    ◦ Put into Project Meeting first week back when we
      close Fred’s Shed
 Overview of Time
 Gantt charts – what progress here?
 Attempted & Discussed Activities 1, 2, 3
 Read the question – then again.
    ◦ Look for PMBOK clues
    ◦ Process
    ◦ Inputs, Tools & Techniques, Outputs IN THIS ORDER
 Scope –
    ◦ authorisation process
    ◦ Critically important & don’t leave home without it
 Time –

    ◦ Don’t cripple project from start
    ◦ Don’t use up contingencies during planning stage

 Microsoft Project 2007
 1. Check title & date box
 Is this the correct
    ◦ Project
    ◦ Title
    ◦ Date – Start & finish – sensible?
    ◦ Version
 2. Check the timescale
    ◦ Does it make sense?
    ◦ Is it convenient/useful for your project?
 3. If M/S Project is this the Gantt chart view?
 4. Where & what are the milestones?
 5. Do you agree with the Tasks or activities
 6. Do these activities lead logically to the
    milestones?
 7. Where is the critical path?
 8. Is everything connected?
 9. Do any of the tasks sit out by
    themselves?
    ◦ If, so they don’t mean anything.
 10. If the tracking view
    ◦ Has this been baselined? Ie that is our starting point
      with planning
    ◦ What progress since beginning the project?
 11. Variances
    ◦ These are the gaps between what we planned &
      what is happening.
 12. Managing time or schedule
    ◦ Doing something in response to this variance
 How are your Gantt charts progressing?
 Please go through these 12 steps to
consider your charts – then submit
 Then we can consider the next
    assessment item
 First step in Time management plan
    assessment item
 What progress?
 What other stumbling blocks?
 Pick up from yesterday’s Gantt chart work
 Consider the scenario
 The variances
Morning tea

    Plan.
 Time management plan
 Keep it brief and similar to the scope
    management plan
 It is only setting up how you are going to
    manage the project.
 Think about what you need to tell the project
team & appropriate level of detail
 Your schedule should be reviewed at least

 Analyse the scenario provided & insert into
