1) The study characterized and compared cases of type 2 diabetes (T2DM) and type 1 diabetes (T1DM) in males aged 18-40. 2) Patients with T1DM were significantly younger (30.2 years) than those with T2DM (36.3 years). 3) Metabolic syndrome was present in 67.8% of T2DM patients compared to 10.5% of T1DM patients. Cardiovascular risk factors were common in both diabetes types in this age group.
