Emotion Attribution Theory According To Schachter And Singer
Emotion Attribution Theory
According to Schachter and Singer (1962), emotion attribution theory is based on two factors of
emotions: physiological arousal and cognitive label. The two factor theory of emotion focuses on
the interaction between physical arousal and how we cognitively label that arousal. In their view,
being away from home and physical arousal may be interpreted as homesickness . The physical
arousal is the physical feeling for homesickness such as difficulty sleeping, loss of concentration, no
appetite and others. This theory then is extended by Pennebaker (1982) and be summarized. Firstly

(1997), acculturation is referred to the process of cultural and psychological change that results
following meeting between cultures. There are four types of acculturation which is assimilation,
integration, separation and marginalization. Firstly, assimilation is the process of adapting the
dominant culture over their original cultural. Next, integration is adopting the host or dominant
culture while maintaining the origin culture. Then, separation is the process of rejecting a
dominant culture in order to preserving their original culture. Lastly, marginalization is rejecting
both the culture of origin and the dominant host culture. Homesickness university students is in the
separation group because they are holding their original culture with is home is more comfortable
than the dominant culture (new environment).

Nationalism In The 19th Century
The course of global imperialism during the late 19th and early 20th century was a byproduct of the
development of nationalism, the expansion of industrialization, and shift toward Liberal values. In
the 18th and 19th century, nationalism was a sensation that national leaders and governments
utilized to unite its citizens under a single identity. The Industrial Revolutionwas a period of
tremendous technological and commercial growth that required the expansion of its market to
maintain its economic prosperity. In the 19th century, Liberalismquestioned old societal beliefs of
nobility, favoring instead a competitive free market economy that allows individuals to work
themselves up in society. Together, these factors helped set the socio economic... Show more content

Liberalism during the Industrial Revolution accentuated the value of individualism and advanced
by entrepreneurs to challenge the moral work ethics of old society for the sake of modernizing
society (Hawkins 4/11/17). Individualism prioritized the importance of one s personal liberties over
anything else and established a notion of equality under the law. This meant that anyone, regardless
of prior social status, could progress through society if he or she demonstrated a proper work ethic
of hard work, thriftiness, temperance, and perseverance. The implementation of Liberal work ethics
into the workplace would incite competition amongst individuals in urban cities. Liberalism
celebrated the competition between individuals in the workplace, as the ideology embraced the
notion that work merit and hard work should reward an individual socio economically (4/11/17).
The emphasize of the individual and the merit system initiated competition among coworkers, a
contest of which individual could raise above the overs to be recognized for their exemplary
demonstration of work ethics. This system of competition essentially constructed a society of
exclusion and inclusion; competition franchised those of worth, individuals with property, suffrage,
wealth, and suppressed those deemed unworthy. The cultural values of competition and

Too much risk can result in critical failure of the business and too little risk can reduce
competitiveness. Risk is the effect of uncertainty on objectives which have both positive and
negative effects. According to the ISO/IEC Guide 73, risks are the combination of the probability
of an event and its consequences which have the potential for benefits (upside) if managed
effectively, or the threat of success (downside) as a result of poor assessment and management.
Risks are a central part of any organisation s strategic management; it is suggested that the greater
the risk involved, the higher the return. However, this can only be managed by effective
identification and treatment of all perceivable risks. Risk management is a process that is
supported by a set of principles and structures that are appropriate to the organisation and its
external environment and requires a balance between the level of the risk in relation to the size,
nature and complexity of the organisation.

Jury Duty Essay
Serving on a jury is a civic duty and an American tradition. However, some people view jury duty
as a chore or as an event that negatively interrupts their lives. Some independent studies have
shown that even jury duty has a devastating effect on married life. Due to this and other extraneous
situations, there are only a few people who actually want to serve on a jury. This may lead to efforts
by potential jurors to, in some way get out of their duty in a jury. What we know of as the
current jury duty system should be changed so citizens are not forced to serve in this capacity
and can still be regarded as a responsible civilian. As per the status quo, a trial jury is a
constitutional right, a jury of ones peers or equals. However,... Show more content on

However when it is time to deliberate and come to an important verdict, these same people have a
hard time making impartial and fair decisions because the many prior misconceptions that they
possess. It is impossible for anyone to be completely impartial and fair, especially with inadequate
knowledge of the law. It can take only one partial, and unfair person to change the whole outcome
of the verdict.
Today, jurors sometimes leave courtrooms in tears after convicting people they believed were
morally (if not legally) innocent, or after witnessing the harsh sentences handed down by judges
at the sentencing phase of seemingly minor cases. That is exactly the sort of travesty trial by
jury was intended to prevent. If the law were just and justly applied, jurors would have no reason
to regret their verdicts, or the sentences that are meted out later by judges. (Trial by Jury Website)
This would seemingly encourage the American judicial system to adapt the jury system to meet
the needs of our current American society. It is unpleasant for the jurors to make very hard
choices concerning the lives of other fellow citizens. It is also hard for the persons who are
standing trial to know that their fate is going to rest with people with little or no knowledge of the
law.
The jury causes a great waste of time. It has been pointed out that a trial by jury usually requires
two to three times the amount of time

