Ephesians 5, Our Walk, He gave Himself up for us, God's Wrath, Children of the Devil, exposed by the light, be filled with the Spirit, Submit to one another, Ss.
The document discusses what it means to walk in love according to passages from Psalms, Ephesians, and Galatians. It says to walk in love one must not follow the ungodly but instead find delight in God's word. We are called to imitate Christ and his sacrificial love by keeping ourselves pure and walking wisely as children of light. We should submit to one another through mutual love and respect between husbands and wives, just as the church submits to Christ.
CHRISTIAN SUPERNATURAL TEACHINGS, BIBLE CLASS LESSONS, GOSPELS BY LEADER OLUMBA OLUMBA OBU, THE SUPERNATURAL TEACHER AND SOLE SPIRITUAL HEAD, BROTHERHOOD OF THE CROSS AND STAR
The document discusses the book with seven seals from the book of Revelation. It contains prophecies about world history and God's plans for redemption. When no one was found worthy to open it, Christ prevailed as the Lion of Judah and opened the seals, revealing truth that had been hidden by traditions and misinterpretations of scripture. His teachings countered error and brought light to humanity. The seven seals contain symbolic revelations about the major events in the unfolding of God's plans and the history of the world from the time of Christ to the end.
This document provides a summary of Ephesians 5:1-7 regarding imitating God and avoiding immoral behavior. It makes three key points:
1) Children of God should imitate their heavenly Father by focusing on God's love and following Christ's example of sacrifice.
2) Children of God should not behave like "children of disobedience" by engaging in immorality, impurity, greed or crude speech. Such behavior is inconsistent with God's kingdom.
3) Those who behave immorally, through sexual sin or idolatry, will not inherit God's kingdom and invite his wrath. Christians should therefore not partner or associate with those living immoral lifestyles.

The Word of God about His coming, as the lightning that comes out from the eastBilly Dean
„Oh, how mysterious is the mystery of My word, which today is being born in you, Romania country! Like the lighting, which comes from the East and appears in the West, (Published also on the Internet, r.n.) is My mystery, and no one can crush it, as this is My coming, and who can prevail against My coming?”
The readings discuss the work of the Holy Spirit and waiting on the Lord. Isaiah 12 speaks of trusting in God, who is our strength and salvation. James 1 emphasizes hearing and doing God's word with meekness. John 16 has Jesus promising to send the Holy Spirit as the Helper, who will convict the world of sin and guide believers into all truth. Those who wait on the Lord and trust in His strength will be strengthened by the Holy Spirit.

This document provides a summary of Revelation chapter 3 verses 1-6, which describes Jesus' message to the church in Sardis. It says the church had a reputation of being alive spiritually but was actually dead. Jesus tells them to wake up, remember what they had received, keep it, and repent of their lack of good works. He warns that if they do not watch diligently, he will come unexpectedly as a thief. However, a few in Sardis had remained faithful by not defiling their garments. Jesus promises the faithful that they will walk with him in white and he will confess their names before God.

The document discusses God as the fulfiller of prophecies and executor of his will. It asserts that God's name is "the Decider and the Executor, the Speaker and the Planner and the One Who Fulfills." It states that from Genesis to Revelation, every prophecy and plan of God has been carried out to honor his name alone, not because of human worthiness. God does all things according to his pleasure and laid down plans.
Israel, son, there is not much and your eyes will see My face and your mouth will speak with My mouth and My mouth will speak to you: “Come after, you good and faithful servant!”
This document provides commentary on Psalm 27:8. It discusses seeking the face of God through prayer, meditation on scripture, and going to the house of God. It argues that while we cannot see God the Father or the Holy Spirit, we can see God through Jesus, as Jesus reveals God's loving face to humanity. The commentary explores what it means to seek God's face both in the present through spiritual disciplines and eternally in heaven.
The Word of God about antichrist and the apocalyptic beastBilly Dean
… Keep in mind for that man, the antichrist, will come before you and will say: “I am the antichrist and this world is going with me.” Know, Christian, even if you are no longer living, you will see him, for no one will have the end before your resurrection, so that the dead and the living may see the antichrist.
The document summarizes the seven churches of Revelation mentioned in the Bible: Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. For each church, it outlines the attributes of Christ mentioned, positives and negatives about each church, Christ's counsel, warnings, and rewards for overcoming. The overall pattern discussed includes an attribute of Christ, pros and cons of each church, Christ's counsel/warnings, messages to the churches, and rewards for conquering.

