3. The intercession of Christ in
man's behalf in the sanctuary
above is as essential to the
plan of salvation as was His
death upon the cross. By His
death He began that work
which after His resurrection
He ascended to complete in
heaven. We must by faith
enter within the veil, "whither
the forerunner is for us
entered." Heb. 6:20. There the
light from the cross of
Calvary is reflected. There we
may gain a clearer insight
into the mysteries of
redemption.

6. As the prophet Isaiah beheld the
glory of the Lord, he was amazed,
and, overwhelmed with a sense of
his own weakness and
unworthiness, he cried, "Woe is me!
for I am undone; because I am a man
of unclean lips, and I dwell in the
midst of a people of unclean lips: for
mine eyes have seen the King, the
Lord of Hosts." Isaiah had
denounced the sin of others; but
now he sees himself exposed to the
same condemnation he had
pronounced upon them. He had been
satisfied with a cold, lifeless
ceremony in his worship of God. He
had not known this until the vision
was given him of the Lord. How little
now appeared his wisdom and
talents as he looked upon the
sacredness and majesty of the
sanctuary. How unworthy he was!

7. His view of himself might be
expressed in the language of the
apostle Paul, "O wretched man that I
am! who shall deliver me from the
body of this death?" But relief was
sent to Isaiah in his distress. [Isa. 6:6,
7 quoted.] . . . The vision given to
Isaiah represents the condition of
God's people in the last days. They are
privileged to see by faith the work that
is going forward in the heavenly
sanctuary. "And the temple of God
was opened in heaven, and there was
seen in his temple the ark of his
testament." As they look by faith into
the holy of holies, and see the work of
Christ in the heavenly sanctuary, they
perceive that they are a people of
unclean lips,--a people whose lips
have often spoken vanity, and whose
talents have not been sanctified and
employed to the glory of God. {4BC

8. “That the saying of Esaias the prophet
might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord,
who hath believed our report? and to
whom hath the arm of the Lord been
revealed? Therefore they could not
believe, because that Esaias said again,
He hath blinded their eyes, and
hardened their heart; that they should
not see with their eyes, nor understand
with their heart, and be converted, and I
should heal them. These things said
Esaias, when he saw his glory, and
spake of him.

9. “And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou
unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, Because
it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of
heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him
shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever
hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Therefore
speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and
hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is
fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall
hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall
not perceive: For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears
are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any
time they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears, and
should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I
should heal them. But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and

10. This miracle, above any other he had
ever witnessed, was to him a
manifestation of divine power. In
Jesus he saw One who held all nature
under His control. The presence of
divinity revealed his own unholiness.
Love for his Master, shame for his
own unbelief, gratitude for the
condescension of Christ, above all,
the sense of his uncleanness in the
presence of infinite purity,
overwhelmed him. While his
companions were securing the
contents of the net, Peter fell at the
Saviour's feet, exclaiming, "Depart
from me; for I am a sinful man, O
Lord." It was the same presence of
divine holiness that had caused the
prophet Daniel to fall as one dead
before the angel of God. He said, "My
comeliness was turned in me into
corruption, and I retained no
strength." So when Isaiah beheld the
glory of the Lord, he exclaimed, "Woe

mine eyes have seen the King, the
Lord of hosts." Dan. 10:8; Isa. 6:5.
Humanity, with its weakness and sin,
was brought in contrast with the
perfection of divinity, and he felt
altogether deficient and unholy. Thus
it has been with all who have been
granted a view of God's greatness and
majesty. Peter exclaimed, "Depart
from me; for I am a sinful man;" yet he
clung to the feet of Jesus, feeling that
he could not be parted from Him. The
Saviour answered, "Fear not; from
henceforth thou shalt catch men." It
was after Isaiah had beheld the
holiness of God and his own
unworthiness that he was entrusted
with the divine message. It was after
Peter had been led to self-
renunciation and dependence upon
divine power that he received the call