Comparing Ancient Greek Architecture, Doric, And...
As the saying goes, great art is mad with its own loveliness. Over the decades, Greek inspired
architecture has been seen all over the world. Ideas are often borrowed while constructing
buildings, monuments, and even houses. Greeks mostly used wood, limestone, unbaked bricks,
terracotta and metal for construction. Most architecture were inspired by religion, politics, and
form of recreation. Of all designs from Greek architecture three of them have withstood the test of
time and their application can be seen today. They include Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian order.
However, each order is distinct from the other and one cannot differentiate unless trained. This
paper will look at Doric and Corinthian orders while comparing and contrasting them. It will also
trace their prevalence and popularity throughout history.
Doric style of architecture has been the most famous. It is used all over the world today. It is
found in Parthenon and Acropolis and can be distinguished from other orders as it has vertical
column and a plain roof. Colonies of south Italy and Sicily have also used it. Doric order is,
however, the simplest. Roman Doric is the most common form today. This column consists of
around capital which has a narrow neckband. It has a shaft that may be plain or fluted and normally
rest on a base. Its entablature is structured to have a distinctive frieze with triglyphs which are an
upright projecting grooved panel. This triglyph is normally set in line with each column. There

of the most important reasons which made the music of hip hop spread at the Arab streets is a

Globalization And Its Effects On Society
Globalization can be described as the interaction and integration among the people, companies,
and governments of different nations (http://www.globalization101.org/what is globalization/).
For the past century, there have been countless debates over whether the effects of globalization
are positive or negative. The topic of globalization is seen as one of the most debatable topics in
our current society and is often discussed during political debates before elections. This paper
will focus on the negative effects of globalization and the chaotic impact it can have on countries
across the globe. Globalization is one of the main causes of the spread of infectious diseases that
can often lead to fatal outcomes and a sense of fear felt throughout an entire nation. Infectious
diseases are the leading cause of death among children and adolescents, and are one of the leading
causes of death among adults (Infectious disease: a persistent threat). Examples of these infectious
diseases that became widespread due to globalization include: the Bubonic Plague, Measles,
Smallpox, Malaria, Tuberculosis, and most recently, the Ebola virus of 2014. All of these diseases
were direct results of globalization, caused millions of deaths, and established a state of panic
within the countries affected.
Globalization can contribute to the spread of disease in many different ways. The main way
globalization facilitates the spread of disease is through trade between countries. Trade is a major

The standard rifle of the British army during World War I was the Lee Enfield .303, a variation

Midsummer Night s Dream Contrast
A Midsummer nights Dream is known as one of Shakespeare s most popular and most performed
plays worldwide. Although there are many versions of the play, they tend to stay true to the original
characters, setting, and them. However in Michael Hoffman s 1999 film version of A Midsummer
Night s Dream, he breaks the traditional rules by first changing the setting. Hoffman sends the
comedic action from ancient Athens to an imaginary Italian village named Monte Athena during the
nineteenth century. In this portrayal of the play, Duke Theseus is nothing but a tired and seemingly
unimportant bureaucrat, rather than a victorious hero as shown in the play. On the same note,

In particular this relates to Puck, who has been transformed from a mischievous fairy to a middle
aged lounge lizard. Puck is the closest thing to a protagonist in the play because he is responsible
for many of the complications that occur between the four lovers. Similarly, Titania loses much of
her previous complexity throughout the film. The play emphasizes the strong bonds of an ancient
female friendship that keep Titania from abandoning the Indian boy because she wants to care for
a deceased friend s son. Hermia and Helena s lives are also marked by strong friendships although
Demetrius who is in love with Hermia is also who Helena has fallen in love with. Hoffman does
stay true to the ideal of female friendship shown in the play, which is one of the reasons, why
relationship between Hermia, Helena, Hippoltya, and Titinia is understandable.
Although, Hoffman didn t change everything when he converted the play to a film, he did change
most of the major concepts. It is not certain why he changed much of the play, but one explanation
that fits is because he wanted to modernize it. A Midsummer Night s Dream was written in the
1590 s and the film was produced in 1999. Hoffman most likely felt that change was necessary for
modern audiences to understand. However, the outcome of Hoffman s changes is that the comical

is actually transferred from one generation to another not through genes but through language,

Sometimes it s between different religions and sometimes between Native American minorities.
But it s not just colonization that resulted in cultural conflicts but also because of conflicting
values, racism of who is superior. Cultural diversity can sometimes bring ethical or political
issues with it. Usually the problem arises because of minority culture sometimes clashing with
the majority. The term liberalism means the freedom of speech and freedom to live one s life
according to their own cultural practices. In liberal states each individual has the right to be
treated equally, justice is equal for all irrespective of cast creed or color as every single
individual has his own political views, color, religion, dress code etc. Whereas discrimination takes

Flint, Michigan, it seems, is no longer part of the GM plan. To GM s board, Flint is not very
important anymore, it does not need Flint at this point. The board believes it is in GM s best