This document discusses the concept of slavery from a Christian perspective. It examines multiple passages from the Bible that describe believers as slaves or servants to various masters, including righteousness, sin, false gods, money, and the law. The document then focuses on Ephesians 6:5-9, which instructs Christian slaves to obey their earthly masters and Christian masters to stop threatening slaves. It emphasizes that both slaves and masters serve the same heavenly master and will be judged equally by God. Overall, the document explores what it means for Christians to be slaves or servants both spiritually and in earthly social relationships.
Leaflet - St Barnabas on the Danforth - 7 July 2013stbarnabastoronto
This document provides details for services at St. Barnabas on the Danforth church on July 7, 2013, including readings, hymns, prayers and other parts of the services. The 9:00 AM service follows the Book of Alternative Services and includes a reading from 2 Kings about Naaman being healed of leprosy. The 10:30 AM sung service uses the Book of Common Praise and has readings from 2 Kings and Galatians, and the Gospel is from Luke about sending out the seventy. Both services celebrate communion and include prayers, hymns and a homily.
1. The prophet Isaiah has a vision of God on his throne surrounded by angels calling out his holiness.
2. Isaiah acknowledges his own unworthiness and sinfulness in God's presence.
3. Isaiah volunteers in response to God's call for someone to bring his message to the people.
The Gospel passage describes Jesus' third appearance to his disciples after his resurrection. While fishing, the disciples do not recognize Jesus standing on the shore until he instructs them to cast their net on the right side of the boat, catching many fish. Jesus then cooks breakfast for them and asks Peter three times if he loves him, instructing Peter to feed and tend his sheep. The passage emphasizes Jesus revealing himself after resurrection and commissioning Peter to lead his followers.

The document discusses exhortations about properly understanding the Book of Revelation. The first exhortation is to not miss Jesus as the central focus of Revelation. While people may catch other details, missing Jesus would miss the entire purpose. The second exhortation is to not miss how Revelation shows Jesus' love for the lost and desire to save humanity. The third exhortation is to not miss Jesus' continuing love and care for his church, which Revelation also emphasizes.

The Sixth Sunday of Easter readings focus on the theme of prayer and the Father answering our prayers because of Jesus. In John 16:23-33, Jesus promises that whatever we ask the Father in His name, He will give it to us because Jesus has overcome the world. 1 Timothy 2:1-6 encourages prayers for all people, including those in authority, so that Christians may live peaceful lives and more people may come to know the truth. Like the Israelites who looked to the bronze serpent to be healed of snakebites, Christians look to Jesus to be healed of sin and death. Through faith in Christ, the Father answers our prayers.

