Extended Definition Essay Sample
Crafting an Extended Definition Essay Sample can be a challenging yet rewarding task,
demanding a nuanced understanding of the chosen concept and the ability to express it with
depth and clarity. Unlike typical essays, an extended definition essay requires more than just a
surface-level exploration of a term; it necessitates a comprehensive analysis that delves into the
various facets and nuances that define the concept.
One of the primary challenges lies in choosing the right term for exploration. The selected term
should be broad enough to allow for an in-depth analysis but specific enough to maintain focus.
The writer must possess a clear understanding of the chosen concept, which often involves
extensive research and exploration to grasp its various dimensions and interpretations.
Structuring the essay poses another hurdle. The writer must decide on a coherent and logical
organization that effectively communicates the different aspects of the term. This often involves
breaking down the concept into subtopics, each contributing to the overall understanding.
Striking the right balance between depth and conciseness is crucial, as an overly verbose essay
may lose its impact, while one that is too brief might lack substance.
Furthermore, maintaining a consistent tone and style throughout the essay is essential. The writer
must ensure that their voice aligns with the nature of the chosen concept, whether it be formal,
informal, technical, or creative. Achieving this coherence adds an additional layer of complexity
to the writing process.
In terms of content, providing a nuanced definition goes beyond a mere dictionary explanation.
The writer must explore the historical, cultural, and contextual dimensions of the term, offering
readers a comprehensive view. This requires a keen analytical mind and the ability to synthesize
information from various sources.
Concluding the essay with a satisfying resolution can be challenging. Wrapping up an extended
definition essay involves summarizing key points, offering personal insights, and leaving a
lasting impression on the reader. Crafting a conclusion that ties together the diverse elements of
the essay while maintaining clarity and impact is a task that requires finesse and skill.
In conclusion, writing an extended definition essay sample is a complex endeavor that demands
a deep understanding of the chosen concept, effective organization, and the ability to convey
thoughts with clarity and coherence. It is a process that requires dedication, research, and careful
consideration of language and structure. For those seeking assistance with such essays or similar
writing tasks, various services, including HelpWriting.net, offer professional support and

Analysis of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care...
Introduction
In 2010, the United States took the first tangible step toward universal health care
coverage, with the legalization of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of
2010. According to the U.S. Census Bureau s most recent report the total
population of the United States is nearly 309 million people (U.S. Census Bureau,
2010). In 2009, it was estimated 49 % of the population was covered under an
employer sponsored insurance plan (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2009). The same
2009 data reported an additional 29 % of the population was covered under some
form of government or public program (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2009). Leaving 17
% of the U.S. population vulnerable without any form of health insurance coverage ...

The U.S. Census Bureau reported in the 2010 census data that 33.9 % of the
population was under the age of 24, with 26.9% under the age of 19. This change
will protect the more than 7% of the population from vulnerability that might arise
from losing their insurance coverage. In total an estimated 2.3 million adult
children were enrolled in their parent s employer sponsored health plan due to the
Affordable Care Act (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2011). Reports show that the
young adult demographic recognize the importance of health care coverage and
have started to take advantage of this new benefit. Business reported an increase in
the enrolled number of adult children who would not be covered without the
Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (Kaiser Family Foundation,
2011). In addition to an expansion of who is covered by insurance plans there
were also significant changes made to what is covered by insurance plans.
Insurance carriers will no deny health care coverage to individuals because of pre
existing conditions (OpenCongress). This is an advantage for individuals that
cannot find coverage due to chronic conditions. The new legislation also prohibits a
health plan from canceling coverage of a member unless there is evidence of fraud
(OpenCongress). Insurance companies will no longer be allowed to dis enroll
members when they have
Donald Trump Persuasive Essay
Donald Trump does not deserve to represent our country as president. His harsh
comments he has said can sometimes be seen as racial comments. He thinks that
what he says is fair because of how bad our country is at the moment and he wants
us to open our eyes to all that is happening. Donald Trump is one to say things that
most of the time come off as a rude and racist comments to those listening to what
he has to say. A few of those times he has false claims about things he really doesn t
know the full story of. He said, I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where
thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down
(Trump, 2015). There just so happened to be a large Arab population in Jersey City,
New Jersey and they watched as the World Trade Center came down on 9/11. A
lieutenant said, . . .there are no indicators that this ever happened (Hertling, 2015).
What lieutenant General Mark Hertling said that his statements were false and that
they were not helpful to the commanders on the ground. The worst part about Donald
Trumps false claims is that his supporters actually stand by him and say that what he
saw was correct. The men and women that support all that he does from all over the
world actually called in and said that what he... Show more content on

He said, I would bomb those suckers. And that s right. I d blow up the pipes, I d
blow up the refiners, I d blow up every single inch that there would be nothing left.
I would take their oil (Trump, 2015). For Donald Trump to say this, he would have
to know where this group must be. He thinks that if we were to go after the
families of the men and women in the ISIS group, we could take them down.
Everyone must care for someone in this world and even the members of ISIS are
capable of caring for their own family members. So he believes that if we take down
the families of ISIS members, ISIS will also come down with those family
Other Primates
The primary message this page wants to address is that humans are very similar to
other primates because humans are primates as well. Many of the similarities can be
seen in appearances and genetic code though their behavior is a lot more similar than
some would think. The page also wants to convey that it will address some of the
ways that humanand other primates are similar and different. Humans and other
primates both communicate using many different vocal sounds, though humans have
broad and detailed languages. All primates are very vocal animals, though other forms
of communicationare often used. Humans have a complex languageof hand signals
(sign language) that is used. Through studies it has been found that other primates use

