Jesus Christ is described as the ‘morning star’ in 2 Peter 1:19 (phosphoros) and in Revelation 2:28 (aster proinos), and He identifies Himself as ‘the bright morning star’ (ho aster ho lampros ho proninos) in Revelation 22:16” (413).
He goes on to point out that this “star” symbolism reflects the Old Testament and inter-testament emphasis on the “celestial” nature of the coming Messiah (cf. Num. 24:17; Mal. 4:2).
William Barclay suggested several ideas. He thought the expression could signify the coming resurrection of the righteous. Just as the “morning star” breaks forth from the darkness of night, so the Lord’s people will break out of the darkness of the grave (1957, 67).
Later, however, he came to a different conclusion. He was “quite certain” that the “correct interpretation” is this. The “morning star” is Christ himself.

In Jude 17-23 Jude shifts from piling up examples of false teachers from the Old Testament to a series of practical exhortations that flow from apostolic instruction. He preserves for us what may well have been part of the apostolic catechism for the first generation of Christ-followers. In these instructions Jude exhorts the believer to deal with 3 different groups of people: scoffers who are "devoid of the Spirit", believers who have come under the influence of scoffers and believers who are so entrenched in false teaching that they need rescue and pose some real spiritual risk for the rescuer. In all of this Jude emphasizes Jesus' call to rescue straying sheep, leaving the 99 safely behind and pursuing the 1.
Homily: The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity Sunday 2024.docxJames Knipper
Countless volumes have been written trying to explain the mystery of three persons in one true God, leaving us to resort to metaphors such as the three-leaf clover to try to comprehend the Divinity. Many of us grew up with the quintessential pyramidal Trinity structure of God at the top and Son and Spirit in opposite corners. But what if we looked at this ‘mystery’ from a different perspective? What if we shifted our language of God as a being towards the concept of God as love? What if we focused more on the relationship within the Trinity versus the persons of the Trinity? What if stopped looking at God as a noun…and instead considered God as a verb? Check it out…

The Isaac Principal of
Life
Abraham passes from the scene,
being one of the most important men
of the Bible.
He is mentioned 70 times in the New
Testament alone.
Only Moses is mentioned more times
in the New Testament (80 times).
Isaac alone is the heir and the others
received only gifts.
So, Christ is the Heir of God and His
bride will be with him
far above all the earthly blessings of
the age to come.
Gen 25:11

death of Abraham,

thou strong therefore, and shew
thyself a man;
3) And keep the charge of the LORD
thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep
his statutes, and his commandments,
and his judgments, and his
testimonies, as it is written in the law
of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in
all that thou doest, and whithersoever

John 16:7
7) Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It
is expedient for you that I go away:
for if I go not away, the Comforter
will not come unto you; but if I depart,
I will send him unto you.
John 16:12

12) I have yet many things to say unto
you, but ye cannot bear them now.
John 16:20
20) Verily, verily, I say unto you, That
ye shall weep and lament, but the
world shall rejoice: and ye shall be
sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be
turned into joy.
John 16:22
22) And ye now therefore have
sorrow: but I will see you again, and
your heart shall rejoice, and your joy
no man taketh from you.
1Thess 4:13
13) But I would not have you to be
ignorant, brethren, concerning them
which are asleep, that ye sorrow not,
even as others which have no hope.

Isa 58:7-8
7) Is it not to deal thy bread to the
hungry, and that thou bring the poor
that are cast out to thy house? when
thou seest the naked, that thou cover
him; and that thou hide not thyself
from thine own flesh?
8) Then shall thy light break forth as

Isa 58:10-11
10) And if thou draw out thy soul to
the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted
soul; then shall thy light rise in
obscurity, and thy darkness be as the

11) And the LORD shall guide thee
continually, and satisfy thy soul in

thou shalt be like a watered garden,

6) For unto us a child is born, unto us

2Cor 12:9
9) And he said unto me, My grace is