The document describes Isaiah's call to be a prophet. Isaiah saw a vision of God on his throne surrounded by angels calling "Holy, holy, holy." This vision humbled Isaiah and made him aware of his own sinfulness. A seraphim touched Isaiah's lips with a burning coal, cleansing him of sin. When God asked "Whom shall I send?" Isaiah responded "Here am I, send me." This vision and call strengthened Isaiah for his prophetic ministry of over 60 years, bringing messages of salvation for all people.
Israel was on a downward spiral throughout the time of the Judges. Repentance always brought deliverance, but backsliding brought trouble and bondage. The first deliverer was Othniel.
The document provides a summary of the Bible readings for Trinity 5: Jesus Makes Fishers of Men. It includes summaries of passages from 1 Kings 19:11-21 about Elijah passing his mantle to Elisha; 1 Corinthians 1:18-25 about how God uses what seems foolish to save believers; 1 Peter 3:8-15 about suffering for doing right and being ready to explain your faith; and Luke 5:1-11 which describes how Jesus calls Simon Peter and others to become fishers of men after a miraculous catch of fish. The overall message is about how Jesus calls believers to follow him and share the gospel with others.
This document provides guidance on keeping one's heart and mind focused on positive things. It discusses 8 guidelines from Philippians 4:8 on thinking about whatever is true, honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, and praiseworthy. It cautions against dwelling on negative thoughts and having preconceived notions without facts. The document also discusses the "Jonah syndrome" of being displeased with God's mercy and the parable of the prodigal son, contrasting the elder brother's lack of joy at his return.
"For all have sinned" the Apostle Paul said. He meant ALL! That means that everyone is in need of a savior and Jesus shed His blood to be that savior. Salvation is ONLY THROUGH JESUS - He's the only one who died for you! You can be saved today!
This document examines the anatomy of the church body using scriptural references. It discusses how Christians are connected as members of Christ's body and should work together in unity. It also addresses potential health issues like false teachings, pride and discontent that can negatively impact the church if not properly addressed through truthful and loving rebuke as needed to maintain spiritual health and unity.
- The document is a sermon discussing the importance of unity, peace, and harmony within the church through being filled with the Holy Spirit and pleasing others rather than ourselves.
- It encourages readers to focus on God, submit to the Holy Spirit, and be constantly reminded of biblical truths in order to produce goodness, knowledge, and gentle admonishment of one another.
- Salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ and being sanctified by the Holy Spirit.
This document contains the order and prayers for a Catholic mass. It includes an entrance antiphon welcoming the Lord, prayers and responses between the priest and congregation, readings from scripture including Psalms and letters from Paul, a Gospel reading, recitation of the Apostle's Creed, and concluding prayers of the faithful for various intentions. The mass brings the congregation together in worship through scripture, prayer, and sacrament.
Put On Righteousness - Ephesians 6:14bDavid Turner
We cannot clothe ourselves in our personal righteousness, because any righteousness we have in ourselves falls short of God's standard of righteousness. Instead, we must shield our hearts with the righteousness of Christ. We are declared righteous because of his righteousness, not because of anything in ourselves. The document discusses spiritual "peak experiences" and their importance in a spiritual life with God. It describes research from psychologists Abraham Maslow and Vincent Crapanzano on peak experiences like rapture and ecstasy. These experiences can impart a sense of the sacred and often involve manifestations of God's presence. They are also sometimes accompanied by a sense of calling or commissioning, as seen in biblical examples from Isaiah and D.L. Moody. While temporary, peak experiences can transform awareness and be foretastes of eternal glory.

The document discusses the importance of preparing for the coming crisis and tests of faith. It warns that temptation will overcome those who do not recognize their dependence on God. True conversion means having a changed heart, mind, and life, not just feelings. Youth are encouraged to resist evil through studying the Scriptures and seeking God daily in prayer. Relying on oneself instead of God leaves one vulnerable to Satan's deception.
The document provides an outline and discussion of the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit according to Christian doctrine. It discusses that the Holy Spirit is the author and interpreter of scripture, convicts sinners, regenerates believers, indwells believers, seals believers, endues with power, baptizes into the body of Christ, and guides believers. It also discusses sins that can be committed against the Holy Spirit, including resisting, despising, blaspheming, grieving, quenching, and lying to the Holy Spirit.

This document provides a summary of the key points from the Septuagesima sermon on grace alone. It discusses how God provided water from the rock for the Israelites in the wilderness, showing his covenant mercy and compassion. It notes how Paul warns that Israelites drank from the spiritual rock that was Christ, but many still lacked faith. The sermon emphasizes that good works cannot save and we are saved by grace alone through faith in Christ.
apparent contradiction in the bible Ahaziah.pdfBible Preaching
Ahaziah was anointed to be king of Judah at age 22 but did not sit on the throne until age 42. He was the son of Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, but also considered the son-in-law of Ahab, king of Israel, through marriage to one of Ahab's daughters or Jehoram's daughters. There is evidence that Ahaziah had a joint reign with both Jehoshaphat and Ahab prior to becoming sole king of Judah due to the political alliances between their kingdoms.

Isaac grows old and his eyes dim, so he asks his son Esau to hunt venison so he can bless him before death. Rebekah overhears and tricks Isaac into blessing Jacob instead by disguising him as Esau. When Esau discovers this, he vows to kill Jacob after Isaac's death. Rebekah sends Jacob away to her brother Laban's house to avoid Esau's wrath until his anger subsides. The document examines themes of sight, struggle, and separation within the passage and concludes that true comfort comes through sanctification by the Holy Spirit rather than human schemes.
Isaac sowed crops and received a hundredfold return, prospering greatly with flocks, herds, and servants. However, the Philistines grew envious and stopped up wells dug by Isaac's father. Abimelech told Isaac to leave, so he moved and redug the wells, persevering despite opposition. Through patience, diligence, and recognizing God's blessings, Isaac retained prosperity and found peace at Rehoboth. The document examines the proper means to prosperity through effort, God's favor, enduring hardship patiently, and gratitude.