Humans, as well as other primates, bond with grooming and playing with others.
Humans, unlike other primates, interact with a wider variety of their species than
most primates. The many human subgroups and cultures all interact with each
other across the world, whereas most other primates only interact with those in
their social group. The single fact that nearly all primates, including humans, are
very social beings in general and prefer to live in social groups, contributes to the
multitude of similarities of social behavior. Another part if social behavior that is
similar is the rate at which humans and other primates mature. For both it takes
many years to develop and to be able to take care of one s self. Other primates
generally mature in half the amount of time it takes humans to grow up. Humans
also have very complex ways of maturing and many more intricate social interactions
than other primates. Both humans and other primates use tools, and in similar ways
as well. Many use tools for gathering food or hunting. Though humans have a larger
array of tools, for many more complex uses. No other primates use tools as much as
humans do. Humans are very unique for
Experience of the Attawapiskat Cree to Ojibwa in relation...
The Attawaspiskat Cree and Ojibwa are a first nations group living in parts of
Canada, mainly northern Ontario. The main languages spoken by these first nation
groups are Mushkegowuk Cree and Ojibway. I will compare and contrast the
experience of the Attawapiskat Cree to Ojibwa in relation to the Canadian
Government. This will include analyzing the treaties introduced by the government
towards the Cree and the Ojibwa: in particular, treaty 9 will be discussed. In addition,
to these treaties the government has divided the first nation community into two
different groups: status Indians and non status Indians. Within these two groups
further division has been accomplished by the allocation of lands know as reserves to
status Indians and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Example of social, political and exploitative patterns would include the ways of
accommodation, such as living in micro or macro bands and occupying a river
drainage or a good fishing site; notion of land ownership; and hunting patters,
respectively. Since the incursion of Euro Canadians in all aspect of Indian life, there
have been changes in the traditional land tenure policies held within these societies
for centuries. The government has divided the Ojibwa and the Cree into two
different categories: status Indians and non status Indians. Status Indians are those
individuals who according to the Indian Act appear on the governments list of
registered Indians. Status Indians are solely dependent on governmental aid and live
on lands turned into reserves by the government; they are also exempted from any
provincial or federal programs such as income tax and property tax. Non status
Indians are those who have lost their Indian status by governmental enfranchisement.
These people cannot live on reserves; land setup by the government for status
Indians, but they can independently own land and must pay taxes. The reserves are
created by the Indian Act as, the minister may, when he considers it desirable
constitute new bands and when a new band has been established from an existing
band or any part thereof, such portion of the reserve lands and funds of the existing

Doctor-Assisted Suicide Case Study
The Canadian justice system is supposed to be neutral, fair, objective, and
impartial. However, we can see that this is not the reality but rather often times it
can be oppressive, constraining, and enforces discriminatory legislation or policies
that directly or indirectly works to target certain groups of people. This is especially
evident when we look at the criminal laws which criminalize non able bodied and
terminally ill individuals, who seek out assistance in dying because they feel that
their life is no longer worth living, and as a result takes away their dignity and right
to autonomy. The decriminalization of physician assisted suicideis fundamental in
order to achieve and maintain the equality, autonomy, and dignity of all individuals....

self determination or having the right to make choices about how you want to spend
the last days of your life is an essential part to the life, liberty, and security of the
person and that the legislation infringes on section 7 and 15 of the Canadian charter
of rights and freedoms (that isn t justified under the principles of fundamental justice
section 1) and therefore is invalid. They conveyed that the prohibition infringes on the
right life, liberty, and security of terminally ill patients because it leaves them with

The Mesothelioma
The mesothelium has different names depending on the location in the body. The
pleura is the name for the mesothelial tissue surrounding the lungs and lining the
chest cavity. The peritoneum covers most of the organs in the abdominal cavity,
while the pericardium lines and protects the heart. The mesothelium produces a
lubricating fluid that allows organs within it to move and glide easily. The fluid
allows the lungs to breathe and the heart to expand and contract without creating any
type of internal friction.
Like other forms of cancer, mesothelioma occurs when cells become abnormal and
divide or grow out of control. When someone has mesothelioma, the helpful
lubricating fluid described above may be over secreted. This excess fluid encases ...

At the same time, however, many of the companies employing the workers had full
knowledge that asbestos was dangerous and that exposure to asbestos would harm
the health of many of the workers. Insulators, plasterers, electricians, pipe fitters,
mechanics, iron workers, ship builders, ship workers, brick layers, carpenters, and
other tradesmen are just a few examples of workers that were likely to work with
asbestos on a day to day basis. Also at risk are the families of these workers, as the
asbestos fibers may be brought into the home from the clothes, skin, or hair of the
worker.
Unfortunately, millions of people have been exposed to asbestos over the years.
Only now are we able to see the disastrous effects of asbestos exposure in the
workplace. Just as it is with other cancers, an early diagnosis is important for
effective treatment of the disease. If you have been exposed to asbestos in the past
especially at the place of work, and if you stat to notice the common symptoms then
you should see your physician immediately for appropriate tests and
Why Is It Morally Permissible To Turn The Runaway
Trolley
To begin with, the Trolley case is an experiment where you are put into a situation
where you are on a runaway trolley where the breaks do not work and you are
headed for five people and you can either hit the five people, killing them or save
them by turning the trolley hitting one person and killing him. There is another
scenario called the Footbridge case where you are in the same situation but in order
to save the five people you have to push a fat man off a bridge stopping the trolley.
This is very interesting experiment that questions human ethicsand morality. It makes
you think whether or not it is morally permissible to turn the trolley. I argue that
there is an important moral difference between the Trolley case and the Footbridge
case because there is a difference between letting someone die to save people and
killing someone to save people.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I disagree with Thompson that it would be impermissible to re direct the trolley
because even though in both cases one person dies from an action you take, the
action has different moral standards of reason of what is right and what is wrong.
Most people agree that it is morally permissible to turn the trolley killing the one
man to save people five and it is wrong to push a fat man from a bridge to save five
people. Most people believe this because they know that there is a distinct moral
difference between incidentally killing someone and intentionally killing someone.
Intentionally killing some one is a universal law that has serious consequences which
is why people view pushing the fat man off the bridge as

We ve all been told time and time again from financial gurus, the only true way to
wealth is ownership of your home. Robert Kiyosaki, Suze Orman, Dave Ramsey,
Robert Allen, and David Bach have all said in their books and TV appearances that
owning your house is one of the fastest ways to build a legacy for yourself and your
family by having leverage and equity. Good debtor secure debt can be leveraged to
make you from a pauper to a prince in a short period of time. In today s economy,
you can scoop up an under valued house from a motivated buyer with less effort than
recent history. Below are five other reasons your should consider buying verses

