2. Classification / genre
My genre is based around London, I am focusing on journalism as I am going to be showcasing a
magazine about London and its life style I am mostly focusing on the fashion, that has been
spiralling around the city for many years and how every area has its own designated style. i.e
Shoreditch or brick lane has a very skater boy type of style as I would describe it, that is east
London but there ae other parts of east London that would dress very urban e.g tracksuits are
seen as an outfit in most urban parts of London.
I also wanted my location to stand out such as I wanted my audience to feel as if my magazine
was an experience and they would view just London out of my magazine I picked locations such
as seeing sites in London e.g London bridge and St Pauls cathedral I want to do my photoshoot
in front of these 2 sites I also wanted to include parts of London that are joined together by
communities these are estate homes or little town beneath London. Most estates I wanted to visit
have been regenerated or torn down but one particular I want to focus on is the Alexandra road
estate I really like the architecture if the homes in that estate and do imagine a excellent
photoshoot there.
3. Summary of magazine – locations and
what makes your idea different
As I stated in the previous slide I would like to focus on 6 main locations 3 being high
end the other 3 being in other parts of London. I would like to focus on the London
bridge, St Pauls cathedral, Westminister abby, Trellick towers, Alexandra road esate
and the Barbican estate, these are my locations I will be doing my photoshoots at.
I feel like fact that I am combining both fashion and locations so I am able to showcase
2 interests at once is what makes my magazine different, also the fact that not only I
am focusing on good and the most known parts of London but parts of London were
the communities matter I feel like that is what really makes London people sticking
together and really helping each other as a community to protect it.
4. Audience
My primary audience would ideally be people who agree on what I agree on in this
magazine that being bringing out all parts of London not just the well and good
looking parts of London acknowledging that there a wide range of people with
different culture genres in London that being north, south, east and west London. I
would like to target ages from 16 to 25 as I feel like these ages are still growing and I
am able to connect with this audience and understand or even get hints of what
fashion they would like to see also the type of photography. I would also like to target
people who are on trend and like keeping up with fashion, as this magazine does have
a big variety of fashions that will be displayed. I am trying to address both genders as
there a uni-sex fashion coming back into the trends and styles.
5. Actors / production team required
I will not need actors but models which will be most of my friends I want to use my
friends because each one of us have a different and unique style of fashion and
that is what I need to portray in this magazine.
6. Any ethical issues
I don’t think there are any ethical issues in this magazine as I am only forward the
positive of London and even so the writing segment of my magazine will explain
further about my photography and what I am/ was trying to bring forward and
portray.
