Analysis Of Rene Descartes s The Descartes
Rene Descartes was a French mathematician who concurred with Plato and the early scholars about
the significance of reason. Nonetheless, he found that his antecedents regularly settled their
thoughts upon what he took to be a to some degree temperamental and dubious establishment. In
this way, he starts his own venture by perceiving that all that he supposes he knows could be the
consequence of sense involvement, which can mislead us, as when we think the street is wet when
it is just a trap of light or acquired thoughts, which might be valid but additionally have not been
confirmed. As such, Descartes starts his venture with the progressive thoughtthat we may not know
anything by any stretch of the imagination with any sureness. Along these lines, Descartes chooses
to strip away the greater part of his convictions until the main ones that remain are the ones that
totally can t be questioned. Once these center convictions are set up, he reasons that he can
manufacture every single future conviction upon these bedrock bits of learning. To do this stripping
endlessly, he utilizes a progression of progressively solid otherworldly questions. We ll talk about
what happens to his quest for information in no time, yet for the time being, we should investigate
the framework he thought of to manage his request of the Cartesian Method Discourse on Method
introduces the four statutes that describe the Cartesian Method:

The Importance Of Professionalism And Professional Behavior
According to me, Professionalism and professional behavior is very context specific. It requires us
to behave appropriately at all times and in all situations. Professionalism requires us to make
difficult judgments and requires us to challenge poor practices and unacceptable behaviour and
attitudes. A person should be easily approachable, polite, courteous, respectable and confident.
Having dignity and self respect is also very professional.
Shaking another professional hands firmly, maintaining a proper and distinct eye contact, shaking
your head and replying to everything another fellow says all contribute to professionalism.
We keep on telling ourselves that we need to meet more people and that our circle of influence
needs to be strengthened. We always want out skills and talents to be discovered. Our career
requires us to network. In today s competitive and dynamic world, we all have to be more
professional than ever. Networking requires a strategic approach that we can learn from while
introducing ourselves to professionals. Being strategic and viewing networking through an
opportunity vision can prove to be a powerful professional development.
As a college student, I display professionalism every moment of my day. Be it with fellow
student, a professor, a teacher s assistant or even the college employees. I always keep the door
open if there someone behind me who needs to enter the room too. I always maintain eye contact
with someone who is speaking to me. I refer

The Historical Area Of Israel And Palestine
The history of the geographical area substituting Israel and Palestine is one of war and bloodshed.
For nearly three millennia people have been fighting over the Holy Land in wars that were religious
in their essence. An understanding of the historic background of the area is important to
comprehend the present day reasons for the complexity of the task of conflict resolution. The
simplified timeline provided below is an attempt to summarise the most important events. Since the
Israelites conquest in approximately 1250BC, rule over the Holy Land went from hand to hand,
including Israelite, Babylonian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Muslim control. This early history
is tightly linked to the Jewish people and their displacement which... Show more content on

The public would not know of this agreement until the end of 1917, only three weeks after the
Balfour Declaration, a letter granting royal British support for the creation of a Jewish state in
Palestine, was issued. Suspicion grew between Arabs, Jews, and the British. In 1920, two years
after the end of WWI, the area which used to be the Ottoman empire was split into mandates,
giving the British control over Palestine. During the 1930s the Nazis gained power in Germany,
leading to big waves of Jewish immigration to Palestine, especially during times of Jewish
persecution between 1933 and 1945. This period was marked by Palestinian uprisings against
the British Mandate, and after the Second World War had commenced in 1939 also by Jewish
resistance to the British. In 1947, two years after the Nazis had been defeated and WWII had
ended, the British government handed the issue of the Palestinian future, which had seen Jewish
mass migration during and after the war, to the United Nations, which voted the partition of
Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state. Despite Israeli attacks on Palestinian villages in early
1948, the British ended their mandate over Palestine on May 14th, now celebrated by Israelis as
Independence Day, by Palestinians lamented as Nakba (catastrophe). On May 15, the first Israeli
Arab war began, including several members of the Arab League. The following year over 700,000

Developing nations especially face problems of overpopulation because of their tendency to have
more children to work and support the families. Many of the most overpopulated nations are
located in the Middle East, as well as in nations of Europe.
II. Past UN Actions: In order to address the issue of overpopulation, the United Nations established
the UN Population Fund in 1973 to become the initial manager in promoting population
programmes. The UNFPA primarily focuses on educating individuals, as well as governments, on
healthcare and family services in order to provide the information they need to ensure safe and
planned pregnancies for families. This corporation also advocates for gender equality and youth
empowerment in conjunction with communities, academic institutions, and numerous
organizations to promote the implementation of the ICPD Programme of Action. In addition, the
UN Population Division and the UN Statistics Division bring together information on prevalent
issues, such as migration and development, marriage and fertility figures, and expansion around the
world. Together they work with the Commission on Population and Development and the
Committee for the Coordination of Statistical activities in providing data and news for this
problem. The United Nations has predicted the world population to

Sectional Tensions Of The Civil War Essay
Throughout early American History, the issue of slavery was considered by many to be unsolvable.
The North and the South were unwilling to compromise once tensions reached a high in the mid
1800 s leading to the Civil War. Already high tensions in the United States between the North and
South, were pushed to a toppling point over the controversy about slavery. It was only a matter of
time before the Nation would have to resolve this issue and attempt to unite the Country. This
sectional tension can be seen during two presidential administrations that either precede, or occur
during the Civil War; the administrations of President Franklin Pierce, and of Abraham Lincoln.
Thus, the issue of slavery economically and politically polarized the Country... Show more content