3. Pay off high interest credit cards
If you applied for a mortgage and were offered a larger sum than your house costs, or
you have been paying on your house for years, you may be eligible to roll your
credit card debt into your house payment, lowering your interest rates by up to 15%
in some cases.
4. Forced savings program
If you have trouble saving, welcome to a secure savings program in the form of
your house payment. Think of it like a large bank account you get to live in. You
won t owe on it forever, but if you stop putting money in, they ll take it away. This
should motivate anyone to keep paying and pay on time.
5. Psychological benefits
Home ownership can bring pride and security like no other. You re protected under
several more laws than renters and cannot be so easily evicted from your domicile
verses being the tenet of a landlord who may kick you out or not renew your lease
for several reasons. Decorating and designing your own home can bring enormous

Crazy Blues by Noble Sissle is a cover of the song originally written by Perry
Bradford. This timeless piece of history was first recorded on August 10th, 1920
by Mamie Smith and later released on as a vinyl record by Okeh Records.3 Smith s
version of the song was wildly successful, selling 75,000 copies in the first month
following its release. Within a year, the record had sold over a million copies, and
in all, two million copies were purchased.4 After its incredible success, recording
companies rushed to record other African American singers. Noble Sissle s version
was recorded later that same year, and had similar success. Despite the large quantity
of blues recordings during the 1920 s, Crazy Blues is considered the first
successful blues song recorded by an African American artist.9 Ironically, Crazy
Blues is considered more of a popular song than a blues song despite many
references to blues throughout the track. Nevertheless, this song paved the way for
black music makers into a then predominately white recording industry, and
quickly after its release, a market for black music emerged. Perry Bradford, who
wrote Crazy Blues , also persuaded several record companies to invest in a music
market specifically for blacks.9 After record companies realized the lucrativeness of

Who Is Cornelius Vanderbilt s Business
As a young boy, Cornelius Vanderbilt worked on ferries in New York City, quitting
school at age 11. By age 16, he was operating his own business, ferrying freight and
passengers. On December 19, 1813, Cornelius Vanderbilt married his cousin and
neighbour, Sophia Johnson (1795 1868), daughter of his mother s sister. He and
his wife had thirteen children one of which, a boy, died young. By 1830, Vanderbilt
s business had expanded to the Hudson River. Soon he controlled coastal trade
along the entire coast of New England. During the California Gold Rush, he ran a
steamship line from New York to California via Nicaragua. In the early 1860s,
Vanderbilt started withdrawing capital from steamships and investing in railroads. He

Analysis Of Jerry Sandusky Scandal
In 2011 head coach Joe Paterno of Pennsylvania State University was fired after a
scandal involving Jerry Sandusky brought to light allegations of child sexual
abuse that had been in the shadows for as many as 30 plus years without any
discipline. After Sandusky was found guilty and sentenced to 30 60 years, some
question whether this incident could have been prevented and why it was kept
secret for so many years. The Sandusky scandal is a good example of a concept
called Groupthink proposed by Irvan Janis (1982) that describes a dysfunctional
group process that can occur when group members focus on being cohesive, do not
express disagreement or think critically, and as a result, make bad decisions . In my
paper I will highlight the concepts... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I do believe that had college football leadership been less uniform and remembered
the fact that the lives affected by these scandals were more important than the
game of football, there may have been less victims, and the resulting consequences
would have been far less severe. The majority of historical scandals involving
college football involve paying football players, cheating, and in some cases more
severe allegations of sexual misconduct like those of Penn State and Nebraska.
Nebraska had allegations of multiple players playing watch out while another player
raped multiple victims. Many colleges have been caught in scandal only to repeat
the same scandal over and over until the NCAA drops the ball on them. Coaches are
known to have the attitude that wins are more important than anything else. Perhaps
this culture comes from the high turnover level of coaches who fail to present a
winning team. It is not only the coaches but teammates as well who feel they need to
keep quiet in difficult situations. In the NFL, other examples like Tom Brady s
deflate gate, Adrian Peterson s child abuse case, and Ray Rice s domestic violence
case, are all examples of teammates and team staff knowing about certain situations
and either not caring or pushing things under the rug only to win games. It only takes
one whistleblower to report incidents that are criminal in nature and protect innocent
victims from terrible
Sleep Apnea Appliances
Types of Sleep Apnea Appliances
Sleep apnea, which involves breathing that s interrupted during sleep, is a severe
sleep disorder that affects 22 million Americans. Breathing can be interrupted as
much as hundreds of time, which causes the brain, as well as other areas of the
body, to not receive enough oxygen. One way to treat this sleep disorder is by using
CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) therapy. This entails using a machine
that delivers air pressure through a mask that s been placed over a person s nose
while sleeping.
But many people find the CPAP therapy too bulky and don t feel comfortable
wearing a mask to bed. Fortunately, there are sleep apnea appliances that can be used
effectively in keeping the upper airway passages ... Show more content on

A mandibular advancement device, which is the most common one used for treating
OSA (obstructive sleep apnea), resembles a mouth guard used by athletes. This
dental appliance works by pushing the lower jaw (mandible) forward so that a user s
airway is opened.
It fits over the lower and upper dental arches and has hinges that ease the lower jaw
forward. As a result, the soft palate and tongue are stabilized. Using a MAD also
helps to strengthen the airway as it makes the tongue muscle more active, as well
other airway muscles.
Tongue Retaining Device
A TRD is similar to a MAD as they both hold the tongue forward. However, unlike a
MAD that moves a user s jaw forward, a TRD pulls a user s tongue forward. In other
words, a TRD has direct control over the tongue.
Some people have less therapeutic side effects wearing a TRD than using a MAD.
But, on a negative note, TRDs not as comfortable as MADs. What s more, it takes a
longer time to get used to wearing a TRD. Considerations and Warnings
Failing to treat sleep apnea can result in failing to perform well at school or work. It
can even be fatal if you stop breathing long enough or fall asleep while
Cma 76ers Research Paper
17. Philadelphia 76ers USA TODAY Sports The Philadelphia 76ers just completed
their second straight season with fewer than 20 wins, and that was unfortunately
the goal. To the confusion of many NBA fans, this simply means that everything is
going to plan in the city of brotherly love. General manager Sam Hinkie, is sticking
to his rebuilding plan of asset collecting, and it is bound to pay off for Philly at some
point. The question is; how long will it take for the 76ers to finally build a
respectable team? The biggest X factor for the Sixers is second year big man Joel
Embiid. Embiid is one of the rare players that has the distinct possibility of being
out of the league or a top 10 player in the NBA five years from now. After missing
his entire rookie season with a foot injury, Embiid will be forced to miss another
season after aggravating his foot. It would be a big boost for the Sixers future if

anticipated debut for Philly last season after missing the entire 2013 14 campaign

versatility on the defensive end. Noel has the speed to switch onto perimeter threats
and is an outstanding rim protector. Noel accomplished the rare feat of finishing in