This is an example of the conflicts between what workers want and what their employers want.
The textbook says, It is inherent in the process of profit making and places workers and their

Holden remembers James [calling Phil Stabile] a very conceited guy, and some of Stabile s

Marketing s Development And Success Essay
In contemporary society, due to the seller economic model is transforming to the buyer economic
model gradually in the market which has resulted from social progress as well as technological
development, marketing plays a prominent role in an enterprise s development and success.
According to American MarketingAssociation (AMA):
Marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering,
and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large
(AMA 2007, cited in Baines et al. 2011, p. 6).
In order to achieve better performance of marketing, marketing study is indispensable. As
Hackley (2009) indicated, Marketing studies seems to have the ability to appeal in different
guises to different audiences , meanwhile, he also argued that marketing studies is in its most
popular guise which refers to a resolutely one dimensional problem solving discipline . (Hackley,
2009, p.45). From the author s point of view, one dimensional problem solving discipline is a
simple way of pure transactions between the seller and the buyer which is direct and
straightforward. In my own opinion, one dimensional problem solving discipline means a narrow
and simple mode of trades that just focuses on one specific purpose, regardless of any other
significant factors of marketing. For instance, some companies merely meet the customer
satisfaction, or some firms just pay attention to their own profit. All of

Wild Orangutans Research Paper
Wild Orangutans are commonly found in Asia within the rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra.
Borneo and Sumatra are two large tropical islands that are filled with trees that provide a home
to these creatures as well as thousands of other species. Borneo is the third largest island in the
world whereas Sumatra is only the sixth. Despite this, these two islands home more than
100,000 Orangutangs. In addition, these islands hold over 15,000 different kinds of plants and
trees. The Orangutangs make these islands their home due to the presence of Palm Oil Trees.
Orangutans mostly like to build their homes and nest in Palm Oil trees because they prefer to
live up off of the ground so they are away from predators such as tigers. Additionally, the leaves
are wide and provide them with somewhere to sit and sleep, they also provide food and maybe

As An Upper Level High School Mathematics Teacher, My...
As an upper level high school mathematics teacher, my students are assigned to classes based on
skill level rather than grade level, but the due to the nature of the material, most students are juniors
and seniors. Tasha, the student constantly demanding my attention to ask if she is doing the work
correctly, is almost certainly one of these upperclassmen as the rare underclassman who is in an
advanced math class generally has more confidence in her abilities if only because placement in
such a class implies that the school believes that she is highly capable. While not offensive or
intentionally disruptive, Tasha s behaviordoes impact the classroom environment negatively. Every
minute that she demands my attention is a minute that I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, I am forced to spend more time refocusing students and dealing with inappropriate
behavior which cuts down on the amount of instructional time in my classroom. While Tasha s
motivation for monopolizing my time is almost certainly not to deprive other students of having
their questions answered or to keep me from maintaining order in the classroom, these are the
inevitable consequences of her behavior if it continues. By allowing her to continue this pattern,
I am also doing her no favors as she is not learning to be a self directed learner or taking
ownership of her own learning and work if I am constantly at her beck and call to confirm that
she is doing just fine. Tasha s behavior appears to be rooted in a lack of confidence in her own
abilities, and she is exhibiting some signs of learned helplessness. It is unlikely that any
particular incident in my class caused Tasha to be so insecure as low self confidence and learned
helplessness develop over time, but certain situations in class are more likely to trigger her need
for confirmation that she is doing her work correctly. She is most likely to demand my attention
when I have shifted the class into individual work time as opposed to group instruction or
discussion. Tasha s insecurities become more pronounced when she is left to work on an
assignment without step by step guidance from me. If she sees other students getting to work

Medea Female Righteousness
Though a standard plot structure for a Greek tragedy encompassing revenge and inner conflict,
Euripides Medea addresses the themes of female righteousness and the morals of justified
retribution. By separating himself from the general rhythms of such plays to show shifts in tone
and character, Euripides develops a narrative subtly expressing the flaws in the human condition in
which, unbeknownst to the innocent, the power to kill and destroy is present. The utilization of
pithy phrases in conjunction with passionate lyrical meter illuminates the contradicting thoughts of
Medeas and how this ultimately leads to her fatal maturation. Naturally, upon acquiring the
knowledge of her husband s plan to marry another woman, Medea fell into a... Show more content

Euripides argues throughout the play that humans naturally have the power to kill always and
do not have to be provoked in a certain extreme manner, though this is often true. Though the
first presentation of Medea s character is one of her despairing over the betrayal of her husband,
it can be deduced that the presence of death as a solution was present in her mind before she
uttered her plan, one day to make three enemies three corpses, due to the later lack of empathy
towards those she killed, as well as the nurse s proclamation that anyone who crosses [Medea]
will not easily sing a song of triumph. Medea does not view the realization that she has the
capacity to kill as a weakness in her humanity, but as a tool to manipulate Jason and other male
characters like Aegeus; that is to say her knowledge of her own murderous abilities subsequently
gives her the strength to shame and control others. By mocking Jason s style of speech in the
second episode and referring directly to his arguments, Medea is able to become superior and
more passionate in her claims, thus playing on Jason s flaws. Moreover, her speech is saturated
with sarcasm and irony as a way of making Jason understand the effects of his actions without
Medea herself showing weakness: Such a wonderful husband and so loyal! Medea further masks
her natural cruelty by feigning her innocence with