12. And when the scribes
and Pharisees saw him
eat with publicans and
sinners, they said unto
his disciples, How is it
that he eateth and
drinketh with publicans

13. Isaiah 28:11-14, 18-19
And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book
(the word for book called also mean scroll or letter) that is sealed,
which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray
thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: And the book is
delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee:
and he saith, I am not learned. Wherefore the Lord said,
Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and
with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far
from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of
men: Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work
among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the
wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of
their prudent men shall be hid. (jumping 2 verse 18) 18And in that
day shall the deaf hear the words of the book, and the eyes of the
blind shall see out of obscurity, and out of darkness. The meek
also shall increase their joy in the LORD, and the poor among
men shall rejoice in the Holy One of Israel.

They cherished a spirit of
self-exaltation and self-
complacency, and made
comparisons among
themselves. When one of
them failed in any
particular, the others
indulged feelings of

16. The scribes and
Pharisees professed to
explain the Scriptures,
but they explained them
in accordance with their
own ideas and traditions.
Their customs and
maxims became more
and more exacting. In its
spiritual sense, the
sacred Word became to
the people as a sealed
book, closed to their
comprehension.

17. When Christ came to this earth, the traditions that
had been handed down from generation to
generation, and the human interpretation of the
Scriptures, hid from men the truth as it is in Jesus.
The truth was buried beneath a mass of tradition.
The spiritual import of the sacred volumes was lost;
for in their unbelief men locked the door of the
heavenly treasure. Darkness covered the earth, and
gross darkness the people. Truth looked down from
heaven to earth; but nowhere was revealed the
divine impress. A gloom like the pall of death
overspread the earth But the Lion of the tribe of
Judah prevailed. He opened the seal that closed the
book of divine instruction. The world was permitted
to gaze upon pure, unadulterated truth. Truth itself
descended to roll back the darkness and counteract
error. A Teacher was sent from heaven with the
light that was to light every man that comes into the
world. There were men and women who were
eagerly seeking for knowledge, the sure word of
prophecy, and when it came, it was as a light
shining in a dark place. {Spalding and Magan 58.}

18. The Book With Seven Seals Contains the History of the World.-- "And I
saw in the right hand of Him that sat on the throne a book written
within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a
strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the
book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in
earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to
look thereon" (Revelation 5:1-3). There in His open hand lay the
book, the roll of the history of God's providences, the prophetic
history of nations and the church. Herein was contained the divine
utterances, His authority, His commandments, His laws, the whole
symbolic counsel of the Eternal, and the history of all ruling powers in
the nations. In symbolic language was contained in that roll the
influence of every nation, tongue, and people from the beginning
of earth's history to its close. This roll was written within and
without. John says: [Revelation 5:4, 5, 8-14; 6:8-11; 8:1-4; quoted.]
The same spirit is seen today that is represented in Revelation 6:6-8.
History is to be repeated. That which has been will be again

19. 1st Seal = Ephesus – Beginning of the Christian Church, symbolized here is the beginning
of ancient Israel's church, we know the Passover, lamb slain typified Christ, then led them
out to the wilderness where he gave them the law – law parallels Pentecost.
2nd Seal – Smyrna – Falling away, same with Israel, did not continue in the covenant.
3rd Seal – Pergamos - Balam and Balack, brought Moab woman to the camp, also
compromise with roman church, that woman jezebel where they allowed them to
incorporate some of their doctrines.
4th Seal – Thyatira, 1260 year papal persecution, not only illustrates jezebel’s history, but
the RC which represents Babylon, rev 17, mystery woman is also brought into view, we
know they went into captivity in Babylon for 70 years
5th Seal – Sardis, beheaded for the witness of our Lord Jesus, here you hear them cry
‘How long Lord should the saints continue to be beheaded’ this parallels the cry of Daniel
for his people in Dan 9 where he prays that magnificent prayer
6th Seal – Philadelphia parallels for Ancient Israel's history, Christ coming to the Jewish
Nation as prophesied by Daniel Chapter 9, Christ coming to ancient Israel was sixth for the
Jewish nation but 1st for the Christian church
7th Seal, Christ moves to the Holy Place. Remember probation had not fully closed to the
Jewish nation when he resurrected. It was only after stoning of Stephen – Sees Christ
standing on the right hand of the Father. Christ intercession in the Holy Place had already
began. For modern Israel, 7th
Seal begins with Christ's movement to Most Holy Place