While the North grew in manufacturing throughout the 1840 s and 1850 s, the southern economy
remained stagnant. In fact, the slave states possessed only around 18% of the total national
manufacturing capacity during this period. Over half of this manufacturing capacity was located in
the border states, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, and Missouri, whose populations had
questionable loyalty to the South. These border states were only southern in some aspects, and
thus, did not secede from the Union. Because of the lack of true southern manufacturing, it was
hard to generate large profits, as all agricultural produce had to be shipped North in order to be
manufactured. For example, most cotton from the South was sent to the North for spinning and
manufacturing into clothing. From there, the garments created would be sent back to the South, at
a marked up, higher price. The production difference between the South and the North made the
South completely dependent on the North, economically. According to one southerner, Financially
[the south is] more enslaved than [its] negroes .Thus, the South s utter reliance the North for even
the most basic staples, including clothing, books, and tools, led to intense friction between the two

Analysis Of When The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In...
For decades discrimination has been continuously growing, being angled at minority groups. These
negative outlooks have created many barriers and disadvantages, with society, for those belonging
to different cultures. Each set of characters within the stories are created with different
backgrounds, but live with similar expectations and struggles. These barriers occur in day to day
activities and interactions, affecting individuals, and creating negativity. Paul K. Chappell once
said, To truly listen to others, we must develop empathy. If we do not empathize with people, we
cannot really hear what they are saying. When we do not listen with empathy, we hear only their
words (Chappell). White reading each short story, Amy Tan s Two Kinds, and Sherman Alexie s
When the Lone Rangerand TontoFistfight in Heaven, the reader is able to connect the stories
characters through race, culture, and ethnicity to create that feeling of empathy Chappell was trying
to introduce.
In the stories, two kinds and The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, we see how the
families each are treated poorly because they are of different races. In two kinds the family is a
Chinese family. When moving to the United States Tan must change to look more like an
American girl so they cut her hair. Tan explains her change by saying, I now had hair the length
of a boys, with straight across bangs that hung at a slant two inches above my eyebrow (516).
Tans original look made her stand out too much compared to an American child. By cutting off
her hair she felt that she could finally become perfect (516). By explaining the drastic changes
they felt were needed Tan is showing how far individuals are willing to go in order to be
accepted. In The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven the characters is spoken poorly to
by an officer. When found driving around late at night the main character is told you should be
more careful where you drive, says the officer continuing with, your making people nervous. You
don t fit the profile of the neighborhood (35). The young man is being told that people are afraid

Salvador Dali s Work For Inspiration
Salvador Dali is a 20th century artist from Spain and he is known for having the technique
surrealism . Surrealism is described to be an anti art and surfaced in between the World Wars.
The art form in surrealism looks abstract as images come from the artists subconscious mind and
later transferred to a blank piece of canvas. Besides being a renowned painter, Salvador Dali was
also involved in film, fashion, sculpture, and photography. His legacy continued on as modern
artists seek Dali s work for inspiration. Museums honoring Dali s name and art are everywhere,
particularly one that is local in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Dali might have been a gifted and
unique painter, but through analyzing his behavior, works, letters, and way of life, people see
his exterior as a crazy man. Salvador Dali s life started on May 11, 1904 in Catalonia, Spain.
Dali had one older brother that was born nine months before Dali, but eventually died.his parents
named Salvador Dali after his dead brother, basically becoming a dead ringer of his brother. Dali
s parents are complete opposites from one another. His father is completely strict, while his
beloved mother nurtured and accepted his son despite his eccentric behaviors. By the time Dali
was 16, his mother died of breast cancer and his father quickly remarried his mom s sister. This
creates multiple tensions between Dali and his father and would often fight and argue with each
other. At some points, Dali s father would punish him

Preserving Historic District Conservation Project
A historic district or heritage district is a section of a city which contains older buildings considered
valuable for historical or architectural reasons. This definition first appeared in Athens Charter,
1933. In China, any region that is classified as a historical district should contain a group of
buildings that have cultural heritage significance with relatively integrated exterior and structures.
All of these historic districts are cultural artifacts, and their stories are entwined with relevant
human civilization. Thus, for cultural heritage conservation, 99 National Historic and Culturally
Famous Towns have been promulgated by Chinese State Council in three groups since 1982. At the
same time, different provinces and autonomous regions have also issued their own list of Historical
and Culturally Famous communities. However, I considered that during the implementation of
promoting historic districtconservation project, many people misunderstand the initial purpose and
the process of restoration. Therefore, huge numbers of cultural heritages were transformed to fake
antique , and the cultural heritage value of relevant places has been seriously diminished.
Currently, historic districts are seriously affected by urban modernization and commercialization.
During different parties are willing to take part in relevant conservation project, how to maintain a
balance between development and cultural heritage conservation has become one of most popular
issue in

Bottega Veneta was established in 1966 by Michele Taddei and Renzo Zengiaro in Vicenza. The
name Bottega Veneta means Venetian shop in Italian. Bottega Veneta prided themselves on
craftsmanship. They developed a leather weaving technique called intrecciato that remains a
signature of the brand. In the beginning of the 1970s, Bottega Venetabuilt its reputation around the
irreproachable quality of their work and advertising with the tag line When your own initials are

Algonquin Provincial Park, a park that located between Georgian Bay and the Ottawa River in
Central Ontario, was established in 1893 and it is the oldest provincial park in Canada. As a big
forest, here is a question, should logging be allowed in Algonquin Park? The answer should be
yes. There are a number of benefits of logging, such as timber resources, land resources, and job
opportunities. However, it should be limited. In an ecosystem, balance is the most important
thing. First of all, wood is a necessary martial of human. Many of important furniture like bed,

For instance, in grassland, there are three living beings, wolves, sheep, and grasses. The food
chain of them is wolves eat sheep, and sheep eat grasses. They are all necessary in the food
chain. For instance, if without wolves which are sheep s natural enemy, sheep will keep
growing until they eat all of grasses, and then grassland will be a desert, and sheep will become
extinct because of no food. However, if there are only wolves and grasses, that will also be
horrible. Grasses will keep growing, and wolves will die out, due to no food, and no space for
living. It is also a problem, if there are no grasses. Wolves will become extinct after sheep die
out. In other words, balance is important than everything in an ecosystem. The food chain is
similar with logging in the Park. If government does not allow logging in the Park, those trees
will keep growing, visitors will be difficult to visit or hike in the Park, and the accident rate will
be increased. However, if government allows clear cutting in the Park, it will destroy Algonquin
Park. In Wikipedia, the definition of Clear cutting is a forestry practice in which most or all trees
in an area are uniformly cut down. (Wikipedia) There are still two logging methods, Shelter wood
and Selection cutting. Shelter wood refers to a progression of forest cuttings leading to the
establishment of a new generation of seedlings of a particular species or group of species without

harvesting trees in a way that moves a forest stand towards an uneven aged or all aged condition,

