Uddannelse af fagligt dygtige og entreprenante ingeniører bidrager i sig selv til innovation: Ansættelsen af en ingeniør eller anden højtuddannet i SMV’er medfører en stigning i antallet af ansatte, en stigning i lønnen og flere nyudviklede produkter ( Rambøll Management / IDA) Corporate Innovation - Produktiviteten er i gennemsnit steget med 10 % om året i seks år i de virksomheder, der har samarbejdet med DTU (Damvad). Målt pr. medarbejder svarer produktivitetsforøgelsen til 70.000 kr. og pr. virksomhed til 30 mio. kr. (Damvad)
  2. DTU er førende på stort set alle teknologioverførsels parametre i forhold til de andre danske universiteter. Internationalt klarer DTU sig også fornemt set i forhold til gennemsnittet af universiteter i fx Europa og USA. Udbygge DTU’s internationale position i retning af internationale top performers ift. start ups CWTS: Top-10 listen domineres af de nordiske universiteter. 5 ud af ti er fra de nordiske lande. Derudover er der to hollandske. De sidste tre er henholdsvis to japanske og et amerikansk. Det sidste er i øvrigt interessant nok DTU’s partneruniversitetet, Rensselaer.  Alle ti universiteter ligger i gruppen 1-10. Der er derfor ikke tale om en rankingliste i traditionel forstand.
