TO GET A CALL
Rom 10:12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for
the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.

Roses are red, violets are blue,

Isa 6
1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a
throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple.

2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he
covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did
fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of
hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
4 And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the
house was filledwith smoke.
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean
lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have
seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
6 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand,
which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips;
and thine iniquityis taken away, and thy sin purged.
8 Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who
will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand
not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.
10 Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut
their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and
understandwith their heart, and convert, and be healed.
11 Then said I, Lord, how long? And he answered, Until the cities be
wasted without inhabitant, and the houses without man, and the land be
utterly desolate,
12 And the LORD have removed men far away, and there be a great
forsakingin the midst of the land.
13 But yet in it shall be a tenth, and it shall return, and shall be eaten: as a
teil tree, and as an oak, whose substance is in them, when they cast their
leaves: so the holy seed shall be the substance thereof.
Uzziah (Azariah)
The 11th
king of Judah (2King 15, 2Chron 26), he was 16yrs old when he
became king and reigned 52yrs. The first 24yrs. of his reign were co-

regent with his father (Amaziah). Uzziah is the king that went into the
temple to burn incense and God struck him with leprosy.

The prophet Isaiah is quoted or referred to some eighty-fivetimes in the New
Testament.
Jesus quotes the book of Isaiah eight times during his ministry.
 Jesus speaks in parables, fulfilling Isaiah’s prophecy concerning “eyes that do not see”
and “ears that do not hear” (Is 6:9–10; Mt 13:14–15; Mk 4:12; Lk 8:10).
 When Jesus turns over the tables in the temple, he references Isaiah’s words on how
the house of God was intended to operate (Is 56:7; Mt 21:13; Mk 11:17; Lk 19:46).

 He calls out the Pharisees and scribes for their lip service to God—they honor God with
their words, but their hearts are far, far from him (Is 29:13; Mt 15:8–9; Mk 7:6–7).
 He alludes to Isaiah in his parable of the vineyard (Is 5:1; Mt 21:33; Mk 12:1; Lk 20:9)

3. Strain your ears vs8

Your brain filters out a lot of white noise (for lack of a better word). If itdidn't you
would be inundated with constantsounds unnecessary for your survival(think of
crowd noiseat a ball game). When you are straining to hear a softnoise, you are
telling your brain to focus on that to the exclusion of all other sounds.

Isa 65:12 Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow

Isa 66:4 I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon
them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not
hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I

calledyou, but ye answerednot;
Zech 7:13 Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would
not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:
Matt 23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and
stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered
thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her
wings, and ye wouldnot!
4. Volunteer vs8

As I was giving a speech on "who's a volunteer," the following thought came to
me: "Since everyone says 'crime doesn't pay'--should we start thinking of criminals
as 'volunteers'?"
In response to the observation that volunteers are too often seen as amateurs:
"Just remember: Noah's Ark was built by amateurs. The Titanicwas built by
professionals."

You only volunteer for what you think is valuable
