and even human remains, people have always been insanely curious as to how these

Rowlandson was a colonial woman in America who was captured during the King
Philip s War by the Native Americans. While she was captured, she was held for

and restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson, which is also known as The Sovereignty
and Goodness of God. During these weeks, she experienced physical abuse,
starvation, and saw many friends, and her youngest daughter Sarah killed. This
story is considered to be one of America s first bestsellers when it was first publish
in 1682. Mary was born in 1637, in England and moved to present day New England
when she was a child. Growing up her father helped found the town of Lancaster, and
was one of the wealthiest men there. In 1656 at the age of 19, Mary married
Reverend Joseph Rowlandson. Together, the couple has four children, three of which
survived infancy. When the war broke out between the Native Americans and the

Research has proposed a visual phenomenon that implies that everyone has a visual
blind spot a small region in each eye that cannot see our surroundings. This
phenomenon brings about the theory of inattentional blindness; that we sometimes
miss opportunities or events because we are focusing on something else. The
concept rose from Harvard psychologists Daniel J Simons and Christopher F
Chabris 1999 Gorillas in our midst study. Their aim was to study the psychology of
vision, doing so by creating four 75 seconds films involving two team of 3 players,
one team wearing white tops and the other wearing black, moving around passing 2
balls continuously. Two conditions were used; after 44 48 s either a woman holding
an umbrella would appear in the film or a woman in a gorilla costume would appear.
Participants were asked to watch and observe the videos and monitor the balls being

Griselda is obedient, subservient, submissive, and totally devoted to her husband and
authority figure, the Prince, and in the end is rewarded for these traits. Instead of
destroying or limiting the social expectations of women to be obedient and
submissive; Perrault actually worked to further them.
The Grimm Brothers stabilized the weak and submissive character in the fairy tale
genres with stories like Cinderella, and added in the idea of a higher moral authority
that the women must be obedient to above all else. Cinderella s mother tells he
that if she is good and pious, then the dear lord will always assist [her] and [her
mother] shall look down from heaven and take care of [her] (Grimm, 468). The
mother dies soon after and Cinderella s father takes a second wife and two
stepdaughters who forced Cinderella to be a slave in the house. The stepsisters did
everything imaginable to cause [Cinderella] grief and make [Cinderella] look
ridiculous. (Grimm, 468) The king announces he will hold a three day festival, and
invites the stepmother and her daughters. The stepmother tells Cinderella she may
come to the ball only if she can pick out all the lentils the stepmother had emptied into
the ashes in the fire place in two hours, [Cinderella] may have [the stepmother s]
permission to go (Grimm, 469). Cinderella completes her task, but the stepmother
