Drug Trafficking In Panama
Political Solution Drug Trafficking: Not only is drug trafficking a major concern for Panama
internally, but it is also a large issue externally, mainly in regards to their border disputes with its
neighboring countries. As mentioned earlier in Panama s Three Major Issues, according to CIA
World Factbook, Organized illegal narcotics operations in Colombiaoperate within the remote
border region with Panama , and historically Panama has been ...the destination of choice for
smurfed money orders... (Andelman). In order to make a dent in the drugtrafficking issue, Panama
needs to cohesively work with neighboring countries. This can be done by making major
improvements in the government and military. One suggestion presented by President... Show more

In order to help the millions of men, women, and children who are victims of trafficking, Panama
has many suggestions available to them. As mentioned in the Panama s Three Major Issues, The
U.S. Department of State reports: No [Panamanian] law expressly prohibits forced labor of adults or
children, although the government stated that forced labor could be prosecuted under provisions of
constitutional law and other civil and criminal statutes. Economically, many businesses thrive off of
human trafficking as a way to increase production by holding down the price of goods, mainly since
the workers are being paid less. Therefore, the Panamanian government first should start by setting
strict laws prohibiting labor trafficking. Although this will hurt the economy, millions of human
rights violations occur every year, which is the important matter. The Panamanian government can
make up for this in other ways. Also, Panama can help the situation by working with the United
Nations. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) works to help root out human
trafficking, and the UNODC ...offers practical help to States, not only helping to draft laws and
create comprehensive national anti trafficking strategies but also assisting with resources to
implement them. Therefore, Panama should closely work with the UNODC to help put an end to

Mctezuma s Greeting To Hernan Cortes
Moctezuma s greeting to Hernan Cortes The author of the letter is Hernan Cortes, which is
addressed to the emperor Carlos V., and was written in 1519. The goal of Cortes s letter was to
inform the emperor of his interactions with king Moctezuma when he and his men entered the
Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan. And based on his description of Moctezuma s behavior and speech, it
appears that Moctezuma did not show fear, but, was rather welcoming and accepting of the
European foreigners. Moctezuma explains the writings of his ancestors, which form his and the
people of Tenochtitlan s beliefs. By stating, that the people in Tenochtitlan were not natives of the
land, but were foreigners themselves that were brought by a powerful leader as subordinates.

Causes And Failures Of Hurricane Katrina
Katrina Failures
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, multiple failures exposed communication breakdowns, roles
and responsibilities. Civil unrest followed after local law enforcement, abandoned their legal
duties. Historically, the Posse Comitatus Act created barriers. These barriers slowed down the
response of federal support. The President and governor struggled over control of the National
Guard. The city of New Orleans suffered economically and through loss of life. With the pullout of
the police, they fell into a different category that called for implantation of martial law using an
outside policing force. The actions of Governor Blanco are ill prepared at most. Post Katrina in
Louisiana was painfully obvious as the total failure of state and federal government s anger looms
towards the revision of an outdated law.
Actions
The Posse Comitatus Act says that Whoever, except in cases and under circumstances expressly
authorized by the Constitution or Act of Congress, willfully uses any part of the Army or the
Air Force as a Posse Comitatus or otherwise to execute the laws shall be fined under this title or
imprisoned not more than two years, or both. (Added Aug. 10, 1956, ch. 1041, В§ 18(a), 70A

The influence of the population health is based on the role of the government but is not limited
within the health sector but by various sectors outside the health systems. The health system is
strengthened by the human resource development and the capacity to build and regulate the public
health in the important areas of the healthsector. The contributions to the health population are
derived from the social determinants of health such as the living conditions, education, and the
social security measures. Other areas for action are the population stabilization, reducing the impact
of climate change on health and improving the community participation. Making public healtha

Karl Marx’s Views on Today’s Society
In the market place of today there are high skilled workers and low skilled workers. The high
skilled workers have control of the market due to their credentials as the owners did in the past,
since the market has moved from the owners operating the businesses. The low skilled workers
fall into the same class, as they were under Marx s theory as workers however their equivalent is
to that of a serf or a peasant. It seems that Marx would be disgusted with what the market place
had become today. Marx believed that in order to get things done legislatively, make sure that the
laws are followed and that the low skilled workers still have a job, the high skilled workers had to
take control. This control allows the market to function rather... Show more content on

This would not only effect the market having to pay their debt but would have devastating effects
on the markets that aid was given or promised.
Currently the young pay for benefits to be provided to the disabled and the elderly when they hit
the age of retirement. This benefits the disabled and elderly, but leaves the younger generation
with concerns that these same benefits will not be around when they would need them in the
future. This concept also plays a part in a way with the amount of taxes that are paid in by
workers. It seems that the high skilled workers out of paying more in taxes since they are able to
find more deductions, whereas the low skilled workers would not have those same deductions to
use therefore have to pay more in.
According to Marx s Labor theory of value the common low skilled worker in the market of today
is being underpaid and the high skilled workers who run the market are pocketing the difference.
This compounded with the added burden of high taxes and paying for the benefits of the elderly
and disabled is an unstable basis for a market. Marx believed that all low skilled workers needed is
enough money to survive, in the market today the common man wants much more than just to
survive. The feeling of entitlement within the workforce goes against many of Marx s beliefs about
the market. As more and more of the population become educated the amount of low skill worked
decreases, this in turn

