Why I Want To Be A Society Of Trout Persuasive Essay
I would like to participate in the Society of Fellows because I am a lover of philosophy and it seems as
if the Society of Fellows mix topics that intrigue me into one program, which is a great fit for me. The
Society of Fellows examines the American Constitution, the same way my Constitutional Rights class
discusses it, it asks more of people than to just know what the American Constitution says, but also
asks what it means, and how that meaning of particular words has changed over time. This is the
reason I am ecstatic about the program, being able to be a part of a program that looks at the
Constitution in ways many do not try to. Also, to be able to belong to a program that does this a
wonderful experience to have. Society of Fellows dissects the Constitution, and this is something I
have always wanted to do with a group of individuals who has the same excitement level as I do while
doing it. These are the reasons I would like to participate in the Society of Fellows.
I expect to contribute my knowledge in discussions and my different view points on certain topics and
issues to the fellowship class of 2016 2017. Society of Fellows seems to put and emphasis on in depth
exploration and philosophy. Being a philosophy minor and taking a few classes to do with philosophy

Constitution and the historical development of the Constitution, or whatever theme is given to the
Journal on Constitutional Democracy. The theme of this year s journal is, American rhetoric: then now
. I would be able to contribute my thoughts of these topics. Since I am such a lover of philosophy, I
can compare philosophers who speak on our government then and now (or on government in general).
I would be able to explain why something happens from my perspective of

Violation Of Grant Assurance 22 Essay
In the past, the FAA has found a constructive grant of a prohibited exclusive right whenever a Sponsor
violated Grant Assurance 22, without regard to the number of entities conducting the same
aeronautical activities or providing the same services. Under current policy, the FAA will consider the
presence of other entities at the airport engaged in the same activities before finding that a violation of
Grant Assurance 22 is also a constructive violation of Grant Assurance 23.
The Grant Assurance includes an exception that permits a single FBO if both of the conditions below
are met:
It would be unreasonably costly, burdensome, or impractical for more than one fixed based operator to
provide such services; and
If allowing more than one FBO would require the reduction of space currently leased by the single
FBO.
In other words, even if it would be impractical for two FBOs to operate at the airport, if the Sponsor
has vacant space that could accommodate a second FBO, it cannot rely on this exception to deny
access to the second FBO.
In addition, the FAA interprets Grant Assurance 23 to permit a Sponsor to offer commercial
aeronautical services with its own employees and equipment on an exclusive basis. This right is
referred to as the proprietary exclusive right. The use of the Sponsor s own employees and equipment
is critical to this exception. The Sponsor cannot rely on an agency relationship or contract the services
to a third party and claim the proprietary exclusive

Hospital For A Scheduled Ventriculoperitoneal Shunt Removal
A 62 year old white male presented to the hospital for a scheduled ventriculoperitoneal shunt removal.
The patient had developed cysts in the brain seventeen years ago in 1998 leading to increased
intracranial pressures from accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid. After discovering the brain cysts, the
patient underwent a ventriculoperitoneal shunt placement. Two years after the shunt was placed, the
patient underwent another procedure for shunt revisions due to complications with infection. Now, the
patient is presenting for removal of the shunt. In the pre op holding area, the patient s vital signs were
taken. The patient s blood pressure was 153/75, heart rate 80, respirations 18, oxygen saturation 93%

Examples Of Structuralism In I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud
I am putting to use a structuralist view upon the poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud because it can be
related to with simpleness, put down to the fact that it is positioned in the lyrical genre. Structuralism
is a theory in which all elements of human culture are thought to be part of a system of signs. Robert
Scholes demarcated structuralism as a reaction towards despair and modernism (Scholes, Robert.
Structuralism in Literature: An Introduction, 1975). I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud is a poem that
commemorates the utmost beauty of nature to such a degree that the poet believes it to be ... Show

As previously stated, structuralism is a theory in which all elements of human culture are thought to
be part of a system of signs. Structuralists are concerned with issues such as form and genre. The
reason why I chose to apply a structuralist perspective upon William Wordsworth s poem is due to the
fact that that it can be easily interacted with because it is positioned in the lyrical genre. The rhyming
scheme is in the form ABABCC. The rhyming couplet evident at the end of each stanza creates an
unpretentious break caused by the addition of a new stanza. As a result, the final line of teach stanza
contains an additional sense of emphasis. The final line of the poem mentions the show and conveys
images of dancing daffodils, a long lasting impression discussed by Wordsworth. The meter of this
poem is an iambic tetrameter. The meter creates a rhythm with a musical, song like quality, to which
the daffodils may dance. Wordsworth also employs consonance and alliteration to create the sense of
rhythm. The form of a poem is of utmost importance to structuralist critics. I Wandered Lonely as a
Cloud is twenty four lines long and it features four stanzas with six lines each. In each individual
stanza there is a perceptible pattern the first line rhymes with the third line and the second line rhymes
with the fourth line. The stanzas finish with the inclusion of a rhyming couplet. By concentrating the
first three stanzas on the lake experience and the final on the memory of that experience, Wordsworth
amalgamates the content of the poem. It is interesting to note that despite the obvious fact that I
Wandered Lonely as a Cloud is built as a sonnet although it is a lyrical poem. Wordsworth employs
figurative language such as comparisons, personification, epithets and metaphors so as to express his
feelings to the reader. As a sub genre, I Wandered Lonely as

A Skateboarder s Legacy
So I was chilling with my friends in the park, skateboarding they talked about the Broadway Bomb
and some other stuff. I asked them what the Broadway Bomb was, they told me that it was a 7.9 mile
race along Broadway in Manhattan. Although I ve met Skateboarding Celebrities like Tony Hawk and
Eric Koston, I ve never had a chance to go skateboarding with them. But most of the Celebrity
Skateboarders don t even practice their Skateboarding Skills. After seeing Tony Hawk s victory in