The Pullman Strike of 1894
The Pullman Strike of 1894 was the first national strike in American history and it
came about during a period of unrest with labor unions and controversy regarding
the role of government in business.5 The strike officially started when employees
organized and went to their supervisors to ask for a lowered rent and were refused.5
The strike had many different causes. For example, workers wanted higher wages and
fewer working hours, but the companies would not give it to them; and the workers
wanted better, more affordable living quarters, but the companies would not offer that
to them either. These different causes created an interesting and controversial end to
the Pullman strike. Because of this, questions were raised about the strike... Show

The strike leader, Eugene Debs, was jailed not for the strike, but for ignoring an
injunction that was placed on the strikers by the judge.2
This was the first time in American history that the President would ignore the
wishes of the state and send in federal troops to end a strike. They would fire upon
and kill American citizens.
The Pullman strike brought to glaring attention the labor problems in America and
the labor question in American politics; the labor problems being the unrest and
discontentment of the workers, and the labor problem being the role of the
government in business. One of the consequences of the Pullman Strike is that labor
reformers began to vigorously search for a way of protecting the interests of the
workers in an unfettered capitalist economy. Another consequence is that American
workers realized that when they were in bad situations, they would never have the
opportunity for improvement unless they orchestrated the government through an
overwhelming turnout at different elections. If workers used the Socialist Party and
democratic elections, the power of their numbers would ensure the election of
political leaders sympathetic to their cause .2 Eugene Debs, the leader of the
Pullman Strike, was jailed, not for the strike, but for ignoring an injunction that was
put on the strikers. While in jail, he read quite a bit of work by Karl Marx

Reflection Of Political Science
Political science is a broad topic that covers the history, political and geographical
aspect of the world. The course started with a revision on the basics of the
constitution, types of power and the political scene that happens around us. My first
year at the University, one of the compulsory subject that is required for arts taking
students is Political Science 1101. After several years of taking social or political
course, taking this course opened my knowledge towards politics and the political
scene in Canada. It also taught me about how different ways of information taking
could lead to one learning differently from others. For example this class gave us the
opportunity to use our laptops as a source of note taking, this helped me learn in
which whenever a new vocabulary comes up during the class discussions i could
search it up. Through The Road to Patriation and Kim Campbell Through the Looking
Glass i would further emphasize my ideas on what i have learnt throughout the course
semester.
The concepts provided in the documentary The Road To Patriation was about the
disagreement between the federal and provincial government of Canada on what to
do with their constitution and how they would agree on a formula to bring back the
Canadian Constitution from England. After the failure of five prime ministers and
several conferences Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau took up the challenge of bringing
back the constitution in early 1970 alongside with his Justice Minister
Describe Puerto Rico
Two years ago, I went to Puerto Rico and I absolutely loved it! Puerto Rico is a
Caribbean island and a U.S territory. It is east from the Dominical republic. The
capital is called San Juan with 77 other cities! Puerto Rico has about 3.548 million
people living there. Since Puerto Rico is an island the weather there is one of the
most unvarying climates in the world. All year around, the temperature is usually
from 75 to 83 degrees Fahrenheit. In fact, the island is the hottest and wettest around
August, averaging about 81 degrees Fahrenheit. Puerto Ricooffers many cultural
entertainment, historical locations and tourist attractions. In Puerto Rico their
cultural entertainments are holidays, architecture and arts crafts. There are many
holidays in Puerto Rico a few of them are New Year s day, Three Kings Day,
Christmas and more. According to touertorico.org, the architecture heritages are
from the Spanish. Narrow winding cobblestone street and light colored tile roofed

American Romanticism
Not many people know or remember what Romanticism in American Literature is
exactly. A good majority of the American population has already learned about
Romanticism in some type of English class they took in high school, but not many,
just like myself, remember it entirely. Most of the population, as a whole, should
know about Romanticismin American Literature since it was a major part in our
Literature history while also having a brief recap of the history that follows with
Romanticism. To give a recap of what Romanticism is, Romanticism was an artistic,
literary, musical, and intellectual movement which originated in Europe around the
end of the 18th century. During this time, American Literature was finding its own
voice, known... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the authors that demonstrated Romanticism were thinking outside of the box
to get this sense of Romanticism incorporated into their work bringing creativity and
the thought of emotion and individualism together in their work. We see
Romanticism in our art, literature, and music. In the early years of Romanticism, it
quickly spread to England in 1789, then, shortly after its expansion to England, it
then was picked up on in America. The Romanticism movement was considered a
philosophical movement which, in the midst of it gaining popularity, changed the
way that people think about themselves and other people around them in the world.
Many would agree that this time would be considered an age of revolution. with the
French and American Revolution going on it changed America in a semi drastic way
both literary and as a whole society. As a result of this popular movement many
different authors, including William Cullen Bryant with Thanatopsis , Henry
Longfellow with Paul Revere s Ride , and Washington Irving with the Devil and Tom
Walker included Romanticism in their works. In my opinion, I think that The Devil
and Tom Walker portrays the most use of the idea of Romanticism. Washington
Irving starts the story out with a man named Tom Walker, who only really cared
about money. As the story goes on, Tom decides

Educational Leadership Philosophy Statement
I always thought I would be a teacher and I would make differences in lives and it
would be the greatest experience in the world for me, yet being a teacher wasn t
enough, I had a need to expand my education. I decided that perhaps I needed a
new career, however, I felt certain education remained my passion. I began to
explore new areas of education and I realized I still want to be a member of a
classroom, a school and curriculum. I aspire to guide those leading our classrooms.
Being an Educational Leader is where I have chosen to land. Educational leadership

