Human life is a gift from God that is sacred, mysterious, and inviolable. We are called to be stewards, not owners, of our lives and protect life from conception to natural death. While vices like smoking, drinking, and drugs can indirectly attack life through health risks and negative behaviors, we should pursue virtue instead and make choices that care for our lives and the lives of others.

of human life is God. He is the
Lord and Giver of life, in whom
we live and move and have our
being’.
