The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

Tv advert proposal
1. Tv Advert Proposal
Now that I got your attention, please allow
me to show you, my presentation.
(Let’s get started!)
2. What is the idea about?
• My idea is about a Tv advertisement that shows what people go through in
their day-to-day life such as; Social life, Self image, Families, PTSD and
pretty much anything that is relevant.
• The advertisement will have actors who will portray how people
with/without mental health problems feel in their day to day lives and each
of them will have their own mental health conditions.
• The advertisement is aimed for almost anyone in any age group as even
people who is young as 6 can go through stages of mental health problems.
3. Who would the advertisement be aimed for?
• The advertisement is aimed for almost anyone in any age group as even people who is young
as 6 can go through stages of mental health problems, but since I only gained results from 12
people who are aged 16 and above I have made my decision final and I have chosen to make
this Advert based on younger people’s mental health.
• In a survey I have asked a group of people about their mental wellbeing, so the results in this
pie chart shows that a high majority of them have both chosen the ‘very unwell’ and the
‘Doing good’ option. A lot of the answers shown are quite mixed which shows how
unpredictable mental health really is.
• Through this survey I made, I have also managed to identify my target audience and it’s age
group by simply asking them for their age.
4. What is the purpose of this advertisement?
• The whole purpose is to spread awareness to all viewers, the more that people know
the more we can find ways to help.
• We need to let people, know that it is okay to tell people how they are feeling,
sometimes it can make a difference if you tell someone whether it is your close
friends, your loved ones or even a therapist.
• In the end the advertisement is going to be made for encouraging viewers to come
up with and find solutions to help one another, that includes; living a healthier
lifestyle, performing an act of kindness, being understanding to one another and
such etc. We could help each other by building a stronger community together.
5. What is the following Selling points?
• The selling points are; to encourage people to smile to one another (or
even when no ones looking) and to do so more often as smiling in general
improves your overall mental health. Even a small difference would be a
huge help.
• The other selling point is to help encourage people by finding their
happiness and improve them by doing physical activities or by finding or
getting into more hobbies and interests.
• In my advert unlike many others, will show and remind my audience that
we all need to do the simplest things such as smiling or an act of kindness
as many people often forget doing these simple things can help restore
someone else’s faith in life.
6. What is the plot and how will I set it up?
• The advertisement will depend on the budget (possibly low) and the actors
I would be given, I am looking for 3 actors ones that can perform fairly well
(so the ad can look convincing).
• My Plan for the ad will involve 2 people, both will display their behavior
differently, the first person will always look happy, and the second person
would always look/feel depressed. The plot is that they both get on with
their lives such as traveling, getting up in the morning etc. In the end
something tragic will happen in the end as one of them will die of suicide.
A third actor is present he/she will pose as someone who will be a kind
stranger smiling and showing an act of kindness by talking to one of them
(after the incident).
• The smile campaign is always about smiling, but in this advert the message
is that being kind to someone can be helpful and can improve their day to
day lives and can really make a difference.
7. Feedback please.
• Please answer the following questions and give some
honest answers about my proposal.
1. What did you like about the survey?
2. What are the things you don’t like about my survey or
feel that I should improve on?
3. If you were to change anything in my survey, what
would it be?
4. Overall, what are your opinions?
(These are a set of questions I have used to get feedback
from my audience)
8. Answers (from audience feedback)
Two Students, Elliot and Richard have reviewed my work and I have wrote some notes
based on what they both said.
• I should try not to make the advertisement look visually too dark and I must try to
be careful on how I will present someone’s suicide, I must not make it too graphic
and visual, it is a good idea, but it is also a sensitive topic.
• The colours of this presentation is visually good and there is plenty of detail in text,
there is a lack of images, and I would need to add more. The colours of the
background during the presentation is too dark as it will affect the contrast of the
text.
• I need to be more specific when I want to show my target audience, for instance I
should label ‘Young adult’ for my target audience instead of just a ‘young audience’,
otherwise the idea may not be 100% appropriate for a group of audiences under
the age of 16 especially when we talk about some topics that are sensitive for young
people.
9. Self Review of my Presentation
• What I’ve done well: Personally what I like about it is the way it has
been designed, the text is colourful and it is very useful to attract the
reader’s attention. There is plenty of useful information and there is
some forms of persuasive dialogue.
• What I can do to improve the presentation? I think I need to add
more images to make it more visually appealing to audiences.
(This is my personal opinion about my presentation)
