I chose this date because both the model
and myself were available on this day.

The shot type was a medium close up of
which my photographer had taken. We
didn’t use any props, this is because all I
wanted was m artist in his own clothes.
The shot type I liked the most was a
medium close up because you can see the
top part of the outfit and the models face
clearly and I feel this is very important
when getting a good photo for the
magazine front cover.

The photoshoot had taken place within
the school and the only permission
needed was to leave the classroom to find
a white wall.
The reason for me using an area within
the school is because it allowed me to go
and take the images quickly with my
model and photographer.

I chose the location of a white wall so that
when it came to editing the image I can
edit it much easier.
Where I had asked the photographer to
take my images there wasn't really any
dangerous activity. As I didn't want to put
my model in danger.

4. Hazards at the work place
The health and safety at work act is the act that is linked within any hazards at the
work place. It places a duty on all employers “to ensure, so far as is reasonably
practicable, the health, safety and welfare at work” of all their employees.
Before taking the images I needed to make sure that the artist gave their full
permission to being photographed and the image being published both online and in
print media. I found that the best way to gain permission was to send an email to the
artist describing what they have to wear, the location and time of the shoot. I gave
them a form to sign so that they have permission to be photographed this means that
if there are any future legal difficulties it would not be the magazine that is going to be
at fault.
When looking around the location for the images several area checks had to be taken.
This risk assessment had to be conducted to guarantee both the artist and the people
who are taking the images are going to be safe. Areas that should be looked at are
possible hazards such as uneven ground levels, running water, heights and weather
conditions.

5. Ethical and Legal issues
There are many legal and ethical issues within media. Firstly, there is copyright which
comes underneath the legal side. Legal protection is used so that any original material
cannot be used by someone else. However, copyright can only be applied on the
application of the idea but not the idea itself. Also there is national security which is
another legal issue that filmmakers face. Filmmakers and producers must be aware of
laws such as official secrets act 1911 and the prevention of terrorism act.
Secondly, there is ethical issues such as right and wrong which have to be taken into
account. Exploitation and sensationalism also have to be considered and taken into
account. Offensive material such as privacy and copyright. These are not usually
enforced by law. Regulatory bodies and codes of practice exist often within the
industry.

6. Conclusion
To conclude, in the section I completed the location recce table. Which gave an
overview of where the photoshoot is going to take place, the different types of shots
and more. This allowed me to plan when and where I wanted to take my pictures by
having a schedule it allows you keep things simple.
I then wrote about any hazards at the work place and had to explain the act that
interlinks with it, which is the health safety at work act. This gave me a rough outline
of what you need to look out for when taking pictures in a place you maybe have
never been to. In order to keep your model as safe as possible you should be scouting
the whole area looking for any sharp objects or any safety hazards that may affect the
model, photographer or anyone around.
