Apple Consumer Survey: 4-inch iPhone and Apple Watch, March 2016Branding Brand
In March 2016, Apple is expected to announce a new model of iPhone that goes back to the smaller 4-inch screen of previous generations. Many current iPhone users are less than excited.
In a recent survey, 78% said they would not consider switching to this new 4-inch iPhone.
In addition to the smaller screen size, the new device will also miss out on the much-hyped 3D Touch.
For a company that’s so strongly identified with innovation, consumers may feel let down by a device that offers no new capabilities, but still comes with a hefty price tag.

Half of 1,000 iPhone users say they will trade up to the next iPhone, which is expected to go on sale following Apple Inc.’s Special Event on September 7.

A new study commissioned by Visa (and conducted by PYMNTS) finds that almost a quarter of American consumers own six or more connected devices, and 75 percent of them have at least one — in addition to their smartphones, computers, or tablets. But that’s just the warm-up act. More than 80 percent of consumers see using iOT devices as a way to eliminate the frictions that make today’s online and in-store shopping experience, they say, unproductive, and time-consuming. At the top of their new connected ways-to-pay wish list? Devices that enable auto-pay in-stores and at-the-pump. So, what might get in the way — and who do they trust to deliver it? Guess you’ll have to read — and download the study — to find out.

# Internet Security: Safeguarding Your Digital World
In the contemporary digital age, the internet is a cornerstone of our daily lives. It connects us to vast amounts of information, provides platforms for communication, enables commerce, and offers endless entertainment. However, with these conveniences come significant security challenges. Internet security is essential to protect our digital identities, sensitive data, and overall online experience. This comprehensive guide explores the multifaceted world of internet security, providing insights into its importance, common threats, and effective strategies to safeguard your digital world.
## Understanding Internet Security
Internet security encompasses the measures and protocols used to protect information, devices, and networks from unauthorized access, attacks, and damage. It involves a wide range of practices designed to safeguard data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Effective internet security is crucial for individuals, businesses, and governments alike, as cyber threats continue to evolve in complexity and scale.
### Key Components of Internet Security
1. **Confidentiality**: Ensuring that information is accessible only to those authorized to access it.
2. **Integrity**: Protecting information from being altered or tampered with by unauthorized parties.
3. **Availability**: Ensuring that authorized users have reliable access to information and resources when needed.
## Common Internet Security Threats
Cyber threats are numerous and constantly evolving. Understanding these threats is the first step in protecting against them. Some of the most common internet security threats include:
### Malware
Malware, or malicious software, is designed to harm, exploit, or otherwise compromise a device, network, or service. Common types of malware include:
- **Viruses**: Programs that attach themselves to legitimate software and replicate, spreading to other programs and files.
- **Worms**: Standalone malware that replicates itself to spread to other computers.
- **Trojan Horses**: Malicious software disguised as legitimate software.
- **Ransomware**: Malware that encrypts a user's files and demands a ransom for the decryption key.
- **Spyware**: Software that secretly monitors and collects user information.
### Phishing
Phishing is a social engineering attack that aims to steal sensitive information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details. Attackers often masquerade as trusted entities in email or other communication channels, tricking victims into providing their information.
### Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) Attacks
MitM attacks occur when an attacker intercepts and potentially alters communication between two parties without their knowledge. This can lead to the unauthorized acquisition of sensitive information.
### Denial-of-Service (DoS) and Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) Attacks

12. WITH THE INTERNET OF THINGS…
• Shopping, purchase, and usage decisions will happen
everywhere
• Separation between the shopper and the consumer
will diminish
• Technology will measure decisions all along the way
13. We can ask people questions
via a lot of new devices and in
a lot of new ways
WITH THE INTERNET OF THINGS…
• We can know more about what people Do
• We may not need to ask them What
But we still need to know:
• “Why?”
• “How do you feel?”
• “How do you decide?”
• “What would you do if…?”
14. BUT WHAT ABOUT…
• Acceptance (“creepiness”) factor
• Privacy concerns

30. AND THERE IS ALSO…
• Survey Overload
how much is too much, will there be something equivalent to a
“Do not call” list where users opt out?
• Privacy Concerns
strongest benefits may have the highest risks, especially
regarding health related devices
• Lack of Clear Benefit to Responding
how do we offer incentives?
• Early Adopters vs. Mainstream
31. “The scarce resource will continue to be human
attention. There is a limit to the usefulness of devices
that are worn in public but that demand attention
because it is often socially and practically unacceptable
to give those devices enough attention to make them
worth the trouble of configuring and interacting with.”