Animal Farm Old Major Analysis
Old Major is a twelve year old boar with a wise and benevolent appearance. He feels that it is his
duty to pass on his wisdom to the other animals before he dies. Old Major is the speaker of a
speech he makes in the novel Animal Farm. In his speech he argued the idea that men are the
enemies of the animals. Old Major s purpose is to convey the idea that the only way for the animals
to get justice is to form a rebellion. Old Major adopts a serious tone in order to convince the
animals that the only way to get justice from the enemies is to rebel against them.
Old Major begins his speech by recognizing that before he dies his job is to pass on his wisdom
into the other animals in the farm. To prove that he has qualifications in saying this, he states, I
have had much time for thought as I lay alone in my stall (5). He says this in order to prove that he
has had many hours to think and put his thoughts in order. This sharing of emotion creates a
serious tone that elaborates how the animals need to receive this wisdom before Old Major is no
longer with them. Old Major, the speaker, of a speech made in the novel Animal Farm believes
that before his death, his comrades need to obtain his knowledge on the nature of life.
Furthermore, Old Major shifts his topic in the middle of the speech by claiming that men are the
enemies of the animals. He argues that humans are evil when he states, Why then do we continue in
this miserable condition? Because nearly the whole of the

Woody Point Festival Case Analysis
Introduction With its inception in 2004, the Writers at Woody Point Festival have become an ever
increasingly popular annual literature festival for Newfoundland s west coast. The festival has
grown each year and has now reached the point where council believes a formal marketing strategy

summer months of July and August. These other festivals can greatly affect numbers for the
Writers at Woody Point Festival as potential customers may choose to attend, and spend money

uncertainty of having to rent out the Woody Point Heritage Theatre each year. A competing festival

threat for festival organizers as they target younger crowds with music concerts, they may give

source of revenue. The analysis above has made it apparent that the festival has/ need of; outgrown

Analysis Of Atonement By The Novel Atonement Essay
The novel Atonement tells the story of a woman desperately trying to make for her past
mistakes. The story starts off in the world war two period with the three main characters, Briony,
Robbie and Cecelia, as children and young adults. Robbie comes from the poor Turner Family,
while Briony and Cecilia are sisters in the powerful and wealthy Tallis Family. After observing a
set of peculiar and awkward encounters between Robbie and Cecilia, Briony wrongly assumes
Robbie as an evil character. After Paul, a rich sociopath invited to the dinner, rapes Lola, a cousin
of the Tallises, Briony immediately assumes that the culprit is none other than Robbie and
publicly accuses him. Robbie is sent off to prison, and then world war two to end his
imprisonment. Robbie and Cecelia still stay in touch through letters. Robbie bravely survives the
war and returns home to Cecelia after several failed attempts and encounters. Briony s apology
attempts are shunned by the reunited couple as they live on peacefully. However, the shock ending
in the epilogue reveals that the whole narrative was authored by Briony herself and not by an
unknown narrator. She states that both of the couple died before ever meeting each other after
separation and feels responsible. The publishing of this story where their lovelasts in peace is
simply Briony s way of achieving atonement. Much of the story and most of Briony s guilt hinges
on the deep, strong love between Robbie and Cecelia. However, their love is a

The Definition Of Blind By Texas State University
Diversity is usually portrayed as the acceptance of many different races and geographical cultures.
It is not as common to hear the lack of diversity towards the blind community but it exists. The
attendance of Texas State University has opened up the doors to one of the most diverse places I
have had the chance to experience first hand. Although Texas State has become somewhat of a safe
haven, that does not displace the fact that there is stereotyping everywhere against the blind.
According to the Oxford Dictionary, the definition of blind is unable to see; sightless (Definition
of Blind in English, 2015). However, I do not like to be put in such a box. I define blindness as
merely a heightening of other senses. What do you think of when you hear the word sight?
More than likely you think of shapes, colors, and objects. My idea of sight consists of many
senses; smell, touch, sounds, those are the things that I see with. How about the word blind; what
do you think of then? The most common relation to the word blind is disabled; however, we are a
very abled people. Even though I carry a cane among my person I get through my daily life just as
any other able bodied human being (Question 1).