Marketing is the beginning of everything. An old saying states that nothing happens until a sale is
made, and that is true. But until someone does some marketing, there is nothing to sell, and no
premise on which to sell it. Marketing is the eyes and ears of the company, tuned to the customer,

They do not actually pay for the listing, but only when the listing is clicked on. CPC differs from
CPV in that each click is paid for regardless of whether the user makes it to the target site. This is
one of the most popular models used.
CPA (Cost Per Action) or (Cost Per Acquisition) advertising is performance based and is common
in the affiliate marketing sector of the business. In this payment scheme, the publisher takes all the
risk of running the ad, and the advertiser pays only for the amount of users who complete a
transaction, such as a purchase or sign up. This is the best type of rate to pay for banner
advertisements and the worst type of rate to charge.
o Similarly, CPL (Cost Per Lead) advertising is identical to CPA advertising and is based on the
user completing a form, registering for a newsletter or some other action that the merchant feels
will lead to a sale. o Also common, CPO (Cost Per Order) advertising is based on each time an
order is transacted. o CPE (Cost Per Engagement) model means advertising impressions are free
and advertisers pay only when a user engages with their specific ad unit. Engagement is defined as
a user interacting with an ad in any number of ways.

. Summarise the Historical Changes in Childhood Experience...
There is little evidence of what it was really like in the past so it is difficult for a lot of people to
re construct the life of a child, however from what I have researched, and in my own opinion I am
going to summarise the historical changes in childhood experience and relate these changes to
childhood development and rights.
In the 19th century I think children missed out on most of their childhood as most of them took on
jobs such as chimney sweepers, street sellers and farms for example. These were mainly
children from poor families who were seen as extra farm hands and were exploited by receiving
low pay for long hours and working in poor conditions. Families did not look at how the children
were treated and the possible impact ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also from what my grandad has told me, back then they weren t allowed to express themselves as
they would get emotional and physical abuse towards them, so they just carried on with everyday
life.
They was wealthy families and was a lot easier from them as they had the money to attend a
private school or was home schooled. They were also encouraged to donate money and goods to
the poor.
Kerry Woolford
Even though a legislation was drawn up and improved childhood education, healthcare and welfare,
children were and even now in modern society around the world are being taken advantage of for
monetary gain.
Modern society now especially since 1997 have tried putting children first such as committing to
meeting children s needs. There are still problems such as school truancy, adolescents not in
education or training and also child protection as there have been tragic deaths including baby P

recognized by banks and merchants during 1840 and 1850. The 1850 s witnessed a rapid
development of commercial enterprise and brokerage business attracted many men into the field
and by 1860 the number of brokers increased into 60.
In 1860 61 the American Civil War broke out and cotton supply from United States of Europe was
stopped; thus, the Share Mania in India begun. The number of brokers increased to about 200 to
250.
However, at the end of the American Civil War, in 1865, a disastrous slump began (for example,
Bank of Bombay Share which had touched Rs 2850 could only be sold at Rs. 87). At the end of
the American Civil War, the brokers who thrived out of Civil War in 1874, found a place in a
street (now appropriately called as Dalal Street) where they would conveniently assemble and
transact business. In 1887, they formally established in Bombay, the Native Share and Stock
Brokers Association (which is alternatively known as The Stock Exchange ). In 1895, the Stock
Exchange acquired a premise in the same street and it was inaugurated in 1899. Thus, the Stock
Exchange at Bombay was consolidated.

Sherlock Holmes Personality
While the reasons for Sherlock Holmes popularity in the nineteenth century and the beginning of
the twentieth are comprehensible enough in the light of the abovementioned facts, the explanation
for Sherlock`s continuing success requires a more detailed analysis. Many characters that were
popular at the time of their creation are forgotten today; at the same time some images developed
hundreds of years ago are still famous and have become iconic in modern culture. Such characters
as Batman, Robin Hood, Harry Potter, Hobbits, and definitely Sherlock Holmesare the obvious
examples of such phenomena of popularity.

problems in the detective`s personality which can explain his eccentric behavior. The possible
symptoms vary from Asperger s Syndrome and autism to Bi polar disorder and schizophrenia

Bloody Cartoons Essay
Bloody Cartoons: Freedom of Expression and the Clash of Cultures
The documentary that I chose to watch is a documentary called Bloody Cartoons. The documentary
follows Karsten Kjaer around Denmark, Lebanon, Syria, Iran, Qatar, Turkey and France. Kjaer is a
Danish filmmaker who covers the uproar the representation of Mohammed in the Danish cartoons
caused within Muslims around the world. The film infers the extraordinary commitment and values
Muslims have towards their faith of Islam and its purpose was to show how certain freedoms of
one culture can and did offend the values and beliefs of another. It does a good job of presenting
both points of view of the topic of issue while effectively using Ethos, Pathos and Logos to aid in
the persuasion of both sides. Interviews with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Bloody Cartoons was very informational and the fact that it showed problems faced by the

the viewers a more tangible sense of how this subject impacts the lives and feelings of the people

more freedoms and rights but also includes how some of these can offend others perceptions and

I would recommend this documentary because it projects the impact of these cartoons on both the
makers of these and the community it offends all while giving history on why it is offensive to

