Teaching Elder Duke Shelley of Black Forest Chapel continues a series on Revelation. Part 14 explores further the letter to the Church at Philadelphia.
1) God created humans in His image but Adam and Eve disobeyed and brought sin into the world.
2) Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to earth and died on the cross to save humanity from sin. He rose from the dead.
3) Those who repent of their sins and believe in Jesus will have eternal life, while those who do not believe face eternal condemnation.
This document provides passages from the Bible about remembering God's nature and power, confirming his purpose, asking God for daily needs and forgiveness, repenting from sin, asking to be kept from temptation and evil, praising God for his glory, and acknowledging eternity. Key points include God ruling over all from heaven, his glorious holiness, granting requests, forgiving others as Christ forgave us, God protecting believers from being tempted beyond their endurance, and the vision of a new heaven and earth without pain or death.

What has been God's desire from the moment He created us? Did you know that desire has not changed? The coming of Christ to this earth has been a matter of much study yet many fail to grasp the reason for Christ's coming. Christ did not come that we could merely be forgiven; Christ came so we could be restored. God created us for His glory and through the plan of redemption He intends to carry out the original plan.
The document discusses seeking God and knowing Him. It provides numerous Bible verses encouraging people to seek God, know Him, find Him, turn to Him, and understand Him. The verses state that if people seek God with their whole heart, they will find Him and He will not forsake them. God searches people's hearts and wants them to know and serve Him. Those who know God and seek Him will not lack any good thing.
Do you feel you need a Saviour? Are your sins too great to bear. There is a Man who is Friend of sinners, He is Jesus, He does care. On the Cross He bore our sin, God, dying for you and me. He cleared the debt, He paid the price, believing, we are now set free.

„You are My sign for those on the earth and for those in heaven, the sign before My com-ing, the sign of the Son of Man, and I carry you with the cross into your little hand when I carry you as My sign over the earth.”
This document contains passages from Revelation describing a scene in heaven where a great multitude praises God for judging and avenging the corruption of the earth. It discusses God's judgment of Babylon the great, salvation coming to God through Christ, and the righteous being clothed in fine linen while the wicked receive eternal punishment in smoke and fire. The marriage of Christ and his bride the church is proclaimed, and all are called to praise God.
THIS MESSAGE IS TAKEN FROM REVELATION 14:6-12. THIS IS THE MESSAGE THAT IS TO BE PREACHED RIGHT NOW THAT WILL RIPEN THE WORLD INTO TWO GROUPS: THE RIGHTEOUS AND THE WICKED...
The document describes two groups - Church Age Saints and Tribulation Saints. Church Age Saints are kept out of the Great Tribulation by the rapture while Tribulation Saints come out of the tribulation through martyrdom. Both groups are before God's throne in heaven clothed in white, but there are differences in their positions, crowns, and roles.

Paul defends himself before King Agrippa, recounting how he was formerly a persecutor of Christians but experienced a vision of Jesus on the road to Damascus. As a result of this encounter, God appointed Paul as a witness to call others to repent from darkness and turn to God through faith in Jesus. Paul now finds himself on trial for preaching this message. He asserts that nothing he preaches contradicts the prophets and that his sole purpose is to proclaim the word of God.
The document discusses the 144,000 witnesses described in Revelation 7 and 14. It describes how four angels hold back winds to prevent harm until the 144,000 servants of God are sealed. The 144,000 are 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes of Israel and are said to be redeemed from the earth and follow the Lamb without fault, having kept themselves chaste.

This document contains prayers and passages from the Bible focused on Saint Peter. It includes:
1) Prayers asking for the intercession of Saint Peter and the Virgin Mary for mercy and protection.
2) Bible passages recounting Jesus designating Peter as the head of his Church and giving him the keys to the kingdom of Heaven.
3) The Lord's Prayer and closing prayers asking God to make us merciful like him.
The document summarizes the first five bowls of God's wrath that are poured out on the earth from Revelation 16:1-11. It describes how the first bowl results in malignant sores on those who worshipped the beast. The second bowl turns the sea to blood, killing all sea life. The third bowl turns rivers and springs to blood. The fourth bowl scorches people with fire from the sun. The fifth bowl plunges the beast's kingdom into darkness as people suffer pains and sores but refuse to repent of their evil deeds.