The Characteristics Of Intriguing Characters In A Game Of...
1.Introduction
While A Game of Thrones can in many ways be compared to other outstanding works in literature,
whether it is Lord of the Rings for its fantasy setting or Hamlet for themes of love, intrigue, political
games and treachery, what truly make the novel great are its characters. In many novels, one might
argue that the characters are merely a product of their situation and the story, while in A Game of
Thrones the story is in many ways the product of the characters. What I mean by this is that
characters often merely react to events that occur around them, while characters in A Game of
Thrones create the events that build up the story. Therefore I will look at how George R.R. Martin
uses creates and uses intriguing and diverse characters in A Game of Thrones. The world in A
Game of Thrones is full of complex and changing characters with very distinct personalities and
some of them change drastically, which makes it ideal for this type of investigation.

philosophers call Cultural Relativism. A theory in which states that there is no real sense of

that culturedoes. It s okay that they re doing that however, sometimes people think the opposite No,

These are practices that are necessary in order for a society to continue thriving generation after
generation.
Different cultures have different moral codes. (Benedict, 18) What people find right or wrong
lies in the matter of opinion, which can vary depending on the type of culture they take a part of.
This is the first of the five main claims Rachels mentions in his essay that take a part of Cultural
Relativism. Which, by itself, is painfully obvious, it only takes a moment of learning about
different cultures to know this. But it is when the second claim; The moral code of a society
determines what is right within that society; that is, if the moral code of a society says that a
certain action is right, then that action is right, at least within that society (Rachels, 16) comes into
place that brings up the cultural differences argument. There are a lot of differences when it comes
to moral cultures, this can be seen from something as little as the mannerisms of the individuals to
something as extreme as life and death as Rachels mentioned with the example of the Eskimos.
With those differences in mind, there come different claims of morality depending on when and
where the person is from. And thus, morality becomes relative in regards to the cultural norms. And
Rachels demonstrates an argument against this, yes, there are differences amongst cultures, but it
doesn t imply any difference when it comes to the truth. Such as

Comparing Frantz Fanon And Mahatma Gandhi
Danielle Patton
Final Paper
History 1500 to Present
December 4th, 2014
When you look back through time at the history of decolonization, there are many names that come
to mind, but two that should be focused on are Frantz Fanon and Mahatma Gandhi. Both of these
men were strong advocates for anti colonialism and nationalism. Their attitudes can be described by
this quote from Frantz Fanon who said, what matters is not to know the world but to change it.
They may have been active during different times in history, but they both took action to see that
the countries they represented were run in an anti colonialistic and nationalistic way. A few
questions that may arise though is why did both of these men feel so strongly, what actions did
they take to make sure that their countries were run the right way, and what impact did they have
on decolonization? To fully understand these men and their actions, understanding what they
believed is key. The term nationalism describes both the attitude of someone that takes pride in their
nation and its identity, and the actions that are taken to ensure their country s autonomy (Miscevic).
Most people that have a nationalistic belief feel as though their country should be self sufficient and
maximize their resources. The term anti colonialism is used to describe an opposition to the term
colonialism, but you may wonder what does colonialism mean? Colonialism is a term that
describes the practice of domination (Kohn). This

My Reflection Of Computers
I am currently enrolled in Calculus and I am feeling overwhelmed because just the year before I
had only taken Algebra II so a jump from Algebra to Calculus is pretty big because I skipped
Trigonometry and Precalculus. I felt overwhelmed so I saw this choice on the Application
Activity 2 I chose to go for tutoring. The tutor I chose is the Valedictorian and she could have
chose to graduate as early as last year. She is currently taking this last semester here and then
graduating and going to New Mexico Tech.
I had a C in calculus when I chose to get my tutor to help me with test corrections and a few
homework assignments that were worth a lot of points. Alyssa my tutor really helped me
understand what I did wrong on my test and with the corrections she had me do I was able to
bring my grade from a C to a B. The test had me deal with limits of functions and before I really
didn t understand on the first question I was very close to the correct answer but I factored
incorrectly and on the second question I remembered a vital rule in limits which is 1 divided by
an X to a power is 0. The next question had me deal with graphing functions within a function and
that confused me quite a lot and after getting tutored these functions make sense to me and I can
graph them as easy as a normal function, but we also had to evaluate if the limits exist and if they
do exist where they are on the graph and that was very confusing to me because I did not know
which function I had to

Driverless Car Advancement
Have you ever been extremely late for school or your occupations and wish you could just get
ready in the car? Automotive cars are planned to come out sometime in the near future of the year
2020. I know this new technological advancement seems scary, but with the ways it will benefit us
remarkable. Self drivingcars would impact our advanced society in many positive ways because
the streets would become less congested, the innovations for cars have worked before, and the
amount of deaths would be lessened. The driverless car would be a great innovation to have in
your everyday life because it will allow cities to not be as congested. Firstly, this technology will
become increasingly reliable and affordable, which will allow dense, urban locations to become
more spread out in population (Dashevsky). This demonstrates that when this innovation... Show

Firstly, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has estimated 2,200 lives were saved
due to electronic stability from 2008 to 2010 (Villasenor). This demonstrates how technological
advancements might even be scary at the beginning and hard to get used to, that it will be worth it
in the long run. Next, advanced innovations are being tested, such as safely navigating through
streets, to prove that this technology is capable (Villasenor). Without people driving these cars,
and computers navigating through the streets instead, there will be less accidents as well as
deaths. Finally, road deaths have dropped from 53,000 in 1970 to 33,000 in 2014, which is even
more impressive when you hear that the population has doubled and the number of miles we drive
per year has tripled (Dashevsky). This demonstrates that innovations have been working for the past
years, if the amount of deaths per year have been decreasing. In summary, these technological
advancements have improved our lives greatly over the past