Drug Resistance And Its Effect On The Clinical Benefit Of...
Drug resistance has become an obstacle in maximizing the clinical benefit of ART and
consequently, routine HIV genotyping is recommended prior to ART initiation during viral
rebounds and on the failure of an ART regimen. Successful PCR amplification of PR and RT
genes is essential regardless of which method is used for sequencing. Results from this study
show that not only it is possible to detect but also to characterize virus that continues to be
produced in low levels in such patients. The samples with LLV were amplified to determine
whether LLV present in patients on effective ART regimen resulted from the development of
drug resistance. Out of the 31 samples that were amplified using the optimized protocol, seven
had no product by the time library preparation was set up. The likelihood of the loss of PCR
products during clean up exists. There is a high possibility of mishandling the sample during
shipping and receiving of the samples. Instead of screw cap tubes, the samples were shipped on a
96 well plate with a film on top, which is not ideal as per protocol. Additionally, the ice packs had
melted by the time the lab received samples for sequencing. Since DNAdoes not evaporate easily,
lack of proper shipping and storage techniques could have led to samples spilling or possible
degradation.
Many samples had failed quality control step for library preparation via Nextera kit prior to Miseq

INTRODUCTION ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
Internship is an opportunity offered by various companies to potential students or candidates,
called as interns , to work in the firm for a limited or fixed time period. Internship offers students
lot of exposure to the practical world and provides practical experiences in the industry relating
to their field of study. This becomes a valuable experience as it allows us to understand how our
studies are applied in the real world , and it gives a good picture for our Curriculum Vitae`.
Internships can also be called as job training for professional careers. Internships generally, consists
exchange of ideas and services for experience between students and organizations. Some interns
find permanent, paid programme with the organizations for which they worked. This gives a
benefit to the employer as they do not have to search for a new employee, as the interns are trained
previously and they are less demanding. Internship experiences provide the opportunity to apply
classroom theories into the real world, thus it enhances the student s academic and their career goals.

How Did Marilyn Monroe Influence Society
She was the biggest movie goddess, the prime sex symbol to be alive at her time; Marilyn Monroe
was desired by many men, and is still an inspiration to many generations of women. Even after more
than fifty years after her death, she still continues to be an unrivaled fashion and movie icon. Even
though, Marilyn Monroeis not alive today, she still continues to influence today s society by defying
the typical model standard.
Marilyn Monroe was born Norma Jeane Baker on June 1, 1926 in Los Angeles, California.
During her early years she overcame many hardships. Marilyn s father deserted the family before
her birth, so she spent most of her childhood not knowing her father s identity. There are two
possibilities Edward Mortenson, who was named on her birth certificate, and Stanley Gifford,
who worked with her mother Gladys. Marilyn moved between many foster homes, when her
mother was sent to a mental hospital after developing psychiatric problems. Eventually, Grace
Mckee, her mom s best friend, became her guardian. Mckee allowed nine year old Marilyn to curl
her hair and wear makeup until Mckee married and sent her to an orphanage. She was then sent to
live with her great aunt, Olive Brunings, and it was thought that Marilyn was sexually assaulted by
Olive s son.
When Marilyn was sixteen she escaped her former life by marrying Jim Dougherty, a twenty one

Anti Tobacco Advertisements And Effects On Quitting...
In the article Recall of Anti Tobacco Advertisements and Effects on Quitting Behavior: Results from
the California Smokers Cohort the authors try to research if anti tobacco television advertisements
with personal message can be recall by the person and have a greater impact on smoking cessation.
The authors felt that this was an important topic to study because they were concern about the
dangers of smokingtobacco. According to Leas et al. (2015) Nondaily smoking and second hand
smoke exposure can lead to the same negative health consequences that result from daily smoking
(p.90). As a result, the authors engage in a cohort study where they use anti tobacco advertisements
to see which advertisement has a greater recall on smokers, and haves greater effect on smoking
cessation.

Summary Of Hills Like White Elephants By Ernest Hemingway
Sabrina Good
English 102
Ms. Vetro
29 September 2015
Importance of Setting in Hills like White Elephants Ernest Hemingway s short story Hills like white
Elephants is a minimalistic story about a young American girl named Jig and her lover, an
American man. Throughout the story, Hemmingway uses an abundant amount of dialogue so the
reader can interpret that Jig and the man are contemplating some decision. Arguably, the setting is
the most important aspect of Hills like White Elephants , and Ernest Hemingway uses setting subtly
but effectively to emphasize the decision they are contemplating, which is abortion. Jig and the
man are at a train station in Barcelona across the Ebro River, drinking beers, and discussing
frantically and anxiously whether they should proceed with the abortion. Jig does not agree with
having an abortion, although she does not directly say so. The American, on the other hand, thinks
that the abortion will be the answer to their problems and tries to convince Jig of that. Hemingway
highlights three elements of the story s setting: the train station, the overbearing heat, and the
contrasting sides of the valley, to show the couple s conflict and the difficulties of resolving their
decision. First, Hemingway uses a train station as the setting to show that the man and Jig have a
problem, and they are having a hard time trying to solve this problem. Hemingway wants to
emphasize that the man and Jig are at a crossroad, because they are indecisive

Watching TV Does More Harmful Things to People than Good...
Watching TV is an experience that most people do for almost all the time. Some people believe
that watching TV does more good things to people than harmful things, but other people say
that it does more harmful things to people than good things. The people who say that TV does
more harmful things than good things are doctors who know about things that are good and bad
in people s health and the people who say that TV is good for you are the people who watch a lot
of TV. Since doctors can help cure people and know what is good for people, this would mean
that the doctors are correct about TV harming people than the people who watch a lot of TV
who believe that TV can do good things to other people. Watching TV does more harmful things
to people than good things because it can cause them people to imitate bad behavior on TV, it
can cause people to have health problems, and that it can people s time away from doing
activities that help them become successful in their life. People who watch a lot of tv think that
they are not harmed by the TV but this however is not true. Doctors who know what s good for
people say that watching TV can cause a lot of harm to people since it can cause people to have
behavior problems and can cause them to not feel well from their health. One way that TV can do
more harmful things than good things is that it can cause people who watch a lot of TV to imitate
bad behavior on TV. According to KidsHealth.org, it said that TV

case study aims at discovering more about the different contexts of the opera, the structure, and the

environment around the time of the composition and the relationship that Handel had with the