Unlawful Act Manslaughter And Gross Negligence Manslaughter
Unlawful Act Manslaughter (UAM) and Gross Negligence Manslaughter (GNM) are two types of
Involuntary Manslaughter. Manslaughter occurs in many cases in relation to death where a defendant
may be liable for manslaughter as a lesser sentence as an alternative to murder. There are elements to
each type of manslaughter where they can be assessed in accordance to each case. This project will
explore, whether the law is satisfactory in regards to a drug user who has either merely supplied drugs
to a user or assisted in administering the drugs. The project will also take into consideration whether
the law draws distinctions in relation to the level of assistance given and whether a duty exists
between such parties of a drug user.
The aim of this project will be to review the law on manslaughter as it relates to drug dealers by
analysing unlawful act manslaughter and gross negligence manslaughter. By first identifying cases
relating to drug users and identifying the outcome of such cases and examining whether the outcomes
are satisfactory by relying on relevant articles or journals which shall be explored. The court of appeal
has tried to find drug dealers guilty under section 23 of the OAPAAct, further into the project it will
be explored why the court of appeal have been unable to find drug dealers guilty under s.23,
weaknesses of the court of appeal cases and what people have suggested might occur if drug dealers
were able to be liable under s.23 will also be analysed. While

Importance Of Animals In Captivity
Almost every human being has been to a zoo or an aquarium. Everyone has seen how the animals are
in small cages and people enjoy watching them not even caring to take into consideration how the
animal may feel. But then who cares right? It is fun to go to a zoo and an aquarium and have a family
day and spend money at these institutions not caring what is really going on around them. Animals
really suffer by being in a captive environment. To be captive means to be confined to only one place,
I personally would not like to be confined to one area my whole life. Although some people may argue
that zoos save endangered species by placing them in a captive environment, safe from poacher,
starvation, and predators. Animals should not be captive. Animals should be free instead of being
captive for human enjoyment and profit because animals have rights, animals in captivity suffer from
stress, confinement, and boredom, and when zoos become overpopulated some zoos will outright kill
the surplus of animals. First of all, taking an animal out of their natural habitat to be held in tanks and
cages is extremely cruel. Animals should have some sort of rights. Animals should have the right to
not be held captive for public enjoyment and profit. According to Bob Oraboana, Every conscious
being has interests that should be respected. No being who is conscious of being alive should be
devalued to thinghood, dominated, used as a resource or a commodity. What Bob is saying is

Argumentative Essay On Roswell
Nearly half of our dear earthlings believe that extraterrestrial creatures and UFOs are real, but we still
do not have a single piece of solid evidence that proves, aliens and flying saucers are in fact real. For
the past few years people have been reporting alien sightings, but none of them have been fully
proven. Scientists and other officials have proven them to be wrong again and again with government
explanations. Aliens are extraterrestrial creatures that do not exist. In the cases of Roswell, area 51,
and alien abduction, actual facts have proven that they were indeed misunderstandings by the public
that caused people to think that there were alien and UFO sightings.
Roswell is perhaps one of the most famous alien reportings that has sparked the interest of many
humans. The so claimed UFO pieces of debris that were found near Roswell, New Mexico were
actually the remains of a military balloon. History, an informational website reveals that, Project
Mogul used sturdy, high altitude balloons to carry low frequency sound sensors into the tropopause, a
faraway part of the Earth s atmosphere that acts as a sound channel. At the time, the U.S. military was

Essay on The Sound of Waves by Yukio Mishima
In The Sound of Waves, Yukio Mishima creates an exquisite story which has strong idealistic and
mythic features. Although Mishima writes of young love and tranquility in The Sound of Waves, his
later works are categorized as aggressive and containing violent sexual actions. Even Mishima himself
referred to The Sound of Waves as that great joke on the public (qtd. in Ishiguro 385). However, one
cannot compare this novel to Mishima s other literary pieces; in order to classify it as romanticized,
one must evaluate the usage of imagery, an idealized setting, mythical allusions, and characterizations
which establish the romantic driven qualities in The Sound of Waves. It is apparent that nature plays a
major role throughout The Sound of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mythical allusions described by Mishima serve to highlight the other qualities within The Sound of
Waves. When Shinji first catches sight of Hatsue, she is letting her hair stream and her cheeks glow
(7). These characteristics are shown many times throughout the novel and resemble Vergil s depictions
of goddesses such as Venus and Juno in the Aeneid. One conflict that Hatsue must overcome is when
Yasuo attempts to rape her; his plot was obstructed by the intervention of a furious hornet. Hatsue sees
the flashing of the little golden colored wings and wonders what god it [is] who [has] come to her
rescue. (93).The interference of the hornet seems far fetched, for most would think that the hornet
would not only attack Yasuo, but also Hatsue. In this case, Mishima created an idealized situation
were nature as saved Hatsue from the immoral actions of Yasuo. The setting of the island Uta jima is
idealized, which creates a place where the romance between Hatsue and Shinji can seem realistic. The
reader begins the novel with a description of this island and two spots with surpassingly beautiful
views. (3).After this, the reader is introduced to a young man, Shinji, climbing up the stairs of the
lighthouse. Mishima depicts this area as one of the most beautiful views on the island. The