The Invisibility Of Today s Society

Invisibility in Today s Society Every day in our government there are a multitude of
decisions made by our elected officials. It may appear that our country s
administration fairly represents the community, but many of the lower income
citizens find themselves invisible. They find do not get to voice their opinions and
they receive unequal treatment. In the current generation, it is a sad fact that money
controls not only people but even the government. This leads to the lower class to
get poorly represented or even misrepresented. Unfortunately, the government is a
large part of everyone s lives and many of the decisions can be viewed as
questionable. From local to state, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
No representation and even virtual representation will not work in this country. In
society, the only way to have opinions heard is collectively. I urge citizens to
demand that their government listen to the people. The only difference between
the rich and the poor is pieces of paper. Intellect crosses class lines, and the
government needs to know that. Belonging to a bourgeois family myself, I have
dealt with the struggle of voicing my opinions and have actively tried to make
change. If our homeland continues down this path of misrepresentation, there may
perhaps be great deal of consequences our country will have to face. Our nation was
built on a set of standards only to be tarnished by the corrupt ways of our
administration. These ways in which the rich are favored due to the simple fact that
they have money in their possession. The poor have ideas, thoughts, and feelings,
too. The middle class has much of the same. It is basic human rights to be listened
to and appreciated. A prodigious deal of grief must be felt for the public who just
stand idle knowing that they can, in mass numbers, have their invisibility removed.
Seeing the number of struggles through our society, we need to reflect on errors
made throughout history to insure that we do not repeat those mistakes. In 2016,
our nation will elect a new leader, and it is the hope of all middle to lower class
Americans that this new leader will have the
Reflection Of Lolita
Having read Lolita before this one, I was in a divided mind whether to bring the
book home. Not that Lolita was bad , no chance of that, but it exerted an
impression which I would love to liken to a massive dose of LSD: lovely
exasperating, trippy to the max, to a certain extent very similar to a case of
migraine. Unfortunately, the black butterfly on its cover knew my dilemma and
blinked with me. I brought the book, and soon envisioned myself getting stuck in
the same vein of chaos of words, metaphors, excessively equivocal language and
bizzare monologues once again. However, to my utmost bewilderment, Laughter
turned out not very elusive as I had expected. I made hardly any endeavor to finish
it all in one light read, and even had time for reflective pauses during and after
reading. Wow, is it me or the tale monster really that easy to tame this time?... Show

Difference Between Action And Comedy

be interchangeable if the correct script comes handy. The situations in which an

Johnny Appleseed Essay
The legend of Johnny Appleseed developed from the historical account of John
Chapman because the two characters have many similarities in their traits and their
journey. Basically, Johnny Appleseed and Jonathan Chapman are the same people,
but the legend exaggerates his character traits, and the historical accounts state the
facts about him. In both accounts, he is very religious because he has his Bible, which
shows Christian belief, with him. The two people also plant apple trees throughout
the frontiers of America. Johnny Appleseed/John Chapman endured many hardships,
but Johnny Appleseed endured more difficulties than John Chapman. Therefore, the
legendof Johnny Appleseed is an exaggeration of the historical account of John
Chapman.

Chapman. He encountered many hardships in his journey to the frontiers of
America. Summer and winter he wore only a burlap sack cut with armholes and a
cooking pot as a hat... He slept outdoors and ate only meals of bread and milk so as
not to harm any creature in the pursuit of food. Even those nights when a frontier

hardships John Chapman faced, and much more. This shows that the makers of the
legend of Johnny Appleseed used the real John Chapman s hardship and endurance
as well as adding more hardships to make the legend more entertaining. John
Chapman also wore a burlap sack and a cooking pot as a hat, as described in the
historical text, but he didn t do the other things listed above. Therefore, people like to

Socrates On Death
With the end of his trial and fate of his life determined, Socrates was sentenced to
death. Though, he was not surprised that they found him guilty and sentenced him to
death, it was quite peculiar the outcome of the votes that found him guilty were not
vastly far apart compared to the people who voted to sentence him to death. While
pondering over he thought of his death, Socratesgave his own perspective on the
possibilities on what could be after he is executed. Though he gave a relatable
perspective on death which was relatively optimistic, my own view is moderately
different than that of Socrates. After his fate is determined, Socrates articulates that
he is not as much as concerned with avoiding death as he is to avoiding
unrighteousness, which he says is faster than death... Show more content on

Comparison of Different Types of Blood Pumps
Comparison of different types of blood pumps
Nowadays, there are two main types of blood pumps: kinetic pumps and positive
displacement pumps.
Kinetic pumps:
Centrifugal pump is one of the most familiar kinetic pumps. A centrifugal pump
converts the input power to kinetic energy in the liquid by accelerating the liquid by a
revolving device an impeller. The most common type is the volute pump. Fluid enters
the pump through the eye of the impeller which rotates at high speed. The fluid is
accelerated radically outward from the pump chasing. A vacuum is created at the
impellers eye that continuously draws more fluid into the pump. The energy created
by the pump is kinetic energy according the Bernoulli Equation. The energy

Summary:
Shockwave is a short duration acoustic wave that carries energy and can be used as

shockwaves first started to affect swimmers on a South Pacific beach. Extracorporeal
shockwave therapy (ESWT) is a noninvasive treatment that delivers high or low

To get a better understanding of shockwave therapy, it is important to have a basic
understanding of the four main types of tissues: epithelial, connective, muscle, and
nervous tissues. According to the interview with Robert Warlick, shockwave therapy
can treat all types of tissues. Epithelial tissues are found throughout the whole body.
They cover internal organs, form the inner lining of body cavities, and lines hollow
organs. Functions of epithelial tissues include protection, secretion, absorption, and
excretion. One of the distinguishing characteristics of epithelial tissues is that they
lack blood vessels. epithelial cells also readily divide, which results in injuries
healing as fast as damaged cells. Sub types of epithelial tissues are classified by their
shape and number of layers of cells. Some examples of epithelial tissues include:
squamous (flattened cells), cuboidal (cube shaped cells), and columnar (tall,
elongated cells). Connective tissues are also known to be found throughout the entire
body. Their function is to bind structures, provide support and protection, fill spaces,
store fat, and produce blood cells. A distinguishing characteristic of connective cells
is that they are farther apart than epithelial cells with extracellular matrix in between.
Connective tissues have many different cell types. Fixed cells, such as fibroblasts and