Superflab
6 Megavoltage (MV) photons treat many superficial tumors. More importantly, they often
require a bolus to bring the depth of maximum dose closer to the skin surface. Also, a bolus
compensates for uneven skin surfaces or irregular contours on the patient s surface. The depth of
maximum equilibrium describes the depth in which the maximum dose of the formulated
radiation deposited into the skin (Washington Leaver, 2010). Bolus material should be flexible,
pliable, and tissue equivalent. There is no study that compares green Play Doh, orange Play
Doh, water and uncooked rice to Superflab for providing maximum dose buildup, Dmax. Benoit,
Pruitt, and Thrall (2009) assessed the quality of wet gauze compared to Superflab. Using
different sizes and levels of wetness, and variable densities of the bolus material, the investigators
measured each material three times using a 6 MV radiation source. The results were that a wet
gauze with a density of 1.02 g/cm3 had the identical measurement to Superflab. While a smaller
gauze with a density of .75 g/cm3 was not as efficient. Also, wet gauze eliminated air gaps with
the skin surface. The researchers concluded Superflab was least effective in eliminating air gaps

Exploring The Roots Of The Recurring Subjects And Symbols...
After nearly two centuries completely lacking in images, early Christians finally developed a
pictorial language to express their faith. The conventions developed early on would come to define
the middle ages, an entire era of almost exclusively Christian images. Early Christians adopted
classical conventions for their art, which would serve an opposing purpose for outsiders and
initiates. For outsiders, the symbols meant no harm. But to followers of the faith, the images are
loaded with meaning. The meaning inherent in the history of the symbol, when combined with a
biblical context, creates a full and multi faceted iconographic tradition. The purpose of this paper is
to explore the roots of the recurring subjects and symbols evident in the funerary paintings in
Catacombs of Domitilla in Rome.
Funerary paintings and sculpture provide the most thorough evidence of early Christian art. An
exceptional visual tradition has been preserved in the vast network of underground burial systems:
the Roman catacombs. One of the most extensive of these is the Catacomb of Domitilla. Beginning
in the third century CE, the Catacombs of Domitilla housed thousands of bodies from families rich
and poor, and extended for over seventeen kilometers in four distinct subterranean levels. In terms
of style, most of the works are indistinguishable from Roman paintings. If anything, the art style is a
more rushed and cramped version of illusionistic Roman wall painting. The use of iconography is

Reed Supermarket was fighting to keep market share in Columbus, Ohio with a growing number

without expanding into new locations. Reed had to assess which business model could gain two
percent market share by 2011. Reed had three options: a) continue with the model they have and
hope customerloyalty will give them share; b) continue with the model they have but make some
changes; or c) move to an every day low pricemodel. Reed has attractive locations, long hours,

3) Reed had attractive stores and great customer service and many small added things that made
the shopping trip more pleasant. Could Reed s keep these up if they moved to a low price model,
so that they were a low price model but high quality image and store?
Reed s biggest challenge is gaining 2% market share without opening new locations. To gain that
2% requires a huge sales increase. Looking at 2010 sales data, if every other company had flat sales
in 2011, Reed would need an extra 93 million in sales, or an increase of 14%. That is a huge gap to
fill when there are no new stores being opened.
Reed needs to stick with their current model and continue to add premium private labels to
compete with stores like Trader Joe s and Whole Foods. Reed currently only has a margin od [%]
and the % margin between the price index of them and the closet competitors is so small customers
who should at those stores would not even realize the drop.
Reed should stay away from low price models because it will ruin their image and it will not
differentiate them as a company. Currently they are not fighting against these low end stores for
market share and this is [proven in that 10% of the current stores that were opened in the last 5

My First Year Of Learning With The Open University
My first year of learning with the Open University has certainly challenged me. It has proven to
be a huge platform for my academic progress. From various essays and tutors feedback, I am
learning to develop both academic and personal skills as an independent learner. I have been
assigned tasks such as researching for essays using various types of material including books, the
internet and visual material and also reflecting on my learningexperience.
As this was my first exposure to distant learning, I did not know what to expect and now that I am
nearing the end, I feel a mixture of emotions. On one hand I feel a great sense of achievement, but
on the other, the feeling that I would like to have scored a little better in each of my assignments.
Unfortunately it has been a very difficult year for my family and I, but I feel that I have
progressed as a student in being able to overcome the obstacles, pull through and at least keep up
with the course. I refused to give up when times were tough and that determination to some
extent I feel reflected in my continuation on the course. As a result of this, I feel I have I am on
the way to developing skills of time management and organisation, which proved to be essential in
my circumstances and despite having to ask for an extension for TMA 03 and considering doing
so an other occasions, I completed all essays, which in itself is an achievement for me.

History of Bp Oil Spill
BP s Management Crisis The Frontline report, The Spill , which focused on British Petroleum s
problematic management culture and its catastrophic effects, aired on October 26, 2010. Around
then, the oil giant BP had suffered a crisis with its latest off shore oil rig, the Deepwater Horizon.
However, this was just the latest in accidents concerning its oil operations. In the years before the
Deepwater Horizon accident, BP had also suffered major accidents in its oil production fields in
Texas and Alaska. Its CEO, Lord John Browne, had greatly expanded the company by buying off
other oil companies and cutting costs. Unfortunately, Frontline s report suggests the company s sole

Its infrastructure was designed to last until 1987. However, BP still used the outdated
equipment well into the twenty first century. It was obviously cheaper for the company to mine
for oil rather than replace the aging equipment. According to Frontline, BP had only hired
around three hundred contractors to inspect the pipes on the immense oil field. However, even
with so few contractors to survey the pipes, the results were appalling: most if not all the pipes
were dangerously corroded and unsafe for oil transport. In a Washington Post article, BP Alaska
Remains at Risk, Frontline co reporter Abrahm Lustgarten went into detail about the severity of
pipeline corrosion and BP s disregard for safety on the North Slope. BP pipe examiners had
found that over eighty percent of the pipes could rupture. Some pipes were so corroded that they
were a few thousandths of an inch from leaking. Most of the pipes carried highly reactive
hydrocarbons, risking explosion should there be a rupture. Even with so much old pipes, BP
never renovated them. Mark Kovac, a BP engineer, depicted BP s zealous cost cutting and safety
ignorance by saying, They re going to run this out as far as they can without leaving one dollar on
the table when they leave (qtd. in Lustgarten). The dangerous work conditions of the Prudhoe Bay
field prompted workers and their unions to file complaints to BP s management board. However,
the management never followed

