This is my English project which goes in depth about the concept of These Things We All Should Have and is very informative.

1. These Things We All Should Have

Poverty- It’s not a them problem, it’s an us problem. We
need to help us. –John Green

2. What’s my project about?
• My project is about exposing truths about this
world of ours and the hardships that many of
the people in it must endure. It is also about
ways to overcome these hardships. There are a
lot of things which we take for granted in every
day life that others don’t have access to. I wish
to change this fact and make necessities open to
everyone who needs them.

3. What are things we all should have?
• Here are a list of things I think should be open
to all people on a global scale-
– Clean Water
– Education
– Immunizations
– Access to Food
– That is, just to name a few. These issues have
persistently existed largely in 3rd World places such
Sub- Saharan Africa and South Asia and have
continued into this modern era.

4. Some Statistics
• It is estimated that nearly 10% of global
disease could be reduced through
improved water supply, sanitation,
hygiene, and water resource management.
• It costs no more than 5 dollars for a child
in Bangladesh to attend school for 6
months, yet many children end up
dropping out each year.
• About 3.3 billion people – half of the
world's population – are at risk of malaria.
Very few of these have access to
immunizations, or even nets to keep
mosquitoes off them at night.

5. How do we fix this?
• These facts would be staggering to anyone. The
fact that such suffering exists in the modern
world is ridiculous. No one is rich enough to
find the ultimate solutions to these problems,
but many are able to at least help through
donations and charities of the non- scam kind.
We are infinitely more fortunate than those who
suffer these hardships, and if we can spare some
assistance, then that’s what we should do.

6. UnCultured- Some People Choose to Make
a Difference
• Uncultured is simply a project started by a man who
dropped out of grad school and went to
Bangladesh, using his savings to try and make a
difference by raising awareness about the conditions
the people there are living with.
• This group teams up with other organizations and
so far has built a well to provide clean water to a
village, rebuilt a high school, and helped more than
10,000 children through a health- worker program,
just to name a few achievements.

7. Two Worthy Charities
• The Foundation to Decrease WorldSuck- Uses
money donated to go to a cause of the donators
choice using votes and the Project for Awesome
on Youtube.
• Save the Children- Well known, reliable charity
that uses money to help children in developing
countries receive better education and living
conditions.

8. It’s All About Doing What You Can
• This is our world, and it’s our responsibility to
take care of it’s inhabitants. We have a long way
to go if we ever want to truly improve the lives
of those so far away from us, those who deserve
the same things we are entitled to. This doesn’t
mean giving all of our money away or moving to
Bangladesh, but simply remaining aware of the
issues that face our fellow global citizens.