Persuasive Essay On Hunting
The first time I went hunting with my brothers
Some people think spending the day in the woods is relaxing and peaceful. I used to think that
too until I went turkey hunting. With my brothers it was frustrating, hard, and aggravating all at
the same time because of the mistakes you ll make it s a life changing experience. It ll get your
blood pumping and your heart racing you ll end up wanting to go turkey hunting more often then
you think. You might think it s a little insane to wake up at 4:30 AM adventure into the woods and
get bit by bugs and get dirty. But it s what you have to do if you want to hunt you ll need to get
there before others do and before the turkeys wake up you have to find a spot to sit at and wait
and call them with a turkey call. But there is one downfall you is can t shoot till the sun comes
up that s kind of a long wait from 4:30 to 6:00 AM. It s worth the wait and excitement of going
hunting with my two older brothers yeah, they pick on me but there my brothers that s what
they do. One of their names is James we call him Bubba and the other one is Tyler and we call
him stupid they have a name for me but that s not school appropriate. And they say that you see
crazy things all the time in the woods I never really believed it till that night. We saw a UFO while
we were finding a place to call for turkeys. Bubba looks up and he says some words that can t be
spoken of but at that time we all look up at this bright star moving from side to side

Effects Of Caffeine On The Body Metabolism
Caffeine is one of the most prevalent drugs consumed around the world, and is frequently used by
athletes in efforts to enhance their performance. It is defined by the Medical Dictionary as A bitter
white alkaloid, C8H10N4O2 that stimulates the central nervous system and body metabolism
(2010). Some believe that increasing their caffeineintake will then improve their energy and
endurance levels during long term sporting events such as running, biking, or swimming. Caffeine
is found in an assortment of foods and drinks including but not limited to coffee, tea, cokes and
cola products, chocolate and energy drinks. Caffeine can also be found in some over the counter
medications.
In a recent research study produced by the Kinesiology Department of Delaware University, the
following findings were presented: that caffeine is a vasoconstrictor and stimulant; caffeine can
increase blood pressure by contracting the heart and blood vessels in non habitual users; caffeine
changes the electro physiological activity of the heart, increasing conductivity, even in limited
doses (University of Delaware). In regards to the gastrointestinal side effects, the UD study wrote
that caffeine stimulates gastric secretion, stating that some individuals are sensitive to caffeine and
suffer ill effects such as acid indigestion, heartburn, abdominal pain, gas or constipation to varying
degrees. In addition, caffeine inhibits vasopressin, and it acts as a powerful diuretic. Liver

Ureterocele Essay
Ureterocele, Pediatric
A ureterocele is an abnormal swelling at the end of a ureter, near the bladder. Ureters are tubes that
connect the kidneys to the bladder. Urine is filtered by the kidneys and then it flows through the
ureters to be stored in the bladder. A ureterocele is a condition that your child is born with
(congenital anomaly). Children with this condition usually have an extra ureter on one side of the
body, which is likely to form a ureterocele.
A ureterocele usually happens on only one side of the body. Sometimes it affects both sides, but
this is rare. A ureterocele can block urineflow or cause urine to flow backward (backflow), which
can result in:
Frequent urinary tract infections (UTIs).
Kidney damage.

many things. The Sirens have plenty of strengths, and have faced many conflicts. They also use
their strengths to attract their prey. The Sirens have many strengths. They have the ability to use a

Similarities Between The Sacho Panza Syndrome And The...
The Sancho Panza syndrome (then) and the American dream (then and now)
In the 15th century, the combination of the Sancho Panza Syndrome and the American dream
fueled exploration at that time and created an incredibly enticing allure of the New World.
Exploration and colonization were performed to attain a higher social status, more wealth, and
fame. The result of this exploration led to the discovery of new lands and laid the foundation for
new countries, but it came with a cost. The perils of the new land discovered were often
incredibly treacherous and sometimes times even life threatening, however, the American dream
never faded away. The American dream today holds very similar to the American dream in the
15th and 16th centuries despite the gap of 500 years. These dreams are very alike, because they
both are comprised of individuals trying to achieve success in lands of opportunity, and although
some were prosperous, others were not so fortunate. The American dream today is a household
concept, which states that if a person works hard enough, he or she can make a better life for
themselves. This concept inspires countless people every day to overcome adversity in attempt to
better their life. On a personal level, I can relate to this dream vicariously through my father. My
grandfather immigrated to the United States in 1923 from Bisaccia, Italy. The Procaccino family
stood firmly on the belief that following the American dream was key to success, but despite how
hard my great grandfather worked, the Great Depression drained the money out of the Procaccino
household. John (my grandfather) yearned to become a doctor, but due to his family s financial
situation, John enlisted in the US Army during World War II. After completing his duties, he earned
an engineering degree and became a New York Cityengineer. John bore two sons named Angelo
and John II. Angelo was a naturally gifted child with tremendous brainpower, but John was more
of a rapscallion. With the guidance of Angelo, John realized that the best way to create something
with your life was to follow the American dream and work harder than anyone else. John II became
an incredible student and eventually went on to be a nationally

