Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

41. YES Should this book be recommended to others? Blogging has really started to take over social media, especially for businesses. This book would offer some great information to people that are wanting to get into the blogging world.
egoblogger- A blogger whose writing tends to have a self-aggrandizing or narcissistic tone. Egobloggers spend as much time promoting themselves and trying to get famous as they do writing their blogs; One of the most famous egobloggers is Robert Scoble, of the technical blog Scobleizer. Nearly every biographical article about Mr. Scoble refers to him as an egoblogger;(Naked Conversations: How blogs are changing the was businesses talk with customers) along with Shel Israel (see next slide);Scoble dropped out of San Jose State Univeristy in 1993, where he was going for a journalism degree(He only has one more class to take);Rackspace delivers enterprise-level hosting services to businesses of all sizes and kinds around the world;Scoble Websites: blog: http://scobleizer.com/about/, twitter: http://twitter.com/scobleizer,facebook: http://www.facebook.com/RobertScoble
Author of Twitterville a book with a collection of anecdotes and stories about businesses using the social media site Twitter. This chapter for me was the most helpful. It really puts into prospective how much work, time, effort, etc goes into a blog. I am still getting used to the blogging world and the tips really gave me some good ideas on how to keep my blog flowing smoothly and make it understandable and easy to navigate for my readers. I can’t really say that it is something that I haven’t really heard before, but I got really good concrete examples from the book. Of all the information that I read in the book, this information is something that I will carry with me and hopefully remember FOREVER! the next few slides will be on the 11 tips.
Have the name related to the topic of the blog. Make it easy to search for.
Reading a wide selection of blogs help you understand what is out there. RSS (real simple syndication) news aggregator is recommended: this is a program that collects and displays feeds from multiple RSS-enabled blogs in one convenient window; this also helps you to cover more ground, rather than going to site after site with a web browser. Reading blogs can help you to write your own blog, give you ideas, set your topics apart from what is already out there on the slide are RSS search engines.
Make it easy for others to find your information and understand it. Keep each post on one topic. links are a great way to keep posts simple and from jumping around and having too much information than the reader is willing to read.
You want your readers to know that you are passionate about your blog. If your readers don’t feel as though your care about your blog, why should they? One way to show passion is to post often. However, don’t force passion;Take a break if absolutely needed. Amount of competition can affect this.
Show that you know what you are blogging about. Make the reader trust your words. Blog with authority gains a lot of exposure.
A good blog is a conversation, no a one-way PR channel. Comments and feedback help you to revise and learn. Don’t put up with excessive rudeness.“living room rule”: if you are a guest in my home (blog) and you are being rude to my guests, I will ask you to be more polite. If you do not comply I will make you leave, and you will not be allowed to come back in.
Providing multiple methods can be beneficial:Email address;Phone number. You never know what opportunity may arise. You could miss out on a great opportunity if you are unable to be contacted.
You want to tell a compelling story that keeps a reader coming back. The elements can help achieve a good story, but don’t overuse them.
Be the best resource you can be for your readers. Providing links to other sites can help you gain customer trust and loyalty.
Only blogging can de-humanize you. Get out, go to events, meet-ups, speak in public. Podcasts, video blogs, or photos can also help. These types of things can be more intimate and memorable than just a text on a screen.
Referrer log is the technology that keeps track of who’s linking to your site and how much traffic those sites are sending you.
I have to say that I was a little surprised when the book actually talked about the negatives of blogging. I figured this book was more about promoting blogging into the business world and encouraging people to join. However Chapter 9: Thorns in the Roses informs you of the not-so-positive side of blogging. The authors inform us that there are some people that should just not blog at all. They also say that deciding if the benefits of blogging outweigh the potential drawbacks.
For the most part I understand what a referrer log is, but what I want to know is how it works! How does it remember who linked, when they linked you, how many times they have linked you? And it doesn’t just provide the information for that one day. You can look back to past links. It amazes me how things on the internet seem to almost never go away.
I think that this would be a great book for people to read in Intro to PR. For me personally I think it would have made me realize the benefits of blogging early on, rather than feeling as if it was just another homework assignment in the beginning. Since I have started to blog I have really seen how it can help build relationships with people you would have never been able to connect with.