Woodrow Wilson The Meaning Of A Liberal Education Summary
Woodrow Wilson s The Meaning of a Liberal Education speech has four main arguments. One point
that he makes is the future is always changing and the school system needs to also, change to keep
up with everything that is going around the world. The next point Wilson makes is, he disagrees
and talks about problems with the institutional education. Another topic Wilson talks about is
liberal and technical education, and the last main argument Wilson talks about is the different types
of knowledge, and everyone has different methods of learning. For the future changing point,
Wilson uses an example about life in the present and in the past, and how complex life and learning
has gotten in modern society. Woodrow Wilson
also, gave an example of a scholar with his door
closed, and his window open. Wilson states The present need is that we should examine
ourselves...to make a radical change, in the things we have attempted (3). Wilson also, talks about
how modern people don t know what to teach their pupils because they don t know what they are
going to be when they are older. In the disagreement and problems with institutional education,
Wilson uses ad hominem. Wilson attacks the modern educational school system, that they tried to
teach everything at once, and in the end they have completely failed at properly teaching a student.

The Lateral And Axial Resolution Of The Microscope
The lateral and axial resolution of the microscope play a key role in biological studies to investigate
the intricate internal mechanisms of the cell. There is a fundamental limitation with the lateral
resolution of the microscope due to the finite wavelength of light. Although, during the past few
years, a large number of solutions have been presented to deal with this problem, e.g., scanning
electron microscopy(SEM), scanning tunnel microscopy (STM), atomic force microscopy (AFM),
optical microscopy is the most interesting high resolution microscopic techniques because of its
capability and compatibility of non contact, minimally invasive observation and measurement of
live specimens. However, Conventional far field microscopic methods suffer from lack of the
sufficient spatial resolution for resolving subcellular structures due to the Abbe diffractionlimit. This
limitation (about 200 nm) caused the emerging of the many super resolution microscopic methods
such as Stimulated Emission Depletion (STED) Microscopy, Structured Illumination Microscopy
(SIM), Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy (STORM), Photo Activated Localization
Microscopy (PALM) and so forth.
Due to its resolution beyond the diffraction limit, its axial sectioning capability (the removal of out
of focus blur), and its high speed imaging, SIM has been applied more than other mentioned super
resolution techniques in fluorescence microscopy. In this method that first time was introduced by

The Testament Of The New Testament
The New Testament is known as the second major part of the Christian biblical cannon. The New
Testament, unlike the Old Testament is responsible for spreading Christianity Theology to the
world. The book was written by the disciples of Jesus. When one hear of the book, one s mind
think about the apostle Paul, since he is the one responsible for a large portion of the book and is
one of the most studied out of the apostles. Paul has written: First Thessalonians, Galatians,
Philemon, Romans and many more. However, with the dates of these gospels going back to
million years ago; no one can truly attribute all the Pauline epistles to him. Titus, Ephesians, and
First and Second Timothy are all in question of the authorship being Paul or one his followers
which has been seen as a common theme in history. Paul s main purpose for writing these letters
was to educate the communities about how to obtain a relationship with the Lord JesusChrist. There
were other letters that he wrote that were foreshadows of the apocalypse and destruction and one
letter that he wrote on behalf of a slave (Letter to Philemon). Galatians is one of those letters
were he is writing to the citizens of Galatia and trying to help the gentile Christians one again.
Paul achieves this by recalling events of his past life, preaching the gospel that was giving him to
by Jesus, and by being expressive and telling the citizens of Galatia that they have betrayed the
Lord Jesus Christ by following the Jewish Laws.

Canadian Tire s Current Data Warehouse
Overview of Canadian Tire s Current Data Warehouse Gathering requirements from end users was
an important step in resolving the issues that currently exist at Canadian Tire. Gathering
requirements for a data warehouse is not the same as defining the requirements for an operational
system (Ponniah, pg. 121). When you research and then develop any system, it is critical that the
system produces exactly what the users need to perform their specific tasks. CTC did not have this
production for their end users. These users typically do not understand the big picture workings of a
data warehousingprocess. Therefore, the help of a business analyst is critical. From the results
provided in the case study, we can agree that these requirements must be addressed:
Capacity constraints
User query times
Defined data model
Full enabling of access to enterprise data
Overview of Canadian Tire s Business Intelligence The current process for CTC to acquire BI is a
broken system. Much of the information derived, from the current data in the warehouse, was
done by FRAG, individual user groups and hired business analysts who extracted data and created
reports. This was creating a serious misallocation of resources and responsibilities throughout the
company. Shadow groups, created to complete some of the required BI tasks, were not only less
efficient than an organized strategy, but were also a security risk to CTC. With small groups taking
over the responsibility of creating BI, the

being on mickeyjunk Mountain gives.
The mountain itself was covered with forgotten Mickey Merchandise. Mickey clocks, telephones,

Beyond the mountain was destroyed by the green pool on thinner.
Leaving only the old projector screens the only way, for toon to even travel to the mountain.
When the black and white rabbit was about to turn something caught his eyes, a stream of blue paint
was hitting where small TV s were thinned, years at the bottom of the mountain.