Art And Art
What is Art? Art is the aesthetic experiences we encounter when we are exposed to new responses of
sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell (McGraw 2013). According to McGraw no society has lived
without some form of art in human history. (2013) We have the ability to create images that have
evolved and find a new relationship with each one. Art is composed of meaningfulness in every
aspect, from the artist perspective. The symbolism of art changes from era to era. Art is created by
individuals who have acquired traits of; sensitivity, flexibility, originality, playfulness, productivity,
fluency, analytical and organizational skills (McGraw 2013). We will later elaborate on these traits
individually through pieces of art. The shift of cultures has impacted the trait of art, through eras of
history, which impact artist mindset and modern culture.
The meaning of Art to me personally is something that you should have a connection with and or
understanding of what the artist is talking about by looking at the painting or drawing. The quality,
production, expression, or realm, according to aesthetic principles, of what is beautiful, appealing, or
of more than ordinary . (dictionary) Referring to our textbook Living with Art refers to as Art being
simplified, fragmented and distorted. With that being said Art is needed to be natural and stylized in it
s own unique way.
In Art there are eras that had started in the BC s, just like stone age had started in

Campaign Contributions Of The Federal Election Campaign Act
Campaign contributions destroy the marketplace by expelling the views of average citizens in
exchange for the views of corporate donors that don t have the opportunity to have their views
scrutinized by the public. Their views are safe from criticism because they are able to shield their
views through backdoor talks with candidates. According Samuel Issacharoff, a professor of
Constitutional Law at the New York University of Law, in reference to political corruption, the source
of corruption was large expenditures capturing the marketplace of political ideas (Issacharoff). The
spread of ideas is essential to democracy and large donations to campaigns prevents ideas from
average citizens from being considered. The corruption from large corporations needs to be regulated
to allow for our democratic elections to be free and fair for everyone involved so that all suggestions
can be heard.
Congress tried to regulate this corruption by passing the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) of
1971. This act aimed to require campaigns to report all contributions and prevent direct campaign
contributions by corporations and unions. The act imposed contribution limits by corporations to
candidates. These limits fostered an environment where PACs or political action committees were
formed. The Federal Election Commission states, corporations and unions could use treasury funds to
establish, operate and solicit voluntary contributions for the organization s separate segregated fund

Track and field is among one of the oldest of all sports competitions, such as running, jumping, and
also throwing. Track and field started in Greece around 776 BC, and they created the 1st example of
organized track and field events with the 1st Olympic Games in Olympia, Greece. As many years went
by, track and field started to expand by inventing the Pentathlon which involved the long jump, javelin
throw, discus throw, 100m dash, and also wrestling. Years later the Decathlon added 5 more events
(400m, 1500m, hurdles, pole vault, and shot put.) This event became worldwide very quickly and now

but if noodles were the last food on Earth, I would be set. (Tannenbaum) Also he says when he is not

different events for the decathlon. For example, something he did to get better at high jump was play
basketball; he would dribble around, shoot around, go into layups and then try to dunk over and over
so he could get the feel and rhythm of the high jump. Ashton Eaton used to train at least five hours a
day, but now it s more like three or four hours and the quality of the workout is way better then
college. He says, Spending less total time training but really making it count is a smart way to

the same time it s different for Clay s typical breakfast is a couple slices of bacon done extra crispy,
one egg over hard, a small bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar, and a small cup of orange juice. After
eating all of that he drinks a bunch of coffee. Bryan Clay eats around 5,500 calories a day that
includes a big deli turkey sandwich with oil and vinegar, extra olives and ranch dressing. (Edelbaum)

The Suspense And Surprise In And Then There Were None
The suspense and surprise in And Then There Were None
Suspense and surprise in And Then There Were None Every well written murder mystery does not
have fixed features because the writers of detective story always want to give their readers a unique
feeling, but suspense and surprise are essential and indispensable. (Alewyn 184) In Agatha Christie s
And Then There Were None, she fully combines suspense and surprise through the omniscient point of
view and poignant plot. Therefore, And Then There Were None is a well written murder mystery. The
omniscient point of view means a method of storytelling in which the narrator knows the thoughts and
feelings of all of the characters in the story. (Abrams 233) Plot is the series of events that form the
story of a novel, play, and film (Abrams 294). I will show the suspense and surprise through the

from this fiction novel to prove it. In And Then There Were None, The writer uses the omniscient

A little background of CNY and CNH. Both of them are the same currency called Renminbi as stated
above. They are both the legal tender of China and their unit is Yuan (like pounds). The differences are
that CNY is only traded in mainland China, and one can only trade within a limited amount of CNY
against other currencies. CNH, on the other hand, is traded outside of mainland China such as Hong
Kong and London. There is no limited of how much CNH you can traded in a specific period and can
fluctuate freely without any government control. As a result, the exchange rate

Essay on The 1919 Black Sox Scandal
The 1919 Black Sox Scandal
The 1919 World Series resulted in the most famous scandal in baseball history. Eight players from the
Chicago White Sox (later nicknamed the Black Sox) were accused of throwing the series against the
Cincinnati Reds. Details of the scandal and the extent to which each man was involved have always
been unclear. It was, however, front page news across the country and, despite being acquitted of
criminal charges, the players were banned from professional baseball for life. The eight men included
the great shoeless Joe Jackson, pitchers Eddie Cicotte and Claude Lefty Williams; infielders Buck
Weaver, Arnold Chick Gandil, Fred McMullin, and Charles Swede Risberg; and outfielder Oscar
Happy Felsch. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Comiskey was able to get away with paying low salaries because of the reserve clause in players
contracts. This clause prevented players from changing teams without the permission of the owners.
Without a union, the players had no bargaining power.
Gamblers were often visibly present at ballparks and the fixing of games had been suspected since the
mid 1850s. Rumors circulated that players supplemented their incomes by throwing single games.
Several ballplayers had the reputation of working closely with gamblers. A small time gambler, Joseph
Sullivan, allegedly made money on inside tips from Chicago s Chick Gandil. Sullivan s bets were
safer when he knew a pitcher or hitter was sick, hurt, or having an off week.
Although gambling was intertwined with baseball long before the eight White Sox were accused of
fixing the Series, the number of gamblers at ballparks had dramatically increased by 1919. Ironically,
Comiskey posted signs throughout the park declaring, No Betting Allowed In This Park.
While the facts surrounding the throwing of the Series are confusing, people familiar with the case
agree Gandil was the ringleader. A few weeks before the 1919 World Series, Gandil approached
Sullivan about fixing the Series. He told Sullivan that for

