What do students say?
https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=report_myfeedback
• Students find it useful.
• Still difficult to find feedback.
• “The class mean could at times be encouraging but also
demotivating”.
• Probably wouldn’t use self-reflecting notes.
Students asked for new features.
https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=report_myfeedback
• Previous years’ feedback.
• Performance against class average.
• Assessment weightings.
• Formative / summative assessment filter.
• Notification when feedback is given.
Students asked for changes to practice.
https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=report_myfeedback
• More feedback.
• Grades and feedback from final exams & formal grades.
• Digitised hardcopy assessments (e.g. lab reports,
architectural drawings).
Thoughts on the students’ comments
https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=report_myfeedback
• The report highlights an absence of electronic feedback.
• In some cases students don’t know where to view their
feedback (quizzes, Turnitin).
• We would like to enable reminders for feedback using the
Moodle event monitoring system - this is turned off due to
potential performance issues.
• Current and past years’ feedback.
• Personal Tutor and Module Tutor views.
• Programme administrators view (all students in department).
Under review…
• Filter for summative and formative assessments.
• Performance score (relative to class mean).
• Assessment Calendar to enable assessment dates to be spaced out.

Takeaways
https://moodle.org/plugins/view.php?plugin=report_myfeedback
• Communication to staff and students is difficult.
• Turnitin feedback cannot be displayed directly in the
report (only linked).
• Personal Tutors cannot access the assessment feedback,
unless they are enrolled on the course.
• Permissions need to be set at site level, so applying them
to the student or teacher roles (course level) won’t work.