Flaws Of The Laws Against Sex Offenders
Flaws in our Laws According to the Center for Sex Offender Management It is estimated that
one in every five girls and one in every seven boys are sexually abused by the time they reach
adulthood . The United States has many laws aimed to reduce sexual offenders but the annual
percentages for sexual offenses have stayed the same ever since the laws were established. This
research is not intended to lessen the gravity of sexual offenses but to understand that our laws
against sex offenders are not preventing the sexual offenses. The main problem with the laws
against sex offenders, are the sex offenderregistries, the registries fail to act as a deterrent for
sexual offenses and they encourage vigilante justice. Also, people convicted of a minor sexual
offense face harsh punishments and sex offenders face many restrictions. In order to understand
why the United States sex offender laws are the way they are, we need to know the story behind on
why they were created. In 1993, the Jacob Wetterling Crimes Against Children and Sexually Violent
Offender Registration Actwas established when Jacob Erwin Wetterling, an 11 year old boy, who
was kidnapped, raped, and murdered by a sexual predator, that lived near him. According to the
article Rethinking Sex Offender Registries by Lehrer, Eli, the Jacob Wetterling Crimes Against
Children and Sexually Violent Offender Registration Act required all states to establish their own
registries . After the Wetterling Act was established an

Structural Factors Of Homelessness
Homelessness: Individual and Structural Factors Influencing This Wicked Problem According
to recent research, homelessness affects between 150,000 and 300,000 Canadians a year
(Cherner et al. 2017, 219; Gandermann et al. 2014, 341; Piat et al. 2015, 2367). This increase in
homelessness began in the 1980 s following economic changes as well as shifts in government
policy that lead to a reduction in supports for low income families as well as a decrease in
affordable housing available across Canada (Gaetz 2010, 21; Piat et al. 2015, 2367). Though
proving a national problem, a concrete solution for homelessnessdoes not exist, making it a wicked
problem seemingly impossible to solve. Homelessness continues to present itself as a multifaceted...

However, in order to eliminate homelessness as a crisis in Canada, these individual factors must be
analyzed alongside the structural influences that lead to homelessness. According to the literature,
structural risk factors that contribute to homelessness are: transitioning from an institutional
placement into the community, social policies such as a lack of affordable housing and the
dismantling of national housing strategy, transferring the responsibility from federal to
provincial governments, and discrimination (Gaetz 2010, 22; Piat et al. 2015, 2368). By
acknowledging these structural risk factors as contributing alongside individual factors, a social
ecological viewpoint proves effective in preventing homelessness (Piat et al., 2379). As the
literature suggests, the social ecological perspective provides a lens for understanding
homelessness in Canada as a complex social issue that warrants a coordinated response across
sectors, levels of government, and society (Piat et al., 2380). By considering the issue of
homelessness across all levels of society, we are better prepared to formulate a proper and effective
solution towards the national

In most cases, your hair is cut around shoulder length, either a little above, or slightly below. The
idea is to create a significant amount of depth to the appearance of your hair, something that the
hair stylist will do after the initial cut is made.
Popularity of Medium Length Layered Haircuts
One of the primary reasons that this type of haircut is so popular with women is because it s easy
to maintain. Women with long hairmay have to spend several hours washing their hair, drying it,
and getting it to a state of perfection. Although longer hair might provide a woman with more flair
and possibilities, long hair is more difficult to manage, and therefore medium length haircuts can
sometimes be preferable.
Women that cut their hair short might risk having a less feminine appearance. You need to have
the right facial shape in order to sport a shorter hairdo. The typical pixie cut that some women
prefer usually looks better with a more rounded face. However, in the end, it really comes down to
how much work you want to put into your hair. The medium length layered hairdo, therefore, is a
happy medium for those that want to have more style options, yet will have less hair to manage on

The Free Trade Agreement
The Free Trade Agreement (FTA) as well as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)
were failures. The North American Free Trade Agreement was one of the most controversial
documents of the 20th century, beginning January 1st 1988.1 The reason it was so controversial
was because it was loved in some ways yet hated in others. One of the reasons why the FTA and
NAFTA were failures is due to the fact that Prime Minister Brian Mulroneylost a lot of votes caused
by the amount of voters that disapproved of the FTA and NAFTA. Another reason the FTA and
NAFTA were failures is because the agreement did not improve the amount of full time jobs in
Canada, which was one of the reasons that the FTA and NAFTA was created in the first place.
The final reason the deal failed was because the deal was supposed to improve productivity around
Canada but really did nothing. The FTA and NAFTA were failures because it only helped a small
handful of Canadians and hindered many more.
The first main reason why the FTA and NAFTA were failures was because of the popularity
Prime Minister Brian Mulroney lost. Mulroney was elected into government in 1984 with the
biggest election win in Canadian history. When he was re elected in 1988, it gave Mulroney the
go ahead with the FTA which was implemented at midnight on January 1st 1989. Before Mulroney
brought the FTA to the table he was thought of as the best Prime Minister Canada had ever elected.

Advantage And Disadvantage Of Hydrogels
Part two Hydrogels have a lot of benefits and used in many uses, but they have limited usage in

Boeing History
William Boeing bought his first plane and taught himself how to fly in the early 1900 s and as
soon as he left the ground crashed his seaplane and nearly destroyed it. Once he destroyed the
plane he started to realize that because it would take so long for him to get the necessary parts to
make his plane airworthy again he could build his own custom plane in a shorter amount of time.
The fascination with seaplanes directed him toward building his own seaplane with his friend G.C.