In 1706, Handel travelled to Rome but at the time, the church had banned opera in some states so
he wrote sacred music for the church. It was in 1707 and 1709 that Handel wrote his fifth opera
Rodrigo and sixth opera Agrippina respectively. In 1710 on his way to London, after becoming
Kapellmeister to Prince George, Handel wrote his 7th opera, Rinaldo which premiered in 1711
on the 24th of February (Schoelcher, 1857). Handel wrote Rinaldo within a fortnight with the
directional aid of Aaron Hill who was the director of the Haymarket Theatre at the time. They
performed the opera 15 nights in a row which back then, was a rare occurrence (Lang, 2012).
These moments may have lead Handel to write the opera Rinaldo in 1711.
George Fredric Handel s librettist for the opera Rinaldo was Aaron Hill but Giacomo Rossi
translated it into Italian (Rodina, 2008). Rossi, has been universally condemned as a miserable
poetaster. However, the opera Rinaldo was Rossi s first libretto for Handel. Rossi does defend
himself for the pace that he had to write the lyrics for the opera. Mr. Hendel, the Orpheus of our
century, while composing the music, scarcely gave me time to write, and to my great wonder I
saw an entire opera put to music by that surprising genius, with the greatest degree of perfection...
Handel was often in front of the librettist when writing the music to any opera but especially for
Rinaldo. He was so impatient when waiting for lyrics from the librettist that

However, these discussions mostly are limited within a bunch of users, who read articles from
Yahoo page, forming an isolated deliberative group, this strengthen the fragmentation and

deliberation cannot fully promise the democracy on the Internet. Rasmussen (2008,p.9) also pointed
out that, debate often need to share moral values, but it is hard in an increasingly differentiate

result of many factors including the design and construction of the walkways supports, but more

concerns over this tragedy were raised as well as further investigation of possible negligence
resulting in the deaths and injuries.
The original walkway was designed to have single load bearing rods that would pass through the
fourth floor walkways supporting beams, be supported with nuts and washers and hang the second
floor walkway beneath as shown in the Original Detail in figure 1 . Due to a late design change for
apparent manufacturing issues, the change was quickly implemented to the As Built design shown

Personal Narrative On Mardi Gras
The blazing hot sun beamed down on my skin as the song Mardi Gras Mambo, a traditional song
almost everyone in Louisiana has heard once before replayed continuously and the shouts,
Throw me some beads mister, overwhelmed me. For years, I had waited to finally be a part of this,
no longer was I an average citizen at the corner of Capitol Street, hoping to be in knowledge. I was
a part of something grand, Mardi Gras. This was the first time I was getting to ride on the float
with my older cousins and other various family members. I never realized how much work was
put in to ensure success by the end of the night. I remeber how I stayed awake the night before,
restlessly pacing across the floor. It was to the point that I begin making a checklist, as I scuffled
my feet across the house, making sure that everything was in place.... Show more content on

After continuously begging me to loosen up, he decided to do something so a erratic that the
whole crowd would silence themselves. He picked me up and placed me on top of the bow of
the ship and yelled to the small crowd trailing nearby, You can take the girl out of the port, but
eventually she ll earn back that New Orleans flair! An older man around 60 grabbed onto his
hand and as he replied Laissez les bon temps rouler! (Let the good times roll!) The life in his
eyes gave me a sense of relativity. I quickly realized that everything was fine! The love New
Orleans and Mardi Gras was evident. Although, everyone there was different they we all shared
a common standpoint. Loose I want to go on my boat was still playing in the background and as
I aired out the noise around me and paid attention to the music I realize that the song was more
than just a song but it reflected the city of New Orleans: fast, complex, and full of life. Never

Transgressions In Mervyn Leroy s The Bad Seed
While the conclusion tacked onto the end of The Bad Seed didn t manage to change some of
the less obvious themes in Mervyn LeRoy s 1956 film, the new ending put in place by
conservative lobby groups affects the portrayal of transgressions from societal standards and
taboos. The dramatic difference in the ending gives the film a strong message that transgressions
can only be righted through an act of god. The fact that Rhoda is transgressive is still undeniably
a part of the film. In fact, Rhoda could even be considered twice as transgressive: she is both a
murderer and a child murderer, two separate taboos (Hendershot, p. 28). Further still, the fact that
Rhoda does not deviate into any other major taboos at any point during the film a stark

these scenarios to have real conversation with real people.

King Arthur Purple Symbolism In Medieval Literature
Heraldry is a type of visual language that was used as a means to distinguish between knights in
armor. This ancient language was unique to each knight or family due to the independent creation
of each blazon. King Arthur, son of King Uther Pendragon, is a transcendent mythological figure
that rules the over the kingdom of Camelot and the Knights of the Round Table. However, despite
Arthur s significance in medieval literature the heraldic symbols present on his flag are debatable.
Firstly, Purple symbolizes royalty or sovereignty. Due to Arthur s sovereign status as king of
Camelot one may conclude that the color of his flag would be purple. Finally, the hawk signifies
an individual s inability to rest until a particular objective is achieved.

The Assault Rifle Ban
If the government would take a more rapid pace in a full assault weapon ban, then the murder
rate in the country would drop dramatically. The U.S. has one of the highest murder rates for
developed countries such as Japan who has a murder rate of 0.4 per 100,000 people and Britain
with a 1.2 per 100,000 people. The U.S. has a murder rate of 4.7 per 100,000 people and it is not
getting any better. A ban on assault rifles would have a positive effect on the murder rate.
Assault rifles are known to be the most dangerous firearm in the world because of its rapid fire
capability and its deadly range and damage. That is what makes it such a unique and interesting
weapon that should not be taken lightly. The government has been working on some bills but they
are not putting enough work into making it happen. Senator Dianne Feinstein, who is in charge of
the processes of the ban, is suggesting is that the government passes a bill that will limit the
capacity of ammunition in a magazine and ban assault weapons that are too dangerous for public
use. The safety of U.S. citizens is vital and banning assault rifles will help make the United States a
safer place.
Assault rifles are defined as one of the most dangerous firearms. The government is working to
try to solve the assault weapons crisis, a problem is what they need to ban and what do they need
to limit. There is a large debate on what is classified as an assault weapon some argue that it is a
weapon that is fully automatic.

