This document provides an overview of clean energy innovation in New York State. It discusses CNSE's Energy and Environmental Technology Applications Center (E2TAC) and clean energy incubator (iCLEAN) which work to develop and commercialize clean energy technologies. It also describes New York's comprehensive clean energy innovation ecosystem, which includes university research, business incubation, public-private partnerships, and established manufacturing facilities. The goal is to support clean energy startups and help transition technologies from the lab to commercial scale manufacturing. Metrics like private investment, jobs created, and new products introduced are used to measure the success of this innovation ecosystem.

PMG Oct 2011 Patents and intellectual property 101 for product managers finalDerek Pettingale
Recent sales of patent portfolios for billions of dollars are leading executives to revisit potential dormant value. With visible portfolio valuations such as Nortel and Motorola IP making headline news, the value of Intellectual Property has never been higher than in today's economy. As a result, Product Managers are now being challenged with understanding basic patent protection, strategy and valuation.

Knowledge on Tap - is now a reality. While private, appropriated knowledge continues to be coveted , it is the stock of publicly accessible knowledge that changed the statuesque.Technological Complexity of innovation challenges on X Prize, Bill Gates Foundation stand testimony to the sophistication of widely scattered knowledge. Oversupply of research also places knowledge exploiters in position of strength.

All changed, changed utterly - from the days of the wireless to today’s digital home and beyond
It is only a relatively short time since the radio or wireless was a piece of furniture in European home and the mainstay of home entertainment. Radios get smaller, televisions entered homes and home entertainment became a reality. The advent of the digital age, fixed and wireless connectivity to the Internet has transformed the consumer experience ... This talk will chart the course of the home technology evolution over the past 50 years Explore where it might go in the future.

Long-Term Fundamentals Intact Though Headwinds Persist
The “Smart Grid” is often described as the “Internet for Electricity” in which will
modernize our aging electricity distribution grids with the goals of reducing excess
energy and incorporating renewable energy sources. Numerous factors are forcing
the outdated energy distribution grids around the world to become ‘smarter’, from
rising energy costs to environmental concerns. That said, three challenges remain:
1) absence of bold incentives as utilities struggle with their return on investment
case, 2) unclear regulatory guidelines, and 3) a lack of standards and international
harmonization.
Building Ratings: Do the Europeans or Americans Have It Right?Elton Sherwin
This is a presentation for the 2011 EUEC meeting in Phoenix. It contrasts the New York City's PlaNYC, building energy disclosure rules with the Energy Performance Certificates used in London, the UK and most of the European Union.