Nova Centauri s Theory Of Lithium
When a massive star, outclassing our own sun by fiat, grows old enough that it s run out of fuel,
it sometimes explodes in a violent reaction releasing the elements necessary for new stars, new
planets and systems into the depths of space in a matter of minutes. This process is believed to
resemble the big bang itself, and astronomers have just discovered the presence of a chemical
called lithium in a nova, and this chemical s presence is helping us understand the concentration of
lithium in stellar phenomena. The nova was observed from two telescopes run by the European
Southern Observatory resting on the rolling mountains of Chile, and quickly pinpointed and
identified as Nova Centauri, a new member to the nova club, having exploded in 2013. Nova
Centauri is the brightest nova as of yet in the 21st century. This represents the first in what will be

However, astronomers have for a good deal of time wondered if the question of younger stars
higher lithium content could be caused by older stars lithium content being expelled at wild
speeds, seeding stellar nurseries with lithium, giving baby stars the material before they are fully
formed. But up until now, there has been no evidence whatsoever of lithium in novae, super or
nominal. This change took the form of lithium being ejected from the exploding Nova Centauri
at 1.24 million miles (2 million kilometers) per hour. If the nova s peculiar qualities are
extrapolated to the billions of other novae whom have seen the face of death throughout the
history of our Milky Way, we may finally be able to explain the presence of lithium in the Milky
Way. If we imagine the history of the chemical evolution of the Milky Way as a big jigsaw, then
lithium from novae was one of the most important and puzzling missing pieces, commented

Tor allows both the server and client to remain anonymous. It also guarantees that what happens
between these two parties stays with these two parties. The information is protected from third
parties as the data is encrypted. This is possible because the nodes that are in between the server
and the client have no idea who is talking to whom and what is being exchanged between them.
Tor is very effective when it comes to privacy because it is designed and maintained to provide

Jackson s removal policy did not sit well with a lot of groups; many were uncomfortable about it
but agreed it had to be done. President Jackson showed great leadership apart from everything
else, and handled the Indian Removal act when no one else wanted to address the growing issue of
Indian problem. Most government officials saw little to gain from addressing this and would do
nothing. Some historians believe the president s motivation was clearly out of concern for the
Indians customs, their culture and their language, but his first concern was the safety of the
military, Indians occupying the east might jeopardize the defense of the United States. In
December of 1830 President Jackson would submitted the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek to
congress, it would be the first to win Senate approval. President Jackson wanted everything to go
smoothly so that the American people would see that he was humane and that this Treaty would
benefit both the Indians and the American nation at large. With Jackson located too far away to

corruption, and inefficiency on a level that would lead to their destruction. Jackson would be

Descriptive Essay On A Midnight Forest
I m laying down in grass and snow, in the middle of Midnight Forest. Judging by the beams of
moonlight coming in through the trees, it must be around midnight. I m not sure what I m doing
here, but I have a feeling of uncertainty. Saige. I hear a whisper from behind me. I whip around,
and my eyes scan what I thought was an empty forest. I shake my head and stand up, snowflakes
floating off of my winter coat and skirt.
I see my breath in the air, and it mesmerizes me for a second. A big clump of snow abruptly falls
from the trees. I gasp at the sudden noise and look up to where the snow fell from. An owl is
looking down at me, it s never blinking eyes looking into mine, and it feels like it s invading my
brain.
My head starts to hurt, and I close my eyes and rub my temples. I reopen my eyes and the owl is
right in front of my face. I let out a small shriek and fall backward into the snow. All I can hear
was my uneven breaths. I hear a rustle in the bushes to my right, but the dark light proves a
challenge to see through. The rustling of the bushes stopped for a minute, and I felt an ephemeral
moment of peace. I stood up on shaky legs and took a deep breath in.
For some reason unknown, my brain wasn t begging me to leave the forest. In fact, I was drawn
to what looked like a neglected cabin. I felt captivated by the building, despite the archaic style. I
took slow but steady steps towards the old cabin.. Come in, The building whispered to me in an
enthralling way. My steps quickened and I ended up at a full on sprint to get inside the building.
I took my first step inside the creaky wooden door, and time seemed to slow. The ancient
building transformed into a state of the art building from the 1950 s. I felt like I was
hallucinating. My vision flashed between a room full of laughter and warmth, and a room full of
blood and horror. I backed up against a door and ran into someone. I began to mumble a sorry until
I turned around.
There, one of the aliens that invaded our planet was looking at me, it s black eyes locked onto
mine. I screamed as loud as I could, and the scene became happy once more. Miss, are you okay? A

exploring the value of family. The directors and the cinematic team use an extreme range of camera

When all the competitors are introduced on stage we see Olive is far out of place just through
her basic average costuming, compared to the other girls who are dressed like little Barbie
dolls, with glittery clothes and excessive make up. Even though Olive is out of place and
obviously doesn t belong in the competition, she still reflects Grandpa s view on classifying
winners and losers which was introduced before he died. Grandpa believes that a real loser is
someone who is so afraid of not winning they don t even try. Through the costuming and Olives
actions the directors implant that view of winning and losing into the audience, which then
reflects on our world today, as we need to show more support, not for the winners of a
competition, but the courage people have developed to enter a competition. The Final key
technique which is employed by the cinematic team of Little Miss Sunshine is the use of sound.
Throughout the film there is an evident mixture of diegetic and non diegetic sounds. In the scene

Criminological Research Triangulation Essay
Critically assess the use of triangulation in research design for criminological studies.
There has been an emergence in the use of triangulation in criminological research, in a bid to
combine two methods to ensure the validity of the research. As a result, the use of triangulation is
recommended as good practice for any criminological research (Maruna 2009); as no single
method can produce a comprehensive account of the study under research (Bryman 1988). In spite
of its reported success, the practice of triangulation is not without its critics. Therefore, as a result
of this ongoing debate regarding the level of its effectiveness, this essay will critically assess the
use of triangulation in criminological research.
Triangulation is readily interpreted as a method to integrate two or more approaches, theories, data