This document discusses the life of Isaac based on passages from the Bible. It is divided into three sections:
I. Leaving - Discussing Isaac after the death of his father Abraham.
II. Receiving - How God blessed Isaac after Abraham's death.
III. Residing - Mentions Isaac resided by the well Lahairoi, the same place where Hagar met an angel and where Isaac lived when he married Rebekah.
The document uses Isaac's life to draw parallels about having strength in times of loss and how God provides for those who trust in him.

The document discusses the importance and power of God's word as revealed in scripture. It notes that the disciples could relate their eyewitness experience of Jesus' transfiguration on the Mount because they had God's word in writing to back up their testimony. It then provides numerous Bible verses emphasizing that the word of God is perfect, eternal, a light, spirit, judge, saves souls, true, faithful, settled in heaven, should not be blasphemed, pure, and holy.
Rebekah is presented as a type of the Christian church in the Old Testament. Some key points:
1) Rebekah is a Gentile who marries Isaac, representing Christians (Gentiles) joining with Christ (promised seed).
2) She is called out of her homeland and family to follow Abraham's servant to marry Isaac, representing Christians being called out of the world.
3) She believes and follows in faith without seeing Isaac first, representing the Christian's faith in an unseen God.
4) She accepts the proposal brought to her by Abraham's servant, representing Christians accepting the offer of salvation brought by the Holy Spirit.
5) The gifts given to her fore
The document argues that the overturning of Roe v. Wade highlights the need to abstain from premarital sex or "fornication" as commanded in the Bible. It provides several biblical passages from Acts, 1 Corinthians, Ephesians, Colossians, 1 Thessalonians, and Revelation that prohibit fornication and command believers to abstain from it. The document claims abstaining from fornication, rather than defending abortion rights, should be the focus for Christians in light of the new ruling.
This document discusses how one can prove their love for God through desire, obedience, and commitment. It examines several Bible passages to support this. Specifically, it argues that love for God is shown through: 1) Craving His word and hiding it in one's heart to avoid sin; 2) Compliance with His commands, as Jesus complied with the Father's command to lay down His life; and 3) Commitment to watch, pray, and follow God's word at all times, as Jesus was committed to the Father's commandment. The document concludes by summarizing that love for God is proven through desire for His word, demonstration of obedience to His commands, and determined commitment to follow His word.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

