This document discusses the role of facilities in supporting the advancement of education in Indonesia. It notes that the Indonesian government has established eight national education standards, including standards for infrastructure and facilities. 1. What facility can support the advancement of education?
Government set Eight Indonesian National Education Standards that guide teachers and develop the ability and form the character and civilization of the nation's dignity in order to achieve the life of the nation. Eighth standards scopes of national education includes the following:
1. Standard content;
2. Standards process;
3. Standard of competence of graduates;
4. Standards teachers; and
5. Standard infrastructure;
6. Standard management;
7. Standards financing; and
8. Standard educational assessment.
In answering the questions above, then the standard of facilities and infrastructure focuses on this discussion. Infrastructure standards are national standards relating to minimum criteria of learning spaces, places to exercise, places of worship, libraries, laboratories, workshops, a playground, a place to be creative and recreation as well as other learning resources, which is needed to support the learning process, including the use of information and communication technology.
Standard infrastructure means a standard that is quite important because the standard of the educational process can only be possible if there is adequate standard. The learning facilities are needed in formal learning activities, which generally takes place in school. When talking about the learning facility, it is necessary to know first about the definition or

understanding of learning facilities. Syaiful Bahri argues that, learning facility is learning completeness that must be owned by the school.1 Many factors affect learning, one among these factors is the learning facilities. Although learning facilities only a fraction of the factors that affect learning, but its existence can not be ignored. Therefore, in the absence of learning and learning activities will not be performing well in accordance with the purpose of teaching facilities is expected facilities and infrastructure required in the learning process in order to realize the goals set for the progress of education in general and specifically, includes school buildings, classrooms, library, teaching aids and laboratories.
2. What is the important role in supporting the advancement of
education? The rapid development of science and technology make a change in education. Starting from the change in school learning facilities that are required in accordance with the standards so that the goal of student’s learning in school can be achieved efficiently. Changes in students' learning methods, from conventional methods to students' active learning methods, changes in teaching methods must also be balanced with school facilities that support them. The success of key an education is the teacher. A teacher who has a professional obligation to know what facilities are required by a student in the learning process, ranging from inadequate infrastructure and facilities such as classrooms are fun, adequate desks and chairs, sufficient learning media and can support learning activities of students. The important role of teaching facilities (facilities and infrastructure) are very influential in supporting the advancement of education. Professional competence owned by a teacher basically have the same goal.

So the role of the facility in supporting the advance of education is how to make students feel comfortable and be able to motivate students to learn, so the learning process can proceed smoothly and successfully as expected, which is to improve student achievement. Effectiveness and smoothness of standard educational process can be influenced or dependent on educators and educational facilities and infrastructure.
3. How do you respond if there is a student complaining to the facility?
Facilities indeed is one of support for student activities. The emergence of various grievances/ complaints by students against learning facility is a natural thing when they consider the cost they pay to the campus is not comparable with what they get, especially in completing learning facilities. To answer these problems, it needs to wisdom in solving the problem at hand. That is to find the root of the problem. To answer the above questions, it would be different depending on the way the solution is responding. If it is a student, then what he must do is to immediately contact the responsible parties in the campus to provide suggestions and criticisms must be supported by the data held. Starting from what is becoming the most urgent need to the things that need to be fixed. By way of sitting together, then the attitude of the students must not to be fighting, the campus really needs to respond quickly in order not to be protracted.
However, for the college, are expected to respond immediately and to respond the problem, do not make a protracted so as to build a positive image for the campus. Parties should be aware that the campus facilities for students are their rights to fulfill thir needs as well as in obtaining services. Of course, in fulfilling the rights of students as learners particularly the fulfillment of learning facilities, must comply with the applicable standard of education.
