Abstract For the experiment, the changes of temperature on anaerobic fermentation
the process in which cells undergo respiration without oxygen in Saccharomyces
cerevisiae was observed. The purpose of this experiment was to test the effect of four
different temperatures on the rate of carbon dioxide production in yeast by measuring
the fermentation rate. Saccharomyces cereviviae, also known as Baker s yeast, is a
unicellular, eukaryotic sac fungus and is good for this experiment because of its
characteristic of alcohol fermentation. It was hypothesized that fermentation increases
with increased temperature to a point of 37В°C; above that point, enzyme denaturing
will occur and fermentation will decrease. The group was able to document the
carbon dioxide production and mark each of the temperature intervals which were
tested at temperatures 4В°C (refrigerator temperature), 23В°C (Room temperature),
37В°C (Human body temperature) and 65В° Celsius (Equal to 150В°F). The
experiment was conducted by pouring yeast solution with 2% glucose in fermentation
tubes, placing the tubes in the appropriate incubation temperature, marking the rise of

Feminism is defined as the theory of the political, economic, and social equality of
the sexes. Eavan Boland and Anne sexton share more than just their love of poetry,
they both incorporated female struggles and feminist ideas into their poetry. In a
close reading of the poems Her Kind, by Anne Sexton and Anorexic, by Eavan
Boland, the themes and the overall feel and struggles of the characters in both poems
are very similar; they both use historical and biblical references that demean women
and they both use strong female stereotypes that are going through personal struggles.

With the help of imagery, this poem tells the story of a woman beaten down,
victimized, and rejected by society. In the last stanza Sexton writes where your
flames still bite my thigh (18) and my ribs crack where your wheels wind , these
are powerful pictures that exemplify a woman being accused of being a witch,
being tortured like in the sixteenth century when this was deemed acceptable. She
uses this comparison to express to just what extent society has beaten down this
woman and just how much pain is inflicted. This poem is of a woman who is
struggling to stand up for herself alone, for her freedom and liberty and is viewed
by others as a rebel and as a negative addition to the public. Society shuns her,
discriminates her and in a metaphorical way torture to the point where she realises
that she will in fact die trying. A woman like that is not afraid to die (20) states
that this misunderstood woman, misunderstood because woman s freedom is
actually a positive thing but in a dominant male society is viewed as bad, is ready
to die for her cause. She will die a martyr as long as she does not give up what she
believes in and in this poem it is woman s freedom and independence. Anne sexton
delivers this message even more powerfully with the rhyme scheme and the stresses
on strong words.

ceased to exist so easily. Somehow, it continued to grow despite 150 years of such

Examine and assess how political order is made and repaired.
In this TMA I will examine and assess how political order is made mainly through
the state. In order to create, maintain and repair political order, the state needs
authority from its citizens to do so and this authority needs to be legitimate.
Legitimacy refers to a belief in the states rightness, its right to rule or the idea that its
authority is proper. I will then explain how today, legitimacy is closely linked to
democracy and it is through free and fair elections that the state receives legitimacy.

One way citizens can legitimise their relationship with the state is through citizenship
ceremonies however most citizens do not attend such ceremonies.
Many of the everyday practises and discourses of the state, its discourses, its symbols
and the ways in which state actors and institutions represent themselves to the people,
are involved in the process of legitimation; that is to say, the states claim of
legitimacy from its citizens. So through peoples everyday practises and activities like
paying taxes or taking the car for an MOT individuals are involved in the making and

It all started at my house, my safe place, if you will. I see my dog, she is excited
for the ride. We are about to start our journey, but we need to pack our bags. I am
packing and my eyes are drooping because it is early in the morning. I finally get
done and we put our stuff in the car. I get in and I hear the engine turning and then
a constant buzzing sound, the car is on. 3....2....1.... We start our journey as we
unite rubber to the cement. I roll down the window and take a deep breath of fresh

The Effects of the French Revolution on the World
After the American Revolutionary War the French were left with millions of
dollars in debt because of their efforts to help the U.S defeat the British. Charles
Alexandre de Calonne, the Controller General of Finances in 1786 attempted to fix
the money problem but his ideas on reform offended the French Parliament so much
that Louis XVI was forced to dismiss him. The Controller General of Finances who
was appointed after him, LomГ©nie de Brienne found that in order to fix the money
problems he was forced to revert to the previously suggested reforms and King Louis
XVI registered them without the approval of Parliament. This led to opposition
between Parliament and the King, which eventually spread to all of France. Violent
riots broke out in towns across France, marking the beginning of the French
Revolution (Furet 49 51). The ideas and documents created as a result of the French
revolution may have had a significant impact on human rights and modernized law
and politics throughout the world.