Woe, Lo, Go
1. Woe, Lo, Go
Isaiah 5, we will pick out the various woes
pronounced upon others.
Isa 5:8 Woe unto them that join house to house,
that lay field to field, till there be no place, that they
may be placed alone in the midst of the earth!
Isa 5:11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the
morning, that they may follow strong drink; that
continue until night, till wine inflame them!
Isa 5:18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with
cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope:
Isa 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and
good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for
darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for
bitter!
2. Isa 5:21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own
eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
It is easier to pronounce woes upon others, than reprove
one's self.
Observe the opening scenes of chapter 6.
Isa 6
1 In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord
sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train
filled the temple.
2 Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings;
with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered
his feet, and with twain he did fly.
3 And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is
the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
Then it was that Isaiah cried, "Woe is me"!
Isa 6
5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a
man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of
unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the LORD
of hosts.
3. When we see the holiness of God, the "woe is me" is sure
to follow.
What we need today is to see our own needs, to
confess our own sins.
We need to be cleansed from sins and made ready for
service in behalf of all who need our help.
"Are you sitting idle? Still there's work to do;
In the Master's vineyard there's a place for you;
Be a faithful servant, ever ready stand,
Where the Master calls you--lend a helping hand!"
I. Woe! the Cry of the Believer
Isa 6:5 Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone;
because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in
the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes
have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.
4. In the 5th chapter of Isaiah, the Prophet had
pronounced a succession of woes against others.
In the 6th chapter the Prophet sa, "the Lord sitting
upon a throne, high and lifted up".
Above the throne stood the seraphim, and they cried
one to another saying: "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord
of Hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory".
Then Isaiah cried: "Woe is me! for I am undone".
When Christians get a vision of God and of His
holiness- they get a vision of their own
unworthiness.
It is a good thing for saved people to realize their
shortcomings.
There are many who are powerless and without any
desire for fellowship with God. Many believers have
a form of Godliness, but they know nothing of its
power; they come before the Lord as the people
come, and they worship as the people worship; the
5. words of the minister are to them as a pleasant
sound, as of one who has a pleasing voice.
They hear God's Word, but they do it not.
They worship with their lips, but their hearts are far
from Him.
Saddest of all, many of these prayerless, burden-
less, and worshipless saints have no sense of lack;
they seem wholly oblivious to the fact that they are
living far from God.
The story of Isaiah brings before us the hour when a
believer is fully awakened to his need, and when
he cries, "Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am
a man of unclean lips". There is one supreme
precedent for betterment, and that is a sense of
lack.
The believer must first understand his true state of
heart, before he will seek for better things.
Where there is no sickness, there is no need of a
physician.
6. Where there is no sense of sin, there is no true
repentance.
It is necessary for one to realize his weariness before
he seeks rest; his thirst, before he seeks water; his
hunger, before he seeks food.
It is a happy day when the Christian sees the Lord,
high and lifted up, and begins to realize his own
uncleanness. Then he can sing:
"Lord lift me up, and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven's table land;
A higher plane than I have found,
Lord, place my feet on higher ground."
Woe! the Cry of the Believer
II. Woe! the Cry of the Unbeliever
7. John 16:8 And when he is come, he will reprove the
world of sin, and of righteousness, and of
judgment:
We need to pray for the old-time conviction of sin among
the lost, as well as among the saved.
On Pentecost, following the message of Peter, the
people cried aloud, saying: "Men and brethren,
what shall we do"? It is the mighty power of the
Holy Spirit as He convicts the world of sin.
The unsaved world is rushing so rapidly down the
river of pleasures,
that they have no time to think; they are lost in the
rapids of careless living.
The unsaved are so engrossed with the cares of the
world;
They are so engulfed in the pursuit of business; that
they have no time for God or His Word.
8. If Patrick Henry were here today no doubt he would
preach:
Is TV or Technology so dear,
As to be blinded by their chains,
Forbid it Almighty God,
I know not what course others may take,
But as for me,
Give me God’s Word for life and for death.
No room no room for Him
No room to let Him in
No room for Jesus
In the world He made no room
No room for the King of kings
Room for others and for other things
No rooms for Jesus
In the world He made no room
Room for houses lands and pleasures
Room for things that pass away
But for the One who reigns forever
There's no room today
9. What the heavy laden need today, is a vision of the
Lord, high and lifted up; then, and only then, will he
cry: "Woe is me! for I am undone".
The Holy Spirit is convicting the world of sin,
because Christ has gone to the Father and is
glorified.
"Fairest flowers soon decay,
Youth and beauty pass away;
Oh, you have not long to stay:
Be on time!
"While God's Spirit bids you come,
Sinner, do not longer roam,
Lest you seal your hopeless doom:
Be on time!
"Time is gliding swiftly by,
Death and judgment draweth nigh,
10. To the arms of Jesus fly:
Be on time!"
Woe! the Cry of the Believer
Woe! the Cry of the Unbeliever
III. Lo! is the Answer of Christ
Isa 6:7 And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo,
this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken
away, and thy sin purged.
When Isaiah cried, "Woe", then the Lord
responded: "Lo". The "lo" bears with it the
willingness of God to forgive confessed sin.
1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from
all unrighteousness.
In response to the Prophet's cry of contrition, an
Angel took the tongs, and securing a live coal from
11. off the altar, touched the Prophet's lips, and said:
"Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is
taken away, and thy sin purged".
The altar is a reminder of the Blood of Christ. It is
the Blood of the Lord Jesus that washes away our
sin.
Rev 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest.
And he said to me, These are they which came out
of great tribulation, and have washed their
robes, and made them white in the blood of the
Lamb.
We too, no matter how guilty, can find a whiteness,
whiter than snow, through the cleansing power of
Calvary.
The fire from the altar represents the purifying
power of the Spirit.
The Holy Ghost is "a fire." He can give victory in life.
He can take the lips purged by the Blood and make
them lips full of power.
12. Fire, in the Word of God, is not only the symbol of
cleansing and of power, but also of illumination.
The one who is touched with the Spirit of God, will find
a new cleansing, a new power and a new vision
manifested in his life.
Again, when the fire of the Altar touches our lips, all
fear of man will be removed.
Peter, before Pentecost, denied his Lord, saying with
an oath: "I know not this Man". Peter, after
Pentecost, faced the multitude and cried: "Ye have
taken, and by wicked hands have crucified".

