RESPONDING TO
GOD’S CALL
 ISAIAH 6:1-
 8
Isa 6:1-8
1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord seated on a
throne, high and exalted, and the train of his robe filled the
temple. 2 Above him were seraphs, each with six wings: With
two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their
feet, and with two they were flying. 3 And they were calling to
        one another:

        "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory."

4 At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds
shook and the temple was filled with smoke.

Isa 6:1-8
5 "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean
lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have
seen the King, the LORD Almighty."

6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his
hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar. 7 With it he
touched my mouth and said, "See, this has touched your lips;
your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for."

8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send?
And who will go for us?"

And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND.
      ISAIAH= means the Lord Saves.

Isaiah prophesied and ministered under the reigns of
King Uzziah, King Jotham, King Ahaz, and King
Hezekiah, kings of Judah from 792-732 BC altogether.
       (Pre-exilic)
Isaiah appears to be a high ranking religious
leader, particularly the office of the prophet in
Jerusalem during the term of various kings.
It is exceedingly probable that he was the head of the
prophetic order, holding in Jerusalem the same rank that
Elisha had held in the prophetic schools in Israel. His
authority greatly increased after the fulfillment of his
prophecies by the Babylonian Exile, the victories of king
Cyrus of Babylon, and the deliverance of the covenant
       people.
The message of the book is judgment to Israel and the
Hope of the nation thru a deliverer.
He suffered martyrdom by being sawn apart at the end
of King Hezekiah’s reign. (allusion in Hebrews 11:37)
V1. THE VISION OF THE HIGHEST RULER.

 V1 “In the year that King Uzziah died, I
saw the Lord seated on a throne, high
and exalted, and the train of his robe
       filled the temple.”

 Jesus is the name above every name!

 Phil 2:9 “Therefore God exalted him to
the highest place and gave him the name
       that is above every name.”
V2.THE VISION OF THE HIGHEST BEINGS.

 V2 “Above him were seraphs, each with six
wings: With two wings they covered their
faces, with two they covered their feet, and
       with two they were flying.”

 His Angels are our helpers and companion.

 Ps 91:11 “For he will command his angels
concerning you to guard you in all your
       ways;”
V 3-4. THE VISION OF THE HIGHEST ADORATION.

 V3 “And they were calling to one another:
"Holy, holy, holy is the LORD Almighty; the whole
earth is full of his glory." 4 At the sound of their
voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the
        temple was filled with smoke.”

 All the peoples of the earth will give praise and
        highest adoration to Jesus.

 Rev 5:13 “Then I heard every creature in heaven and
on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all
that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the
throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and
glory and power, for ever and ever!"
V5. THE VISION OF THE HIGHEST REMORSE.

       V5 "Woe to me!" I cried. "I am ruined! For I
am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a
people of unclean lips, and my eyes have
seen the King, the LORD Almighty."

 True repentance will lead to renewed
        strength and supernatural refreshing for
        more effective ministry.

 Acts 3:18-19 “Repent, then, and turn to
God, so that your sins may be wiped
out, that times of refreshing may come from
        the Lord,”
V 6-7. THE VISION OF THE HIGHEST GRACE.

 V6 “Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a
live coal in his hand, which he had taken with
tongs from the altar. 7 With it he touched my
mouth and said, "See, this has touched your
lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin
        atoned for."

 We are atoned by His grace.

 Heb 2:17 ”For this reason he had to be made like
his brothers in every way, in order that he might
become a merciful and faithful high priest in
service to God, and that he might make
atonement for the sins of the people.”
V8a. THE VISION OF THE HIGHEST CALLING.

 V8a “Then I heard the voice of the Lord
saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go
        for us?”

 The Highest God is calling His servants to
take heed and comply to His highest calling!

 Rom 8:30 “And those he predestined, he
        also called; those he called, he also justified;
those he justified, he also glorified. 31
What, then, shall we say in response to this?
If God is for us, who can be against us?”
V8b. THE VISION OF THE HIGHEST RESPONSE.

  V1 8b “And I said, "Here am I. Send me!"
                           EXODUS 3:1-4

1 One day Moses was tending the flock of
his father-in-law, Jethro,* the priest of
Midian, and he went deep into the wilderness
near Sinai,* the mountain of God.
2 Suddenly, the angel of the Lord appeared
to him as a blazing fire in a bush. Moses was
amazed because the bush was engulfed in
flames, but it didn’t burn up. 3 “Amazing!”
Moses said to himself. “Why isn’t that bush
burning up? I must go over to see this.”
4 When the Lord saw that he had caught
Moses’ attention, God called to him from the
bush, “Moses! Moses!” Here I am!” Moses
                           replied.
SIGNS THAT YOU ARE BEING CALLED Y
    GOD TO A SPECIFIC MINISTRY.
   1. HIS WORD TELLS YOU SO. No calling from God that will
go in contradictory with His word. It must be based from
        a Rhema. “SOLA SCRIPTURA”

   2. HIS PEOPLE ASKED YOU SO. Your calling must be
confirmed by your own family and by the church. No
        self-proclaimed prophet is allowed.

   3. YOUR CONVICTION URGED YOU SO. There must be a
strong desire coming from within your heart to go and
        do that ministry.

   4. HIS SPIRIT HAS LED YOU SO. The Holy Spirit will assist
you in accomplishing the task. That will be your
        confirmation.
WE HESITATE WHEN WE ARE CALLED.
THE COMMON ALIBIS.
          1. I AM NOT YET READY.

          2. FINANCIAL FEAR.

          3. FEAR OF THE UNKNOWN.

          4. COMPLACENCY

          5. PROCRASTINATION.

          6. HARD-HEARTEDNESS.

          7. LOOKING BUSY/BUSY-BODIES
"As true as God's own word is true;
Nor earth, nor hell, with all their crew,
Against us shall prevail.
A jest, and by-word, are they grown;
God is with us, we are his own,
Our victory cannot fail."

THINK ABOUT THIS:

 What is more important for
you, your soul or your body?
 The Lord Jesus is asking us, “What good is it for a man
to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what
can a man give in exchange for his soul? (Mark 8:36-
   37)”

 “Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but
cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who
can destroy both soul and body in hell” Matt 10:28