Freedom writers is a story about struggles and will to make a change that debuted

Her impersonator acting style made her a more effective actress because not only
does she portrays the character accurately, she becomes the character. With that being
said, she seems to be the perfect person for the role. This statement is proven many
times throughout the film. In the beginning of the film she enters a chaotic classroom

portrayal of the character was so convincing that you started to believe she is a shy

The emotion she conveyed was so powerful you would think she really is a teacher

Hillary swank being quite effective as an actress portraying the role.
The protagonist of the film is Erin Gruwell, a first time teacher with the thirst for
change. The film begins with her interview to become a new teacher for a high
school in the projects. The film follows her journey from a new teacher that was
timid with a class not wanting to learn, to a confident teacher with a class full of
students who thirst for knowledge. The antagonist of the film is Margret camp,
because she does everything in her power to stop Erin from progressing with her
students. This opposition includes refusing to give the students the required books
she asked for and permission to go on a field trip with the students. The foil of the
film was Brian Gelford who was the juniors teacher, because he was pessimistic
toward the students academic outcome compared to Erin s optimism. This statement
is shown through the discussion the two had in the teachers lounge,
Systems Model And Its Components Essay
Introduction Key performance indicators are utilized for the purpose of measuring
the success of the organizational outcomes. An organization can use key performance
indicators measurements to evaluate areas, such as employee performance,
employment turnover rates, or profit levels. The purpose of this paper is to identify a
systems model and its components, offer information about how systems model
provides a comparison of different organizations, discuss the Baldrige and AQIP
programs, confer the difference between improving key performance indicators and

performance indicators and a study of organizational processes.
A Systems Model and Its Components A system model is a model of a system broken
down into subsystems. These subsystems make up a whole organizational system;
thus, they allow improvement in various areas ensuring that the organization is
functioning according to its goals. Components that make up an organizational
system in a corporation that rely upon excellent customer service to measure growth
include, evaluating the corporation through its workers and feedback from customers.
The stakeholder is the corporation and the stakeholder group is the workers. The
process is customer service. customer. An overlapping relationship is the result of this

Workplace pressure
Several authors, Van der Lippe (2207), Mishra (2011), Shivaprasad (2013) write
that workplace pressure is an unavoidable factor of living and working in the
contemporary world. A reasonable amount of pressure at an acceptable level will
have the tendency to keep workers alert, motivated and willing to learn. However,
there are times when the pressure may become too much and this may lead to stress.
According to Chrousos (2009) and Shivaprasad (2013) the emotion of stress is often a
harmful response to the demands of the activity of nursing and the nurse s own
emotional capability. The environments in which mental health nurses are employed
inevitably generate intensity and a diversity of stressors related to the nature of the
consumers being treated. Ward (2011) writes that at times the consumer may become
unpredictable and aggressive which in itself creates a hostile environment. Laal and
Alirmaie (2010), write that stress related disorders do occur among all nurses but
particularly among mental health nurses at all levels but particularly those on the
front line (Ward, 2011). If this stress is uncompensated it may lead to
depersonalization and when combined with other uncompensated emotions may
progress to the syndrome known as burnout.
The concept of burnout
Adams, Boscarino Figley, (2006) and Wilkins (2007) write that providing care can
both be highly rewarding and yet highly stressful with the result at times being an
adverse outcome

The leadership of Great Britain, radar, and the Royal Air Force without a doubt were

Even though there are many different extracurricular activities not many people get
involved. There are many different reasons as to why people at a community
college do not go the extra mile to get involved. Pannoni shares that one reason
students do not get involved because many students work and don t have much time
to be involved in anything other than getting a degree or taking classes... [and]
many students who weren t on campus when events were happening didn t want to
make a special trip just to attend. (Pannoni 5). The main reason students did not
want to make a trip to campus to attend an event is because a lot of students who
attend a community college commute. The difference in experience reflects on the
cost of universities and colleges. The costs vary drastically between universities and
community colleges. It is no secret that universities cost is way more expensive than
community colleges. In California, there are three different types of post secondary
schools. The three types of schools are public universities (CSUs and UCs) , private
universities, and community colleges. Each type of school has a different price. The
first type of public universities in California is the California State University system.

Examples Of Hubris In Into The Wild
In the movie Into The Wild and the article Death Of The Innocent the character
Chris portrays a great deal of Hubris. There are many reasons why he is very self
confident. The first reason is when he takes a harder and longer route to Alaska.
He suffered from hubris because he doesn t think he will die; considering that
many people died taking the route Chris wants to take. An example from the story
is the time he canoed for hundreds of miles and crossed the Mexican international
border. In that journey Chris could have gotten jailed for a long time for crossing an
international border illegally or possibly killed. As the text states, If this adventure
proves fatal, I want you to know you re a great man. The second reason is when
A Clean, Well-Lighted Place
In Ernest Hemingway s A Clean, Well Lighted Place, Hemingway introduces a
protagonist, the old man, as a loner who is more distinct due to his deafness. The old
man s isolation stems from his deafness. Hemingway highlights interior contrasts like
old and young between the characters. Hemingway emphasizes exterior contrasts
such as light and dark through setting. Both waiters and the old man s ideals are
challenged by the nothingness that society entails. Hemingway illustrates alienation
and existentialismthrough the atmospheric setting and contentious dialogue.
Hemingway emphasizes alienation through the setting of the cafГ©. The old man s
separation from society is evident in the first sentencewhere he sits in the shadow the
leaves of the tree made against the electric light (Hemingway 105). It is the initial

The older waiter who believes he lacks everything but work exemplifies the
characteristics of existentialism (Hemingway 107). The old waiter deconstructs
the Our Father because he too has lost faith similar to the old man. Hemingway
draws a correlation between the old man and the older waiter when the older
waiter states, Nor can you stand before a bar with dignity although that is all that
is provided for these hours (107). The old man left walking with dignity because it
was his own decision, similar to the choice of suicide. In both cases, the old man is
constructing his own version of reality. The older waiter clings to the cafГ© unlike
the bar he notices. The older waiter orders A little cup that is filled with coffee
which indicates an even stronger connection to the cafГ© (Hemingway 108). The
older waiter believes in nothingness because his life is consistent. The older waiter
desires from his life light and a certain cleanness and order (Hemingway 107).
Hemingway utilizes the older waiter to introduce the belief system of