Woe! the Cry of the Unbeliever
Lo! is the Answer of Christ
IV. Go! God's Call to the Individual
13. Isa 6:9 And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye
indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but
perceive not.
Follow the progression:
First, it was "Woe!"
There was the "Woe" of sin.
Second, it was "Lo!"
There was the "Lo" of cleansing.
Now, it is "Go!"
There is the "Go" of service.
Acts 6:3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among
you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy
Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over
this business.
14. The order of these words can never be reversed. God
never calls any one to do work for Him until that one
is clean.
The Holy Spirit said: "Look ye out among you seven
men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and
wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business".
God has no place in His Church for the unclean to
serve.
Isa 52:11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from
thence, touch no unclean thing; go ye out of the
midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of
the LORD.
This is the Master's command.
It is the vessel which is clean and sanctified that is
made meet for the Master's use.
God is far more careful about clean lips and pure
hearts, than He is about gifted lips and wise hearts.
15. David realized this truth when he said, "Create in me
a clean heart * * renew a right spirit within me * *
then will I teach transgressors Thy ways; and sinners
shall be converted unto Thee" (Psa 51:10, Psa 51:13).
Illustration: The little girl who saw her mamma
fretting about home, soon after she had returned
from church, said, "Mamma, I don't see it does you
any good to go to church, for when you get home,
you are just as worried as you were before you
went." The little girl was not deceived by her
mother's professed piety.
Your walk talks,
And your talk, talks,
But your walk talks louder
Than your talk, talks.
16. Woe! the Cry of the Believer
Woe! the Cry of the Unbeliever
Lo! is the Answer of Christ
Go! God's Call to the Individual
V. Go! God's Command to His Church
Matt 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the
Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
God's call to sinners, = "Come."
God's command to His Church, = "Go."
"Go ye into all the world" and make disciples.
2Cor 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them
that are lost:
Illustration: A man came to the minister's house and
asked his little girl if her papa was at home. The little
darling looked up into the man's face and she said:
17. "No, my papa is not home, but if you want some one
to pray for you, I 'spect I could do that as well as my
papa."
You may not all be able to stand in a pulpit and
preach;
You may not be able to expound the deep truths of
Gods word;
But You can pray, and You can go with God’s
word to some individual (it’s all written down for
you).
Woe! the Cry of the Believer
Woe! the Cry of the Unbeliever
Lo! is the Answer of Christ
Go! God's Call to the Individual
Go! God's Command to His Church
VI. Lo! God's Promise of Aid
18. Matt 28:20 Teaching them to observe all things
whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am
with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
Amen.
First, there was the -"Woe" of acknowledged sin.
Then the response -"Lo" of cleansing.
Then God's question -"Who will go"?
Then God's command--"Go."
And now there is another "Lo!"
The first "Lo" was the "lo" of cleansing.
This is the "lo" of assurance. "Lo, I am with you
alway".
When Christ gave this promise to His disciples, He
meant far more than sympathy.
Our Lord was about to ascend to the Father's right
hand, far above all principalitiesand powers.
Knowing fully what all of this meant, He said to His
19. disciples, "All power is given unto Me; * * Go * *
and, lo, I am with you".
Christ tells us:
"I am a conqueror;
I am clothed with all authority: you need have no fear of
their faces.
I will link My omnipotence to your impotence;
I will clothe your nothing-ness with My almightiness;
I will supply your weakness with the might of My
power."
The ambassador for Christ does not need to be
afraid.
The ambassador to the nations of this world has
behind him the power of the country he
represents. The ambassador from Heaven has
behind him the power of God.
"Keep step with the Master, whatever betide;
20. Though dark be the pathway, keep close to your
Guide.
While foes are alluring, and danger is near,
When walking with Jesus, you've nothing to fear.
"Keep step with the Master, wherever you go;
Through darkness and shadow the way He will show,
The light of His presence your path will glow,
And make all the desert a garden of bloom.
"Keep step with the Master; nor halt by the way;
Whate'er He commands you, oh, haste to obey!
Arise at His bidding, press on in His might;
While walking with Jesus, you're sure to have might."
See the Woe of sin,
Receive the Lo of sanctification,
Obey the Lord’s command Go,
21. Remember Lo of companionship.