Carnival Cruise Lines
1.Conduct a SWOT analysis for Carnival: what are its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and
threats? In doing so, please evaluate its major competitors.
Strengths
Carnival has 75 ships in its fleet and is continuing to brand the company as the fun ships
There are large barriers of entry into the cruise businesses. Ships are extremely costly and time
consuming to build.
Carnival cruises provide a vacation that includes all activities, food, beverages and transportation to
multiple destinations in one low price, appealing the budget friendly cruisers.
Carnival builds it ships specifically for entertainment and fun, the most important factors people are
looking for when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With a variety of activities from rock climbing, pools, and casinos, Carnival trips have activities
for everyone. Additionally, Carnival recognized the shift in cruise demographics from the start. In
the 1970s, cruisers were generally older, however, there was a growing trend of young singles and
young families taking cruises. Carnival developed cruises from the start with these new customers
in mind.
3.In a succinct manner, state Carnival s value proposition?
Carnival s value proposition was to be a cheaper alternative to land vacations at all inclusive resorts
while providing a variety of activities and destinations in one trip. Carnival was the fun ship ,
providing contemporary vacationing to first time and repeat cruisers. Because customer retention is
low, Carnival uses a more traditional style of marketing, focusing on the short term customer.
Each brand under the Carnival umbrella remained independent, especially in respect to sales and
marketing. This encourages the sister brands to remain competitive with one another and market
their unique value propositions. However, the brands worked together to drive synergies and
economies of scale.
4.Currently Carnival is utilizing a mass marketing strategy. If they were to change tactics and
implement a segmentation strategy, which segments should they focus on and why? What would
you recommend they do: stick with the mass marketing strategy or switch to a segmentation
strategy?
If Carnival

Anthill A paper authored by Montresor (2001) outlines a new approach, aptly christened Anthill,
for designing peer to peer (P2P) applications based on comparisons to ant colonies. The paper
proposes a framework to assist with the development of fresh protocols for P2P methodologies.
The author considers how there are issues that typically apply to P2P projects such as security and
routing for which conventional algorithm techniques for resolving these issues are deemed
inappropriate. Therefore Anthill is proposed as a framework to support individuals in the
investigation and design of innovative P2P algorithms. The Anthill project was developed using
parallels drawn between P2P systems and colonies of ants. Anthill provides an... Show more content

This means hosting a file allowing a theoretically limitless number of download users is less
expensive as this technique apportions the cost of upload across these users. The paper goes on
at length to explain how BitTorrent works in detail with Cohen scrutinising methods to achieve
successful yet fair to all, downloads. Cohen discusses how researchers have previously attempted
to find realistic and fair techniques to do this. One strategy for fair apportioning of effort is to
ensure each peer s download rate is proportional to their upload rate. However there can be issues
with incomplete downloads because some clients may terminate downloading once they have
transferred the file. A discussion of the technical aspects of BitTorrent and issues is given; this
includes algorithms and strategies, to resolve specific problems. An example cited is choking,
which is when peers disallow downloading from themselves and for which BitTorrent includes
choking algorithms which try to promote parento efficiency in an attempt to resolve this. Cohen
concludes that BitTorrent is now widely deployed but this article does cover many issues with the
fairness of the download effort and incomplete downloading as well as relating in detail, solutions
and algorithms that can resolve these issues. Newscast Protocol Voulgaris et

The research critically analyses the desired effects of the depression and the antidepressants
available for the depressions. Depression symptoms are commonly seen among people of various
ages. There are some of the antidepressants that are initially recommended for overcoming the
issues of depression. Some of the well known methods have been used by many of the known
researchers regarding the topic of depression. Proper evaluation of the research methodology about
depressions will help in the better understanding of the mental state of the people suffering from the
diseases of depression. The evaluation of the two of the research papers mentioned above highlights
the fact that research between a certain numbers of the people will help to evaluate... Show more

According to the research depression is an outcome of family, cultural, personal and social
circumstances. The main causes of depression are the stress factors such as bereavement, abuse,
the stress of divorce and sexual infidelity. Other kinds of stressors like isolation and ageing, health
problems, stigma, cultural distance are the major difficulties faced by the people. The finding
demonstrates the nature of an individual of understanding depression and different management
strategies used in the primary care of the patients. The encouragement of the self help in the step
care models is recommended in the NICE guidelines of UK which may require more than blanket
application of self management tools and more systematic extracting of strategies which enable an
individual to develop on their existing strengths and moving towards the recovery more effectively.
The finding also reveals the depth of traumatic and violent experiences suffered by the women due
to depression. Many women link their depressions with the heavy loss such as ill health,
bereavement or job related events. The approach of chronic disease management is becoming a
widespread practice of controlling depressive disorders of how the patients respond to the approach
in the primary care. The understanding of the symptoms is important to understand the recurrent
depression that may be problematic and

