By understanding these aspects, students can gain a comprehensive view of synthetic fiber production, its impact on society and the environment, and the potential for future innovations. Synthetic fibers play a crucial role in modern society, impacting various aspects of daily life, industry, and the environment. ynthetic fibers are integral to modern life, offering a range of benefits from cost-effectiveness and versatility to innovative applications and performance characteristics. While they pose environmental challenges, ongoing research and development aim to create more sustainable and eco-friendly alternatives. Understanding the importance of synthetic fibers helps in appreciating their role in the economy, industry, and daily life, while also emphasizing the need for sustainable practices and innovation.
Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
1. CANON BRIEF
Who is canon ?
Canon is a Japanese
company which specializes
in optical, imaging, and
industrial products. IT was
founded in 10 August
1937 and took off really
well.
What is the campaign
called ?
The campaign is called
journey and focuses
on journeys through
life and how they are
captured through a
camera lense.
2. Client
1.Who is the client?
2.What is the name of the campaign?
3.What is the purpose of the company?
4.What do they want from you?
5.What issues do you have to consider with regards to your client?
Target Audience
1.Who is the target audience? Include demographics and social grade, possibly psychographics
2.How do you know who the target audience is? Use the brief and your research to support your opinion.
3.Are there any issues you have to consider for your target audience? Such as what does your demographic face, what
journeys do they take metaphorically and in their day-to-day life?
Research
1. Create a mind map about Journeys (both metaphorical and physical). Create a Pinterest Board or visual mind map to
inspire your work on Journeys.
2. Can you find any written articles about ‘Journeys’ for your demographic? It could be a celebrity, person of interest or news
article. How could this be documented in a series of images of short film.
3. What have you learned from this research? How does it help you with your ideas for your production?
3. PURPOSE OF THE COMPANY.
One of the world's largest manufacturers of cameras,
copiers, and printers, the company maintains its
leadership position by continuously innovating new
features and technologies. Canons purpose is to deliver
photography to the world through there technology.
4.
5. Target audience
In addition to this, whilst their current core audience
are typically older (35+ years old), Canon have identified a
new audience, Adventurous achievers (16-34 years old,
younger & adventurous) as a key audience to grow their
business.
Canon also aim towards any
photographers who aim to
capture the beauty of the
world.
6. Issues with client
Canon is a good company but
only has a specific range of
products which limits our
audience.
Many people have reviewed
canon cameras and said
that there are a lot of
problems with the products
and that they are unreliable.
7. WHAT DO THEY WANT FROM ME.
• They want us to create a campaign based of the idea of journeys and the different types
of journeys in life. They want us to show that there are a lot of things which could relate
to journeys.
8. EXISTING PRODUCTS
• This image shows the beauty in photography
and shows the size of the Lense or the product
its advertising. The darker colors show that it is
aimed at an older audience as it is quite
serious and dark. However if it was bright it will
show that it is aimed at a younger generation.
The image shows the product below and gives
some information on it.
9. • Unlike the last image this one is a lot brighter
and shows the audience it is trying to target.
The color is really bright and shows more of a
younger generation. The product its self is
displayed really well and shows more of a less
serious camera unlike the other when it was
serious and had a darker color to it. The
product has been shown in a car this shows it
is easy portable and targets a younger
generation.
10. • This advertisement gets straight to the point and shows
off the product because the main focuses is the camera
itself. The product is there and shows the camera straight
away as there is nothing else grabbing your attention.
11. • This advertisement is very creative and
shows a photo in a photo. The
reflection of the product in the tiger's
eyes is very creative and show how
unique it is and it makes it stand out
well.
12. RATIONALE
• Who is the target audience for the product?
• My target audience will be ranged between
16-to-25-year Olds as it is a
suitable audience to target.
13. WHY IS A PRINT ADVERT A GOOD
IDEA?
• I think a print advertisement is a good idea
as it can show the true beauty of love by
using photography. A lot of memories with
your loved one is created by photos and
not videos which a print advertisement can
express this better than a normal
advertisement.
14. • What research can back up your target audience?
• A lot of people such as teenagers start to get there
first love round about 16 and start of their journey of
love. There is a lot of evidence to show this as a lot of
teenagers watch such things like Love Island and The
cabins which is based around finding love.
15. MY FINAL PRODUCT
• This is my final draft of the canon poster I must create. I think it has gone well. There
is some improvements I could do though.
16. WHAT COULD I IMPROVE ?
• I could change the slogan to something better.
• I could make the image brighter.
• Also, I might move the slogan, so it is the focus.
17. WHAT WENT WELL ?
• The images blended well and both images fitted well.
• The slogan was original and good.
• The light of the background and the silhouettes is a good contrast between light
and dark and gives off a good lighting effect as if the silhouettes are acting as
shadows as the people could be facing away from the sun.
19. EDITING
• I started by playing with loads of
different ideas and fixed my focus
on one idea which sounded and
looked good. It was blending two
images together to make it look
like one so having silhouettes of
hands holding on an image of a
landscape.
20. PHOTOSHOP
• Once I blended the two images together, I then added the canon logo as a JPEG
which worked as the client is now shown and displayed on my poster. I used an app
known as photoshop which is quite useful when it comes too creating posters.