Sports And Non-Student Athlete Analysis
Sports are an important part of daily life, and those who play them experience many benefits that
make them a more well rounded person. They not only provide multiple physical benefits, but
also tons of mental ones as well. I have been involved in baseball since the age of three and can
definitely notice these compared to non student athletes. The advantages of playing sports
include valuable life lessons, social skills, and future employment. First, playing sports teaches
many valuable life lessons such as responsibility and a hard work ethic. Responsibility is very
crucial in life, and people use it everyday. It ties into a student s academics because he needs to
have responsibility in order to do well in school. According to Dr. David Geier... Show more content

Teamwork is a crucial aspect because a team wins together and loses together (Grown and
Flown, 2016). A number of studies provide support for the premise that physical activity, and
sports in particular, can positively affect aspects of personal development among young people,
such as self esteem, goal setting, and leadership (Aspen Play Project, 2015). Playing sports allow
students to make new friends; they realize other people also have the same interests as them.
Through teamwork, athletes experience leadership, another aspect of teamwork. Captains must
socialize with everyone consistently and usually need to be well liked. Leadership can also
affect how a team plays. It is hard to have a great team without superb leadership and teamwork,
making it necessary to have both. Socialization also includes what people do in their free time.
Compared to non athlete peers, females are more likely to disapprove of others using them
(Geier, 2012). According to Grown and Flown (2016), Teens who have practices, games, team
dinners and fitness sessions have less time for mischief, and in a study, students who participated
in sports were found to be happier (Grown and Flown, 2016). Over the years I have definitely
related to this. My parents say I am a much happier and more motivated person during baseball
season, and I

Cars Character Analysis
In the movie Cars, by John Lasseter, Lightning McQueen goes through a very large personal
change or healing process throughout the movie. This movie is more of a healing myth because,
In the beginning, he is a very stuck up and self centered character that only cares about winning.
By the end, he has turned to a more humble character that has a better view on the truly important
things in life. In other words, at the beginning he is broken and must go and truly see the finer
things in life and find himself before he can succeed. There are a few different things that changehis
attitude. One thing is the people that he meets in Radiator Springs. Second, is the general life of
the town that he has to accommodate to. Linda Seger describes a healing myth as one where a
character is broken and must leave home to become whole again . That statement describes this
movie in so many ways. Lightning McQueen leaves his home which is represented by his life on
the racing circuit, and goes on a journey where he becomes whole again before he can return home.
Lightning, meets a lot of different people, or cars, in this small town of Radiator Springs that
really change his attitude towards life and also his view on life. An good example would be Sally.
Sally is the pretty girl of this story. She is a nice and shiny blue porsche that Lightning ends up
falling in love with. The entire time that Lightning is in the town, he tries to impress Sally and
make her fall in love with him. They

