I have tried to explain the elementary fundamentals of drawing like shapes, forms, shading, perspective drawing etc.
This training material was prepared for my team consisting primarily of Graphic Designers with the objective that they'd start approaching their work like artists.
There are plenty of exercises at the end of each section as well... hope you enjoy it!
Types of drawing
This document introduces different types of drawing techniques, including blind contour drawing where the artist only looks at the subject and not the paper, modified contour drawing where the artist looks mostly at the subject and briefly at the paper, and cross-contour lines that show the three-dimensional form of a subject across its shapes. It also discusses gesture drawings that capture movement through quick sketches, and using value, or light and dark shades, to convey form in two-dimensional drawings. Famous artists like da Vinci, Rembrandt, Picasso, and Escher employed various techniques.

Pointillism
Pointillism is a technique of painting where small dots of pure color are applied in patterns to form an image. When viewed from a distance, the colors blend together in the eye of the observer. It was developed by Georges Seurat in the 1880s as part of the Post-Impressionist movement. Other masters of Pointillism include Paul Signac, Charles Angrand, and Henri-Edmond Cross. Seurat's most famous Pointillist work is A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte.

Pointillism Painting Project
Georges-Pierre Seurat was a French Neo-Impressionist painter in the late 19th century who developed the technique of pointillism. Pointillism involved applying small dots or points of pure color close together so that from a distance they visually blend in the eye of the observer. Seurat was inspired by scientific theories on color and contrast, and used this technique to carefully organize color on his canvases. He would labor for up to a year on preparatory studies before beginning a final painting using the pointillist method.
Pen And Ink
While pen and ink drawings cannot technically create tonal values, there are techniques that can create the illusion of value through hatching, crosshatching, and scumbling. Hatching uses parallel lines to fill an area and appear darker from a distance. Crosshatching layers lines at angles to each other. Scumbling uses small, varied scribbles to build texture and value. These techniques allow pen and ink drawings to suggest light and shadow through line work alone.

- 2. 2. Structural drawing It explains everything about structure such as strength of different part of structure, structural material, placement, grade and size of reinforcement etc. It also contains many other different named drawing sheets inside it.
- 3. 3. Plumbing and sanitary drawing This type of drawings show the location of sanitary and water supply piping and fixture and how to connect every fixture etc.
- 4. 4. Electrical drawing This kind of drawings describe the location and details of electrical wiring, fixtures and sub-station etc. It also shows the electrical load calculation.
- 5. 5. As-built drawing Architectural drawings that reflect changes made during the construction process, recording differences between the original design and the completed structure. As-built drawings are based on design drawings used during construction, where measured drawings are usually made long after construction is completed and no design drawings exist.