Extended Definition Essay Sample.pdf

  • 1. Extended Definition Essay Sample Crafting an Extended Definition Essay Sample can be a challenging yet rewarding task, demanding a nuanced understanding of the chosen concept and the ability to express it with depth and clarity. Unlike typical essays, an extended definition essay requires more than just a surface-level exploration of a term; it necessitates a comprehensive analysis that delves into the various facets and nuances that define the concept. One of the primary challenges lies in choosing the right term for exploration. The selected term should be broad enough to allow for an in-depth analysis but specific enough to maintain focus. The writer must possess a clear understanding of the chosen concept, which often involves extensive research and exploration to grasp its various dimensions and interpretations. Structuring the essay poses another hurdle. The writer must decide on a coherent and logical organization that effectively communicates the different aspects of the term. This often involves breaking down the concept into subtopics, each contributing to the overall understanding. Striking the right balance between depth and conciseness is crucial, as an overly verbose essay may lose its impact, while one that is too brief might lack substance. Furthermore, maintaining a consistent tone and style throughout the essay is essential. The writer must ensure that their voice aligns with the nature of the chosen concept, whether it be formal, informal, technical, or creative. Achieving this coherence adds an additional layer of complexity to the writing process. In terms of content, providing a nuanced definition goes beyond a mere dictionary explanation. The writer must explore the historical, cultural, and contextual dimensions of the term, offering readers a comprehensive view. This requires a keen analytical mind and the ability to synthesize information from various sources. Concluding the essay with a satisfying resolution can be challenging. Wrapping up an extended definition essay involves summarizing key points, offering personal insights, and leaving a lasting impression on the reader. Crafting a conclusion that ties together the diverse elements of the essay while maintaining clarity and impact is a task that requires finesse and skill. In conclusion, writing an extended definition essay sample is a complex endeavor that demands a deep understanding of the chosen concept, effective organization, and the ability to convey thoughts with clarity and coherence. It is a process that requires dedication, research, and careful consideration of language and structure. For those seeking assistance with such essays or similar writing tasks, various services, including HelpWriting.net, offer professional support and guidance. • 2. Analysis of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care... Introduction In 2010, the United States took the first tangible step toward universal health care coverage, with the legalization of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010. According to the U.S. Census Bureau s most recent report the total population of the United States is nearly 309 million people (U.S. Census Bureau, 2010). In 2009, it was estimated 49 % of the population was covered under an employer sponsored insurance plan (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2009). The same 2009 data reported an additional 29 % of the population was covered under some form of government or public program (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2009). The U.S. Census Bureau reported in the 2010 census data that 33.9 % of the population was under the age of 24, with 26.9% under the age of 19. This change will protect the more than 7% of the population from vulnerability that might arise from losing their insurance coverage. In total an estimated 2.3 million adult children were enrolled in their parent s employer sponsored health plan due to the Affordable Care Act (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2011). Reports show that the young adult demographic recognize the importance of health care coverage and have started to take advantage of this new benefit. Business reported an increase in the enrolled number of adult children who would not be covered without the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 (Kaiser Family Foundation, 2011). In addition to an expansion of who is covered by insurance plans there were also significant changes made to what is covered by insurance plans. Insurance carriers will no deny health care coverage to individuals because of pre existing conditions (OpenCongress). This is an advantage for individuals that cannot find coverage due to chronic conditions. The new legislation also prohibits a health plan from canceling coverage of a member unless there is evidence of fraud (OpenCongress). Insurance companies will no longer be allowed to dis enroll members when they have
  • 3. Donald Trump Persuasive Essay Donald Trump does not deserve to represent our country as president. His harsh comments he has said can sometimes be seen as racial comments. He thinks that what he says is fair because of how bad our country is at the moment and he wants us to open our eyes to all that is happening. Donald Trump is one to say things that most of the time come off as a rude and racist comments to those listening to what he has to say. A few of those times he has false claims about things he really doesn t know the full story of. He said, I watched in Jersey City, New Jersey, where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down (Trump, 2015). There just so happened to be a large Arab population in Jersey City, New Jersey and they watched as the World Trade Center came down on 9/11. A lieutenant said, . . .there are no indicators that this ever happened (Hertling, 2015). What lieutenant General Mark Hertling said that his statements were false and that they were not helpful to the commanders on the ground. The worst part about Donald Trumps false claims is that his supporters actually stand by him and say that what he saw was correct. The men and women that support all that he does from all over the world actually called in and said that what he... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He said, I would bomb those suckers. And that s right. I d blow up the pipes, I d blow up the refiners, I d blow up every single inch that there would be nothing left. I would take their oil (Trump, 2015). For Donald Trump to say this, he would have to know where this group must be. He thinks that if we were to go after the families of the men and women in the ISIS group, we could take them down. Everyone must care for someone in this world and even the members of ISIS are capable of caring for their own family members. So he believes that if we take down the families of ISIS members, ISIS will also come down with those family

Many of the similarities can be seen in appearances and genetic code though their behavior is a lot more similar than some would think. The page also wants to convey that it will address some of the ways that humanand other primates are similar and different. However, we can see that this is not the reality but rather often times it can be oppressive, constraining, and enforces discriminatory legislation or policies that directly or indirectly works to target certain groups of people. This is especially evident when we look at the criminal laws which criminalize non able bodied and terminally ill individuals, who seek out assistance in dying because they feel that their life is no longer worth living, and as a result takes away their dignity and right to autonomy. The mesothelium produces a lubricating fluid that allows organs within it to move and glide easily. The fluid allows the lungs to breathe and the heart to expand and contract without creating any type of internal friction. Why Is It Morally Permissible To Turn The Runaway Trolley To begin with, the Trolley case is an experiment where you are put into a situation where you are on a runaway trolley where the breaks do not work and you are headed for five people and you can either hit the five people, killing them or save them by turning the trolley hitting one person and killing him. There is another scenario called the Footbridge case where you are in the same situation but in order to save the five people you have to push a fat man off a bridge stopping the trolley. This is very interesting experiment that questions human ethicsand morality. It makes you think whether or not it is morally permissible to turn the trolley. I argue that there is an important moral difference between the Trolley case and the Footbridge case because there is a difference between letting someone die to save people and killing someone to save people.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I disagree with Thompson that it would be impermissible to re direct the trolley because even though in both cases one person dies from an action you take, the action has different moral standards of reason of what is right and what is wrong. Most people believe this because they know that there is a distinct moral difference between incidentally killing someone and intentionally killing someone. Intentionally killing some one is a universal law that has serious consequences which is why people view pushing the fat man off the bridge as

