Quality Assurance
•   Availability of Multimedia Learning
    Materials (MLMs) is increasing.

•   Access has increased

•   The number of content generators both
    private and government increasing rapidly.

•   It is essential to pay attention to the
    quality of the MLMs from the
    users/learners point of view

•   CEMCA initiated the Quality Assurance
QAMLM ver1.0 evolved
through discussions and inputs
  from academics, industry,
public and private institutions
 who were involved in creating
learning materials using media
        and technology
QAMLM ver1.0
attracted lot of interest
 from varied users and
    research scholars
Users – teachers, students,
decision makers benefited from
               the
           guidelines.

  Developers were particularly
appreciative of a set of measure
  against which they could map
              their
    processes and outcomes
QAMLM – Ver 1.5



• Section 1 provides an
  understanding of the QAMLM
  Conceptual Framework and
  descriptors of the key terms
  used in the QAMLM Framework.
Section 2 is application oriented and provides
quality assurance rating tools, that are divided
into three parts.

• Part A addresses the developers and provides a
framework comprising guidelines, quality indicators
and checklists for the development of good quality
MLM.

• Part B provides a set of indicators for people
who are required to judge the quality of a
developed MLM - persons who typically are
involved in a MLM procurement decision.


• Part C provides a quick and brief product
evaluation tool for the end users (learners).

    the framework


• Development phase –           Creation, assembly and
    integration of media elements


• Deployment –        Putting the product into action


• Feedback     to measure effectiveness,

  • 6. The need for a framework which provides guidelines for quality learning materials
  • 7. Quality Assurance of Multimedia Learning Materials (QAMLM) Developed by CEMCA Supported by Ministry of Human Resource Development Government of India and Ministry of Higher Education - Malaysia Presented by: Sucheta Phadke
  • 8. Quality Assurance • Availability of Multimedia Learning Materials (MLMs) is increasing. • Access has increased • The number of content generators both private and government increasing rapidly. • It is essential to pay attention to the quality of the MLMs from the users/learners point of view • CEMCA initiated the Quality Assurance
  • 9. QAMLM ver1.0 evolved through discussions and inputs from academics, industry, public and private institutions who were involved in creating learning materials using media and technology
  • 10. QAMLM ver1.0 attracted lot of interest from varied users and research scholars
  • 11. Users – teachers, students, decision makers benefited from the guidelines. Developers were particularly appreciative of a set of measure against which they could map their processes and outcomes
  • 12. QAMLM – Ver 1.5 • Section 1 provides an understanding of the QAMLM Conceptual Framework and descriptors of the key terms used in the QAMLM Framework.
  • 13. Section 2 is application oriented and provides quality assurance rating tools, that are divided into three parts. • Part A addresses the developers and provides a framework comprising guidelines, quality indicators and checklists for the development of good quality MLM. • Part B provides a set of indicators for people who are required to judge the quality of a developed MLM - persons who typically are involved in a MLM procurement decision. • Part C provides a quick and brief product evaluation tool for the end users (learners).

QAMLM – Framework • Analysis Phase – Captures requirements, Sets expectations • Design phase – Sets the blueprint, defines the framework • Development phase – Creation, assembly and integration of media elements • Deployment – Putting the product into action • Feedback to measure effectiveness, recommendations for product improvement