The sixth angel sounds his trumpet and releases four angels that were bound at the great river Euphrates. The four angels lead an army of 200 million horsemen who kill a third of mankind with fire, smoke, and brimstone that proceeds from their mouths. Those who survive do not repent of worshipping demons and idols.

The seven angels are given seven golden bowls filled with the wrath of God by one of the four living creatures. The bowls contain the plagues that will be poured out on the earth as judgment. This is the same bowls that in chapter 5 contained the prayers of the saints, which have now been transformed into God's wrathful judgments. The temple is filled with smoke from God's glory and power, and no one can enter until the seven plagues contained in the bowls have been completed.
The document discusses 8 raptures that are mentioned in the Bible. It provides biblical references for the raptures of Enoch, Moses, Elijah, Jesus, the church, two witnesses, tribulation saints, and the final rapture when all people will be given to God. It then examines what is known and unknown about the rapture of the church from passages in 1 Thessalonians and 1 Corinthians. It proposes that the dead will rise first to reunite with glorified bodies, then the living will be instantly changed at the last trumpet blast during the rapture event.
The document discusses Zacharias, a priest, who encounters the angel Gabriel at the altar of incense. Gabriel tells Zacharias that his wife Elizabeth will bear a son named John, but Zacharias doubts this due to his and his wife's old age. As punishment for his disbelief, Zacharias is rendered mute and unable to speak until John's birth. The document then discusses the significance of prayer and incense in the Bible and how prayer should be made with faith, without doubt or wrath.
1) John wept when he saw that no one was found worthy to open the scroll sealed with seven seals. 2) One of the elders told John not to weep and said that Jesus, as both the Lion of Judah and the slain Lamb, had prevailed to open the scroll. 3) When John looked, he saw the Lamb standing in the midst of the throne, appearing as if it had been slain.
Ha62 09272015 why i love the church of christ part5James Bradshaw
This document summarizes a sermon about why the author loves the Church of Christ. The main points are:
1) Jesus Christ is the head of the Church of Christ. As its head, the mission of the Church is the same as Jesus' mission - to seek and save the lost.
2) Jesus Christ built the Church of Christ and he has all authority. He gave the apostles the power to bind and loose on earth.
3) Jesus Christ paid for and cleansed the Church of Christ with his own blood. Believers are cleansed of their sins through baptism.
Peter addresses a crowd in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost and tells them that Jesus, who they crucified, has been resurrected and exalted by God as both Lord and Christ. He quotes scripture prophesying this and explaining that the pouring out of the Holy Spirit they are witnessing is the fulfillment of God's promise. The crowd asks what they should do, and Peter tells them to repent and be baptized to receive forgiveness and the Holy Spirit. Many then believe and are baptized, totaling about three thousand people added that day.
Paul expresses his desire for Israel to be saved. However, Israel did not understand God's righteousness and instead tried to establish their own righteousness. True righteousness comes through faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying Mosaic law. One must believe in their heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord to be saved. Faith comes from hearing the word of God.
The Church in Thyatira was a church under pressure. Many of the believers were blackballed from the trade guilds of Thyatira because they refused to participate in the pagan cult rituals which were infused in the guilds. It was also a church that was being split by the immoral influence of a false teacher Jesus calls Jezebel. Jesus commends the believers who stood firm and rebukes those who rejected biblical morality and embraced lawlessness. This sermon deals with false teachings like the hyper-grace movement which elevates grace to the point where morality no longer matters.
This sermon will look at Jesus' letter to the church at Philadelphia in Revelation 3. This is one of the two churches that received no word of rebuke from Jesus, only commendation. It was a persevering church. Jesus lavishes great promises on this church, including a new name and that they would be spiritual pillars of the church.

This document outlines strategies and examples for being effective witnesses for Christianity. It discusses how Christians are called to be witnesses based on passages from the Bible. It provides examples from the lives of Jesus, Paul, and Ezekiel of how to effectively witness. It then lists and describes various methods of evangelism that Christians can utilize. It emphasizes the importance of prayer, authenticity, deeds, and storytelling in evangelism efforts. It encourages Christians to make lists of people to pray for and look for opportunities to share the gospel with them.