Human Mind Control
OCD is a phrase that gets to the existential core of worry, a clenched, demonic doubting that overrides
evidence, empiricism, plain common sense (Slater234). The meme theory states that a meme consists
of everything that is passed from person to person (Blackmore 37). In Strange Creatures by Susan
Blackmore and Who Holds the Clicker? by Lauren Slater both authors discuss the control humans
have over their minds. In Who Holds the Clicker Lauren Slater discusses DBS (deep brain
simulation), which is a type of psychosurgery in which electrical impulses are sent to certain portions
of the brain to control and change the emotions one feels. She discusses both the positive and
negatives of deep brain simulation through a specific patient named Mario and also presents the
control DBS can have over one s mind. Similarly, Blackmore in Strange Creatures discusses the meme
theory, which consists of any idea that is passed down from person to person. Both authors provide
information that allows people to draw conclusions relating to why people do not have control over
their minds. Even though some people believe that humans do have control over their minds,
Blackmore and Slater both successfully portray that in actuality humans do not have any control over
their minds because human thoughts and ideas are unoriginal products of external forces, many human
thoughts occur at deeper level of consciousness, and

The Performance Of Bank Of England
The Performance of Bank of England and How the Outcomes Influenced by Policies and Objectives
during the Financial Crisis in 2008 Introduction In September 2008, thousands of financial sectors all
over the world went bankrupt like dominoes after the failure of Lehman Brothers Bank, which is also
known as the Financial Crisis of 2008, caused the severe recession of the economies around the world.
In order to help the country out of crisis, the central banks in different countries had to take measures
to stimulate the growth of economy. The goal of this essay is to introduce the measures that Bank of
England have taken in 2008 of financial crisis and will discuss the macroeconomics consequences and
effects. Three measures taken by Bank of England will be presented in first section and how
macroeconomics outcomes influenced by policies and objectives will be discussed in the second
section. The Performance of Bank of England in Financial Crisis in 2008 Following the crisis of
Fannie Mae and Freddie Macin Summer 2007, which is the beginning of the financial crisis of 2008,
John et al (2012) find that Bank of England kept on providing liquidity to banks and making an
exchange between high quality assets and Treasury Bills through liquidity support operations and
financial innovations which were also used by many other central banks. Adopting this approach
means that Bank of England can make the financial sectors more easily to receive financing on such
circumstance (Joyce

Seven Rules For Observational Research
Seven rules for observational research: how to watch people do stuff
Observational research, ethnography, or, in plain English, watching people do stuff, seems to be hot
these days. Newsweek touts it ( quot;Enough Talk, quot; August 18, 1997), which means it s getting to
be mainstream, but I find that a lot of clients aren t very comfortable with it.
Certainly, compared to traditional focus groups, mini groups, or one on one interviews, observational
research accounts for a pitiably small portion of most research budgets. Yogi Berra s famous line that
quot; You can observe a lot just by watching quot; is widely acknowledged, but observation remains
the most under utilized qualitative technique in marketing research.
One of the reasons ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They re making lunch for their kids, the same way I would if I were in their shoes. They re waiting for
their cars to be serviced, the same way I do. If my clients are along, they begin to get very antsy at this
point, because they re seeing the same thing I am: nothing out of the ordinary.
Rule 1 for observational researchers: quot;Ordinary quot; is what you re there to observe. If you don t
go looking for something extraordinary, you won t be so anxious when it doesn t appear. What you re
really looking for are the insights hidden in quot;ordinary. quot;
Observation gives you the chance to answer those questions such as quot; What do you do when that
happens? quot; that come up all the time in focus groups. Suddenly you re not restricted by
respondents memories, or their reluctance to discuss the issue in a group, or their desire to conceal
what they really do in order to present a more admirable face to the rest of the group.
Nothing people do is quot;natural quot;
The first time you try observational research, I guarantee that you ll find yourself wondering what
there is about the things you re seeing that requires an explanation. You may watch people walking
into a retail environment. They ll walk in, look around to get their bearings, walk over to a display or
proceed down an aisle, maybe pick up an item or two or compare prices. quot;Of course, quot; you ll
say to yourself, quot;that s just what I d do in their shoes. It s just common

This song is great for numerous reasons. In the opening of the song there is a drum solo played by
Joey Kramer. The solo is followed by a main riff from Joe Perry, repeated for a short time, and then is
played throughout the song in after about two or three stanzas. In the song a well heard beat by Joey
Kramer on drums is played which makes me want to tap my foot to the song. The chorus which
consists of the song title Walk This Way is well known by many and is one of the best parts of the
song. There is a great melody in the song and a guitar solo in the middle of the song played by Joe
Perry that makes me, and most people familiar with the song, want to either learn how to play or air
guitar to. This song also has a medium tempo that makes people want to nod their heads to or dance. I
Some of the lyrics that stood out to me was, I took a big chance at the high school dance... This part of
the song caught my attention because I noticed how he was talking about his past life and a brief
description of his high school experience. The last lyric that stood out to me was, I was a high school
loser, never made it with a lady... This intrigued me because of how he admits to how bad he was in
high school, but is comparing his past self to himself now as a superstar. Steven Tyler s lyrics stood
out to me and made the song much more interesting. Walk This Way is one of Aerosmith s greatest
songs and I

