The Horizon Project is an annual report published by the New Media Consortium that identifies and describes emerging technologies likely to have a large impact on education over the next 1, 2, or 5 years. It explores six technologies each year, including user-created content, social networking, mobile phones, virtual worlds, new forms of scholarship, and massively multiplayer educational games. The report is used by teachers to identify new ways to engage students with technology and by businesses to understand the technologies popular among younger generations.

Toward a New Framework of Recommender Memory Based System for MOOCs IJECEIAES
Moocs is the new wave of remote learning that has revolutionized it since its apparition, offering the possibility to teach a very big group of student, at the same time, in the same course, within all disciplines and without even gathering them in the same geographic location, or at the same time; Allowing the sharing of all type of media and document and providing tools to assessing student performance. To benefit from all this advantages, big universities are investing in Moocs platforms to valorize their approach, which makes MOOC available in a multitude of languages and variety of disciplines. Elite universities have open their doors to student around the world without requesting tuition or claiming a college degree, however even with the major effort reaching to maximize students visits and hooking visitors to the platform, using recommending systems propose content likely to please learners, the dropout rate still very high and the number of users completing a course remains very low compared to those who have quit. In this paper we propose an architecture aiming to maximize users visits by exploiting users big data and combining it with data available from social networks.
The term "collaborative learning" (CL) refers to a broad range of educational strategies including the combined intellectual efforts of teachers and pupils. Students are typically required to work in groups of two or more, looking together for understanding, answers, or meanings or producing a product. People will be able to collaborate with someone far away just as readily as they would with someone in the same room thanks to the usage of ICT in CL. E-collaboration tool enable users to contribute a variety of abilities to group projects that remove time, distance, and resource limitations. Face-to-face engagement is still important, but ICT can enhance it by enabling communication at any time and from any location. ICT functions for group work coordination, tools for tracking progress and providing feedback, libraries of solutions and best practises, as well as meta data, are all available as collaborative technologies. In order to facilitate collaborative learning in all areas of education, the following technological tools can be used: wiki, online forums, chat, video conferencing, email, blogging, learning management systems, virtual classrooms, Sticky notes, etc.

On 26th March, Dr Bex Lewis will be running a Collaborative Enhancement and Teaching (CET) Lunch, 12.30 - 2pm
The topic will be 'The 21st Century Learner', with discussions on blended learning tools and the use of social networks.
CET lunches are an informal space to discuss and share learning and teaching experiences/practice across the university.
The session will include discussions as to what differences there may be with "The 21st Century Learner", a summary of Sir David Melville's CLEX report from March 2009, a consideration of what Blended Learning is, visual stats, and a look at some potential tools/their uses.
(The presentation was somewhat a 'work in progress', and there's a lot more depth I'd like to investigate, but it generated great discussion, and some thinking for me/others!)

The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation.
