which text will include both questions and answers, this particular style will
follow some sort of style. Having this kind of style will allow me to organize and
follow my work. First of all I will need to introduce the artist and make people
aware of whom this person really is. When asking the questions if I go about it in
a versatile manner maybe I can improvise and change some based on the
interviewees response. One disadvantage could be that the artist maybe shy of
talking lots, so in this case information, facts and opinions maybe hard to come
by.
Format – The format of my article will be a laid out in a VIP style, it will have a
introduction introducing the artist, this will be followed by questions and
answers divided into columns and paragraphs. I want my article to be ‘neat’,
‘understanding’ and ‘sophisticated’ having this will mean it will be easy to read
and follow. The right page will have a picture of the artist and on the left will be
the artist information, which is the introduction and the answers and questions
as well.

2. Considerations – My VIP copy will be from 500-700 words. This will include
answers and questions also, all this text will take up the left hand side of the
page, and any relevant products, which have to be advertised I will include too.