The Human Spirit In The Moon Is Down By John Steinbeck
Everyone, including some of the greatest and strongest beings known to mankind, has the ability to
overcome and stay strong in the midst of adversity. This strength and backbone of the soul is the
human spirit. The human spirit allows for the ability of overcome and remain strong in the midst of
adversity. In the novel The Moon is Down, the play Antigone and in the poem Invictus, the human
spirit gives the characters the ability to overcome oppression and have strength. Although each work is
set in a different era, the strength of the human spirit remains prevalent. The human spirit gives
individuals the ability to have determination and display strength in the midst of adversity and
oppression; both of which are exemplified throughout the life of every individual. In the novel The
Moon is Down by John Steinbeck, the townspeople demonstrate the power of human spirit through
their active resistance against the invading soldiers. At the beginning of the novel, the town is invaded
by Nazi soldiers, and the townspeople are caught off guard. Despite the fact that the Nazis believe the
townspeople will openly accept them, the townspeople do the opposite and actively resist their orders.
The first act of rebellion against the soldiers, which inspired many of the other townspeople to also
stand in opposition to the invaders, occurs when, From the doorway came the sound of an angry
woman s voice, and a thump and a man s cry. Joseph came scuttling through the door. She s thrown

Methods Of Observation As Directed By The Teacher
When observing pupils, you need to use appropriate methods of observation as directed by the teacher.
Observations can take place during lessons or in the playground. Observations and assessments should
cover all relevant aspects of pupilâ€TMs development including physical skills, language and
communication skills. Your observation and assessments must always be in line with the school policy
for record keeping, as well as observing a childâ€TMs development you also need to help the teacher
assess the childâ€TMs development based on your findings and other reliable information. You must
be able to make formative and summative assessments and record your assessments as appropriate to
the policies and procedures of your school. Formative assessments are initial and on going
assessments. Formative assessments identify future targets for the individual and groups as
appropriate to the ages, developmental needs an abilities of the pupils. Summative assessments are
assessments that summarise findings for example sats, teacherâ€TMs assessments, annual school
reports and reviews of pupils with special educational needs. Question: Question 6 Answer: There are
a number of reasons why some children do not follow the expected pattern. Emotional development
can be defined as the development of personality and temperament. If a child is not settled and has no

Essay On Vietnamese Immigration
After a bloody unpopular war that lasted nearly 20 years, one of the most unique immigration patterns
occurred from Vietnam to the United States that still prolongs today. Immigration to the United States
from the Vietnam War was a struggle, therefore America should create support programs because the
Vietnamese citizens were driven out of their war torn country. The war left the immigrants in
desperate need of therapy, and they need help adapting to their new home in America.

After you fled your war shredded country and left your beloved belongings behind, this was the case
for the immigrants. Most likely, recovering from that would be a difficulty, so the refugees would need
some therapy, preferably offered by American support groups. War can be emotionally scarring to the
person so therapy would be helpful. There were studies on their behavior as the author said, The
purpose of this study was to examine the pre and post migration variables that predict the
psychological distress and self destructive behavior for Vietnamese Amerasians the immigrants were
quite distressed (Bernak and Chung 1). Many immigrants were still haunted by the war as in this
quote, Still haunted by the horrors of war and overwhelmed by the imminent collapse of South
Vietnam, they were also wracked over uncertainty over their future in a new land many of them were
emotionally scarred (Tran 7). Many churches over the nation encouraged immigrants to join
Vietnamese communities so they could be with more of their kind for comfort. Many of those
communities are still here today like Little Saigon in Orange County, California. Some refugees were
still having flashbacks about the war so the U.S. government recommended that they should do
volunteer hours or part time jobs so they can keep their mind off of it and so they can get some profit.
For example, some of them worked as lawn mowers and cashiers and doing so would give them a

Stereotypes Of Women In The Short Happy Life Of Francis...
There are countless times that women have been shown or portrayed in a negative light, whether it be
in books, movies, or anything media related. This can basically be summed up by the word stereotype
which has been used many times in the past years. Sadly, women have a set of stereotypes that many
people believe, that really portrays them in a negative way. Ernest Hemingway portrays a certain set
of stereotypes of women as well, through many of his stories including The Short Happy Life of
Francis Macomber and The Cat in the Rain . Hemingway portrays women as being unfit to face the
realities of the real world. He suggests this by showing women as overly emotional, self absorbed, and
unable to make competent decisions whether it be under pressure, or just in general.
Women in Hemingway s stories are portrayed to be heavily sensitive and emotional, and unable to
deal with the realities of life. They do not seem to understand how life is not necessarily always going
to be a picture perfect world. In The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber , Margot Macomber is
shown as a very emotional women in many circumstances, as if she is not able to deal with obstacles
that life will throw at her. One instance of this is when the two men are having a discussion about
killing the lion. At one point, she is making jokes and seeming perfectly fine, then the next thing she
starts to cry. Her husband, Francis, and Wilson even acknowledge this as well. They describe how they