This timeless piece of history was first recorded on August 10th, 1920 by Mamie Smith and later released on as a vinyl record by Okeh Records.3 Smith s version of the song was wildly successful, selling 75,000 copies in the first month following its release. Within a year, the record had sold over a million copies, and in all, two million copies were purchased.4 After its incredible success, recording companies rushed to record other African American singers. Noble Sissle s version was recorded later that same year, and had similar success. Despite the large quantity of blues recordings during the 1920 s, Crazy Blues is considered the first successful blues song recorded by an African American artist.9 Ironically, Crazy Blues is considered more of a popular song than a blues song despite many references to blues throughout the track. Nevertheless, this song paved the way for black music makers into a then predominately white recording industry, and quickly after its release, a market for black music emerged. Perry Bradford, who wrote Crazy Blues , also persuaded several record companies to invest in a music market specifically for blacks.9 After record companies realized the lucrativeness of selling race

I do believe that had college football leadership been less uniform and remembered the fact that the lives affected by these scandals were more important than the game of football, there may have been less victims, and the resulting consequences would have been far less severe. The majority of historical scandals involving college football involve paying football players, cheating, and in some cases more severe allegations of sexual misconduct like those of Penn State and Nebraska. Nebraska had allegations of multiple players playing watch out while another player raped multiple victims. Many colleges have been caught in scandal only to repeat the same scandal over and over until the NCAA drops the ball on them. Coaches are known to have the attitude that wins are more important than anything else. Perhaps this culture comes from the high turnover level of coaches who fail to present a winning team. Using a MAD also helps to strengthen the airway as it makes the tongue muscle more active, as well other airway muscles. The Pullman Strike of 1894 The Pullman Strike of 1894 was the first national strike in American history and it came about during a period of unrest with labor unions and controversy regarding the role of government in business.5 The strike officially started when employees organized and went to their supervisors to ask for a lowered rent and were refused.5 The strike had many different causes. For example, workers wanted higher wages and fewer working hours, but the companies would not give it to them; and the workers wanted better, more affordable living quarters, but the companies would not offer that to them either. They would fire upon and kill American citizens. The Pullman strike brought to glaring attention the labor problems in America and the labor question in American politics; the labor problems being the unrest and discontentment of the workers, and the labor problem being the role of the government in business. One of the consequences of the Pullman Strike is that labor reformers began to vigorously search for a way of protecting the interests of the workers in an unfettered capitalist economy. Another consequence is that American workers realized that when they were in bad situations, they would never have the opportunity for improvement unless they orchestrated the government through an overwhelming turnout at different elections. If workers used the Socialist Party and democratic elections, the power of their numbers would ensure the election of political leaders sympathetic to their cause .2 Eugene Debs, the leader of the Pullman Strike, was jailed, not for the strike, but for ignoring an injunction that was put on the strikers. Not that Lolita was bad , no chance of that, but it exerted an impression which I would love to liken to a massive dose of LSD: lovely exasperating, trippy to the max, to a certain extent very similar to a case of migraine. Unfortunately, the black butterfly on its cover knew my dilemma and blinked with me. I brought the book, and soon envisioned myself getting stuck in the same vein of chaos of words, metaphors, excessively equivocal language and bizzare monologues once again. However, to my utmost bewilderment, Laughter turned out not very elusive as I had expected. I made hardly any endeavor to finish it all in one light read, and even had time for reflective pauses during and after reading. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To get a better understanding of shockwave therapy, it is important to have a basic understanding of the four main types of tissues: epithelial, connective, muscle, and nervous tissues. According to the interview with Robert Warlick, shockwave therapy can treat all types of tissues. Epithelial tissues are found throughout the whole body. They cover internal organs, form the inner lining of body cavities, and lines hollow organs. Functions of epithelial tissues include protection, secretion, absorption, and excretion. One of the distinguishing characteristics of epithelial tissues is that they lack blood vessels. epithelial cells also readily divide, which results in injuries healing as fast as damaged cells. Sub types of epithelial tissues are classified by their shape and number of layers of cells. Some examples of epithelial tissues include: squamous (flattened cells), cuboidal (cube shaped cells), and columnar (tall, elongated cells). Connective tissues are also known to be found throughout the entire body. Their function is to bind structures, provide support and protection, fill spaces, store fat, and produce blood cells. A distinguishing characteristic of connective cells is that they are farther apart than epithelial cells with extracellular matrix in between. Connective tissues have many different cell types. Workplace pressure Several authors, Van der Lippe (2207), Mishra (2011), Shivaprasad (2013) write that workplace pressure is an unavoidable factor of living and working in the contemporary world. A reasonable amount of pressure at an acceptable level will have the tendency to keep workers alert, motivated and willing to learn. However, there are times when the pressure may become too much and this may lead to stress. According to Chrousos (2009) and Shivaprasad (2013) the emotion of stress is often a harmful response to the demands of the activity of nursing and the nurse s own emotional capability. The environments in which mental health nurses are employed inevitably generate intensity and a diversity of stressors related to the nature of the consumers being treated. Ward (2011) writes that at times the consumer may become unpredictable and aggressive which in itself creates a hostile environment. Laal and Alirmaie (2010), write that stress related disorders do occur among all nurses but particularly among mental health nurses at all levels but particularly those on the front line (Ward, 2011). If this stress is uncompensated it may lead to depersonalization and when combined with other uncompensated emotions may progress to the syndrome known as burnout. The concept of burnout Adams, Boscarino Figley, (2006) and Wilkins (2007) write that providing care can both be highly rewarding and yet highly stressful with the result at times being an adverse outcome