  • 2. Drug Trafficking In Panama Political Solution Drug Trafficking: Not only is drug trafficking a major concern for Panama internally, but it is also a large issue externally, mainly in regards to their border disputes with its neighboring countries. As mentioned earlier in Panama s Three Major Issues, according to CIA World Factbook, Organized illegal narcotics operations in Colombiaoperate within the remote border region with Panama , and historically Panama has been ...the destination of choice for smurfed money orders... (Andelman). In order to make a dent in the drugtrafficking issue, Panama needs to cohesively work with neighboring countries. This can be done by making major improvements in the government and military. One suggestion presented by President... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to help the millions of men, women, and children who are victims of trafficking, Panama has many suggestions available to them. As mentioned in the Panama s Three Major Issues, The U.S. Department of State reports: No [Panamanian] law expressly prohibits forced labor of adults or children, although the government stated that forced labor could be prosecuted under provisions of constitutional law and other civil and criminal statutes. Economically, many businesses thrive off of human trafficking as a way to increase production by holding down the price of goods, mainly since the workers are being paid less. Therefore, the Panamanian government first should start by setting strict laws prohibiting labor trafficking. Although this will hurt the economy, millions of human rights violations occur every year, which is the important matter. The Panamanian government can make up for this in other ways. Also, Panama can help the situation by working with the United Nations. The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) works to help root out human trafficking, and the UNODC ...offers practical help to States, not only helping to draft laws and create comprehensive national anti trafficking strategies but also assisting with resources to implement them. The goal of Cortes s letter was to inform the emperor of his interactions with king Moctezuma when he and his men entered the Aztec capital of Tenochtitlan. And based on his description of Moctezuma s behavior and speech, it appears that Moctezuma did not show fear, but, was rather welcoming and accepting of the European foreigners. Moctezuma explains the writings of his ancestors, which form his and the people of Tenochtitlan s beliefs. By stating, that the people in Tenochtitlan were not natives of the land, but were foreigners themselves that were brought by a powerful leader as subordinates. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Causes And Failures Of Hurricane Katrina Katrina Failures In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, multiple failures exposed communication breakdowns, roles and responsibilities. Civil unrest followed after local law enforcement, abandoned their legal duties. Historically, the Posse Comitatus Act created barriers. These barriers slowed down the response of federal support. The President and governor struggled over control of the National Guard. The city of New Orleans suffered economically and through loss of life. With the pullout of the police, they fell into a different category that called for implantation of martial law using an outside policing force. The actions of Governor Blanco are ill prepared at most. • 6. Karl Marx’s Views on Today’s Society In the market place of today there are high skilled workers and low skilled workers. The high skilled workers have control of the market due to their credentials as the owners did in the past, since the market has moved from the owners operating the businesses. The low skilled workers fall into the same class, as they were under Marx s theory as workers however their equivalent is to that of a serf or a peasant. It seems that Marx would be disgusted with what the market place had become today. Marx believed that in order to get things done legislatively, make sure that the laws are followed and that the low skilled workers still have a job, the high skilled workers had to take control. This control allows the market to function rather... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This would not only effect the market having to pay their debt but would have devastating effects on the markets that aid was given or promised. Currently the young pay for benefits to be provided to the disabled and the elderly when they hit the age of retirement. This benefits the disabled and elderly, but leaves the younger generation with concerns that these same benefits will not be around when they would need them in the future. This concept also plays a part in a way with the amount of taxes that are paid in by workers. It seems that the high skilled workers out of paying more in taxes since they are able to find more deductions, whereas the low skilled workers would not have those same deductions to use therefore have to pay more in. According to Marx s Labor theory of value the common low skilled worker in the market of today is being underpaid and the high skilled workers who run the market are pocketing the difference. This compounded with the added burden of high taxes and paying for the benefits of the elderly and disabled is an unstable basis for a market. Marx believed that all low skilled workers needed is enough money to survive, in the market today the common man wants much more than just to survive. The feeling of entitlement within the workforce goes against many of Marx s beliefs about the market. Also, a bolus compensates for uneven skin surfaces or irregular contours on the patient s surface. The depth of maximum equilibrium describes the depth in which the maximum dose of the formulated radiation deposited into the skin (Washington Leaver, 2010). Bolus material should be flexible, pliable, and tissue equivalent. There is no study that compares green Play Doh, orange Play Doh, water and uncooked rice to Superflab for providing maximum dose buildup, Dmax. Benoit, Pruitt, and Thrall (2009) assessed the quality of wet gauze compared to Superflab. Using different sizes and levels of wetness, and variable densities of the bolus material, the investigators measured each material three times using a 6 MV radiation source. The results were that a wet gauze with a density of 1.02 g/cm3 had the identical measurement to Superflab. While a smaller gauze with a density of .75 g/cm3 was not as efficient. • 8. Exploring The Roots Of The Recurring Subjects And Symbols... After nearly two centuries completely lacking in images, early Christians finally developed a pictorial language to express their faith. The conventions developed early on would come to define the middle ages, an entire era of almost exclusively Christian images. Early Christians adopted classical conventions for their art, which would serve an opposing purpose for outsiders and initiates. For outsiders, the symbols meant no harm. But to followers of the faith, the images are loaded with meaning. The meaning inherent in the history of the symbol, when combined with a biblical context, creates a full and multi faceted iconographic tradition. The purpose of this paper is to explore the roots of the recurring subjects and symbols evident in the funerary paintings in Catacombs of Domitilla in Rome. Funerary paintings and sculpture provide the most thorough evidence of early Christian art. An exceptional visual tradition has been preserved in the vast network of underground burial systems: the Roman catacombs. One of the most extensive of these is the Catacomb of Domitilla. Beginning in the third century CE, the Catacombs of Domitilla housed thousands of bodies from families rich and poor, and extended for over seventeen kilometers in four distinct subterranean levels. In terms of style, most of the works are indistinguishable from Roman paintings. If anything, the art style is a more rushed and cramped version of illusionistic Roman wall painting. Reed s biggest challenge is gaining 2% market share without opening new locations. To gain that 2% requires a huge sales increase. Looking at 2010 sales data, if every other company had flat sales in 2011, Reed would need an extra 93 million in sales, or an increase of 14%. It was obviously cheaper for the company to mine for oil rather than replace the aging equipment. According