20. In Isaiah 44:6-8
Thus saith the LORD the King of
Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of
hosts; I am the first, and I am the last;
and beside me there is no God. And
who, as I, shall call, and shall declare
it, and set it in order for me, since I
appointed the ancient people? and
the things that are coming, and shall
come, let them shew unto them. Fear
ye not, neither be afraid: have not I
told thee from that time, and have
declared it? ye are even my
witnesses. Is there a God beside me?
yea, there is no God; I know not any.

21. And when he had opened the seventh
seal, there was silence in heaven. And I
saw seven angels which stood before
God; and to them were given seven
trumpets. And another angel came and
stood at the alter, having a golden
censor; and there was given him much
incense that he should offer it with the
prayers of the saints upon the alter which
was before the throne. And the smoke of
the incense, which came with the prayers
of the saints, ascended up before God
out of the angel's hand. And the angel
took the censer, and filled it with fire of
the altar, and cast it into the earth: and

trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify

nations shall come and worship before
thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.

temple of the tabernacle of the

And the seven angels came out of the
temple, having the seven plagues, clothed
in pure and white linen, and having their
breasts girded with golden girdles.

wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever.
And the temple was filled with smoke from
the glory of God, and from his power; and
no man was able to enter into the temple,
till the seven plagues of the seven angels

22. And the rest of the men which were not killed by these

they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver

me, Seal up those things which the seven

and upon the earth lifted up his hand to
heaven, And sware by him that liveth for
ever and ever, who created heaven, and
the things that therein are, and the earth,
and the things that therein are, and the
sea, and the things which are therein, that
there should be time no longer:

24. The books of Daniel and the Revelation are one. One is
a prophecy, the other a revelation; one a book sealed,
the other a book opened. John heard the mysteries
which the thunders uttered, but he was commanded not
to write them.The special light given to John that
was expressed in the seven thunders was a
delineation of events which would transpire under
the first and second angels’ messages. It was not
best for the people to know these things, for their
faith must necessarily be tested. In the order of
God most wonderful and advanced truths must be
proclaimed. The first and second angels
messages must be proclaimed, but no further light
was to be revealed before these messages had
done their specific work” This is represented by
the angel standing with one foot on the sea,
proclaiming with a most solemn oath that time
should be no longer.

25. Colossians 1:26; 27
Even the mystery which hath been
hid from ages and from generations,
but now is made manifest to his
saints: To whom God would make
known what is the riches of the glory
of this mystery among the Gentiles;
which is Christ in you, the hope of
glory:

26. In the time of the Saviour, the Jews had
so covered over the precious jewels of
truth with the rubbish of tradition and
fable, that it was impossible to
distinguish the true from the false. The
Saviour came to clear away the rubbish of
superstition and long-cherished errors,
and to set the jewels of God's word in the
frame-work of truth. What would the
Saviour do if he should come to us now
as he did to the Jews? He would have to
do a similar work in clearing away the
rubbish of tradition and ceremony. The
Jews were greatly disturbed when he did
this work. They had lost sight of the
original truth of God, but Christ brought it
again to view. It is our work to free the
precious truths of God from superstition
and error. What a work is committed to us
in the gospel

