1. Administrative Officer - IT, Monash University, 2008 – 2014
Monash University is one of the leading universities of Australia which is rich in
education and research. Monash University has five Australian campuses and two
international campuses. As an administrative officer, I am responsible for
timetabling, course and unit offering, assessments module in Callista,
administration and support of course enquiry portal, creation of sites and staff
support for Moodle. I am entrusted often withtraining staff and students with the
different systemsused as part of the university.I am also the testing analyst within
the faculty who performs UAT with different systems before rolling out of new
versions or new software packages.Given the role, it’s vital to manage stakeholder
relations with higher management and department contacts.
Responsibilities:
Moodle administrator creating and editing content catering to each faculty, campus
and teaching mode.
First point of contact for both student and staff enquiries which includes answering
phone calls, answering emails, etc.
Create and deliver student induction twice each year for semester one and semester
two with approximately 1000 students each semester and 365 days training
availability for staff for both group and individual 1:1 training.
Creation of staff and student accounts, login and password retrieval, course enrolling,
etc.
Customize Moodle templatesto suit all devices and perform testing to suit all operating
systems.
Research and implement new add on to Moodle that will enhance the user experience.
Monitoring of student engagement and running reports to show activity of the site.
Administrationdutiesincluding diary management, minute taking, event management
within the faculty.
Project management representing the faculty during the roll out of Lotus Notes,
Windows 7 and Google apps including email.
Efficient and fast worker who thrives on challenges and meeting deadlines
Preparation of reports using different systems available within Monash University
Provide online and offline helpdesk service for all systems and processes managed by
Operational Systems (OPS).
User acceptance testing for Windows 7 platform, Google Applications (Apps), Moodle
(platform for interactive study space with Virtual Learning Environment), In2Monash
to Course Enquiry Portal (CEP) migration and testing (the course and credit advisor
while adhering to the standards of the Faculty of Business and Economics (BUSECO)
and the University).
Creation and maintenance of OPS website using HTML coding and Dreamweaver.
Constant monitoring of the site for usability and data accuracy to provide enhanced
user experience.
Attend different committees/meetings and note the minutes. Information acquired is
thereafter made available for Faculty staff access through OPS website.
Timetabling adhoc and teaching activities for the faculty while also adhering to the
requests from different departments and campuses within the faculty.
Action the annual rollover of timetable data in Syllabus+ and Allocate+ from scratch.
Produce data integrity reports from Business Intelligence (BI) system, Callista,
Allocate+, CEP.
2. Group, online and One-on-one training for both academicand professional staffin new
systems such as Moodle, Callista, Syllabus+, Allocate+ and CEP.
Presentations to new and existing staff regarding the systems and processes.
Maintaining accurate admissions and advanced standing data, including approval of
advanced standing data entered by Student services staff and enter data approved by
the Assessment and Credit Transfer Committee (ACT) using CEP.

Trained new post graduate students and sessional staff
Successfully worked within deadlines and time frames as determined by faculty and
the university
Trained student services staff in CEP
Trained and mentored new staff within the operational systems team
Help coordinate the relocation of the Operational Systems office
Dean’s award for excellence for all the hard work for the past 5 years and for Moodle
migration within the faculty.