Although there are many versions of the play, they tend to stay true to the original characters, setting, and them. However in Michael Hoffman s 1999 film version of A Midsummer Night s Dream, he breaks the traditional rules by first changing the setting. Hoffman sends the comedic action from ancient Athens to an imaginary Italian village named Monte Athena during the nineteenth century. In particular this relates to Puck, who has been transformed from a mischievous fairy to a middle aged lounge lizard. Puck is the closest thing to a protagonist in the play because he is responsible for many of the complications that occur between the four lovers. Similarly, Titania loses much of her previous complexity throughout the film. The play emphasizes the strong bonds of an ancient female friendship that keep Titania from abandoning the Indian boy because she wants to care for a deceased friend s son. Hermia and Helena s lives are also marked by strong friendships although Demetrius who is in love with Hermia is also who Helena has fallen in love with. Hoffman does stay true to the ideal of female friendship shown in the play, which is one of the reasons, why relationship between Hermia, Helena, Hippoltya, and Titinia is understandable. Although, Hoffman didn t change everything when he converted the play to a film, he did change most of the major concepts. It is not certain why he changed much of the play, but one explanation that fits is because he wanted to modernize it. A Midsummer Night s Dream was written in the 1590 s and the film was produced in 1999. Hoffman most likely felt that change was necessary for modern audiences to understand. GM would not have lost money if it kept the Flint plants open. Nevertheless, the GM board of directors chose to close them and essentially ruin the city. • 19. Marketing s Development And Success Essay In contemporary society, due to the seller economic model is transforming to the buyer economic model gradually in the market which has resulted from social progress as well as technological development, marketing plays a prominent role in an enterprise s development and success. According to American MarketingAssociation (AMA): Marketing is the activity, set of institutions, and processes for creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, partners, and society at large (AMA 2007, cited in Baines et al. 2011, p. 6). In order to achieve better performance of marketing, marketing study is indispensable. As Hackley (2009) indicated, Marketing studies seems to have the ability to appeal in different guises to different audiences , meanwhile, he also argued that marketing studies is in its most popular guise which refers to a resolutely one dimensional problem solving discipline . (Hackley, 2009, p.45). From the author s point of view, one dimensional problem solving discipline is a simple way of pure transactions between the seller and the buyer which is direct and straightforward. In my own opinion, one dimensional problem solving discipline means a narrow and simple mode of trades that just focuses on one specific purpose, regardless of any other significant factors of marketing. For instance, some companies merely meet the customer satisfaction, or some firms just pay attention to their own profit. All of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Borneo and Sumatra are two large tropical islands that are filled with trees that provide a home to these creatures as well as thousands of other species. Borneo is the third largest island in the world whereas Sumatra is only the sixth. Despite this, these two islands home more than 100,000 Orangutangs. In addition, these islands hold over 15,000 different kinds of plants and trees. The Orangutangs make these islands their home due to the presence of Palm Oil Trees. Orangutans mostly like to build their homes and nest in Palm Oil trees because they prefer to live up off of the ground so they are away from predators such as tigers. Additionally, the leaves are wide and provide them with somewhere to sit and sleep, they also provide food and maybe even something to play with. As an upper level high school mathematics teacher, my students are assigned to classes based on skill level rather than grade level, but the due to the nature of the material, most students are juniors and seniors. Tasha, the student constantly demanding my attention to ask if she is doing the work correctly, is almost certainly one of these upperclassmen as the rare underclassman who is in an advanced math class generally has more confidence in her abilities if only because placement in such a class implies that the school believes that she is highly capable. Medea Female Righteousness Though a standard plot structure for a Greek tragedy encompassing revenge and inner conflict, Euripides Medea addresses the themes of female righteousness and the morals of justified retribution. By separating himself from the general rhythms of such plays to show shifts in tone and character, Euripides develops a narrative subtly expressing the flaws in the human condition in which, unbeknownst to the innocent, the power to kill and destroy is present. The utilization of pithy phrases in conjunction with passionate lyrical meter illuminates the contradicting thoughts of Medeas and how this ultimately leads to her fatal maturation. Euripides argues throughout the play that humans naturally have the power to kill always and do not have to be provoked in a certain extreme manner, though this is often true. Though the first presentation of Medea s character is one of her despairing over the betrayal of her husband, it can be deduced that the presence of death as a solution was present in her mind before she uttered her plan, one day to make three enemies three corpses, due to the later lack of empathy towards those she killed, as well as the nurse s proclamation that anyone who crosses [Medea] will not easily sing a song of triumph. Medea does not view the realization that she has the capacity to kill as a weakness in her humanity, but as a tool to manipulate Jason and other male characters like Aegeus; that is to say her knowledge of her own murderous abilities subsequently gives her the strength to shame and control others. By mocking Jason s style of speech in the second episode and referring directly to his arguments, Medea is able to become superior and more passionate in her claims, thus playing on Jason s flaws. Moreover, her speech is saturated with sarcasm and irony as a way of