This document outlines the curriculum for a 7th grade humanities unit on culture and society. Students will explore how identity is shaped by culture and society and the relationship between the two. They will study different historical cultures and societies and create their own. Assignments include dystopian novels, biographies, presentations, and developing an original culture. Students will rotate through lessons on ancient South America, Greece, Rome, and medieval England. They will also read Lord of the Flies and complete regular reading assignments. Assessments include tests, projects, and presentations.