Water as a Source of Future Conflict in Sa
CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION Fierce competition for fresh water may well become a source of
conflict and wars in the future. Kofi Annan, former U.N. Secretary General in 2001 Background of the
Study 1. Water is directly related with the survival of human kind and it is crucial unlike other
resources, because it does not have choices and alternatives. As a consequence of global warming and
pollution, importance of water has increased much. Some 2 billion people already lack water supplies.
Water use has risen six fold over the past 70 years. By 2050, it is estimated that 4.2 billion people live
in countries that cannot meet people s daily basis needs. South Asia is a region of water abundance
and scarcity. Issues concerning water ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As global claim for water swell up but utilizable freshwater resources reduce, several research have
been carried out to imply that water shortage is and will be a chief basis of armed conflict; but little
methodical research has examined this theme from a national security perspective i.e. the
militarization of the river claim. 7. While taking SA into consideration, the most important and
abundant factor for the development is water. This factor is thus regarded as a very crucial in keeping
the relation between the countries. However understanding and peaceful the countries may seem, the
water factor has been affecting the inter state relationships now and will be doing the same in the
future in an ever increasing fashion. The ups and downs in the relationship are sure to result in the
armed conflict as the water resources being the only cause. Accounting to the issues of water; this
research paper focuses in the security issues and the interrelated political situation caused by the water
resources of the river basin of the SA. 8. At the same time as water resources in the SA are central in
the improvement of bilateral and multilateral regional relations, the consistent politics of water
resources and security issues have historically inclined regional politics and ensuing armed conflicts,
and will persist to do so in the future. Furthermore, water is

The Integration Of Computers And Software Tools
Bioinformatics is the integration of computers and software tools to analyse information associated
with biomolecules on a large scale. Conventionally, biological study examines individual system in
detail and uses the data that is produced to frequently compare similar systems that are related.
However, bioinformatics facilitates scientists to study and conduct global analysis of all the available
data. This allows researchers, to uncover common principles that may be applied across numerous
systems, which results in different features to be highlighted (Luscombe , et al., 2001).
Due to the increased amount of research that has been conducted in association with genes and
proteins, computational methods such as bioinformatics has become ... Show more content on

Computational biology became popular during the 1970 s when the price of computers decreased and
they were easier to use and more readily available. Subsequently, this new technology was introduced
primarily to store and manage data that was produced through genomic research. This then resulted in
investigations to be completed in shorter amounts of time, which lead to larger investigations, leading
to more data being produced. Thus, bigger and better computers were needed to manage the data that
was generated. Hence, bioinformatics was used to create tools, algorithms and databases, which
enabled comprehensive management of data. Therefore, as more and more data is being produced, the
need for more powerful computers are needed in order to manage the data. Furthermore, due to large
amount of data being generated, larger databases are required and more powerful tools are needed to
manage and store the data.
The proteins play a key role in the biological function and their studies make possible to understand
the mechanisms that occur in many biological events. The human genome project enabled the
emergence of proteomics. Proteomics is the large scale study of proteins, particularly the functions
and structure of different proteins. The field of bioinformatics has had a significant effect in
proteomics, as it has introduced new algorithms to handle large and heterogeneous data sets.
Moreover, Bioinformatics has offered the