to Frontline, BP had only hired around three hundred contractors to inspect the pipes on the immense oil field. However, even with so few contractors to survey the pipes, the results were appalling: most if not all the pipes were dangerously corroded and unsafe for oil transport. In a Washington Post article, BP Alaska Remains at Risk, Frontline co reporter Abrahm Lustgarten went into detail about the severity of pipeline corrosion and BP s disregard for safety on the North Slope. BP pipe examiners had found that over eighty percent of the pipes could rupture. Some pipes were so corroded that they were a few thousandths of an inch from leaking. Most of the pipes carried highly reactive hydrocarbons, risking explosion should there be a rupture. Even with so much old pipes, BP never renovated them. Mark Kovac, a BP engineer, depicted BP s zealous cost cutting and safety ignorance by saying, They re going to run this out as far as they can without leaving one dollar on the table when they leave (qtd. in Lustgarten). One point that he makes is the future is always changing and the school system needs to also, change to keep up with everything that is going around the world. The next point Wilson makes is, he disagrees and talks about problems with the institutional education. Another topic Wilson talks about is liberal and technical education, and the last main argument Wilson talks about is the different types of knowledge, and everyone has different methods of learning. For the future changing point, Wilson uses an example about life in the present and in the past, and how complex life and learning has gotten in modern society. Woodrow Wilson also, gave an example of a scholar with his door closed, and his window open. • 16. The Lateral And Axial Resolution Of The Microscope The lateral and axial resolution of the microscope play a key role in biological studies to investigate the intricate internal mechanisms of the cell. There is a fundamental limitation with the lateral resolution of the microscope due to the finite wavelength of light. Although, during the past few years, a large number of solutions have been presented to deal with this problem, e.g., scanning electron microscopy(SEM), scanning tunnel microscopy (STM), atomic force microscopy (AFM), optical microscopy is the most interesting high resolution microscopic techniques because of its capability and compatibility of non contact, minimally invasive observation and measurement of live specimens. However, Conventional far field microscopic methods suffer from lack of the sufficient spatial resolution for resolving subcellular structures due to the Abbe diffractionlimit. This limitation (about 200 nm) caused the emerging of the many super resolution microscopic methods such as Stimulated Emission Depletion (STED) Microscopy, Structured Illumination Microscopy (SIM), Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy (STORM), Photo Activated Localization Microscopy (PALM) and so forth. Due to its resolution beyond the diffraction limit, its axial sectioning capability (the removal of out of focus blur), and its high speed imaging, SIM has been applied more than other mentioned super resolution techniques in fluorescence microscopy. The New Testament, unlike the Old Testament is responsible for spreading Christianity Theology to the world. The book was written by the disciples of Jesus. When one hear of the book, one s mind think about the apostle Paul, since he is the one responsible for a large portion of the book and is one of the most studied out of the apostles. Paul has written: First Thessalonians, Galatians, Philemon, Romans and many more. However, with the dates of these gospels going back to million years ago; no one can truly attribute all the Pauline epistles to him. Titus, Ephesians, and First and Second Timothy are all in question of the authorship being Paul or one his followers which has been seen as a common theme in history. Paul s main purpose for writing these letters was to educate the communities about how to obtain a relationship with the Lord JesusChrist. There were other letters that he wrote that were foreshadows of the apocalypse and destruction and one letter that he wrote on behalf of a slave (Letter to Philemon). Galatians is one of those letters were he is writing to the citizens of Galatia and trying to help the gentile Christians one again. Paul achieves this by recalling events of his past life, preaching the gospel that was giving him to by Jesus, and by being expressive and telling the citizens of Galatia that they have betrayed the Lord Jesus Christ by following the Jewish Laws. ... Structural Factors Of Homelessness Homelessness: Individual and Structural Factors Influencing This Wicked Problem According to recent research, homelessness affects between 150,000 and 300,000 Canadians a year (Cherner et al. 2017, 219; Gandermann et al. 2014, 341; Piat et al. 2015, 2367). This increase in homelessness began in the 1980 s following economic changes as well as shifts in government policy that lead to a reduction in supports for low income families as well as a decrease in affordable housing available across Canada (Gaetz 2010, 21; Piat et al. 2015, 2367). By acknowledging these structural risk factors as contributing alongside individual factors, a social ecological viewpoint proves effective in preventing homelessness (Piat et al., 2379). The North American Free Trade Agreement was one of the most controversial documents of the 20th century, beginning January 1st 1988.1 The reason it was so controversial was because it was loved in some ways yet hated in others. One of the reasons why the FTA and NAFTA were failures is due to the fact that Prime Minister Brian Mulroneylost a lot of votes caused by the amount of voters that disapproved of the FTA and NAFTA. Another reason the FTA and NAFTA were failures is because the agreement did not improve the amount of full time jobs in Canada, which was one of the reasons that the FTA and NAFTA was created in the first place. The final reason the deal failed was because the deal was supposed to improve productivity around Canada but really did nothing. The FTA and NAFTA were failures because it only helped a small handful of Canadians and hindered many more. The first main reason why the FTA and NAFTA were failures was because of the popularity Prime Minister Brian Mulroney lost. Mulroney was elected into government in 1984 with the biggest election win in Canadian history. When he was re elected in 1988, it gave Mulroney the go ahead with the FTA which was implemented at midnight on January 1st 1989. This process is believed to resemble the big bang itself, and astronomers have just discovered the presence of a chemical called lithium in a nova, and this chemical s presence is helping us understand the concentration of lithium in stellar phenomena. The nova was observed from two telescopes run by the European Southern Observatory resting on the rolling mountains of Chile, and quickly pinpointed and identified as Nova Centauri, a new member to the nova club, having exploded in 2013. • 40. Criminological Research Triangulation Essay Critically assess the use of triangulation in research design for criminological studies. There has been an emergence in the use of triangulation in criminological research, in a bid to combine two methods to ensure the validity of the research. As a result, the use of triangulation is recommended as good practice for any criminological research (Maruna 2009); as no single method can produce a comprehensive account of the study under research (Bryman 1988). In spite of its reported success, the practice of triangulation is not without its critics. Therefore, as a result of this ongoing debate regarding the level of its effectiveness, this essay will critically assess the use of triangulation in criminological research. Triangulation is readily interpreted as a method to integrate two or more approaches, theories, data sources, methods or investigators in one single study of a single social phenomenon (Thurmond 2001; Yeasmin and Rahman 2012). Such as the use of both quantitative and qualitative methods, within the same research question; in order to allow the researcher to refine the findings or research question (Oppermann 2000). It can also be applied more broadly to refer to the use of multiple observers, theoretical perspectives, sources of data, and methodologies (Denzin 1970).
