Evidence from the frontline of searching j clapton
Janet Clapton conducted research to analyze which bibliographic databases are most relevant for social care literature. She carried out a systematic search of 31 databases, labeling 500 references by their source. Her analysis found that references came from a variety of sources.
Clapton also recorded her experiences conducting this research project. She tracked 70 hours over 35 occasions spent on the project. Her results showed the importance of preparing literature reviews, analyzing data, and disseminating findings.
Based on her experience, Clapton provides tips for practitioner researchers, noting the importance of time management, doubling up work, and maintaining software and hardware.

[2] Analysis of the top 5 universities showed a 300% growth in articles published in Web of Science between 2000-2010. [3] Research areas of chemistry, physics and engineering represented 35% of total Portuguese articles, and international collaboration was strongest with the USA and Spain.

What is theory
Theory is a conceptual framework that simplifies reality to help us understand it. A theory contains key concepts, premises, definitional statements, propositions, hypotheses, and variables that have undergone scientific processes. Different theories explain different domains of reality and include hierarchy of motivation theory, social learning theory, and the theory of relativity. The units of a theory are analogous to parts of the human body that serve different functions in representing and explaining reality.

Identifying Tumor Permeability Heterogeneity with MRI Contrast Agents
We tested the hypothesis that macromolecular agents will have a greater sensitivity in identifying areas of high regional mammary tumor permeability-surface area products than low molecular weight agents. New modalities such as ultrasound, MRI, and nuclear medicine may improve breast cancer diagnosis(1). MRI can detect small tumors, 1 mm, with nearly 100% sensitivity(2) and can differentiate benign from malignant tumors with an accuracy of only 30 to 40%(3). A need exists for more accurately characterizing tumor specificity with MR mammography. Dynamic contrast enhanced MR mammography shows promise, and is based on differences in capillary density. Only a subset of tumor cells acquire angiogenic activity and this results in heterogeneous capillary density and surface area(4). High regional capillary density indicates poor prognosis(5). Tumor secreted factors induce angiogenesis, including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which is necessary for metastasis and regions high in VEGF exhibit hyperpermeability(6). Some of the physiological byproducts of angiogenesis regulate the extraction of an agent by a tumor from the blood. This extraction depends on (a) capillary surface area, S, (b) capillary permeability, P, (c) capillary blood flow, F, (d) transit time of the agent through the tumor interstitium, and (e) the plasma half-life, T1/2 DIST(7, 8). By imaging the time evolution of a contrast agent in the lesion, one can model agent extraction. Knowing the plasma half-life of an agent and regional blood flow provides a measure of the capillary surface area and permeability. Such knowledge may provide a means of differentiating benign from malignant tumors.

A generic framework for achieving high quality in a student’s performance
Abstract:
High school students are used to a certain way of working in a protective school environment, closely supervised by their teachers. The collaborative partnership between Mediterranean College and the University of Derby involves a transition to the more demanding academic environment, which requires certain skills and specific ways of operating and working. This includes the need to discover and acquire knowledge, but also to critically evaluate all the information that is offered to them and it demands a well-defined working framework. As students themselves begin to understand the academic demands of the modules, the role of the academic tutor is vital in showing the way to these students and helping them progress, up to the level where their work can even become part of the academic community by publication in a conference or journal. If these requirements are met, we can definitely have high expectation from nearly all of them. This workshop is led by Mediterranean College and involves participation by a Programme Leader and a group of students studying Business and Computing undergraduate and post graduate programmes.