  • 2. Why I Want To Be A Society Of Trout Persuasive Essay I would like to participate in the Society of Fellows because I am a lover of philosophy and it seems as if the Society of Fellows mix topics that intrigue me into one program, which is a great fit for me. The Society of Fellows examines the American Constitution, the same way my Constitutional Rights class discusses it, it asks more of people than to just know what the American Constitution says, but also asks what it means, and how that meaning of particular words has changed over time. This is the reason I am ecstatic about the program, being able to be a part of a program that looks at the Constitution in ways many do not try to. Also, to be able to belong to a program that does this a wonderful experience to have. Society of Fellows dissects the Constitution, and this is something I have always wanted to do with a group of individuals who has the same excitement level as I do while doing it. These are the reasons I would like to participate in the Society of Fellows. I expect to contribute my knowledge in discussions and my different view points on certain topics and issues to the fellowship class of 2016 2017. Society of Fellows seems to put and emphasis on in depth exploration and philosophy. Being a philosophy minor and taking a few classes to do with philosophy within political ... • 3. Violation Of Grant Assurance 22 Essay In the past, the FAA has found a constructive grant of a prohibited exclusive right whenever a Sponsor violated Grant Assurance 22, without regard to the number of entities conducting the same aeronautical activities or providing the same services. Under current policy, the FAA will consider the presence of other entities at the airport engaged in the same activities before finding that a violation of Grant Assurance 22 is also a constructive violation of Grant Assurance 23. The Grant Assurance includes an exception that permits a single FBO if both of the conditions below are met: It would be unreasonably costly, burdensome, or impractical for more than one fixed based operator to provide such services; and If allowing more than one FBO would require the reduction of space currently leased by the single FBO. In other words, even if it would be impractical for two FBOs to operate at the airport, if the Sponsor has vacant space that could accommodate a second FBO, it cannot rely on this exception to deny access to the second FBO. In addition, the FAA interprets Grant Assurance 23 to permit a Sponsor to offer commercial aeronautical services with its own employees and equipment on an exclusive basis. This right is referred to as the proprietary exclusive right. The use of the Sponsor s own employees and equipment is critical to this exception. The Sponsor cannot rely on an agency relationship or contract the services to a third party and claim the proprietary exclusive ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Examples Of Structuralism In I Wandered Lonely As A Cloud I am putting to use a structuralist view upon the poem I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud because it can be related to with simpleness, put down to the fact that it is positioned in the lyrical genre. Structuralism is a theory in which all elements of human culture are thought to be part of a system of signs. Robert Scholes demarcated structuralism as a reaction towards despair and modernism (Scholes, Robert. Structuralism in Literature: An Introduction, 1975). I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud is a poem that commemorates the utmost beauty of nature to such a degree that the poet believes it to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As previously stated, structuralism is a theory in which all elements of human culture are thought to be part of a system of signs. Structuralists are concerned with issues such as form and genre. The reason why I chose to apply a structuralist perspective upon William Wordsworth s poem is due to the fact that that it can be easily interacted with because it is positioned in the lyrical genre. The rhyming scheme is in the form ABABCC. The rhyming couplet evident at the end of each stanza creates an unpretentious break caused by the addition of a new stanza. As a result, the final line of teach stanza contains an additional sense of emphasis. The final line of the poem mentions the show and conveys images of dancing daffodils, a long lasting impression discussed by Wordsworth. The meter of this poem is an iambic tetrameter. The meter creates a rhythm with a musical, song like quality, to which the daffodils may dance. Wordsworth also employs consonance and alliteration to create the sense of rhythm. The form of a poem is of utmost importance to structuralist critics. I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud is twenty four lines long and it features four stanzas with six lines each. In each individual stanza there is a perceptible pattern the first line rhymes with the third line and the second line rhymes with the fourth line. The stanzas finish with the inclusion of a rhyming couplet. By concentrating the first three stanzas on the lake experience and the final on the memory of that experience, Wordsworth amalgamates the content of the poem. It is interesting to note that despite the obvious fact that I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud is built as a sonnet although it is a lyrical poem. Wordsworth employs figurative language such as comparisons, personification, epithets and metaphors so as to express his feelings to the reader. As a sub genre, I Wandered Lonely as ... • 9. Importance Of Animals In Captivity Almost every human being has been to a zoo or an aquarium. Everyone has seen how the animals are in small cages and people enjoy watching them not even caring to take into consideration how the animal may feel. But then who cares right? It is fun to go to a zoo and an aquarium and have a family day and spend money at these institutions not caring what is really going on around them. Animals really suffer by being in a captive environment. To be captive means to be confined to only one place, I personally would not like to be confined to one area my whole life. Although some people may argue that zoos save endangered species by placing them in a captive environment, safe from poacher, starvation, and predators. Animals should not be captive. Animals should be free instead of being captive for human enjoyment and profit because animals have rights, animals in captivity suffer from stress, confinement, and boredom, and when zoos become overpopulated some zoos will outright kill the surplus of animals. First of all, taking an animal out of their natural habitat to be held in tanks and cages is extremely cruel. Animals should have some sort of rights. Animals should have the right to not be held captive for public enjoyment and profit. According to Bob Oraboana, Every conscious being has interests that should be respected. No being who is conscious of being alive should be devalued to thinghood, dominated, used as a resource or a commodity. What Bob is saying is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although Mishima writes of young love and tranquility in The Sound of Waves, his later works are categorized as aggressive and containing violent sexual actions. Even Mishima himself referred to The Sound of Waves as that great joke on the public (qtd. in Ishiguro 385). However, one cannot compare this novel to Mishima s other literary pieces; in order to classify it as romanticized, one must evaluate the usage of imagery, an idealized setting, mythical allusions, and characterizations which establish the romantic driven qualities in The Sound of Waves. Mythical allusions described by Mishima serve to highlight the other qualities within The Sound of Waves. When Shinji first catches sight of Hatsue, she is letting her hair stream and her cheeks glow (7). These characteristics are shown many times throughout the novel and resemble Vergil s depictions of goddesses such as Venus and Juno in the Aeneid. One conflict that Hatsue must overcome is when Yasuo attempts to rape her; his plot was obstructed by the intervention of a furious hornet. Hatsue sees the flashing of the little golden colored wings and wonders what god it [is] who [has] come to her rescue. (93).The interference of the hornet seems far fetched, for most would think that the hornet would not only attack Yasuo, but also Hatsue. In this case, Mishima created an idealized situation were nature as saved Hatsue from the immoral actions of Yasuo. The setting of the island Uta jima is idealized, which creates a place where the romance between Hatsue and Shinji can seem realistic. Campaign Contributions Of The Federal Election Campaign Act Campaign contributions destroy the marketplace by expelling the views of average citizens in exchange for the views of corporate donors that don t have the opportunity to have their views scrutinized by the public. Their views are safe from criticism because they are able to shield their views through backdoor talks with candidates. According Samuel Issacharoff, a professor of Constitutional Law at the New York University of Law, in reference to political corruption, the source of corruption was large expenditures capturing the marketplace of political ideas (Issacharoff). The spread of ideas is essential to democracy and large donations to campaigns prevents ideas from average citizens from being considered. The corruption from large corporations needs to be regulated to allow for our democratic elections to be free and fair for everyone involved so that all suggestions can be heard. Congress tried to regulate this corruption by passing the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) of 1971. This act aimed to require campaigns to report all contributions and prevent direct campaign contributions by corporations and unions. The act imposed contribution limits by corporations to candidates. These limits fostered an environment where PACs or political action committees were formed. • 32. Essay On Vietnamese Immigration After a bloody unpopular war that lasted nearly 20 years, one of the most unique immigration patterns occurred from Vietnam to the United States that still prolongs today. Immigration to the United States from the Vietnam War was a struggle, therefore America should create support programs because the Vietnamese citizens were driven out of their war torn country. The war left the immigrants in desperate need of therapy, and they need help adapting to their new home in America. One of the most violent wars in history drove many of Vietnam s citizens out of the war torn nightmare of a country. Citizens were frightened for their lives, they didn t know what would happen to them after the North overtook Vietnam, and furthermore, they fled. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After you fled your war shredded country and left your beloved belongings behind, this was the case for the immigrants. Most likely, recovering from that would be a difficulty, so the refugees would need some therapy, preferably offered by American support groups. War can be emotionally scarring to the person so therapy would be helpful. There were studies on their behavior as the author said, The purpose of this study was to examine the pre and post migration variables that predict the psychological distress and self destructive behavior for Vietnamese Amerasians the immigrants were quite distressed (Bernak and Chung 1). Many immigrants were still haunted by the war as in this quote, Still haunted by the horrors of war and overwhelmed by the imminent collapse of South Vietnam, they were also wracked over uncertainty over their future in a new land many of them were emotionally scarred (Tran 7). Many churches over the nation encouraged immigrants to join Vietnamese communities so they could be with more of their kind for comfort. Many of those communities are still here today like Little Saigon in Orange County, California. Some refugees were still having flashbacks about the war so the U.S. government recommended that they should do volunteer hours or part time jobs so they can keep their mind off of it and so they can get some profit. For example, some of them worked as lawn mowers and cashiers and doing so would give them a decent amount of money to start to partially support ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Stereotypes Of Women In The Short Happy Life Of Francis... There are countless times that women have been shown or portrayed in a negative light, whether it be in books, movies, or anything media related. This can basically be summed up by the word stereotype which has been used many times in the past years. Sadly, women have a set of stereotypes that many people believe, that really portrays them in a negative way. Ernest Hemingway portrays a certain set of stereotypes of women as well, through many of his stories including The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber and The Cat in the Rain . Hemingway portrays women as being unfit to face the realities of the real world. He suggests this by showing women as overly emotional, self absorbed, and unable to make competent decisions whether it be under pressure, or just in general. Women in Hemingway s stories are portrayed to be heavily sensitive and emotional, and unable to deal with the realities of life. They do not seem to understand how life is not necessarily always going to be a picture perfect world. In The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber , Margot Macomber is shown as a very emotional women in many circumstances, as if she is not able to deal with obstacles that life will throw at her. One instance of this is when the two men are having a discussion about killing the lion. At one point, she is making jokes and seeming perfectly fine, then the next thing she starts to cry. Her husband, Francis, and Wilson even acknowledge this as well. They describe how they both saw ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Water as a Source of Future Conflict in Sa CHAPTER I INTRODUCTION Fierce competition for fresh water may well become a source of conflict and wars in the future. Kofi Annan, former U.N. Secretary General in 2001 Background of the Study 1. Water is directly related with the survival of human kind and it is crucial unlike other resources, because it does not have choices and alternatives. As a consequence of global warming and pollution, importance of water has increased much. Some 2 billion people already lack water supplies. Water use has risen six fold over the past 70 years. By 2050, it is estimated that 4.2 billion people live in countries that cannot meet people s daily basis needs. South Asia is a region of water abundance and scarcity. Issues concerning water ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As global claim for water swell up but utilizable freshwater resources reduce, several research have been carried out to imply that water shortage is and will be a chief basis of armed conflict; but little methodical research has examined this theme from a national security perspective i.e. the militarization of the river claim. 7. While taking SA into consideration, the most important and abundant factor for the development is water. This factor is thus regarded as a very crucial in keeping the relation between the countries. However understanding and peaceful the countries may seem, the water factor has been affecting the inter state relationships now and will be doing the same in the future in an ever increasing fashion. The ups and downs in the relationship are sure to result in the armed conflict as the water resources being the only cause. Accounting to the issues of water; this research paper focuses in the security issues and the interrelated political situation caused by the water resources of the river basin of the SA. 8. At the same time as water resources in the SA are central in the improvement of bilateral and multilateral regional relations, the consistent politics of water resources and security issues have historically inclined regional politics and ensuing armed conflicts, and will persist to do so in the future. Furthermore, water is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Integration Of Computers And Software Tools Bioinformatics is the integration of computers and software tools to analyse information associated with biomolecules on a large scale. Conventionally, biological study examines individual system in detail and uses the data that is produced to frequently compare similar systems that are related. However, bioinformatics facilitates scientists to study and conduct global analysis of all the available data. This allows researchers, to uncover common principles that may be applied across numerous systems, which results in different features to be highlighted (Luscombe , et al., 2001). Due to the increased amount of research that has been conducted in association with genes and proteins, computational methods such as bioinformatics has become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Computational biology became popular during the 1970 s when the price of computers decreased and they were easier to use and more readily available. Subsequently, this new technology was introduced primarily to store and manage data that was produced through genomic research. This then resulted in investigations to be completed in shorter amounts of time, which lead to larger investigations, leading to more data being produced. Thus, bigger and better computers were needed to manage the data that was generated. Hence, bioinformatics was used to create tools, algorithms and databases, which enabled comprehensive management of data. Therefore, as more and more data is being produced, the need for more powerful computers are needed in order to manage the data. Furthermore, due to large amount of data being generated, larger databases are required and more powerful tools are needed to manage and store the data. The proteins play a key role in the biological function and their studies make possible to understand the mechanisms that occur in many biological events. The human genome project enabled the emergence of proteomics. Proteomics is the large scale study of proteins, particularly the functions and structure of different proteins. The field of bioinformatics has had a significant effect in proteomics, as it has introduced new algorithms to handle large and heterogeneous data sets. Moreover, Bioinformatics has offered the ... Then, in an attempt to regain that trust by admitting to the truth, he confessed that he was responsible for Wellington s death. The fact that his father was a murderer horrified Christopher and compelled him to leave home in search of his mother. He rode a train to London and overcame his fear of public toilets. It was a huge step for a lad for whom the shop at the corner of the street was the furthest he had ventures alone. He found his mother in London and stayed with her for a few days. However, things were strained in the household and Chris s mother eventually broke up with Mr. Shears and returns to Swindon. She got a job and rented a room where Christopher and herself can reside, Christopher wrote his A level math exam and even got an A grade in all three papers. Writing this book was a huge revelation for Christopher. He discovered many new things and overcame many fears. Having autism allowed Christopher to identify patterns within loads of data. He was also able to rationalize actions which at first sight seem morally wrong. This allows him to continue with his investigation although his father initially forbade him to do.