You are invited to a conversational evangelism seminar from October 15-17, 2010 with Edwin Jones on practical evangelism. The seminar will discuss how the Thessalonians' evangelism program was effective because they had experienced the power of the gospel in their lives, knew who they were as Christians, and were waiting on the Lord.
The document is a sermon outline about a faker who was converted but later failed before being restored according to passages from Acts 8:5-24. The outline discusses how the faker was initially converted but later failed in his faith before being restored through the help of others.
This presentation moves verse-by-verse through the first chapter of Revelation and sets the stage for Christ's seven letters to His seven churches of the ancient world.
1. The letter is addressed to the church in Philadelphia and commends them for having little power yet remaining faithful by keeping Christ's word and not denying his name.
2. Christ promises the church an open door that no one can shut, and that they will be kept from the coming "hour of testing" meant for the whole world.
3. The faithful church is assured of future victory over their enemies and persecution, and promised to be made a pillar in God's temple.
The risen Christ is the Conqueror, the Exalted One, the Lamb of God, the great High Priest, and the coming King. Demonstrations of power, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the transformation of lives give evidence to the risen Christ. Let have more of these!

The document discusses eternal judgment and punishment as described in the Bible. It provides numerous passages that describe how those whose names are not found in the book of life will be thrown into the lake of fire for eternal punishment with weeping and gnashing of teeth, while the righteous will receive eternal life. God will judge all people impartially according to their deeds.
The seventh trumpet sounds, signaling that God's kingdom has begun and He will reign forever. The 24 elders fall and worship God for taking His power and beginning to reign. The nations are enraged by God's wrath and judgment, and it is time to reward the faithful and destroy those who destroy the earth. When the seventh trumpet sounds, the temple of God in heaven opens and the ark of His covenant appears with flashes of lightning, sounds, peals of thunder, an earthquake, and great hailstorm.
The document describes a war in heaven between Michael and his angels against the dragon (Satan). Satan and his angels were defeated and cast out of heaven down to earth. It then describes how Satan seeks to turn people away from God and persecutes believers. God protects and sustains believers through difficult times. Satan will be allowed to persecute the church for a limited time, but believers can find refuge in God and will ultimately be victorious through Christ.
The document discusses the biblical phrase "calling on the name of the Lord" from Romans 10:13. It explores what this means by looking at other passages. Calling on the Lord's name involves believing, repenting of sins, and being baptized in Jesus' name. It requires hearing the gospel through preaching, and having faith that comes from hearing the Word of God. Paul's conversion experience is used as an example of someone who called on the Lord's name by seeing Christ, believing, fasting, praying, and being baptized to wash away his sins.
Colossians 3:1-10. SPIRITUAL REVIVAL IS NEEDED IN THE LIVES OF MANY CHRISTIANS
NOT THAT WE ARE BAD PEOPLE, WE HAVE JUST BECOME LUKEWARM
I. RECOGNIZE AND ACCEPT THE LORDSHIP OF JESUS
II. STUDY HIS WORD CONSTANTLY
III. PRAY FOR HIS GUIDANCE AND STRENGTH
IV. WORSHIP HIM IN SPIRIT AND TRUTH
V. SERVE HIM BY SERVING OTHERS
The document describes John's vision in Revelation of four living creatures surrounding God's throne. Each creature had six wings and eyes all over, and they took on aspects of a lion, calf, man, and eagle. They continually praised God as holy. Twenty-four elders also worshipped God, recognizing he created all things and deserves glory. The living creatures and elders modeled worship of the worthy God.
1) On the day of Pentecost, as prophesied, the Holy Spirit came upon the apostles with power, fulfilling Jesus' promise.
2) Peter preached to the crowd about Jesus' death and resurrection, calling them to repent and be baptized for forgiveness of sins.
3) About 3,000 people responded to the message and were added to the church that day, marking its beginning with God's power, as he had planned.
This document discusses the timing of the Judgment Seat of Christ based on the passage in 2 Samuel 1. It suggests that David represents God the Father, Saul represents a backslidden Christian, and the Amalekite represents the accuser of the brethren, Satan. Key points made include: the accuser shows up on the third day to accuse Christians before God; his goal is to steal their rewards; after being cast out of heaven, he has great wrath for a short time left on Earth; after the Judgment Seat, there is a wedding in heaven for 6 months before Satan is thrown into the lake of fire.