27. Those who rejected the testimony of John were not benefited by the teachings of
Jesus. Their opposition to the message that foretold His coming placed them
where they could not readily receive the strongest evidence that He was the
Messiah. Satan led on those who rejected the message of John to go still farther,
to reject and crucify Christ. In doing this they placed themselves where they could
not receive the blessing on the day of Pentecost, which would have taught them
the way into the heavenly sanctuary. Many look with horror at the course of the
Jews in rejecting and crucifying Christ; and as they read the history of His
shameful abuse, they think they love Him, and would not have denied Him as did
Peter, or crucified Him as did the Jews. But God who reads the hearts of all, has
brought to the test that love for Jesus which they professed to feel. All heaven
watched with the deepest interest the reception of the first angel's message. But
many who professed to love Jesus, and who shed tears as they read the story of
the cross, derided the good news of His coming. Instead of receiving the message
with gladness, they declared it to be a delusion. They hated those who loved His
appearing and shut them out of the churches. Those who rejected the first
message could not be benefited by the second; neither were they benefited by the
midnight cry, which was to prepare them to enter with Jesus by faith into the
most holy place of the heavenly sanctuary. And by rejecting the two former
messages, they have so darkened their understanding that they can see no light
in the third angel's message, which shows the way into the most holy place.

28. The book that was sealed was not the book of Revelation, but that
portion of the prophecy of Daniel which related to the last days.
The Scripture says, 'But thou, 0 Daniel, shut up the words, and
seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and
fro, and knowledge shall be increased.' Daniel 12:4. When the
book was opened, the proclamation was made, 'Time shall be no
longer.' See Revelation 10:6. The book of Daniel is now unsealed,
and the revelation made by Christ to John is to come to all the
inhabitants of the earth.
By the increase of knowledge a people is to be prepared to

29. For His church in every generation God has a special truth and a
special work. The truth that is hid from the worldly wise and
prudent is revealed to the child-like and humble. It calls for self-
sacrifice. It has battles to fight and victories to win. At the outset
its advocates are few. By the great men of the world and by a
world-conforming church, they are opposed and despised. See
John the Baptist, the forerunner of Christ, standing alone to
rebuke the pride and formalism of the Jewish nation. See the first
bearers of the gospel into Europe. How obscure, how hopeless,
seemed the mission of Paul and Silas, the two tentmakers, as
they with their companions took ship at Troas for Philippi. See
"Paul the aged," in chains, preaching Christ in the stronghold of
the Caesars. See the little communities of slaves and peasants in
conflict with the heathenism of imperial Rome. See Martin Luther
withstanding that mighty church which is the masterpiece of the
world's wisdom. See him holding fast God's word against
emperor and pope, declaring, "Here I take my stand; I can not do
otherwise. God be my help."

30. See Wesley preaching Christ and His righteousness in the
midst of formalism, sensualism, and infidelity. See one
burdened with the woes of the heathen world, pleading for the
privilege of carrying to them Christ's message of love. Hear the
response of ecclesiasticism: "Sit down, young man. When God
wants to convert the heathen, He will do it without your help or
mine."
The great leaders of religious thought in this generation
sound the praises and build the monuments of those who
planted the seed of truth centuries ago. Do not many turn from
this work to trample down the growth springing from the same
seed today? The old cry is repeated, "We know that God spake
unto Moses; as for this fellow [Christ in the messenger He
sends], we know not from whence he is." John 9:29. As in
earlier ages, the special truths for this time are found, not with
the ecclesiastical authorities, but with men and women who are
not too learned or too wise to believe the word of God.

31. "For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men
after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called; but
God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the
wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to
confound the things which are mighty. And base things of the
world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea,
and things which are not, to bring to naught things that are" (1
Cor. 1:26-28); "that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of
men, but in the power of God" And in this last generation the
parable of the mustard seed is to reach a signal and triumphant
fulfillment. The little seed will become a tree. The last message
of warning and mercy is to go to "every nation and kindred and
tongue" (Rev. 14:6-14), "to take out of them a people for His
name" (Acts 15:14; Rev. 18:1). And the earth shall be lightened
