Psychologist Howard Gardner developed the Theory of Multiple Intelligences which posits that intelligence is not a single general ability but rather consists of at least eight specific intelligences: musical-rhythmic, bodily-kinesthetic, logical-mathematical, linguistic-verbal, spatial-visual, interpersonal, intrapersonal, and naturalist. Each intelligence involves a different skill set and people vary in their strengths across the different intelligences.
