This document contains the outline and materials for an English lesson taught by Tuz T.S. at a secondary school. The lesson aims to get students to examine their own personalities by discussing traits and characteristics. Students will work in groups, roleplay interviews, listen to passages, and participate in activities where they describe themselves and each other. The lesson encourages communication in English and developing an understanding of how personalities are shaped by both internal qualities and external influences.

Grade 8 - St. Thomas Aquinas
Sta. Cecilia Parochial School
This workshop explores the need to use English, with above beginners, as a global language to examine global issues through the practice of critical, comparative, and creative thinking skills related to social values. The framework is based on Robert Fisher’s language learning model of the interrelatedness of reading, writing, listening, speaking, input, output and metacognition. In this awareness raising session the basic tenet underpinning the action is We are all the Same, We are all Different with the emphasis on teaching for diversity. Questioning ourselves comes before questioning the students, and changing our perceptions is a necessary first step. There will be some theory and plenty of activity.
As a reader I wanted you to relate yourself to the situations you had faced and try to apply the methods/ techniques which are being shared. Don’t think of this book as another “Super Hero Movie”, give the due credit to it by believing and taking bay steps which would draw you closure to your intended path.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