making Jason understand the effects of his actions without Medea herself showing weakness: Such a wonderful husband and so loyal! In many novels, one might argue that the characters are merely a product of their situation and the story, while in A Game of Thrones the story is in many ways the product of the characters. • 37. Cultural Relativism James Rachels essay titled The Challenge of Cultural Relativism is more of a critique over what philosophers call Cultural Relativism. A theory in which states that there is no real sense of morality and that it is one s own culture that makes up their own morality. A lot of people tend to reason things in the way that Cultural Relativists might, by saying things such as Oh, well it s what that culturedoes. It s okay that they re doing that however, sometimes people think the opposite No, it doesn t matter. It is just wrong depending on the case. That s the thing with Cultural Relativism, making things appear to be either helpful for some and harmful to others. And so, what Rachels ultimately states in his argument that although... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These are practices that are necessary in order for a society to continue thriving generation after generation. Different cultures have different moral codes. (Benedict, 18) What people find right or wrong lies in the matter of opinion, which can vary depending on the type of culture they take a part of. This is the first of the five main claims Rachels mentions in his essay that take a part of Cultural Relativism. Which, by itself, is painfully obvious, it only takes a moment of learning about different cultures to know this. But it is when the second claim; The moral code of a society determines what is right within that society; that is, if the moral code of a society says that a certain action is right, then that action is right, at least within that society (Rachels, 16) comes into place that brings up the cultural differences argument. There are a lot of differences when it comes to moral cultures, this can be seen from something as little as the mannerisms of the individuals to something as extreme as life and death as Rachels mentioned with the example of the Eskimos. With those differences in mind, there come different claims of morality depending on when and where the person is from. And thus, morality becomes relative in regards to the cultural norms. And Rachels demonstrates an argument against this, yes, there are differences amongst cultures, but it doesn t imply any difference when it comes to the truth. Such as ... Comparing Frantz Fanon And Mahatma Gandhi Danielle Patton Final Paper History 1500 to Present December 4th, 2014 When you look back through time at the history of decolonization, there are many names that come to mind, but two that should be focused on are Frantz Fanon and Mahatma Gandhi. Both of these men were strong advocates for anti colonialism and nationalism. Their attitudes can be described by this quote from Frantz Fanon who said, what matters is not to know the world but to change it. They may have been active during different times in history, but they both took action to see that the countries they represented were run in an anti colonialistic and nationalistic way. A few questions that may arise though is why did both of these men feel so strongly, what actions did they take to make sure that their countries were run the right way, and what impact did they have on decolonization? To fully understand these men and their actions, understanding what they believed is key. The term nationalism describes both the attitude of someone that takes pride in their nation and its identity, and the actions that are taken to ensure their country s autonomy (Miscevic). Most people that have a nationalistic belief feel as though their country should be self sufficient and maximize their resources. The term anti colonialism is used to describe an opposition to the term colonialism, but you may wonder what does colonialism mean? Colonialism is a term that describes the practice of domination (Kohn). This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The next question had me deal with graphing functions within a function and that confused me quite a lot and after getting tutored these functions make sense to me and I can graph them as easy as a normal function, but we also had to evaluate if the limits exist and if they do exist where they are on the graph and that was very confusing to me because I did not know which function I had to ... The Sancho Panza syndrome (then) and the American dream (then and now) In the 15th century, the combination of the Sancho Panza Syndrome and the American dream fueled exploration at that time and created an incredibly enticing allure of the New World. Exploration and colonization were performed to attain a higher social status, more wealth, and fame. The result of this exploration led to the discovery of new lands and laid the foundation for new countries, but it came with a cost. The perils of the new land discovered were often incredibly treacherous and sometimes times even life threatening, however, the American dream never faded away. The American dream today holds very similar to the American dream in the 15th and 16th centuries despite the gap of 500 years. These dreams are very alike, because they both are comprised of individuals trying to achieve success in lands of opportunity, and although some were prosperous, others were not so fortunate. The American dream today is a household concept, which states that if a person works hard enough, he or she can make a better life for themselves. This concept inspires countless people every day to overcome adversity in attempt to better their life. On a personal level, I can relate to this dream vicariously through my father. My grandfather immigrated to the United States in 1923 from Bisaccia, Italy. The Procaccino family stood firmly on the belief that following the American dream was key to success, but despite how hard my great grandfather worked, the Great Depression drained the money out of the Procaccino household. John (my grandfather) yearned to become a doctor, but due to his family s financial situation, John enlisted in the US Army during World War II. After completing his duties, he earned an engineering degree and became a New York Cityengineer. John bore two sons named Angelo and John II. Angelo was a naturally gifted child with tremendous brainpower, but John was more of a rapscallion.
