Response to Intervention
 Are classroom teachers truly
providing adequate instruction in all
Tiers of instruction?
Students who are Individualized Learning Plans need to make
accelerated progress, meaning more than a year’s growth to catch up to
their peers.
 Why aren’t students making more
progress?
Classroom teachers can provide reading intervention outside of the
literacy block.
 How can classroom teachers provide
remediation for reading in social
studies and science?
If students are not making adequate progress, adjustment to instruction
needs to be made!!!
 Accountability in terms of progress
monitoring and adjusting instruction
to meet the needs of all students.
 I would like to focus on providing
intervention and remediation for reading
within the content areas to truly Respond to
Intervention.

Topic proposal

  • 2. Response to Intervention  Are classroom teachers truly providing adequate instruction in all Tiers of instruction?
  • 3. Students who are Individualized Learning Plans need to make accelerated progress, meaning more than a year’s growth to catch up to their peers.  Why aren’t students making more progress?
  • 4. Classroom teachers can provide reading intervention outside of the literacy block.  How can classroom teachers provide remediation for reading in social studies and science?
  • 5. If students are not making adequate progress, adjustment to instruction needs to be made!!!  Accountability in terms of progress monitoring and adjusting instruction to meet the needs of all students.