  • 2. Analysis Of Rene Descartes s The Descartes Rene Descartes was a French mathematician who concurred with Plato and the early scholars about the significance of reason. Nonetheless, he found that his antecedents regularly settled their thoughts upon what he took to be a to some degree temperamental and dubious establishment. In this way, he starts his own venture by perceiving that all that he supposes he knows could be the consequence of sense involvement, which can mislead us, as when we think the street is wet when it is just a trap of light or acquired thoughts, which might be valid but additionally have not been confirmed. As such, Descartes starts his venture with the progressive thoughtthat we may not know anything by any stretch of the imagination with any sureness. Along these lines, Descartes chooses to strip away the greater part of his convictions until the main ones that remain are the ones that totally can t be questioned. Once these center convictions are set up, he reasons that he can manufacture every single future conviction upon these bedrock bits of learning. To do this stripping endlessly, he utilizes a progression of progressively solid otherworldly questions. We ll talk about what happens to his quest for information in no time, yet for the time being, we should investigate the framework he thought of to manage his request of the Cartesian Method Discourse on Method introduces the four statutes that describe the Cartesian Method: пѓ Never acknowledge anything as genuine anything that can be ... • 3. The Importance Of Professionalism And Professional Behavior According to me, Professionalism and professional behavior is very context specific. It requires us to behave appropriately at all times and in all situations. Professionalism requires us to make difficult judgments and requires us to challenge poor practices and unacceptable behaviour and attitudes. A person should be easily approachable, polite, courteous, respectable and confident. Having dignity and self respect is also very professional. Shaking another professional hands firmly, maintaining a proper and distinct eye contact, shaking your head and replying to everything another fellow says all contribute to professionalism. We keep on telling ourselves that we need to meet more people and that our circle of influence needs to be strengthened. We always want out skills and talents to be discovered. Our career requires us to network. In today s competitive and dynamic world, we all have to be more professional than ever. Networking requires a strategic approach that we can learn from while introducing ourselves to professionals. Being strategic and viewing networking through an opportunity vision can prove to be a powerful professional development. As a college student, I display professionalism every moment of my day. Be it with fellow student, a professor, a teacher s assistant or even the college employees. I always keep the door open if there someone behind me who needs to enter the room too. I always maintain eye contact with someone who is speaking to me. I refer ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Historical Area Of Israel And Palestine The history of the geographical area substituting Israel and Palestine is one of war and bloodshed. For nearly three millennia people have been fighting over the Holy Land in wars that were religious in their essence. An understanding of the historic background of the area is important to comprehend the present day reasons for the complexity of the task of conflict resolution. The simplified timeline provided below is an attempt to summarise the most important events. Since the Israelites conquest in approximately 1250BC, rule over the Holy Land went from hand to hand, including Israelite, Babylonian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine, and Muslim control. This early history is tightly linked to the Jewish people and their displacement which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The public would not know of this agreement until the end of 1917, only three weeks after the Balfour Declaration, a letter granting royal British support for the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine, was issued. Suspicion grew between Arabs, Jews, and the British. In 1920, two years after the end of WWI, the area which used to be the Ottoman empire was split into mandates, giving the British control over Palestine. During the 1930s the Nazis gained power in Germany, leading to big waves of Jewish immigration to Palestine, especially during times of Jewish persecution between 1933 and 1945. This period was marked by Palestinian uprisings against the British Mandate, and after the Second World War had commenced in 1939 also by Jewish resistance to the British. In 1947, two years after the Nazis had been defeated and WWII had ended, the British government handed the issue of the Palestinian future, which had seen Jewish mass migration during and after the war, to the United Nations, which voted the partition of Palestine into a Jewish and an Arab state. Despite Israeli attacks on Palestinian villages in early 1948, the British ended their mandate over Palestine on May 14th, now celebrated by Israelis as Independence Day, by Palestinians lamented as Nakba (catastrophe). On May 15, the first Israeli Arab war began, including several members of the Arab League. The following year over 700,000 Palestinians had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Sectional Tensions Of The Civil War Essay Throughout early American History, the issue of slavery was considered by many to be unsolvable. The North and the South were unwilling to compromise once tensions reached a high in the mid 1800 s leading to the Civil War. Already high tensions in the United States between the North and South, were pushed to a toppling point over the controversy about slavery. It was only a matter of time before the Nation would have to resolve this issue and attempt to unite the Country. This sectional tension can be seen during two presidential administrations that either precede, or occur during the Civil War; the administrations of President Franklin Pierce, and of Abraham Lincoln. Thus, the issue of slavery economically and politically polarized the Country... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While the North grew in manufacturing throughout the 1840 s and 1850 s, the southern economy remained stagnant. In fact, the slave states possessed only around 18% of the total national manufacturing capacity during this period. Over half of this manufacturing capacity was located in the border states, Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, and Missouri, whose populations had questionable loyalty to the South. These border states were only southern in some aspects, and thus, did not secede from the Union. Because of the lack of true southern manufacturing, it was hard to generate large profits, as all agricultural produce had to be shipped North in order to be manufactured. For example, most cotton from the South was sent to the North for spinning and manufacturing into clothing. From there, the garments created would be sent back to the South, at a marked up, higher price. The production difference between the South and the North made the South completely dependent on the North, economically. According to one southerner, Financially [the south is] more enslaved than [its] negroes .Thus, the South s utter reliance the North for even the most basic staples, including clothing, books, and tools, led to intense friction between the two regions of the ... • 9. Analysis Of When The Lone Ranger And Tonto Fistfight In... For decades discrimination has been continuously growing, being angled at minority groups. These negative outlooks have created many barriers and disadvantages, with society, for those belonging to different cultures. Each set of characters within the stories are created with different backgrounds, but live with similar expectations and struggles. These barriers occur in day to day activities and interactions, affecting individuals, and creating negativity. Paul K. Chappell once said, To truly listen to others, we must develop empathy. If we do not empathize with people, we cannot really hear what they are saying. When we do not listen with empathy, we hear only their words (Chappell). White reading each short story, Amy Tan s Two Kinds, and Sherman Alexie s When the Lone Rangerand TontoFistfight in Heaven, the reader is able to connect the stories characters through race, culture, and ethnicity to create that feeling of empathy Chappell was trying to introduce. In the stories, two kinds and The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, we see how the families each are treated poorly because they are of different races. In two kinds the family is a Chinese family. When moving to the United States Tan must change to look more like an American girl so they cut her hair. Tan explains her change by saying, I now had hair the length of a boys, with straight across bangs that hung at a slant two inches above my eyebrow (516). Tans original look made her stand out too much compared to an American child. By cutting off her hair she felt that she could finally become perfect (516). By explaining the drastic changes they felt were needed Tan is showing how far individuals are willing to go in order to be accepted. In The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven the characters is spoken poorly to by an officer. When found driving around late at night the main character is told you should be more careful where you drive, says the officer continuing with, your making people nervous. Surrealism is described to be an anti art and surfaced in between the World Wars. The art form in surrealism looks abstract as images come from the artists subconscious mind and later transferred