The angel shows John a vision of a woman sitting on a scarlet beast with seven heads and ten horns. The woman, referred to as the great harlot, represents a city that rules over the earth and its kings. She is dressed in fine clothing and jewels and holds a golden cup that represents the sins and immoral acts she has committed. The beast and the ten horns will turn against the woman, stripping her of her wealth and power and burning her with fire. The woman sits on many waters, which represent the peoples and nations over which she holds sway.
We’re Wrestling Who? - Ephesians 6:10-13David Turner
Our battles are not against flesh and blood. Our battles are against Principalities and Powers. These adversaries are much bigger than us and cannot be defeated by our own strength. In Ephesians 6:10-13 Paul identifies who we are really wrestling with and follows up with advice on how to compete to gain victory. For this and other PowerPoint Presentations go to www.Bibleguy.org.
The document summarizes four headlines that preview coming events in the Book of Revelation. It discusses the first headline of "God Judges Rome" involving angels reaping harvests to symbolize God's judgment. It then explains the second headline of "Babylon the Great Falls" and the symbols of grapes and wine representing judgment from the wicked perspective. The third and fourth headlines are also previewed. Seven angels are then introduced who will pour out seven plagues as God's wrath is finished, representing the impending judgments.
The document discusses how we can provoke God to jealousy by worshipping other gods or giving praise and glory to another instead of God alone. It says we become God's enemy if we do this and he will take vengeance. It provides examples from history of how people provoked God to jealousy through pagan worship of idols and images. It suggests this trend of paganism continues today through the worship and admiration of images, which it describes as a type of "imagination". The document warns that God hates wicked imaginations and calls the mindset of idolatry.
I Corinthians 14:37-38 God does not want us to be ignorant of concern for others, God's righteousness, the hardening of Israel, the possibility of our falling, spiritual gifts, what others do for us, Satan's Devices, the resurrection.
The document discusses the symbolic meaning and biblical references related to keys. It explains that keys represent the ability to seal, keep private, and open special things. It then cites several biblical passages where keys are mentioned. Specifically, it discusses Jesus having the "key of David" and giving Peter the "keys of the kingdom," representing their authority over the house of God and the ability to open the door of salvation to both Jews and Gentiles. It provides examples from the book of Acts of how Peter and Paul used these keys to spread the gospel. The document also discusses the concepts of "binding and loosing" or "remitting and retaining" sins based on several New Testament passages.
The document discusses the remnant church and its mission. It defines the remnant as those who keep God's commandments and have faith in Jesus during a time of widespread apostasy. The remnant's mission is to proclaim the arrival of judgment, salvation through Christ, and Christ's second coming. This proclamation coincides with judgment in heaven and repentance on earth, as symbolized by the three angels' messages in Revelation 14. The remnant heralds the establishment of God's kingdom and new heaven/earth. All believers are called to participate in this global witness.
It should be our desire to please God, but how do we please God? God wants you forgive your sins. God wants you to believe in Him and trust Him. God wants you to do his will. God wants you to follow Him. God wants you to forsake all for him. God wants you to be in heaven with Him.
What is the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Why is proclaiming the Gospel of Christ necessary? What are some reactions you have had when you shared the Gospel? Why do many people react negatively to the Gospel of Christ? (John 6:60-66; Mark 6:1-6)
Put On Righteousness - Ephesians 6:14bDavid Turner
We cannot clothe ourselves in our personal righteousness, because any righteousness we have in ourselves falls short of God's standard of righteousness. Instead, we must shield our hearts with the righteousness of Christ. We are declared righteous because of his righteousness, not because of anything in ourselves. The passage describes a scene in heaven where the Lamb (Jesus Christ) takes a sealed book from the one sitting on the throne. The four living creatures and 24 elders fall down before the Lamb and sing a new song praising him for being slain and purchasing people for God with his blood. They acknowledge him as making the redeemed people a kingdom and priests to God. A great multitude of angels join in worshipping the Lamb for being worthy to receive power, riches, wisdom and other attributes. All of creation is described as praising God and the Lamb forever.
Similar to Revelation Part 14 - The Church in Philadelphia (20)
The passage discusses how through faith in Jesus Christ, believers have peace with God and access to his grace. It notes that believers find hope in suffering because it produces endurance, character and ultimately more hope, since God's love has been poured into their hearts by the Holy Spirit.
