The document summarizes the UC Research eXchange (UC-ReX) program, which aims to improve collaborative research across University of California campuses by enhancing access to clinical data. Key points:
- UC-ReX was initiated in 2011-2012 with initial funding to advance UC collaborative research capabilities.
- Its goals for Year 1 were to enable cross-campus cohort identification by developing governance, selecting a technical infrastructure, harmonizing data, and enabling access/support.
- The Year 1 budget outlined costs for management, technology strategy, implementation, data alignment, and support workgroups totaling over $1 million.
- An executive committee with members from multiple UC campuses governs UC

South Florida HDI Virtual Event: IT Alignment and Value Network MetricsEddie Vidal
South Florida HDI is continuing to expand their presence outside of South Florida with their first ever webinar, sponsored by Cherwell. Our goal is to increase contributions and knowledge to the IT professional community in Latin America and Caribbean markets. In addition, this allows us to take advantage and reach other HDI members and non-members throughout the United States. The South Florida HDI chapter has been commended for their innovation and growth within the HDI community and this is another step in our growth.
Keynote Presentation by Dell's Bill Payne
Session Name: IT Alignment and Value Network Metrics: A Wake-Up Call.
Bill’s session will challenge IT executives to transform and elevate the way they measure, manage, and communicate the value of their IT services. By leveraging key concepts from the underleveraged ITIL service strategy area, IT alignment and value network metrics have the potential to clearly communicate business value in terms that are meaningful to the business.
This white paper helps project teams identify performance measures for Information Technology (IT ) support and maintenance projects, which collect and report data to help track and assess project progress, product quality, project success and customer satisfaction of a project. An effective set of performance measures provide actionable information on a focused set of metrics. This in turn provides a balanced view of project performance that can be used to improve the project management process. Performance measures also provide for accountability by laying out what is expected, when it is expected and what action will be taken if planned achievements do not occur.

Overall life span (LS) was 1671.7±1721.6 days and cumulative 5YS reached 62.4%, 10 years – 50.4%, 20 years – 44.6%. 94 LCP lived more than 5 years without cancer (LS=2958.6±1723.6 days), 22 – more than 10 years (LS=5571±1841.8 days). 67 LCP died because of LC (LS=471.9±344 days). AT significantly improved 5YS (68% vs. 53.7%) (P=0.028 by log-rank test). Cox modeling displayed that 5YS of LCP significantly depended on: N0-N12, T3-4, blood cell circuit, cell ratio factors (ratio between cancer cells-CC and blood cells subpopulations), LC cell dynamics, recalcification time, heparin tolerance, prothrombin index, protein, AT, procedure type (P=0.000-0.031). Neural networks, genetic algorithm selection and bootstrap simulation revealed relationships between 5YS and N0-12 (rank=1), thrombocytes/CC (rank=2), segmented neutrophils/CC (3), eosinophils/CC (4), erythrocytes/CC (5), healthy cells/CC (6), lymphocytes/CC (7), stick neutrophils/CC (8), leucocytes/CC (9), monocytes/CC (10). Correct prediction of 5YS was 100% by neural networks computing (error=0.000; area under ROC curve=1.0).

ABDOMINAL TRAUMA in pediatrics part one.drhasanrajab
Abdominal trauma in pediatrics refers to injuries or damage to the abdominal organs in children. It can occur due to various causes such as falls, motor vehicle accidents, sports-related injuries, and physical abuse. Children are more vulnerable to abdominal trauma due to their unique anatomical and physiological characteristics. Signs and symptoms include abdominal pain, tenderness, distension, vomiting, and signs of shock. Diagnosis involves physical examination, imaging studies, and laboratory tests. Management depends on the severity and may involve conservative treatment or surgical intervention. Prevention is crucial in reducing the incidence of abdominal trauma in children.