to a blank piece of canvas. Besides being a renowned painter, Salvador Dali was also involved in film, fashion, sculpture, and photography. His legacy continued on as modern artists seek Dali s work for inspiration. Museums honoring Dali s name and art are everywhere, particularly one that is local in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Dali might have been a gifted and unique painter, but through analyzing his behavior, works, letters, and way of life, people see his exterior as a crazy man. Salvador Dali s life started on May 11, 1904 in Catalonia, Spain. Dali had one older brother that was born nine months before Dali, but eventually died.his parents named Salvador Dali after his dead brother, basically becoming a dead ringer of his brother. Dali s parents are complete opposites from one another. His father is completely strict, while his beloved mother nurtured and accepted his son despite his eccentric behaviors. By the time Dali was 16, his mother died of breast cancer and his father quickly remarried his mom s sister. • 11. Preserving Historic District Conservation Project A historic district or heritage district is a section of a city which contains older buildings considered valuable for historical or architectural reasons. This definition first appeared in Athens Charter, 1933. In China, any region that is classified as a historical district should contain a group of buildings that have cultural heritage significance with relatively integrated exterior and structures. All of these historic districts are cultural artifacts, and their stories are entwined with relevant human civilization. Thus, for cultural heritage conservation, 99 National Historic and Culturally Famous Towns have been promulgated by Chinese State Council in three groups since 1982. At the same time, different provinces and autonomous regions have also issued their own list of Historical and Culturally Famous communities. However, I considered that during the implementation of promoting historic districtconservation project, many people misunderstand the initial purpose and the process of restoration. Therefore, huge numbers of cultural heritages were transformed to fake antique , and the cultural heritage value of relevant places has been seriously diminished. Currently, historic districts are seriously affected by urban modernization and commercialization. During different parties are willing to take part in relevant conservation project, how to maintain a balance between development and cultural heritage conservation has become one of most popular issue in ... As a big forest, here is a question, should logging be allowed in Algonquin Park? The answer should be yes. There are a number of benefits of logging, such as timber resources, land resources, and job opportunities. However, it should be limited. In an ecosystem, balance is the most important thing. For instance, if without wolves which are sheep s natural enemy, sheep will keep growing until they eat all of grasses, and then grassland will be a desert, and sheep will become extinct because of no food. However, if there are only wolves and grasses, that will also be horrible. Grasses will keep growing, and wolves will die out, due to no food, and no space for living. It is also a problem, if there are no grasses. Wolves will become extinct after sheep die out. In other words, balance is important than everything in an ecosystem. The food chain is similar with logging in the Park. If government does not allow logging in the Park, those trees will keep growing, visitors will be difficult to visit or hike in the Park, and the accident rate will be increased. However, if government allows clear cutting in the Park, it will destroy Algonquin Park. In Wikipedia, the definition of Clear cutting is a forestry practice in which most or all trees in an area are uniformly cut down. Shelter wood refers to a progression of forest cuttings leading to the establishment of a new generation of seedlings of a particular species or group of species without planting. There is little evidence of what it was really like in the past so it is difficult for a lot of people to re construct the life of a child, however from what I have researched, and in my own opinion I am going to summarise the historical changes in childhood experience and relate these changes to childhood development and rights. In the 19th century I think children missed out on most of their childhood as most of them took on jobs such as chimney sweepers, street sellers and farms for example. These were mainly children from poor families who were seen as extra farm hands and were exploited by receiving low pay for long hours and working in poor conditions. Drug resistance has become an obstacle in maximizing the clinical benefit of ART and consequently, routine HIV genotyping is recommended prior to ART initiation during viral rebounds and on the failure of an ART regimen. Successful PCR amplification of PR and RT genes is essential regardless of which method is used for sequencing. Results from this study show that not only it is possible to detect but also to characterize virus that continues to be produced in low levels in such patients. The samples with LLV were amplified to determine whether LLV present in patients on effective ART regimen resulted from the development of drug resistance. Out of the 31 samples that were amplified using the optimized protocol, seven had no product by the time library preparation was set up. The likelihood of the loss of PCR products during clean up exists. There is a high possibility of mishandling the sample during shipping and receiving of the samples. Instead of screw cap tubes, the samples were shipped on a 96 well plate with a film on top, which is not ideal as per protocol. Additionally, the ice packs had melted by the time the lab received samples for sequencing. Since DNAdoes not evaporate easily, lack of proper shipping and storage techniques could have led to samples spilling or possible degradation. • 27. Summary Of Hills Like White Elephants By Ernest Hemingway Sabrina Good English 102 Ms. Vetro 29 September 2015 Importance of Setting in Hills like White Elephants Ernest Hemingway s short story Hills like white Elephants is a minimalistic story about a young American girl named Jig and her lover, an American man. Throughout the story, Hemmingway uses an abundant amount of dialogue so the reader can interpret that Jig and the man are contemplating some decision. Arguably, the setting is the most important aspect of Hills like White Elephants , and Ernest Hemingway uses setting subtly but effectively to emphasize the decision they are contemplating, which is abortion. Jig and the man are at a train station in Barcelona across the Ebro River, drinking beers, and discussing frantically and anxiously whether they should proceed with the abortion. Jig does not agree with having an abortion, although she does not directly say so. The American, on the other hand, thinks that the abortion will be the answer to their problems and tries to convince Jig of that. Hemingway highlights three elements of the story s setting: the train station, the overbearing heat, and the contrasting sides of the valley, to show the couple s conflict and the difficulties of resolving their decision. First, Hemingway uses a train station as the setting to show that the man and Jig have a problem, and they are having a hard time trying to solve this problem. Hemingway wants to emphasize that the man and Jig are at a crossroad, because they are indecisive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1706, Handel travelled to Rome but at the time, the church had banned opera in some states so he wrote sacred music for the church. It was in 1707 and 1709 that Handel wrote his fifth opera Rodrigo and sixth opera Agrippina respectively. In 1710 on his way to London, after becoming Kapellmeister to Prince George, Handel wrote his 7th opera, Rinaldo which premiered in 1711 on the 24th of February (Schoelcher, 1857). Handel wrote Rinaldo within a fortnight with the directional aid of Aaron Hill who was the director of the Haymarket Theatre at the time. They performed the opera 15 nights in a row which back then, was a rare occurrence (Lang, 2012). These moments may have lead Handel to write the opera Rinaldo in 1711. George Fredric Handel s librettist for the opera Rinaldo was Aaron Hill but Giacomo Rossi translated it into Italian (Rodina, 2008). Rossi, has been universally condemned as a miserable poetaster. However, the opera Rinaldo was Rossi s first libretto for Handel. Rossi does defend himself for the pace that he had to write the lyrics for the opera. The dramatic difference in the ending gives the film a strong message that transgressions can only be righted through an act of god. The fact that Rhoda is transgressive is still undeniably a part of the film. In fact, Rhoda could even be considered twice as transgressive: she is both a murderer and a child murderer, two separate taboos (Hendershot, p. 28). A number of studies provide support for the premise that physical activity, and sports in particular, can positively affect aspects of personal development among young people, such as self esteem, goal setting, and leadership (Aspen Play Project, 2015). Playing sports allow students to make new friends; they realize other people also have the same interests as them. Through teamwork, athletes experience leadership, another aspect of teamwork. Captains must socialize with everyone consistently and usually need to be well liked. Leadership can also affect how a team plays. It is hard to have a great team without superb leadership and teamwork, making it necessary to have both. Socialization also includes what people do in their free time. By the end, he has turned to a more humble character that has a better view on the truly important things in life.