The fifth angel sounds his trumpet, releasing locusts from the bottomless pit upon the earth. The locusts are given power to torment people for five months but not kill them, causing them to seek death but be unable to find it. Though the locusts plague the people, they do not repent of their sins. The locusts have a king over them, the angel of the abyss, named Abaddon or Apollyon in Hebrew and Greek. This is the first of three woes described in Revelation.
The document summarizes the events of the second, third, and fourth trumpets from Revelation 8:8-13. It describes a great mountain burning and being thrown into the sea, turning a third of the sea to blood and destroying sea life and ships (second trumpet). It then describes a great star falling from heaven and poisoning a third of rivers and springs, making the water undrinkable (third trumpet). Finally, it tells of a third of the sun, moon, and stars being struck so that a third of light from them was darkened (fourth trumpet). Biblical references are provided for further context.
The document describes events from the book of Revelation chapter 8. When the seventh seal is broken, there is silence in heaven. Seven angels are given seven trumpets. Another angel offers incense and prayers to God. The angel throws the censer to the earth, causing natural disasters. The first angel sounds his trumpet, and hail, fire and blood are thrown to the earth, burning up a third of the earth's surface.
Revelation 6:9-17, Lesson 21 the Fifth & Sixth Sealsblackforestchapel
The document describes events that occur when the fifth and sixth seals of Revelation are broken. It summarizes:
1) When the fifth seal is broken, John sees the souls of martyrs under the altar who cry out for vengeance. They are given white robes and told to rest until more martyrs are killed.
2) When the sixth seal is broken, there is a great earthquake, the sun turns black, the moon red, stars fall, and mountains move. People hide in caves and rocks, crying out for the mountains to fall on them to escape God's wrath.
3) These events parallel other biblical passages describing the tribulation, darkness, shaking of heavens and earth, and people seeking
The document discusses the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse described in Revelation 6:1-8. It summarizes that the first horseman represents conquest on a white horse, the second represents war on a red horse, the third represents famine on a black horse, and the fourth represents death on a pale horse, followed by Hades. The horsemen are part of the judgments that will befall the earth during the end times tribulation period described in Revelation.
The document discusses what the world would be like without God and Jesus Christ. It suggests that without God there would be no forgiveness, hope, kindness or love between people. The world would essentially be like "hell" without the presence of God and the salvation offered through Jesus. Several Bible verses are referenced that discuss mankind's sinful nature and need for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
The document discusses who Jesus is according to the Bible. It summarizes that Jesus is the Lord God Almighty, the Savior of the world, the Messiah, the Lord of all creation, the Son of God, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
The document discusses tithing and giving to the church. It provides biblical references that talk about giving a tenth of what one produces or owns to God. It also discusses passages in 2 Corinthians that encourage believers to give generously from what they have been given. The document emphasizes that tithing is about commitment to God's mission rather than personal finances or circumstances. It concludes by stating the vision for Black Forest Chapel is to worship and proclaim Christ to the community through preaching, worship, fellowship, and witness.
The document describes John's vision of the throne room in heaven as described in Revelation 4-5. In his vision, John sees a door standing open in heaven and is called up to see what will take place. He sees God sitting on a throne that resembles jasper and sardius stones, surrounded by a rainbow. Around the throne are 24 other thrones where 24 elders sit wearing white garments and golden crowns.
The seven sealed scroll in Revelation 5 represents a deed of redemption. Each seal that is broken reveals what must occur for the kinsman redeemer to repossess what was lost. No one was found worthy to open the scroll until the Lion from the tribe of Judah, Jesus Christ, was revealed as having overcome sin and death to redeem mankind. Jesus is described as both the sacrificial Lamb that was slain, referring to his first coming, and the Lion referring to his second coming as sovereign judge.
This document discusses the importance of faith and being spiritually awake. It references several Bible passages about waking up from spiritual slumber. It warns that non-believers are asleep without faith and believers can have a dead faith if they are not vigilant. The document encourages readers to revive their faith and be purified so they are holy in the sight of God.
This message reviews some of the common ways in which Christians drift from the correct interpretation of the commands in scripture, and why the correct interpretation is cause for a joyful and fulfilling life in Christ.

A375 Example Taste the taste of the Lord, the taste of the Lord The taste of...franktsao4
It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375
