This document summarizes a finite element analysis of thermal properties during welding of T-joint stainless steel plates. It describes: 1) Modeling the welded plates using 3D solid elements and applying a moving circular heat source to model the welding process. 2) Analyzing the model to determine temperature distributions and histories using properties of 304L stainless steel at different temperatures. 3) The analysis uses a Gaussian distributed heat source model and finite element method to simulate the complex 3-dimensional heat transfer during welding, providing more accurate temperature predictions than simplified point or line heat sources.
