2. Location recce
Location time and date The location was near an urban area late on a winter
night. This created an urban look and a kind of spooky
atmosphere to the photograph
Picture props equipment The only props I used was clothing. I used a brand of
clothing that is well known in the hip hop/rap culture.
This makes the photo more suitable for the genre of
magazine that I have selected
Permission There was no permission needed because the photo
was taken of me.
Potential hazards the only potention hazards was traffic whilst taking the
photo it was late at night so luckily there was no cars or
pedestrians
3. Hazard in the work place
Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974. Often referred to as HASAW or HSW, this Act of
Parliament is the main piece of UK health and safety legislation. It places a duty on all
employers "to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare at
work" of all their employees.

4. Role of relevant regulatory bodies
The Independent Press Standards Organization (IPSO) is the independent regulator
for the newspaper and magazine industry in the UK. We hold newspapers and
magazines to account for their actions, protect individual rights, uphold high
standards of journalism and help to maintain freedom of expression for the press.
• They make sure that member newspapers and magazines follow the
editors code
• They investigate complaints about printed and online material that may
breach the Editors’ Code.

5. copyright
When using other images it is important to
check if there is any copyright regulations on the
photos. When creating the pages I avoided using
copyrighted images so I did not have to worry
about asking for permission to use the images.
6. watermark
Putting on a watermark is a good idea if you do
not want people to copy one of your photos.
This is because it is hard to Photoshop the
watermark off without the picture looking
warped or bad.
In the image it shows that I have inserted a
watermark on my image to avoid people using
it in their work.
7. Data protection act 1988
The The Data Protection Act controls how your
personal information is used by organisations,
businesses or the government. Everyone
responsible for using data has to follow strict
rules called ‘data protection principles’.

8. Conclusion
In this unit I have highlighted the legal sides to
making a magazine and the use of photos with
copyright regulations on them. I have also
quoted the date protection act and linked to the
governments website so people can read more
about the act. Furthermore I have shown the
risks taken in the work place and the props and
scenery used in the making of the photograph
