Measures of Dispersion and Variability: Range, QD, AD and SD
Unit 30 l05 simpson
1. Evaluation
I feel that overall my proposed idea has been very successful and I have received very positive feedback about
my ideas and about the design of my pages. The positives of my magazines pages was that the masthead stood
out and the colour scheme of the pages were very clear. Also the pictures used were very professional and of
high quality. It was suggested that I needed to improve the puff promotion on my front cover in order for it to
stand out more and also adding more detail into what the articles inside the magazine contain.
The changes I need to make is to cut down on the amount of equipment I need because the amount of
equipment listed isn’t necessarily needed and could result in the magazines making less profits in the future.
Also I may have to give the magazine more time to be created in the production plan in order for the magazine
to be of the highest quality and compete with competitors successfully.
2. Survey monkey: Question 1
For the question ‘was each slide easy to understand?’ I received 100% positive feedback so therefore each
person that watched my presentation was able to understand exactly what was happening on each of the slides.
3. Question 2
For the question ‘Did I build a good rapport with audience?’ I also received 100% positive feedback so therefore
the audience felt a built a good connection with them and made eye contact throughout my presentation and I
kept them engaged.
4. Question 3
For the question ‘Was my presentation engaging?’ I also received 100% positive feedback so therefore the
audience felt I kept them engaged throughout my presentation and my presentation wasn’t boring or repetitive.
5. Question 4
For the question ‘Were the images used relevant to the slides?’ I also received 100% positive feedback so
therefore the audience felt that the images I used in my presentation were relevant to my magazine and of a
good quality.
6. Question 5
For the question ‘Did I include enough information on each slide?’ I also received 100% positive feedback so
therefore the audience felt that each of my slides on my presentation were very detailed and therefore were of a
high quality.
11. Evidence of feedback
These are the corrections in which I received for my pitch. After receiving these
corrections in my witness statement I went back onto my pitch and amended it with
these corrections.
13. Pitch improvements
Puff promotion:
The first improvement in which I made was editing my puff
promotion on my magazine front cover so therefore it looks
more professional and more suited to my magazine.
DPS analysis:
The next improvement would be to include my DPS in my
pitch. So therefore the client can see exactly what the DPS
looks like and decide their opinion on it.
House Style/ Colour scheme:
Another improvement that needs to be made is to edit the
colour scheme slide in order for it to fit the design of the
Bass front cover.
14. Profit/ loss breakdown

Total= £20,930 + £103,500= £124,430
£226,634-£124,430= £-102,204.54
15. Conclusion
Overall for this learning objective I have felt that I have received very positive feedback for my pitch from the
people that watched my pitch. Therefore this means that my pitch is likely to attract publishers and will be
more likely to get onto different shop shelves.
Also this feedback I have received has enabled me to be able to know exactly what I need to improve on
because if my pitch wasn’t successful I will be able to go back and edit parts of the pitch or the designs of my
magazine pages so therefore it will be more likely to be successful next time.
